Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

@MounjaroMunchie i thought you had to start back at 2.5 if you’d been off for more than 2 weeks? (Not criticising, curious as I’m due to go away next month and will be missing a few shots)

QueenOfHiraeth · 28/12/2024 11:39

Interesting article in The Times today highlighting something I have been saying for a while about some pharmacies acting unprofessionally. MedExpress are the biggest offender but 12 others are under investigation
One TikTok influencer was saying that she had £19,000 in credit with MedExpress from sharing her code. Last month she just got an email from them saying they were reviewing their systems and are setting a maximum of £4k for credits so had reduced her balance by £15k with no notice or discussion.
It may be that MN have to stop code-sharing completely

It’s a big thing in the press - the Graun had two articles recently on the same subject. I think there will be clampdowns after the Advertising Standards Authority complete their investigation.

I think there needs to be!

I have spent most of my working life in roles related to health, medicines and medication supply so have been appalled at the "Wild West" situation that has been allowed to develop around these medications. Don't even get me started on the quality of advice on social media that has filled the vacuum where professional guidance ought to sit 😡

So did I! I contacted my prescriber to query this as my most recent order was for 10mg, and I wanted to know if I could maybe drop to 5mg instead of starting again at 2.5mg. This is the reply that I got:

@QueenOfHiraeth I agree. Pharmacies need to focus on provision of support and health advice in a safe and secure manner not racing to dish out discounts codes and potentially providing to those who do not qualify. Hopefully regulators will crack down on some of these practices

Has anyone else found they are bored of food? I want to eat but I don’t fancy anything. I’m just bored of it all.

PermanentTemporary · 29/12/2024 09:29

@MelainesLaugh sadly not at the moment though I've had days like that. I just are very simple food that required no effort like fruit and a few nuts or something at those times.

Have gained 3kg over Christmas. Annoying but I enjoyed it. Think I might have to up my dose again but will see if I can get back on track on my current dose.

I have periods of time where I'm bored of food but it's not a permanent state of being for me.

Instead I find I have very niche cravings for things we probably don't have in the house, or for flavours I can't identify I want. Took forever to realise what I really wanted was something pickled instead of something spicy.

Christmas food though, I get bored of that very quickly every year. In the usual sense I went big for a day or 2, and now I don't want to see it again for another 365 days.

@MelainesLaugh yeah I struggle to find anything nice I open the fridge then shut it again which is good but I obviously need to eat something just what I don't know

Bored, then finally think of something that sounds/feels okay and by the time I prepared/cooked don't want that either, so sit and shove some in, reminding myself that I have to as haven't eaten since.....
Funnily enough the only meal I'm always up for is breakfast. I have a selection of different cereals, Müsli, granola etc and look forward to my portion each morning (I love milk)

AllstarFacilier · 29/12/2024 19:31

I’ve no idea what anyone would do with £4k credit for a pharmacy, never mind £19k.

AllstarFacilier · 29/12/2024 19:31

That's what people were saying on TikTok! Apparently this particular influencer had tried to be nice and had, on occasion, helped followers who she knew were struggling but that was a drop in the ocean.
I think the issue was that MedExpress had got all the sales, presumably making a very good profit from it, then taken back loads of credit with no discussion or advance notice

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 30/12/2024 19:32

Made the mistake of weighing myself and I've regained a little bit over Christmas and feeling so bloody fed up.

Not with eating or weight loss or gain because I feel like I can control what I eat and knew Christmas was bound to be a stall or a small weight gain but I had planned to go to the gym just to burn 100-200 calories on the treadmill most days but I've been so bogged down and energy-spent by every winter bug going.

Whenever I moan to DP about it he just says "you need dedication not motivation" and the only thing I feel dedicated to do at that point is tie him to a rocket and send him to the moon.

Just a little rant.

I know that I'll be back at it soon though.

@Jimmyneutronsforehead You are a patient woman, if your DH was mine he'd be attempting to retrieve his dedication and motivation from up his bum! Keep taking deep breaths... Grin
I suspect we have all gained a little over Xmas but it will go, we'll all be back on the case soon. I'm going away, visiting friends for a belated Christmas, the first week of January so no hope of me getting back to normality yet.

He's going on a 2 week holiday today and I'd get him to Portugal without the need for a plane if he dare say it again. He'd be the first person to travel by boot.

Luckily he's been quiet for a few hours. He has been making noises about how we need to go back and get fit again but nothing about dedication since.

He makes these noises every so often and we go for a few weeks and then some cosmic joke of a life event happens like a tendon severs or d&v strikes, does it rounds through the house and then goes back for round 2 with everyone, or someone sprains an ankle. If we didn't have bad luck we'd have no luck at all.

He's donned his new year new me personality though and he is expecting me to do the same. My new years resolution is the same as every other year which is to get through this next year without going feral, setting the house alight and dancing naked in streets until I'm taken away by some poor law enforcement guy who isn't paid enough to see my nude body.

I've done a cheeky end of year weigh and I've put on 3lb over the past 2 weeks which for me at Christmas is unheard of!

I went back down to 5mg last week too as I found I was getting really bad heartburn with all the Xmas food (mince pies!).

I haven't over indulged but I have indulged a little and really enjoyed. So much so my friend who did once ask 'are you on ozempic?' Well I wasn't lying when I said no (!) never batted an eyelid as I visited the cheeseboard a few times at her house on Boxing Day!! We're there again tomorrow.

We're at a party tonight and having a curry so I'm fasting today and after tomorrow I'm looking forward to regaining some control on Friday and have all my gym classes booked for next week as I do need to tone up. I keep saying I need to do couch to 5k but this weather.....

It's fab news that zava have increased their reward codes to 25% off!

Here's to a healthy and happy 2025 to all of you! Wine

SnacklessWonder · 31/12/2024 13:07

Haven't been on this thread for a while.

Did my last 2.5mg dose yesterday (have been titrating down through December) and then I shall be going it alone which is a scary thought.

Mainly because I've read a billion posts on here from people saying it will be impossible to maintain without MJ.

Regardless, I am stopping now and will see what happens. I never intended to be on it forever because a) cost and b) I'm already on so many different medications.

I am only just inside what would be considered a healthy BMI but it's a good weight for me. I look slim with a bit of chub to fill out the wrinkles, and it's more realistic for me to maintain. I am 8 stone 12lb and 24.5ish on BMI. I am happy with that! I've lost 2stone 10lbs since August.

InspectorGidget · 31/12/2024 13:25

Congratulations and Good luck @SnacklessWonder

Please check back in and keep us posted - it'll be a while before I'm thinking about maintaining!

QueenOfHiraeth · 31/12/2024 20:05

@SnacklessWonder I don't know if you've heard me say this before but one of my friends (in real life) has been on Ozempic for a while and reached her goal weight. Her provider advised her about gradually stepping down the medication and increasing calories.
She was told that their experience was that some people are fine and don't regain weight as though the medication has reset their body, some come off but need a boost of medication at intervals so cycle it while some others need to stay on but, usually, at a lower dose.
I haven't had a chance to ask her what she is doing but she looked very good when I last saw her and I heard her tell someone she doesn't want to lose any more

Paperwhite13 · 02/01/2025 08:24

Good luck @SnacklessWonder Let us know how you get on.

I hope you all had a great new year!

SnacklessWonder · 02/01/2025 09:09

@QueenOfHiraeth I've probably naturally done that to be honest, I've just done 5 weeks back on 2.5mg and I've not really been restricting any calories in December, I've eaten and drank what I want, lots of meals out etc but am still being mindful (for instance if I know I'm going out for dinner I'm super good during the day)

I've found on 2.5mg the hunger is definitely back - it's not the same as being on 2.5mg the first time around as I barely ate! But I'm dealing with the hunger okay. Trying to focus on the fact that it's okay to be hungry. Nothing bad will happen!

Ooh interesting! Do you know who her provider is? Are there many that are ok with cycling doses?

LaurieFairyCake · 02/01/2025 15:32

Well it's been five weeks since I last posted but my god some of you look fabulous 🥰 - you look incredible in that wedding dress ❤️

I have lost loads of weight in the last 5 and a half weeks for me, 8 pounds (for months before I was losing way less than a pound a week). I'm assuming because I've been even more active.

I'm now a size SMALL in everything, just bought a load of new sweaty betty stuff in the sale, all a small

My top half is TINY - a size 8
My bottom half a size 10 still (you can see where the last 7-10 pounds is Grin)

My waist is now 24, my BMI is 26.3

I rebought all my bras less than 10 weeks ago in a size 32 (I've never been less than a 32 since I got tits at 12) I now have to repurchase at size 30 as none of them bloody fit

My next goal is to turn all the loose into muscle and I've got new exercise classes booked and a weight training class booked for the next two weeks
