Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

Thanks @Bas16 !

I’m officially no longer obese! Weight is 13stone 8lb, another 4lb and I’ve lost three stone. BMI is 29.9, down from 35.8. All in under four months.

Today I’m wearing a pair of jeans I got off of Vinted or EBay (I can’t remember) which never fitted but I kept “just in case”

Pretty sure by Christmas I will be three stone down. I’m absolutely chuffed to bits with my progress. I saw someone on Monday who I hadn’t seen since September and her opening line was “OMG you’ve lost so much weight”.

Anyone who’s struggling keep with it, this drug is just incredible

Greaterwaterparsnip · 04/12/2024 18:40

Hello!
My husband and I have both been taking MJ since the start of August.

We have both been told after recent unrelated blood tests that we have high iron and we need to repeat the test in 8 weeks.

I have a daily electrolyte fizzy drink thing but can't see iron on the ingredients. I have a protein yoghurt and sometimes a clear whey drink each day. We eat meat and green leafy salad and vegetables but not in huge amounts.

Has anyone had similar?
DH will have his repeat blood test sooner than me and has stopped the electrolyte so it will be interesting to see if that has helped.
It must be diet/ MJ related since it has happened to us both.

MountKilimounjaro · 04/12/2024 18:46

@JusteanBiscuits I had the same issue on 10mg. I recently bought a juicer and my gosh was it a speedy way to fix the problem, it's game changing. A glass of carrot, apple and beetroot juice has a magnificent effect. I'm pretty sure it works with any combination but that's my go to at the moment.

Great news @MelainesLaugh my next major goal is to move out of the obese category but I need to lose another 3 stone. Every pound counts

QueenOfHiraeth · 04/12/2024 21:10

@Greaterwaterparsnip I haven't had blood tests for a while but, oddly, DH (not on MJ but eats what I cook so same diet as me but in larger quantities) had high iron on a test recently. When repeated it was normal.
I can't think of anything that could have caused it, he is much more active than me, doesn't take electrolytes but does have one protein shake a day, a multivitamin and a fish oil capsule

QueenOfHiraeth · 04/12/2024 21:39

I am struggling a bit with navigating this now my weight loss is more obvious.

I have lost 3st 4lb and it just seems to have shown all of a sudden although I have about the same again to get to BMI 25. I think I'm down from a size 24 to 18/20.

I went to a Christmas party this week and had quite a few comments ranging from the nice, vague "You look great" through to a bit of a grilling on how much, over how long, etc and one comment which I think was intended humorously "You've lost so much people will think you're on those fat jabs". I'm just saying higher protein, healthy eating and it's a long slow process, etc
I want to lose weight and be healthier but I don't want to discuss it with random acquaintances and hate people commenting to the point that I feel self-conscious.
This sounds really stupid but I feel I am dressing to disguise my weight loss and not to show it off (as an example I had trousers and a glitzy top for this party which would have been fine as it was but ended up wearing a long jacket over it)

PermanentTemporary · 04/12/2024 21:52

That's wonderful @MelainesLaugh. I've got another 5kg to go for that. It's a really big milestone 🌼

MounjaroMunchie · 05/12/2024 08:55

I'm sorry that you felt you had to disguise it @QueenOfHiraeth - people are so bloody nosy. I'm still at the stage where only my husband and best friend know I'm on this. Husband is awaiting his own MJ prescription and my friend has had bariatric surgery and previously been on Saxenda, so I know there's no judgement from them. Everyone else, though... It's a risk, isn't it? You've only got to skim MN to stumble across a dozen or threads full of vitriol and bitter people wanting to see people with obesity fail.

InspectorGidget · 05/11/2024 12:19

Thank you for the new thread!

After going under 200lbs last week I've been over it and under it like a yo yo for an official stay the same on weight day. Sigh.

I did have one of the ladies at church on Sunday say to me 'you look like you've lost a lot of weight?' - which is the first time anyone has commented! So that's a nice win for me!

For anyone new - I'm 35.5lbs down in 27 weeks. I've been slow and steady and had 5 weeks of no loss every 5/6 weeks. I went up to 7.5mg 3 weeks ago so been a gradual increase for me as I'm happy with the 2lb per week average.

I do mystery dining and had 2 dines last week which I think was my undoing. Although one was for 3 courses and I had to sneak my pudding into a carry out box! I was way too full!!

@InspectorGidget How did you manage the 5 week stalls? Did you continue eating the same? Or change anything? I’m reading so much conflicting information- increase your calories, decrease your calories, eat more carbs, eat less carbs! It’s driving me insane

pinktransit · 05/12/2024 10:49

Weigh in day for me.
So close to my final goal weight, just 1lb 6oz to go. It's been pretty slow though for the past weeks, my motivation is definitely slipping a bit. I made some sourdough bread yesterday for the first time in months - so now I'm going to have to eat it 😆

SW - 12.6.6
CW - 8.8.6
GW 8.7.0

I'm somewhere between a size 8 and 10, depending on brand.

I've been going out and about a bit more over the past couple of weeks, after staying with Mum for a couple of months, and then generally just feeling a bit quiet.
My weight loss has definitely been noticed - not only am I getting the 'you've lost weight' or 'you look great' comments from people I know, but I'm getting random comments from people I don't know. Buying a pair of jeans in a charity shop, the assistant said that 'I looked very stylish', in a bar, the lady serving admired my hat and earrings. I've worn that hat many times without it being commented on.
It is a very nice hat though. Maybe it's because I am feeling more confident, rather than because I'm not fat?
I'm loving being able to choose what to wear because it looks good, rather than just because it mostly fits and doesn't look too bad.

TheShellBeach · 05/12/2024 11:14

@QueenOfHiraeth I know what you mean about keeping quiet about MJ.

I've told absolutely nobody apart from the DC and my husband. They're all very supportive.

I haven't even told my doctor. I might tell her when I get to goal weight. And I might not.

I'm feeling very thin, even though my BMI is still 35. It was 49.9 when I started.

I think I've got about 4st to go.

@Scarletstenfeettall Yes, this thread has been my constant source of inspiration and support since I started MJ in May. Thanks again to @obsidiantree starting it way back when and @Jimmyneutronsforehead for continuing it ❤️❤️

I’ve got a couple of slightly non-happy NSVs - a couple of my rings keep falling off (and nearly getting lost 😞) and my much loved Lipsy black patent leather loafers are WAY too big!

My feet have lost SO much weight 🤣🤣

murraymcgill · 05/12/2024 13:04

I hope you're not having 5ml!

There's only 3ml in the entire syringe, including the bonus dose.

murraymcgill · 05/12/2024 16:41

Mounjaro? Took 4x2.5 now onto 5

You could try an antacid like Rennies/ Tums/ Gaviscon, or something stronger like esomeprazole for the full and sicky feeling.

I find I get like that with an acid stomach, and it might cause the anxious feeling too. I prefer Tums.

imnottoofussed · 05/12/2024 17:39

@murraymcgill it's 5mg not 5ml I think that's what pp means to point out

Each dose is 0.6ml, so there's only 3ml in each pen in total. The strength of the dose is 5mg

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/12/2024 18:00

@murraymcgill A lot of people get them confused but ml is a measure of liquid volume and 5mg is a measure of weight.

Each MJ dose is 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg or 15mg contained in 0.6ml of liquid. If you look at your pen it says e.g. 4 doses of 2.5mg contained in 2.4ml so @TheShellBeach is correct to point out that 5ml is more than a full syringe. I know it is a technicality but it can be important with medication

murraymcgill · 05/12/2024 19:36

Omg how stupid am I thanks for letting me know before I say something daft again

You have done so well @TheShellBeach

Wouldn't your doc know tho

My supplier informed mine

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 05/12/2024 21:10

I don't think every supplier does inform your doctor.

Mine didn't, my GP was shocked that they were hearing it out of my mouth when I thought they'd been informed. Very supportive though.
