Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

@simb @Doggymummar @OrangesAndLemonz I would always think that, if the mechanism has been twisted to breaking point, then the measurements of the plunger may not be accurate so a syringe may be better anyway

I have had a week that is appalling in terms of eating in a disciplined way.

I have been out for lunch or dinner 4 of the last 7 days and am out another 4 of the next 6 (this is what happens when you retire!). Having said that, I am learning new skills and enjoying eating what I want within reason, like a normal not-fat person! Last night I went out and happily ate part of a starter, salmon and veg for the main course then part of the pudding - nobody noticed I left some, nobody commented, I felt satisfied and not too stuffed (although I could have lived without the pudding if I'm honest).
I have not gained weight, I've maintained, and the big plus has been I'm no longer constipated!

NSV- went to the panto this weekend and my arse fit comfortably in the seat!!!! Didn’t spend the entire show worrying I was encroaching on the person next to me and shifting towards my child, actually had wiggle room!

This is one of my none weight related goals, really glad you felt more comfortable!!

MiniCooperLover · 12/12/2024 08:27

I'm having to give up with Juniper, I've been with them since the beginning and even though they were a bit pricier than other suppliers I continued as I liked the continuity but trying to even get them to engage this month has been ridiculous. Could I have some suggestions of other suppliers please? I've been on 10MG Mounjaro and BMI is at 30 at the moment.

NearlyNewHip · 12/12/2024 08:54

I'm with my local independent pharmacy. Costs more but the pharmacist knows all of my other prescriptions and is there in the chemist if I want to pop in and ask something and he answers within a few hours if I email. He checks my blood pressure and weight on his fancy scales when I pick up new pens too x Makes me feel safe as I take a few different painkillers for my osteoarthritis x

Paperwhite13 · 12/12/2024 09:03

@GlueNoGlue This is one of my goals too! I'd have been thrilled. Congrats.

@MiniCooperLover I switched from Boots (where I had zero issues but they're so expensive) to Oushk and they've been great.. zero issues switching and my BMI was below 30.

FarriersGirl · 12/12/2024 09:43

@MiniCooperLover I am with Oushk, moved over a few months ago at a BMI of 26 and they have been great. Also good for maintenance plans when you get there.

I'm with Voy at the moment and considering switching over because the price is just mad for what you actually get in terms of coaching. One thing I do like is the discreet packaging. What's the oushk box like?

letshavetea · 12/12/2024 10:34

@MiniCooperLover I’m also very pleased with Oushk. They’re very responsive to phone calls and emails and the pens arrive on time. You can pick your day. I use Royal Mail as it doesn’t has to be signed for but you can choose DPD signed for if it works better for you. They always send a discount code through by email. I order one pen ahead.

letshavetea · 12/12/2024 10:35

@redavocado the box is brown - completely discreet. Reasonably big due to the freezer packs and wool padding.

FarriersGirl · 12/12/2024 11:13

Plain packaging - you would not know what it was @redavocado

redavocado · 12/12/2024 15:36

Thanks @letshavetea and @FarriersGirl! My next pen is due next week so I'll look at swapping after that.

JamieFrasersSassenach · 12/12/2024 19:52

@redavocado I'm in the process of moving from Voy to Oushk - Voy were great to start with but seem to have lost their good customer service recently and frankly if I'm paying a company £200 a month I expect their communication to be prompt and without error.
I also want to use the maintenance service that Oushk offer as I need some sort of safety net once I reach my goal weight, when I enquired with Voy about maintenance plans I got a standard response asking if I had reached my goal weight and wanted to titrate down and stop - so not even answering the question I had asked.

I put my first order in to Oushk just over a week ago but asked for it to be delivered at the start of January. My order is still showing as processing so I emailed them to check if it's all ok - they responded really quickly to say it's just because the delivery date is a few weeks away and that it is all fine.

VioletsHeart · 12/12/2024 20:44

Big day in my house: my DH took his first Mounjaro jab. He’s gone from being terribly worried about me starting in June, to surprised at how well it was working, to in awe of what I’ve achieved, to casually wondering if he should give it a go, to asking me to help him order.
He’s not defined what he wants to accomplish other than drop a stone and see (he is about four from a heathy BMI) but he’s started and we will see how he travels. I’m very proud of him for taking control of his health.

MounjaroMunchie · 12/12/2024 21:32

That's great news @VioletsHeart - how is he feeling after the jab? My husband is also going to do his first jab at the weekend (he has a night out tomorrow he doesn't want to jeopardise!) and honestly, I'm thrilled for him. His BMI is 33 and I think having to start using a CPAP machine has been the tipping point for him.

VioletsHeart · 12/12/2024 22:03

Exciting times for the husbands @MounjaroMunchie! Mine says it feels really weird. He feels full. The small glass of wine he had earlier tasted dull. He hasn’t had another. He’s okay. Super early days.

So it seems my weight loss all seems to have come off my double chin, and I have saggy crepey skin there now.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to tighten it up?

There's no miracle for loose skin, sadly. A personal trainer told me skin can continue to shrink for up to 2 years post-weight loss (although this varies with skin type, age, location, etc) and can be influenced by healthy diet with adequate fat and protein, good skin care and time
I have seen people mention Prai neck cream but no ides if it works or not

Also... Whoop whoop! I have hit 3 and a half stone off! Smile
My weight loss has really slowed but I have persevered with sensible eating, logging calories, etc until this last week when I am eating out a lot so have cut back on other eating. Very oddly this seems to have kick started my loss again although I'm sure my calories will be up so wouldn't explain it!

MounjaroMunchie · 13/12/2024 13:39

I've used the Prai neck/throat cream and was initially impressed, but longer term, it's clearly not doing anything. You have to be so careful with how much you use and how you apply it too, otherwise it pills so badly.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 13/12/2024 14:02

My nan very kindly pointed out today, in front of company that you can see my jaw now and not just my neck.

Thanks nannan 🙃 love that for me.

Isn't that lovely @Jimmyneutronsforehead...

Just a shout out to Lloyds Pharmacy... I chose them because there's a local branch and I still feel happier knowing there's somebody nearby even though the only response wrt any issues would be to tell me to 'go online'. I just can't detach myself from wanting a RL backup!

VioletsHeart · 13/12/2024 17:52

I’m wondering if I’ve unconsciously chosen my maintenance weight? I’ve hit my second (of three) goal weights of 9st4 and absolutely love it.

Four months of strength training is making a big difference. 3 stone off is wow! I’ve shrunk out of my “thin(er)” clothes. I’m suddenly noticing space on chairs, and in the bath. I saw a picture of me the other day and couldn’t believe it was me.

I’d set a target range 8st5-12 when starting six months ago- right in the healthy BMI range (am short). And I’m now wondering do I want to go smaller than I am now?

I’ve had a couple of weeks with loads of eating out. I decided that it was an appropriate time to stop tracking every morsel of food I ate.

I’ve been around 9st 2 for a little while and wondering is this me? Can I let go of the never previously achieved target of 8st 12 without finally hitting it?

I am surprisingly chilled. I’m still taking my jabs. I’m more relaxed in my eating. It’s nearly Christmas. I’m going to see how it goes and reassess in a few weeks.

QueenOfHiraeth · 13/12/2024 22:30

@VioletsHeart Your plan of a nice relaxed Christmas and see how you go sounds like a good plan. I think, now you are weight training, 9st 2 is probably the point at which you might weigh 8st 12 with less muscle anyway if that makes sense. Well done, the extra muscle and firming sounds great!
I don't expect I will see 9st 4 ever again, I weighed that at about 16-18 years old but never since and will be happy to stay considerably above that as I think it will be healthier for me now I am older (I'm 5'7" tall)

Paperwhite13 · 15/12/2024 06:38

Morning everyone! Just posting a weight update as its been a while and I've just reached another milestone. 👏🏼

SW: 240.8lbs (17st 2lbs)
CW: 165.8lbs (11st 11)

Meaning I've lost 75lbs! Or, 5st 5lbs.

I'm 2.8lbs off a 'healthy' BMI and 11.8lbs off GW.

You actually wouldn't recognise me six months ago compared to now. I've gone from a size 20/22 to a size 10/12.

I just find it amazing that I'm still losing weight in the lead up to Christmas as I'd have previously just said "fuck it, I'll start again after Christmas" and gained back everything I'd lost.

Very grateful for Mounjaro and this group of lovely people as I don't have anyone to talk about it to (only my husband knows).

PermanentTemporary · 15/12/2024 07:21

These are great updates. Losing 5 dress sizes is astounding. Finding a weight that feels right sounds amazing too.

I was thinking last night that I can't imagine being less than a size 16. I bought my first size 16 dress aged 23 and in the past 30+ years I've never got near a 14 again. So I don't really expect it. I have a big broad frame so that's fine. But I will look very different if I do sustain this loss, and it will take some adjusting to.

I don't seem to have the difficulty drinking alcohol that others do, but it is definitely slowing me down that I haven't stopped. Something to think about as it's prolonging the period I'm on the expensive jabs of course. It's been effective dropping my daily target to 1750 calories though - that seems to work as a losing level.
