End of week 5 with 3lb down since last Saturday, 24lb loss in total. BMI now 50.3

I was on 4mg this week but yesterday it didn't seem to be particularly effective with a lot of food noise coming through yesterday. I've done the full 5mg this morning so I'll see how it goes this week.

WeAllHaveWings · 23/11/2024 16:28

Nice 2lb loss this week, pleased with this as still on 2 weeks of annual leave, lunching out a few times and weight has been fluctuating all week.

End of week - 22 (5 x 2.5mg, 17 x 3.75mg)
SW - 21st 5lbs BMI 44.8
CW - 17st 2lbs BMI 36.0
Losses - 10,2,2,4,1,3,3,3,1,3,2,2,3,3,2,3,3,2,1,4,0,2
Total loss - 4st 3lbs (59lbs), 19.7%
Next Target - 16st 9lbs / BMI < 35 by Christmas🎄(4 weeks, 7lbs to go!)

I have taken the last 3.75mg injection out of current pen today and the hard twist (with pliers) method worked ok for me again. New pen is in the fridge ready for next week!

Back to work next week and hoping to get back into the routine of racking up some decent (for me!) daily steps, this has gone to pot the last couple of weeks, which will hopefully help me to comfortably get to my new Christmas target! Tempted by a Dreamland heated throw for Christmas!

Remember to review your TDEE's every month or so, I just checked mine again (with my new height!) and it has reduced from a starting TDEE of 2,409 to now 2,088. That's 2,247 calories less a week - well over a full day worth of food while in deficit - compared to when I started!

Can I ask do you eat to your TDEE if you are calorie counting or how below it are you aiming? I'm a long way behind you, just coming up to the end of week 7 but a similar starting weight

Timetofindme · 23/11/2024 17:24

Evening all!

I'm really undecided as to whether to step up to 7.5 for my next pen or stick on 5. This is my second 5mg pen and I think my weight loss has slowed to about a pound a week but I'm also getting a fair bit of suppression. Wondering whether to try drinking more water, eating more protein fewer carbs or just take the leap and go up.

I'm feeling like give 5 another go but I'm also getting frustrated that I'm not losing more quickly. I've had a really stressful time at work and have not been drinking enough water and sleep has been poor, my exercise has also dropped. So thinking it could be that but don't want to order another 5 and then be annoyed I didn't order a 7.5.

And round and round I go! If I order a 5, is there enough to do an in between if I use the bonus dose to do it? Any advice gratefully received!

Timetofindme · 23/11/2024 17:31

@KittensUnderTheDuvet oh I'm so pleased! I was recommended them when I was so stressed by trying to find a wetsuit.

I'm outdoorsy, love walking etc and find the fact that there's generally no decent proper technical kit in my size really depressing, has made me feel like I don't belong so many times! Alongside the wetsuit, I discovered a group called every body outdoors who have recommendations of where you can get decent kit, and campaign for brands to increase their size range. I've now got some nice outdoors stuff and it is so nice (inadequate word) to be able to buy womens clothes that fit me not have to wear mens stuff with sleeves that are too long and clothes that aren't designed for hips!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 23/11/2024 20:50

@Timetofindme I had similar issues!

I did 3 pens of 5 and had another in the fridge ready to go when I started to get a LOT of food noise for a couple of weeks. I took the 0.8ml 5th dose from that third one and had a fabulous week! I worked out I could get 4 0.8ml doses (6.66mg) out of my 5mg pen and am now nearly done with it. I have had good suppression and no food noise 👍

I have a 7.5 in the fridge for 10 days time and am actually a little concerned the suppression might be too much😂

Timetofindme · 23/11/2024 21:44

@IReallyNeedThisToWork ooooh thats useful to know. I suppose my dilemma is that I really don't have food noise on the 5mg, no cravings really, appetite is definitely suppressed. But weight loss is veeeerrrrry slow. Mostly a pound a week. That said I lost 3lbs a couple of weeks ago (thanks to a dreadful stomach bug) so I guess my 0.4lb loss last week might not be so bad.

I think I'm going to get a 5mg pen and try your 6.66mg dose as an interim!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 24/11/2024 08:41

@Timetofindme it’s weird isn’t it? I think our bodies just sometimes pause to get used to whatever is going on and then recommence.

Have you looked at what you are eating? I read interesting things about calorie cycling and eating less early on the week followed by more as suppression drops later. Dunno if it works but some seem to have good results 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else jump on the scales at different times of the day and get shocked at the apparent gain? .
Don't normally do this, but was interested to see...
I'm gonna stick to morning weighs I think, as I didn't know how much we fluctuate during the day.. unless it's just me..

Yeah don't do this!

Difference between morning and night can be several pounds. I get up, go for a wee then weigh. If for any reason I can't follow that routine then I skip weighing that day because I know that it'll only annoy me.

morbidcuriosity · 24/11/2024 09:03

My name sake, very curious person..

It was just to see, I won't make a habit of it, just was interesting..
I weigh Monday mornings and shall carry on doing that..
I was just shocked at my apparent 6lb gain . Haha.. back to normal this morning though..

NearlyNewHip · 24/11/2024 10:37

For those who aren't low carbing, I found and tried Asda's Microwave Pasta. The green pesto one is 247 calories per pack and excellent for work lunch on the 'hungrier' days. There are different flavours and the ones I've tried are below 300 cals per pack x

alltablenochairs · 24/11/2024 10:42

Bit of a bizarre NSV this morning but I now weigh the same as my powerchair- 122kg. Still losing slowly, still going in the right direction. Since starting this my BMI has reduced by 3.5.

It would appear that 7.5 is the dose that works for me. By now (Monday is day 1 for me) on 5mg the food noise would have been back with a vengeance and I would have quite happily eaten more than was a good idea. On 7.5 it's still working.
I had a takeaway last night and ate about 1/3 of what I would normally have had and even then I didn't really enjoy it afterwards. Made me feel a bit blah if that makes sense?

I had takeaway last night too. I found a lamb shish kebab with loads of salad and a pitta bread was less than 500 calories, a really good choice and even then I didn't eat it all.

Darlinghag · 24/11/2024 11:23

@IReallyNeedThisToWork i am looking to do this with calories - days 1-2 are so high suppression, I can eat 600 calories and not really feel anything other than fullness, and I am currently forcing myself to double that just to feel like I am not leaning in to ED behaviours, but I then have times where days 6-7 are a struggle to maintain a deficit, so i think i want to stack them up to use when needed. Weekly deficit, not daily.

@morbidcuriosity i can fluctate half a stone in a day so only ever count my first morning weigh in for consistency! I think its very very normal!

so after post ovulation gains, i have lost another 1lb! 2lbs in two days after being up all of last week - its wild!! 3.7lbs to hit my next goal.

i’ve been planning work things this week and in a few days i see colleagues i haven’t seen since summer - I am nearly two stone lighter! And then the next meet up - which wont be for almost four months, if i keep following my current trajectory, i will be two stone lighter again. Its wild to think about - and exciting!!

TorturedParentsDepartment · 24/11/2024 16:14

I'm bobbing along the upper half of 22 stone at the moment, but I went to the local outlet place today and bought some size 24 stuff from M+S (I picked selectively mind you - I'm not totally delusional) and stuff, from an actual normal size shop and not online - fits! I nearly cried.

I also went around the entire Cadbury shop and only bought the stuff for gifts for people and nothing for myself.

InfoSecInTheCity · 25/11/2024 06:43

Monday weigh in and a 4lb loss this week, which was more than I was expecting.

Starting weight - 217.5 lbs
Current weight - 184.3 lbs
Total loss - 33.2 lbs

Week by week:
End of week 1 - 212.5 lbs
End of week 2 - 209.6 lbs
End of week 3 - 205.9 lbs
End of week 4 - 204.1 lbs
End of week 5 - 202.8 lbs
End of week 6 - 200.8 lbs
End of week 7 - 198.6 lbs
End of week 8 - 197 lbs
End of week 9 - 195.1 lbs
End of week 10 - 192.4 lbs
End of week 11 - 190.6 lbs
End of week 12 - 190 lbs
End of week 13 - 187.8 lbs
End of week 14 - 184.3 lbs

Have lost just over 15% of my bodyweight so far, going from BMI of 33 to 28.

20lb to go to hit my big target of a healthy BMI.

peonym · 25/11/2024 07:15

@alwaysscared it's so frustrating when the weight bobs up and down. You'll know you can't outrun a bad diet but it does sound like you're doing an awful lot of exercise over 5 days - how much of that is meditation? Have you tried any shorter higher intensity workouts? They can be more effective at shifting a bit of weight then a longer less intense one. I say this as I also have a peloton and would do maybe 3 20 min workouts a week (where I almost feel like I've died) along with a dance class and that seems to be plenty for me.

TorturedParentsDepartment · 25/11/2024 07:34

I'm down about 2lb this week - been a bit higher on the loss but it was a couple of "boingy pounds" that don't really count cos they pop on and off for a week or so before they'll go completely.

alwaysscared · 25/11/2024 12:59

@peonym I have exercised a lot, I do 45mins a day cycling and 10mins arms and light weights a day. I am burning at least 500cal a day.
I'm not having a bad diet which is what is so frustrating.
I weighed yesterday and was down a kg, weighed today and I've put 1lb back on. Bloody annoying.

alwaysscared · 25/11/2024 13:00

@peonym I am doing 2 20min cycles and then a 5min cool down ride, so they are pretty intense

alwaysscared · 25/11/2024 13:25

Please someone help me understand the TDEE calculations. Here is what mine says below, I don't understand, if I was 500 below that it would be 2166 cals per day, which can't be right. What does this all mean?!

Mounjaro / Wegovy with > 5st / 30kg to lose: Thread 4
SilenceInside · 25/11/2024 13:33

What site did you use to calculate the TDEE @alwaysscared ? I've found that various ones give different numbers, often down to how they define the level of exercise.

EricTheGardener · 25/11/2024 13:41

@alwaysscared that looks about right to me. I'm 5 ft 7, was almost exactly the same starting weight as you (226) and mine came out at just over 2,000 because I put in 'sedentary' for exercise. You're another two levels up from sedentary at 'moderate' and that accounts for the extra calories you need.

I've since lost 17 pounds and it's gone down to 1900.
