Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

Back to my normal updates!!

35 weeks in and I'm 42.5lbs down.

I dropped back to 5mg over the past few weeks as I wanted to enjoy Christmas and New Year and I managed to stay sensible.

From the 17th Dec to today I've put on.....

1lb!

Which is unheard of for me. So I'm definitely taking that as a win!

My total spend on pens has averaged at just over £21 per week which when you factor in the cost of a slimming club etc feels worth it. Not to mention I'd have given up and piled the weight back on!

SW 236.8
CW 191
GW 154 (then reassess as I'd till be over 25 BMI!).

My loss has been slower than most but I've only increased doses when I've not had a loss that week and feel so much more in control rather than having no food noise at all. I feel I'll be on a maintenance plan for a long time too when I've reached goal weight.

I've had a trapped nerve since NYD so barely moved and had great plans to start toning up but that will have to wait - being in so much pain and taking codeine has made me not want to eat too!!

Good Luck and Happy New Year to all! :)

QueenOfHiraeth · 08/01/2025 12:17

@InspectorGidget Well done, that sounds like a very balanced and sensible way to do things and great progress too!

My spend would be more as I had to move to higher doses before I saw much effect, possibly because I am older, post-menopause, not fit/active and have been on and off diets since my mother put me on my first one over 50 years ago. Still happy with it though as I'm at an age where this is more about health and living well now.

Gettingbysomehow · 08/01/2025 13:07

I find it amazing how different all our experiences are. I am 62 and doing no exercise at all because I'm waiting for a hip replacement, working from home temporarily.
I'm losing weight in spades on 5mgs, it's just falling off even though I don't move much. I dare not go up to 7.5 because the 5 already makes me unable to eat anything and the side effects are awful. I started of at 14 stone 9 pounds 3 months ago and have lost 2 stone.

KrankyKumquat · 08/01/2025 13:25

@Gettingbysomehow
Yes, it's really interesting and wish we knew more about why (beyond calories). I'm 58, post-menopausal, sedentary WFH, been on and off diets since age 8, and hit BMI 22 after 7 months and 30% body weight loss, with no notable side effects. Got up to 10mg but now I'm titrating down think I could have managed on 5 or 7.5mg. The Surmount study suggests this level of success was seen primarily by patients on 15mg and over 12months so very different to my experience.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 08/01/2025 18:17

Has anyone got any experience with the bitepal ai food tracker app?

I really ought to start tracking my food more but I find it uses up my daily executive function tokens and then I end up forgetting other important things that need to be done.

It popped up as an add on insta but before I subscribe to the £33/year subscription I wanted to know if any one has actually got experience with it that they can share.

InspectorGidget · 08/01/2025 19:41

I'm the same @QueenOfHiraeth
This is absolutely the last time I am doing this so there's no point rushing it if I want the changes to stick!

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 08/01/2025 20:11

I just wanted to come back and say I've signed up for the 3 day free trial of that app.

I've just taken a photo of my cousins mammoth 2 slices of meat pie, and whilst I'm absolutely amazed it picked up what it was straight away, I'm not very sure it's accurate at calorie counting although I also don't know how many calories are in this meat pie as it was bought at a local meat market. I can't imagine this whole plate is less than 600 calories.

Jury is still out on if it is any good. Might be better with whole foods so when I have my lunch tomorrow I will update again.

Well, day 1 of 10mg and doing fine, though side effects usually hit through day after for me.

HonestPinkOtter · 08/01/2025 22:11

Happy all the time 😆

QueenOfHiraeth · 08/01/2025 23:19

Well, inspired by @KrankyKumquat I thought I would just check what percentage of body weight I have lost and am pleasantly surprised to find I have lost almost exactly 20% of my starting body weight. Woohoo!

Bloody MedExpress are at it again Hmm TikTok has complaints flying around again about people advising each other how to get supplies from them if you don't actually fit the criteria (i.e. how to fib!) Amazing how it's always the same company, the sooner they are pulled up the better.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 09/01/2025 12:24

Well, I was 20st 2lb this time last year.

I'm now 13st 10lb.

That's a loss of 6st 6lb in a year.

I've got 3 - 4st left to lose. I'll see what I look like when I'm 10st.

I'm on 15mg MJ. The loss has slowed down especially over Christmas but I'm gradually still losing.

QueenOfHiraeth · 09/01/2025 12:49

@MJconfessions I have PM'd you as I said I would last week 😊

That's fantastic! I gained weight over Christmas, our weekly food shops changed quite drastically from the middle of November to the new year but I've lost it before and I'll lose it again. I think like you I might get a 6 stone loss within a year of starting.

It's my 30th this year and I'd really like to feel good in my own skin and wear a killer dress for a garden party.

I definitely think that the bitepal app might perform better with whole foods rather than pie but I've not tried it yet. 😅

Also I'll just never know for sure because it was made at a stall on our meat market to compare but I only had 1 slice and I never eat the pastry, only the filling.

I did try it earlier with a packet of microwave rice that was going in the dogs dinner bowl out of curiosity. The packet said the total calories were 146 for some golden vegetable rice, and the app said it was higher but it was just an estimate based on the picture. It wasn't that far off though.

Tonight we are just having chicken and vegetables and then I'm cancelling my free trial because it was purely curiosity to see if the app could serve a purpose and it probably can but I don't feel 3 days is a long enough trial period for the cost of the subscription.

My sisters and I are all on it and it’s fascinating how we are reacting differently. My oldest sister has yo-yo dieted all her life and the weight is crawling off. A mini break in healthy eating (Christmas) and she’s gained 5+ pounds in a week. I have horrific side effects and am ill with 💩 at least half a week every week, but lose at least 2-3lb every week. My older sister only has side effects if she drinks or overindulges and then she’s violently sick. My youngest sister has had no side effects at all, still drinks daily and has fatty takeouts, but is only eating when she’s hungry and the weight has dropped off her. I assumed we would have a similar journey due to genetics but it’s been completely different for all of us. It’s really random.

Thank you! Really interesting. I am shocked that some influencers have been able to amass that much referral credit (10s of thousands!) MedExpress need to sort themselves out - that isn’t right.

Morning all. Don't think I've posted yet this year! I'm back on track, actually only gained 1lb over Christmas which is awesome. I've hit the 11s this morning so very happy.

SW 15st 4.8
CW 11st 13.6
GW 10st 7

I feel like I'm getting close now. I've put on a pair of size 14 jeans this morning that didn't fit when I bought them a few weeks ago. They are perfect now!

@GlueNoGlue 7st is amazing! The cake has been well earned!

It's exciting that we're getting some losses in to celebrate the start of the year.

Nothing like some January inspiration!

My official weigh-in day is Tuesday but I sometimes jump on on a Friday as well just so I can reassure myself about weekend weight fluctuations.
I have lost my Christmas and New Year gain and just snuck down into the next stone bracket. I'm at a bit of a set point for me as I have reached this point before but always rebounded so here's hoping I'm going to break through this time.
Loss so far is 3 stone 9lb, not sure how much more to go as I am older so have set my aim as stopping before I wrinkle like a raisin Grin
