Owly yes, I am v concerned about what happens to my head when I stop. I feel that although my willpower is crap, I'm developing a much better idea of how to eat and fuel my body properly but after half a decade on the planet I still can't seem to understand my own head. As I'm on MJ for the foreseeable, hopefully it will give me chance to develop understanding there too.

NippyCrab · 10/11/2024 09:45

Morning all, aw it's lovely to see posts from everyone else that's not been on in a while. The thread moves really quickly, we love a wee blether in between MJ.

@Mum0ntherun no wonder you feel low! Be easier on yourself, job hunting and all that goes with it is depressing. Applying, interviews and the constant waiting! This is what this thread is for, I know some might disagree but I feel that while we are on this journey life factors will impact both negatively and positively on weight loss. Xx

@AdeloreSmore have an amazing day, my friend is heading there today too, jealous xx

@Princessandthepie it's when you look at it like that you realise don't you? Imagine carrying your DD about all day strapped to you, that's what we did before our amazing losses. No wonder my hips are not screaming now 😂 Good idea re the park after dropping off.

@owlyboo I will thank you I'm looking forward to my wee date with DH today 💕 once the wee one has been at the vet we will see whether it's okay to go or not.

@Changinghabits1973 it's the vet I'm afraid, 11am we've to take her in. I thought she was picking up last night but this morning she won't look at ham or chicken. We had to lift her out of bed for the loo and she vomited up what was like orange stuff. The vet is our own one today whew. Xx

@WorriedRelative whoop on the bikini 👙 xx

MabelSpan · 10/11/2024 10:26

@Mum0ntherun Be kind to yourself, you are trying to lose weight, looking for a new job and battling the nightmare that is peri! You are fab, you are doing incredibly well. You havent given up. Keep on, keeping on and in time you will look back and be so proud of yourself😊

Congrats on your fab losses @ChunkyMunky @WorriedRelative @Princessandthepie

@NippyCrab Sending cuddles to your girl, I hope she feels better soon and the vet can get to the bottom of what is wrong. Its so hard when they are poorly😔

weaseleyes · 10/11/2024 11:00

Good luck at the vet @NippyCrab

@Princessandthepie might it help you in the face of their morning twattishness if you told yourself the walking was for their health as much as yours? It would be true and sometimes righteous conviction can put you on a roll when overcoming whining and bitching!

owlyboo · 10/11/2024 11:02

@Mum0ntherun sounds like a tough time, you should be extra proud of the weight you've lost during a stressful time!

Well done on the loss @ChunkyMunky

Happy Sunday all.

NippyCrab · 10/11/2024 12:16

We have a very poorly girl here, she has a temperature of 104 so bloods are being sent to the vet hospital in Glasgow and she has had an antibiotic injection and got tablets here. She to go back first thing in the morning for a temperature check. I really thought she was perking up last night when she ate some chicken and had some water. In 2020 she was very ill and developed an abscess on her neck, her symptoms today are the same but there's no obvious sign of injury or lumps. So worried about my wee girl xx

AuntieDote · 10/11/2024 12:38

Wow, new thread and already 8 pages in! Reporting in rather late!

@NippyCrab oh I’m sorry to hear that, I hope your girl is on the mend soon, it’s so worrying when they’re so ill.

@Mum0ntherun - I identify with a lot of that, go easy on yourself you’re doing great!

I’m still plodding on. Lost another pound or so. Was 3 lbs yesterday which I didn’t quite believe so looked today and sure enough was only a pound. Either way it’s in the right direction!

Still feel generally crap most of the time. Stomach issues seem to have largely settled touch wood, but the fatigue is quite extreme. We’ve all got colds here too. I’m not eating much at all, but also not eating particularly well or the right things - I just feel shit all the time and struggling because the sort of things that I’ve always eaten as healthy options (lentils, pulses etc) seem to be the things that make me sick now. I actually didn’t eat meat for years and only ever wanted to eat it occasionally once I started again so eating so much of it because I’m struggling for other protein ideas isn’t sitting the best with me. And all the nice salads etc I was making at the beginning just give me the ick now. Most things give me the ick - ‘icky’ is a pretty good description for how I feel most of the time!

But on the upside I’ve hit the point where everyone is commenting/ complimenting the difference - it doesn’t feel that noticeable to me still but pretty much everyone I’ve seen in the last few days has commented/ made a bit of a fuss about it. I never used to understand when people said they didn’t like it when people commented on weight loss, but honestly I was at a family event on Friday and I felt a bit flustered and uncomfortable- I just don’t know what to say when people keep going on about it! It’s not that big of a change honestly, I think a big part of it was that I was wearing a different style of outfit to my normal quite mumsy style! I got influenced on tik tok haha, so probably looked different for that reason too.

20bloodypounds · 10/11/2024 13:45

@WorriedRelative I'm also going on holiday in just over a week and determined to have a good week after staying the same for the last fortnight. At least I know I've been eating healthily. Holiday destination is not a foodie destination - a couple of weeks of rice and veg will either seem me with a continued loss or will undo some of the progress. Also not likely to be much alcohol, so that's a good thing. And if that doesn't make it sound like much of a fun holiday, it's more of a cultural destination. Definitely no bikini here!

@Mum0ntherun it is tough when so many things are contributing to your mood Flowers If you'd not been taking MJ, many of those things would still be happening, you might still be feeling low BUT you would also be 2 stone heavier. Maybe even more if your comfort was to eat. The next three months of winter will pass anyway, on this journey you may well have lost another stone or two. That's got to be goot for a brighter start to spring 2025.

@NippyCrab I was looking after my friend's tiny puppy last year and pup got very sick. Vet advised scrambled egg which I had to feed the pup from my fingers to tempt her. Apparently the dog (who does not eat any human food) still goes a bit crazy if someone is having scrambled egg. She must have positive associations in her little doggy brain. Hope your one recovers soon.

@AuntieDote How about soup? I made a sweet potato and peanut curry and blended the leftovers into soup. Broccoli and cheese soup? I had a recipe for tomatoe soup that includes egg. It tasted just like Heinz - if you like that.

Anyone here able to answer a question about the Oushk delivery packaging. My first Oushk package is being delivered on Tuesday but I will be out for part of the day. If dh gets the package (he doesn't know I'm doing this) is there anything on the outside that would alert him to it being a pharmacy delivery? Also do Royal Mail give you a delivery time? TIA

Had a lovely day out with dgd yesterday for afternoon tea, many cakes were consumed and her wee face was shining with happiness. I tried a little of everything (except scones which I brought home for dh) but only very small amounts, and more of the savouries than the sweets. STS this week. Onwards and hopefully downwards.

Princessandthepie · 10/11/2024 14:17

Oh I agree but right now, I think I'd rather step in front of a freight train than deal with these 2 sods at the moment! My DD has just had an almighty temper tantrum whilst out shopping and my DS has done nothing but moan like Victor Meldrew at every step even though we were out shopping for his poxy, cost a bloody fortune school trip! And we didn't get everything we need because of the tantrum so I now have to go shopping again.

If I wasn't so bloody scared of having a hangover, I'd honestly piss off to the pub right now! I'm so annoyed with everyone and everything!!

FlappingMadly · 10/11/2024 14:26

That sounds like a lovely outing @20bloodypounds

Oh @NippyCrab that sounds scary! 🤞🤞 good news comes soon. Big hugs.

@Mum0ntherun oh I hear you. Job searching is a thankless endless beast. Get some serious exercise in - it’s great for attitude. Big hugs. 2 stones by the way is fantastic! 💃💃💃

@AuntieDote beans and lentils are your friend for protein and fibre.

SilverSprings510 · 10/11/2024 14:29

My stomach has been dreadful all weekend - the only thing I’ve done differently was eat a protein bar Friday afternoon! Barely managed to eat anything yesterday but had a bit today.

I’m doing my last 5mg this week + a bit of the bonus to take me to around 6-7mg. I just need to work out how much to get out with the syringe, as the full bonus dose will take me over 10mg I think?

FlappingMadly · 10/11/2024 14:31

Hi @20bloodypounds I'm with Oushk ..
I take it you have done Royal Mail as opposed to DPD with a pin?

Mine is being delivered Tuesday as well !!! (Second pen - originally with different supplier..)
Last month i had an email from Royal Mail saying that they had got my package and was due for delivery that day and gave me a time slot of between 7am and 11am (but this time slot is given to me every time i get sent anything from Royal Mail !!), think it depends on your postcode and area you live in etc...

So far as the packaging : my previous supplier it would be in a cardboard box and packaged well inside that, but with Oushk it wasn't in a box - it was a clear plastic packaging and then inside was when it was wrapped in the wool and ice packs around it - as far as i can recollect it didn't have the pharmacy on it; but it said refrigerated item... I hope that helps x

Changinghabits1973 · 10/11/2024 14:39

@NippyCrab - have only just got home... am thinking of you and your pooch; I bet you are so pleased that you took her to the Vet now and they have given something for it - hopefully, fingers crossed, once the antibiotics start to kick in she will feel a bit more like herself and be tempted with some nice chicken again; thinking of you and sending virtual hugs - i have been there before when your pooch is poorly and can totally understand the emotions xx

AuntieDote · 10/11/2024 15:06

FlappingMadly · 10/11/2024 14:31

@AuntieDote oh that’s crap! I wonder why they make you sick. The volume?

I think I just struggle to digest them. I’ve always had IBS but MJ has definitely exacerbated that a lot. It used to be meat, particularly red meat, and anything oily that set me off (I’d get the sulphur burps and sickness even without the mj) but it seems to be lentils/ pulses etc now. Googling suggests they can be hard to digest so makes sense I suppose. Frustrating though.

AuntieDote · 10/11/2024 15:07

@20bloodypounds yes soup is a good one; I’ve been having it a fair bit but I need to venture out from my standard veggie (used to be veggie lentil haha) - yours sounds lovely!

owlyboo · 10/11/2024 15:15

@NippyCrab hope she gets better quickly.

Mum0ntherun · 10/11/2024 16:07

Hi Lovelies

thank you so much for the virtual kindness and encouragement - it was so appreciated and so needed. My entire life I’ve had to be the strong one, the one in charge and sometimes it’s hard to admit you need help or support but this little part of the virtual world is lovely to be part of.

🤗🤗😘😘

Changinghabits1973 · 10/11/2024 16:12

@Mum0ntherun we all need kindness love and support... no shame in asking for help, support and guidance whatsoever and i have had so many chapters of my life where i was the strong one - but the last 2 years i haven't been and have asked for help from professionals to help me with it - this thread is like everyone's saving grace i think.... i would be lost now without it on this journey and the world would be a better place if more people showed kindness and love.. tomorrow is a new day hun xx

weaseleyes · 10/11/2024 17:31

My holiday will be mostly culture, and probably lots of walking around sightseeing which I hope will help keep me on track, because I want to be able to try lots of local food.

We have a few days at the coast though and I am determined to have some beach time, hence the new bikini!

NippyCrab · 10/11/2024 19:57

Hi all, thank you for all the thoughts, shes still poorly. She wont eat, I've tried scrambled egg, poached chicken, ham, I have a tin of puppy butchers in the cupboard so I'm going to try and small bit of that. I think of she eats a morsel she will eat more. She ate chicken after the vet but doesn't want to now. She's drank some water though and had a piddle. I need her to take these antibiotics shortly. Xx

NippyCrab · 10/11/2024 20:22

Ps, I'm not in control of emotional eating at all! At 3.75 and I have had a lot of sugar today and just eaten salted caramel milk chocolate covered almonds! So I'm going to Jab and additional 1.25 tomorrow and do 5mg going forward. 😕
