I’m 98lbs down now and soooo ready to hit 100! Found this belt in my wardrobe the other day…it’s never been worn because it was always too tight!

Wow! That's got to be 8-10 inches of spare belt, is that right? Well done you!

Timetofindme · 23/01/2025 21:46

@PrincessPeache that's incredible! Must feel amazing!

PrincessPeache · 23/01/2025 22:22

@InfoSecInTheCity @Timetofindme thank you both so much! It really shocked me. I’m useless at measurements but I’ve gone from a size 24 to a 16 so I’m happy! Three more stone to go which should take me to a really comfy size 12.

Arglefraster · 24/01/2025 01:18

@MooBaggage I'm a wide size 9!
Did you get lots of chat about how important dainty feet are with a load of Cinderella crap thrown in too 🤣

It's so hard to throw off the mother crap - she hates my appearance so very much & I find her joy when I lose some weight so upsetting I've self sabotaged in the past 🙈

Arglefraster · 24/01/2025 01:22

@InfoSecInTheCity oh that's wonderful news congratulations. I really hope they don't cut you off it would be madness.

So good to read everyone's successes or see in the case of @PrincessPeache wow!!

OMG me too! the minute my Mum (or anyone, actually) starts to compliment me on losing weight, my self sabotage kicks in so strongly and I'm almost determined to put it back on, plus some.... This has happened all my life and I'm scared about it kicking in again, so am hoping the physical effects of MJ (feeling full, no food noise etc.) will help prevent it.

I'm really trying to badge this to myself as being a medical intervention that my body needs, rather than just me wanting to lose weight, if that makes sense. I've got a host of chronic health stuff that requires me to take lifetime medication, so I'm seeing it as just another thing I can help my body with, to help me live a bit longer!

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 24/01/2025 09:25

Love all these NSVs.

@MooBaggage and @Arglefraster with apologies in advance to your bank balances, Otto and Ivy do the most fabulous shoes for big feet!

I have just seen the worst MJ behaviour on Tik Tok, someone who injects their extra dose on top of their regular dose at the same time!! She’s on 12.5mg!!! 25mg of MJ!!!!!

She periodically comes up on my feed and has always been a bit sketchy in what she does with MJ but I cannot believe she is doing it!!

I am just genuinely horrified and baffled!

SilenceInside · 24/01/2025 10:23

@Darlinghag that is such a massive overdose over the max of 15mg. Do you think there's any chance that she's chatting nonsense for attention? Was there any recognition that anything over 15mg has the potential to make you very unwell?

Darlinghag · 24/01/2025 10:47

No, she definitely did it. I’m being rude here, but she is not particularly educated or inclined to educate herself re: MJ.

She is aware its ‘wrong’, she doesn’t care. I think she uses it to starve for a week to boost losses. She doesn’t watch what she eats in any way as far as I can tell, either in terms of calories or healthier choices. Oddly, she’s spoken about costs being prohibitive so you’d think she would want to stretch it a little!!

Her losses aren’t extraordinary though! 4 stone in 30ish week. Don’t get me wrong, its a lot generally, but given she has zoomed up the doses and is double dosing every 4th week (this is the second time I’ve seen it but last time was a while ago at a much lower dose!) it doesn’t feel much worth it.

I expect once she’s off it, it won’t last.

Sad, really! She tags her pharmacy some times so how they haven’t cut her off I don’t know!!

gimmemounjaro · 24/01/2025 10:53

Wow 25mg is really crazy, that kind of thing gives us all a bad name! I wonder what the side effects are like 😬

Don't know what's going on with me at the mo but I seem to have stalled and always be starving. I have lost about 20% of my starting weight so maybe this could be the moment when my body freaks out and tries to regain? Anybody been there? I'm hoping I can ride it out and fix this as my new set weight for further losses 🤞

But man, I could absolutely murder some chips right now 😬

I have never lost this much before so all new territory.

I'm a size 9 in shoes too - and as I didn't wear shoes for much of my childhood (normal where I grew up) my feet are wide.

I absolutely expect my feet will be getting a bit smaller. Already my hands and fingers are slimmer and much stronger.

Darlinghag · 24/01/2025 11:22

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping oh i do agree!

@RobinEllacotStrike funny where it comes off right?? Rings, bracelets/watch and my shoes have all been impacted haha! I am realising how small i am, under the fat!!

Is it Oushk by any chance? They seem to attract some odd people

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/01/2025 11:49

@gimmemounjaro I feel like I've not lost since early December. Yet I am still slowly shrinking.

I've lost 20% of my starting body weight now - so I do think the idea that we have periods of settling in or rebalancing is something.

NSV - I can confirm my waist muscles have been located and are present & correct!!! I can feel them now especially in my morning yoga. Especially on the side and back on my waist - Ive still got a fat stomach but I can feel the muscles at the side & back. Its been a while & I love them!

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/01/2025 11:51

@Darlinghag I am enjoying how strong my fingers and hands are now too! Its like before they were just there, but now I can feel them & they enjoy a good stretch and flex. And they are much stronger - but that is probably from all the yoga. We spend a lot of time on our hands.

I have never lost this much before so all new territory.

I've lost 20% too.
But I'm at a place I've been before - so I am comfortable here.
I've not been below 99kg (apart from a few months back in 2012) for any meaningful lenght of time. Maybe when I was 40 before I was pregnant with my oldest daughter 18 years ago? I don't have weight records going back that far.

I don't know the science but I am feeling very comfortable at this weight - it would be great if it became an interim "set point".

The next part of this weight loss journey - going down in the 90 kg's and even below really is taking me into uncharted waters.

I continue to focus on being well hydrated (some days I can forget to drink much), eat a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise.

All else will follow. I can see other women on MN talking about bigger losses - they have been where we are and kept going.

I trust the process.

SilenceInside · 24/01/2025 12:01

Friday seems to have rolled around quickly this week.

Current stats at the end of week 29:
SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 96.5kg (15st 2 lbs), was 97.3kg (15st 4lbs) last week
GW: 90kg (14st 2 lbs) fourth interim goal.
Total of 94 pounds down, or 42.5kg.

I am still on 7.5mg which I have been for 19 weeks now. My weekly losses seem to have settled down to -2 pounds or so each week. I have no side effects at the moment and have suppression but not overly suppressed appetite. I am a little unsure whether to order another 7.5mg pen (this was injection 3 out of the current one) or consider moving up to 10mg. It's tempting to chase larger losses each week, but a steady -2lbs each week is a perfectly decent weight loss, just slower than it has been at various points. But it would be annoying if I order a 7.5mg and then find that it's becoming less and less effective. Also, the slowing weight loss is probably mainly due to the fact that I'm no longer in such a large calorie deficit each day, due to losing the weight that I already have and my TDEE reducing.

I wonder what other people would do in my circumstances - stick with 7.5 or try moving up to 10?

NearlyNewHip · 24/01/2025 12:09

I've moved to 10mg and my first jab will be this evening. 7.5 wasn't 'my' dose and did very little for me in terms of supression. This month, incl bonus dose, I've been hungry and picky nearly every day. Still enough supression to say no or have a few nuts instead but was used to not having those feelings at all (only towards the end of the week or on last dose of that pen) on 2.5 and 5

gimmemounjaro · 24/01/2025 12:39

Wise words Robin, thank you 🙏

I am happy here too, although I have been a bit thinner. I am just wondering what will happen next! Now I think about it, I lost probably 20% or maybe a bit less in the first lockdown and then put it all back on and more, so that kind of makes sense. I feel like this is a bit of a test and I need to stay on top of it, no matter how tempted.

Orangesandlemons77 · 24/01/2025 12:39

I'm on 10mg and think it is helpful, I don't have the nausea I had going up to 5mg but don't feel that hungry and it doesn't seem to wear off as much, could be an idea.

Darlinghag · 24/01/2025 13:12

@Orangesandlemons77 yes it is!! Maybe you have seen who I am referring to looool!

@RobinEllacotStrike amazing!! Do you think I could try Yoga at home btw? Been considering it but we have no classes locally. I am a complete novice, and unfit aside from dog walking!!

congrats @SilenceInside !!

another little victory for me today, I am have purchased a size 16 jacket! Bought it expecting it to be a bit too small as its not weather appropriate quite yet but it fits!!! I’m still a 20 on bottom, for zero stretch items, 18 if its got some give or a looser style, but on top im now firmly moving into 16-18 ranges, and longer items are trickier because if i want it to fit lower down its too big up top! What a privilege that feels like.

giggly · 24/01/2025 13:49

I’m a bit of a lurker, started my MJ journey in June at 153kg, my heaviest ever. Had down Saxanda two years ago and lost 2 stones but couldn’t afford to keep going at that time.
Stayed on 7.5 mg since Sept and moved to 10mg last night as 1kg loss since Christmas.

Now at 127.3kg so slow and steady loss with the bonus of very little saggy skin.
I thought long and hard about going up as I do get various side effects, dear God, the freezing cold one gets me the most. Constipation and nausea I can handle but the cold🥶🥶

NSV I can now bend and tie my laces from the front and quickly working my way through clothes.
i can’t wait to wear clothes that I really like as opposed to ones that suit my body shape if that makes sense.

Most importantly I feel that I have lost lots of visceral fat and feel so much healthier now.
Taget weight another 5 stone to go,

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/01/2025 14:14

@SilenceInside I like Doctor G's videos. I can imagine sitting opposite him in his office & he has a lovely voice.

One of his tips re dosing is "low & slow" - take your time & don't rush through increases:

@Darlinghag yes you can absolutely do yoga at home! Where you start would depend on your experience - as a novice start very gently. Take your time, pace yourself, start very slowly and gently - the best thing is regular practice. So 30 minutes a few times a week is better than 2 hours on Sunday.

There is a yoga topic on MN - many women like Adriene's YT videos: https://www.youtube.com/@yogawithadriene

For beginners https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLui6Eyny-UzzWwB4h9y7jAzLbeuCUczAl&si=w3yUcsrvSyprRvJL

When I went back to yoga at the gym when I started MJ I could barely bend forward. Now a standing forward bend is a rest postion. So start slowly, be gentle, and go for it. Remember yoga is non-competitive, and you must listen to your body. You might feel uncomfortable at first but things change fairly quickly. Start basic and enjoy the "progress". Yoga is a journey not a destination - in that sense its the perfect accompaniement to MJ.
