@claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer Just wanted to second all that @MountKilimounjaro has said.

I was 18 stone 6lbs and know exactly what you mean about setting a goal. It just seems such a huge thing to accomplish at that point.
I only set a goal to get to a healthy BMI once I could see this really was working and I believed I can do it.

I'm now 13 stone 1lb and very excited to almost see 12 something on my scales. About 2.5 stone to go until I reach my goal.

Good luck with it. You'll get great support on here if you need it.

InfoSecInTheCity · 23/01/2025 08:14

I have goals upon goals upon goals. I try to mark an achievement every few weeks just to give myself something that feels reachable. Having said that I'm now within spitting distance of the goal I thought I'd never reach 'healthy BMI' and that's just plain weird.

Well I cracked this morning and weighed myself...! I needed to tomorrow anyway, to order my 2nd lot, but I mainly weighed myself as I just wanted to see if it was working - it's such a mind fuck to feel full but be losing weight!

I've lost 5lb since I started 9 days ago - obvs will be mainly water, but it was encouraging to see a drop.

I love reading the posts from those of you who are much further along the road than me - for people to have lost so much weight and be near their goal is brilliant - I'd honestly given up hope that anything would work, so to have hope again is amazing.

I'm going out for a meal tonight with family and am not even worried about it (this kind of thing would have massively stressed me out in the past because I'd be worried about giving in/losing control) because I know I won't want to eat tons and will just be like a 'normal' and have a nice meal.... 😮

I haven't had alcohol since the day I injected - the longest time for me in years (I can't remember when I was dry for more than a few days) and I'm just not missing it.

Onwards and upwards! 😊

Darlinghag · 23/01/2025 09:17

Congrats @WafflingDreamer !

a new scale victory for me today, i am now under 100kg - 99.8 to be exact!! Woohoo!

claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer · 23/01/2025 09:22

@MountKilimounjaro @SilenceInside @Snozzlemaid thank you all! Hopefully once I get going properly and can see it working that healthy BMI will seem more in reach!

Actually had a nice surprise this morning when I woke up and weighed myself- have managed to lose half a stone in the last couple of weeks without realising, probably because I’ve gone back to being vegetarian, so my starting weight is in fact 18 stone 5

I think goal weights tend to change quite a lot particularly for those of us with a lot to lose. I just went randomly for a BMI of 24 but seeing other people's journeys I potentially may want to be another 7lb or so under that to give myself a bit of a buffer for my weight to go up and down.

I'm 41 and I've pretty certainly had a BMI above 30 since I was 11, I have no idea what these weights will look like on my actual body so as I get closer I may play around with my target a bit more.

InfoSecInTheCity · 23/01/2025 09:48

You're exactly like me @WafflingDreamer first went to weight watchers when I was 11 yrs old and over 11 stone. I have absolutely no idea what a healthy BMI me looks or feels like. So I have a target of hitting BMI 25 and then a target of hitting the 'ideal weight' for my height according to what an online calculator said. We'll see where reality lies and I'll stop when I think it's right.

gimmemounjaro · 23/01/2025 10:04

I think sometimes it depends on how old you are too - my 50+ body might look and feel best with a bit more to it than it would in its 20s. Not that I would know!

Arglefraster · 23/01/2025 10:37

Jag day 13 & I'm 13kg down 🎉
Amazing to do the work but actually get the results, it's a new experience!

I haven't even worked out what weight a healthy BMI is for me 🙈 I'm just focusing on bringing my BMI down bit by bit. Started at 52 & now 46...

It was Rosemary Conley when I was 11 (& looking at photos I wasn't overweight then I've just got the big bones & broad shoulders from my father's side of the family - which horrified my tiny mother)

Always goes back to Philip Larkin doesn't it 🙃 (www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/48419/this-be-the-verse)

Arglefraster · 23/01/2025 10:39

Oh & because I love reading other people's NSVs - my tops are all magically longer!! I thought I'd put the wrong T-shirt on but no they just all hit lower on my hip now there's less of me in the way 🎉

Yep - couldn't agree more....! My Mum is a tiny person both in height and weight, whereas I'm a Big Girl and I remember her being horrified when I moved from a size 12 to size 14 when I was in my teens - she sent me off to weightwatchers straight away - the weight I was then was in the middle of my healthy BMI range and I've got 8 stone to lose before I get back to there - but to her, it was the beginning of the end and I'd never look good once I hit 'the teen' sizes, as she used to say... 🙄

Sigh. But it's never too late to put all that nonsense to one side and focus on just being healthy, right?! 😊

And I'm also hoping that my size 10 extra wide feet might shrink too - you can but hope!! 😁

Best NSV ever!

Just got the results of my latest blood test and my HbA1C number is 5.6% or 38 nMol down from 11% or 97n nMol in August last year.

I'm now in the non-Diabetic range!!

Have a call with diabetes nurse next week and hoping this doesn't mean they cut off my MJ supply, will have to keep my fingers crossed. Might do a bit of preemptive investigation for if anyone will privately prescribe given my BMI is now 26, think this would potentially be allowed with some as part of a 'Maintenance' programme.

roughtyping · 23/01/2025 18:11

Really enjoying reading everyone's NSVs Smile

First weigh in after jag, lost 5.2lbs which I'm happy with. BMI has gone down a point too which is good.

I'm actually not 100% sure whether 2.5 has worked for me or not as I've been so ill all week, I was ill just before the jab and had lost my appetite so could be partially down to that too. It's been a good boost though

WeAllHaveWings · 23/01/2025 18:19

Well done @InfoSecInTheCity , great news!

If you have details of your previous prescriptions some private providers should accept you, but I hope you keep getting it for a while longer through the NHS to support you longer term!

WeAllHaveWings · 23/01/2025 18:23

@roughtyping I was the same when I started last year in June. Injected and the next day felt awful, two days later did a test and I had my first covid infection! No idea if the severe fatigue was covid, MJ or a combination of both! I was bed ridden for a week and lost a very unhealthy 10lbs!

WeAllHaveWings · 23/01/2025 18:30

My PJ tops are long enough they could be nighties now which is a good thing as the bottoms are so baggy they are at risk of falling down!. The tops will save ds's blushes! 🤣

I refuse to buy more until my weight settles.

Time4changeagain · 23/01/2025 18:36

@InfoSecInTheCity
That’s amazing!!

claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer · 23/01/2025 18:48

@InfoSecInTheCity that’s amazing!! Well done

My first day has gone pretty well so far, although I just had tea with the kids and started getting a bit queasy. Also gassy which is a problem for me as I can’t burp! So my throat just gurgles away as it slowly leaks out of me

Timetofindme · 23/01/2025 19:45

I don't have a goal weight yet - just trying to celebrate losses on the way down. I've discovered swopping between stone, kgs and lbs helps as you get extras!

Weigh day yesterday and I'm under 200lbs (sneaked in at 199.6 but it's still under and stuck today!). Looking back at mfp - I think the last time I was under 200lbs was in 2017!

No one bar you guys knows as I don't share my weight with anyone but I had to as I'm so pleased!

gimmemounjaro · 23/01/2025 19:48

Nice one @Timetofindme, well done 👏👏👏

Entering One-derland was one of my favourite achievements. It just feels like such a significant number to break through.

RobinEllacotStrike · 23/01/2025 20:16

On clothes I also find the sleeves on tops are longer now.

Nice one @Timetofindme & congratulations @InfoSecInTheCity

FattyBumBumNoMore · 23/01/2025 20:55

Jab number 3 for me tonight. I’ve also ordered my next pen and I’m going to stick with 2.5mg. I feel I have a good balance of suppression but moments where I need willpower.

I’m finding the Willpowder protein powder amazingly helpful. I wanted to keep things as unprocessed as possible (I’m no angel, I wasn’t hitting over 18st before Xmas for nothing!) and it’s totally sorting my afternoon dip. Mixed in Greek yogurt with frozen cherries, chocolate powder, I’m hooked!

I was just shy of 7lb off this morning so I hope to make it tomorrow for official weigh day. Whatever, I have literally NEVER felt like I could actually achieve this. So excited for this year ☺️

PrincessPeache · 23/01/2025 21:07

I’m 98lbs down now and soooo ready to hit 100! Found this belt in my wardrobe the other day…it’s never been worn because it was always too tight!
