Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

@QueenOfHiraeth I saw that article and it is more or less what I am doing after a discussion with my prescriber. I got to my GW end of October and have titrated down to 5mg. Now into my 3rd month and so far so good, I am a couple of pounds less than GW and feel great on it. I am going to stay on this dose for another couple of months and then go down to 2.5mg for a few months before coming off. I am hoping this 'resets' me after 30+ years of yo-yo dieting.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 12/01/2025 09:01

I can’t believe it but I’m now a healthy BMI. Weighed in this morning at 166.2lbs which makes my BMI 24.9. I can’t believe it after so many years of obesity. Mounjaro is amazing.

PermanentTemporary · 12/01/2025 09:22

🏆 @BellaCriesAndThatsAlright amazing. That's my goal.

Am still stuck on my post Christmas higher level. Too many catching up events with friends I didn't see at Christmas where I don't feel able not to eat. That's going to be something I have to work out for the post-MJ era.

Blimeyits2025already · 12/01/2025 09:55

@BellaCriesAndThatsAlright that's amazing! Well done! Bet you're buzzing!

letshavetea · 12/01/2025 10:02

@BellaCriesAndThatsAlright - well done. So pleased for you. @PermanentTemporary I’m in the same boat as you. Just keep going up and down the same pound! It’s very frustrating isn’t it? P

Paperwhite13 · 12/01/2025 10:13

Yaaay! Congratulations @BellaCriesAndThatsAlright ! Fantastic news
.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 12/01/2025 10:16

Thanks all! Annoyingly, I still have plenty of fat. I'm aiming to get to about BMI 22 but I'll see how I feel as I approach it. I increased by dose (to 8.5) to start the year after a couple of months of slow loss so I think that's what has kicked me back into weight loss. Well, that and dry January 😀

VioletsHeart · 12/01/2025 10:42

@QueenOfHiraeth and @FarriersGirl , that’s really interesting. It’s basically what I’ve planned for myself. 1.2lbs to go.

@BellaCriesAndThatsAlright fabulously well done! Getting to healthy weight is such an accomplishment

Hell;o - popping this question here rather than starting a new thread so I don't completely put off anyone thinking about starting. Have you of experienced really significant v&d on mounjaro? I am on my second week, injected on Thurs and experienced horrific v & d while out last night. Completely ruined a family night out and almost didn't make it to a bathroom. Then the toilet trips continued overnight every 75 mins till 8.45 this morning. I feel absolutely rotten and at this stage I think I just want this out with my body and can't imagine continuing. Out with the family was bad enough, what if it had been work??

I do have a potential trigger (I had a potato chorizo and veg hash for lunch and potentially the oiliness of the chorizo could have upset me but it was only about a quarter of a sausage). But again, I don't know if I'd want to continue if that level of vigilance was necessary...i had no interest in things like orlistat etc in the past for this reason.

I know both were possible side effects but I didn't think to this degree - thought more loose movements and some nausea. Anyone experienced similar? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 12/01/2025 11:33

@Phillister
Hi. It's really important that you seek medical advice from your doctor or your MJ provider, in case you've got an inflamed pancreas.

While a certain amount of D & V is experienced by some patients, severe cases should be assessed by a doctor.

As it's Sunday, you should call 111.

Gettingbysomehow · 12/01/2025 11:39

The courier hid my mounjaro package in my back garden behind a bush and didn't tell me it was there either by text, photo or note. I was actually in at the time it was delivered.
Medex said it had been delivered and I eventually found it. It had been there for the whole week.
I contacted Medex and they said it should be fine as long as the temperature hadn't exceeded 30 degrees. It's cold but not that cold as this is Somerset and there had been sunny days. The ice pack had melted.
It should be OK? I can't decide.

diian · 12/01/2025 11:41

I had D but not V about 4 times whilst on MJ. I am a teacher, so can't just run to the loo. I injected on a Wed and on Thurs evening the squits would start and I would dread Friday. I ended up titrating down. I was on 7.5mg, I went down to 5mg, the squits still happened, so I titrated down to 3.75 and injected on a Thur so any squits would be at the weekend. This worked, so I stayed on 3.75mg until I got to goal. My 7.5mg pen ended up lasting 10 weeks rather than 5, but I still had good suppression.

However... because I had not ordered for 10 weeks, Med Express cut me off and said I was no longer eligible for MJ. So much for allowing maintenance. Luckily, mumsnet forewarned about this so I had 2 pens in the fridge that I have been eeking out as maintenance and I have titrated down to 2mg a week for the last 10 weeks and stayed 4lb below goal.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 12/01/2025 11:46

@Phillister if you feel your symptoms are improving, have you taken loperamide 2 - 4mg and some cyclizine 50mg? That always stops any D & V for me.
But do seek medical advice.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 12/01/2025 11:48

An important refresher just in case anybody has missed it

Eli Lilly, the manufacturer of Mounjaro® (tirzepatide), outlines several potential side effects associated with its use. Common side effects include:
- Nausea
Diarrhea
Decreased appetite
Vomiting
Constipation
Indigestion (dyspepsia)
Stomach (abdominal) pain
These gastrointestinal symptoms are typically mild to moderate and often diminish over time as the body adjusts to the medication.
However, Mounjaro may also cause serious side effects, such as:
- Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis): Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe, persistent abdominal pain that may radiate to the back, with or without vomiting. - I want to personally add that not all pancreatic pain radiates to the back and can present a-typically in that it can just be present on the front or be hard to locate the source of pain.
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia): The risk increases when Mounjaro is used in combination with other medications that can cause hypoglycemia, such as sulfonylureas or insulin. Symptoms may include dizziness, sweating, confusion, headache, blurred vision, shakiness, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, irritability, hunger, weakness, and feeling jittery.
- Serious allergic reactions: Discontinue use and seek immediate medical help if you experience symptoms like swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty breathing or swallowing; severe rash or itching; fainting; or rapid heartbeat.
- Kidney problems (kidney failure): Dehydration resulting from nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea can worsen kidney issues. It's important to maintain adequate fluid intake to reduce this risk.
- Severe stomach problems: Inform your healthcare provider if you experience severe or persistent stomach issues.
- Changes in vision: Report any vision changes during treatment to your healthcare provider.
- Gallbladder problems: Symptoms may include pain in the upper stomach, fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), and clay-colored stools.
Eli Lilly emphasizes the importance of discussing any side effects with your healthcare provider, especially if they are bothersome or persistent. They also advise reporting side effects to the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 or via the FDA MedWatch website.
For comprehensive information, refer to the Mounjaro prescribing information provided by Eli Lilly.

Not all D&V will mean pancreatitis or gallstones but because we aren't medically trained professionals, the best we can do is recommend you get immediate medical advice from 111, or advance to your nearest A&E if the problem persists, or increases in frequency or intensity.

I'm not sure if I would class hidden in a bush as delivered to be honest. I'd probably fight that, unless the bush was a specified safe space.

Merchants have a duty to make sure that the product you've purchased gets to you.

I'm not sure what the temperatures have been in Somerset but here in Yorkshire they have been below freezing consistently for the whole week and I don't know if intermittent freezing and then thawing will impact the safety or efficacy of the product.

If it's been consistently around fridge temperature where you are it would need to be up to you if its a risk worth taking but I personally would probably push back and see if they'd send a new pen.

I should probably post it every 10 pages or so anyway for anybody new, but fear it might just sound like I'm infantilising everyone who's already seen it all few times.

Safety first though so I think I'll make a more conscious effort to paste them every so often

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 12/01/2025 12:10

@Phillister stay safe. Hopefully it's just a rough bout of some less severe side effects and will be over soon, but I'm very glad you reached out to ask just in case.

Medexpress are wrong to say this and use it as an excuse not to send another pen. The temperature has to be kept between 2c - 8c before the first use.
The 30*c for 30 days is after the first use. The supplier cannot use any of this allowance.

Ask for a replacement pen or your money back. Quoting what the manufacturer says on its website.

I can't remember it going above 6 degrees this past week where I am, in South Somerset. The lows were about -2, but I assume your package was insulated which would have prevented freezing. (Your ice packs were melted too.)

I think it sounds like it stayed at the correct temp and safe for use.

QueenOfHiraeth · 12/01/2025 13:24

@Gettingbysomehow The temperature probably has been ok but that is not the point, as this is medication the supplier needs to guarantee that.
Some suppliers are absolute shysters and I would push back by telling them that they cannot guarantee the storage conditions were acceptable and the delivery contract is between them and the courier so they must deal with this

I truly don't think it's infantilising.
It's very important medical information.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2025 17:14

@Gettingbysomehow temps at night have dropped to -5/6 here so if you wake and cars /grass frozen I would complain and ask for another one free as needs to be 2-8 i think till opened and used

sure I read somewhere that shouldn’t be frozen

throwing in a bush and not finding for a week is not a safe place

Paperwhite13 · 13/01/2025 08:25

Monday weigh day.

SW: 240.8lbs (17st 2lbs)
CW: 157.6lbs (11st 3lbs)
GW: 154lbs (11st)

83.6lbs gone! And just 0.4lbs for a SIX STONE loss. Crazy!

I'm so close to GW that it doesn't seem real... 3.6lbs to go. I do think I'm going to lower my GW to 149 though, then use the 5lbs buffer and try to remain within the 149-154lbs range.

In other news Oushk has just approved my pen (took over a week, they must be v-busy with new customers). And I've gone down to 5mg (from 7.5mg).. I really hope that I don't notice a huge increase in the food noise but we'll see.

I hope you all have a good week!
