@MargoLivebetter we also went in the summer and as it's on the moors it was still freezing and it's all neurodivergent kids so all bouncing off each other bless them but it's a great setting and resource and only about 4-6 of them at a time so lots of adult help.

lookathatbookcase · 13/11/2024 16:03

@owlyboo Oh wow, that sounds great (if chilly). I'm off mushroom foraging at the weekend with friends and a guide so hoping for similar excitement!

NippyCrab · 13/11/2024 16:03

Hey, I managed my step goal on my walk, and 4 miles. @owlyboo A forest school sounds amazing, we have a little forest nursery near me and it's so cute seeing the children pottering about. They have a little wild garden and various projects on the go. It's flipping cold now, we've had fog for a couple of days and it's coming down again brrrrrr 🥶😶‍🌫️
I walked an opposite route from my usual so I was going uphill a lot and I also did some bum dancing in the van while driving to Chaka Khan haha. I will have glutes of steel 💪 i do need to focus on some arms exercises. Any tips would be gratefully received. All my physio rehab is lower body focused because of my back.

@SilverSprings510 I've screenshot your menu, I need to vary mine, I'm a same thing every day mostly. I have the slimming eats book and i really should be trying out new things to boost my metabolism. X

@Changinghabits1973 that's such a lovely thing to say that you are glowing, listen lady, don't focus on what you still have to lose, focus on what an amazing journey you have had so far. Before you know it you will be 15st 7lbs then 15 then wooohooo the next chapter of 14's 💗👏x

@Blondeshavemorefun how's your nausea been? X

Changinghabits1973 · 13/11/2024 16:52

Well, today has been marginally better than yesterday ! Royal Mail still not delivered my Oushk... I rang Oushk.. they were great - need to ring them back at 9am tomorrow and if still not then they are sending another out to be with me on Friday ... can't fault them - will see what tomorrow brings with any packages; Oushk said that if it's cloudy or discoloured in any way to let them know also as i was concerned as it's been in transit since Monday....

I have been on the hunt, like a SERIOUS hunt, for salt n pepper squid recently ! I don't know why, don't even ask me as i don't really even like fish (unless it's battered from the chippy !!) but i am craving it and haven't been able to find any anywhere, all out of stock - but had a stroke of luck at my nearby Lidl earlier and they have only gone and launched it as a new item so in the freezer it was and so it's nicely doing in the oven as we speak with some chopped salad, carrots and celery... I hope it was worth the wait ! x

CrazyGoatLady · 13/11/2024 17:19

@owlyboo I would have loved to go to your neurodivergent forest school! Sounds fab.

@NippyCrab well done getting your steps in.

@Changinghabits1973 what a lovely compliment! Glad you're feeling better today. Salt and pepper squid - yum!

@lookathatbookcase mushroom foraging sounds fun!

I have news. Weighed in at the GP surgery, blood sugars in middle of normal range even not long after lunch, woohoo! AND...have just hit BMI 25 too which feels a HUGE milestone.

I'd like to lose another 2.5kg or so, but the weight loss has slowed down these past few weeks since I hit 70kg, it's been on average 0.5-0.75kg a week. Not a bad thing if they come off slowly I guess and it's also telling me I'm almost at an appropriate weight that can be maintained without starvation rations and I can start thinking about maintenance plans. Got a consultation with Oushk on Monday.

Right, off to feed the goaties and the chickens and then to the gym!

owlyboo · 13/11/2024 17:31

@CrazyGoatLady @NippyCrab @lookathatbookcase
We are very lucky to have the opportunity to attend. It's once a week and mixes activities such as whittling/cooking on the camp fire/fire making/art etc with discussing the brain and how it works and how we can use that knowledge to notice and acknowledge when we (the kids) are getting fizzy (hyped up/aggressive etc) and what strategies they can use to try to get back to a grounded place.

Brilliant but cold 😂 oh and you stink when you get home of the camp fire 🔥

owlyboo · 13/11/2024 17:31

Oh and @CrazyGoatLady that's amazing re blood sugars and bmi!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2024 18:20

@NippyCrab yes fine thanks. Seems was just that one day. But that was. A bad day lol. Don't like that feeling

Shudders !

NippyCrab · 13/11/2024 19:11

@CrazyGoatLady aw wow those are superb results, exciting too about the maintenance call it will be interesting to hear what they say. Ah chickens too, I miss my chickens, when i left exh I had to give my chickens away. They are funny little things aren't they.

@Changinghabits1973 yes she's much the same but not worse, she's back tomorrow to the vet for a follow up. She's eating small amounts though so that's good x

weaseleyes · 13/11/2024 19:15

Thank you @weaseleyes @owlyboo @NippyCrab @Blondeshavemorefun @MargoLivebetter @Changinghabits1973 you're all very kind 😊 sending lots of MJ success fairy dust to everyone here that we all end up where we want to be 🏆

20bloodypounds · 13/11/2024 23:05

@CrazyGoatLady fantastic news! There is so much snide sniping about weight loss medication, but look where it's got you! So much healthier than without it. Well done.

Well prunes eventually did the trick for me. I feel satisfyingly 'empty' in my gut Grin

I'm in my 60s and should do more about potential muscle loss / bone density. But my SILs are zealots and every damn time I meet them they tell me I should get a PT. Being a contrary bugger I'm now resistant to resistance exercise (I hate being told what to do by SILs). I need to get over myself, don't I?

@MargoLivebetter I know what you mean about the pressure to eat. I organise a work-related Christmas lunch event which has always been at some fabulous foodie venue. I am really struggling to feel enthusiastic about booking for this year - every menu is making me feel ill.

Fuffedoff · 14/11/2024 07:36

Morning,

I have just weighed myself and finally 0.4kg off. Yes it's most likely water weight but it makes me feel better.

I was in the office all day at work yesterday and just was not hungry.

Everyone went to the shop to get lunch and I just went for the walk with them. None of it appealed to me and actually made me feel a bit yak. Maybe it's because the food hygiene rating is 1 🙄(everyone says how good it is though, it's popular etc etc)

My car went in the garage yesterday morning and I never heard anything back about it so I remain car-less and I was suppose to be going out on visits today. I'm going to nip down shortly and see if it's actually ready.

So stressful!

NippyCrab · 14/11/2024 08:21

Morning, urgh @Fuffedoff not having your car is really stressful when you need it for work! I hate it when mechanics are so laid back like oh we've not had a look yet, meanwhile you're frazzled 🙄
@20bloodypounds this is how I feel when DH goes on about Christmas plans, menus overload and the lets make this meal at Christmas... aye no bother DH 🤢

I've also had the pleasure of a substantial 💩 feels amazing! When did we get to loving having a poo baby 😂

Little poppet is still unwell, vets at 2.30pm today.

I have a sore toe, it's a Blister gone unattended and infected and now shredded. My problem is that the boys are constantly standing on this one effing toe! Why!! Stand on my other toes 😂

I feel slimmer today, i can see a wee difference in the sides of the overhang belly, as if it's pulling up.

My Oushk order is coming today, RM so after reading the most recent reports about the delays I'm hoping it comes on time.

Azuresky68 · 14/11/2024 08:22

@CrazyGoatLady well done on getting to 25 BMI...so exciting after the long hard slog. Look forward to hearing about your maintenance plan. Good luck to everyone today as always. Currently on holiday but after jabbing 10 mg I don't fancy eating anything at all or drinking alcohol. I can really tell the difference on 10mg

Changinghabits1973 · 14/11/2024 08:26

Morning all - happy Thursday !!

Just checking in quickly before I am out for most of the day at meetings;

@NippyCrab morning lovely twinny - sorry to hear she is still unwell - love and virtual hugs to you and hopefully you may know something a bit later after the Vet....

But on a positive note pleased to hear the safe arrival of the baby !! 😂 I think i need to give birth too - and to a damn large one ! I am taking in the car with me today my packet of prunes !! But won't start on them until i am within an hour of getting home (just in case !!!!) x

Just picked up my car. They couldn't find anything wrong...

Sometimes when I'm driving it won't get into gear (when moving down/up) and I've had to pull over so many times, sometimes in not ideal places.

It's intermittent though but did happen more last week, numerous times.

They said they've been out and test drove it all yesterday and used to drive around a bit and they have not experienced it.

If it's to happen again, it's to go straight back in.

Argh!

In other works I had a big 💩and when I stepped back on scale, it said I put on 0.2kg hahahah. How does that work? (I'm not bothered about it)

MargoLivebetter · 14/11/2024 08:55

@20bloodypounds agree with you there. There is nothing about Christmas meals out or the actual dinner itself that I am looking forward to!

@Fuffedoff when the car won't go into gear have you tried raising and lowering the clutch again a few times while the car is in neutral. I realise that this is far from ideal when you are bowling along and it isn't a solution, but I have had cars where this happens sometimes and a few raises and lowering of the clutch will clear whatever is blocking the gear change.

NippyCrab · 14/11/2024 08:55

@Fuffedoff that sounds a total cop out by the garage, is it your usual one? The first thing to check would be your transmission fluid. Take it somewhere else, even if it's running fine for them they should do.basic checks. I really get mad at lazy garages! Can you tell ahha I worked in the motor trade for 20 years and the stories from various departments I could tell you...

@Changinghabits1973 good morning wee fellow prune twin. Please don't have the prunes unless you have an escape plan from your meetings haha. On Tuesday I had my breakfast with added pureed prunes and had a few before I left for my walk. I messaged DH to say my breakfast was lying heavy and I was panicking I would shit my pants on my walk lol 😆. My constipation isn't helped by my pain meds.

@Azuresky68 aw i hope you're having a lovely holiday regardless of the supression. Is it any warm and sunny location? 🌞
