Pointers for newbies:
Please note: Mounjaro will only be be prescribed initially if your BMI is above 30. If you have additional health conditions you can get the medication with a BMI 27. (Prediabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart problems)
Mumsnet does not allow promo codes. Please do not post any. If you want one, ask and someone will PM you a code or there are now threads on the promo page that have codes for Mounjaro link below:

Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

Well done @Hellijoy!

Hello I was wondering if someone could give me some advice if they have had to stop and restart their journey

I started mounjaro this year but stopped to have fertility treatment. The transfer failed so I'm looking to restart mounjaro as the food noise is suffocating me just now and the weight is pilling back on. My bmi has crept back up and is now 28 what is the chances of the chemist letting me reorder?

Thanks in advance

Hopefully your previous prescriber can help. Alternatively are you an ethnicity or have a weight related condition (high cholesterol/ diabetes/ etc) that allows a BMI of 27 to start? Sorry you have had such disappointment in your fertility journey.

paulliee · 28/11/2024 18:46

@Swissrollover thank you it's been a rough ride.

My prescriber replied and said to make an order and they will review it 🙄 doesnt sound promising to be honest.

Thanks for your help

QueenOfHiraeth · 28/11/2024 19:01

@paulliee It's not a supplier I have used but Oushk have a reputation of being really helpful and responding individually. May be worth contacting them and asking for a consultation

Checking in on my weigh day!

SW: 22st 11.8lbs
CW: 17st 13.6lbs
GW: 14st 10lbs (for now)

I can’t believe I’m in the 17’s 🥳 I haven’t been in the 17’s for about 10 years! Still a long way to go but today is a good day. And I lost 3lbs this week so 7.5 still appears to be doing its job! I’ve got another 7.5 coming next week and a 10, but I would have time to order another 7.5 if needed before I use the 10, 7.5 seems to be a wonderful balance between having an appetite but getting good suppression for portion control, less snacking etc.

JamieFrasersSassenach · 28/11/2024 21:21

Huge well done to everyone! @TheShellBeach you look amazing!!

I need to post on this thread more instead of lurking!

I've been on Mounjaro for 17 weeks now and last time I weighed myself (2 weeks ago) I'd lost 16.5kg - from 84kg start weight to 67.5kg. I don't weigh myself often because I hate doing it - until I started MJ I hadn't weighed myself for over 5 years.

My BMI at the start was 31 and now is just under 25 - so I've gone from obese to a healthy BMI in 4 months.

I'd like to get to a BMI of between 22 and 23 so still would like to lose another 8 - 10kg which I'm confident I can do by March.

I still have not told a soul that I am using Mounjaro and am terrified of what will happen when I stop using it - but also very hopeful that I genuinely won't go back to my old ways of eating.

I'm loving being slimmer and able to wear size 12 clothes, where before I was wearing size 18, but more than anything I'm loving that the food noise has gone - honestly for me that is what has been life changing. I still can't believe what life is like without constant food thoughts/hunger and being able to eat, feel satisfied and stop - EVEN WHEN THERE IS FOOD LEFT ON MY PLATE!!!

This medication is amazing and I really hope that it will be used to help everyone whose health is at risk from obesity. I hope that the press will pick up on the plethora of positive outcomes rather than the negative "I bought my injections for £30 from my hairdresser and ended up in hospital" stories.

And I just can't thank all of you mumsnetters on these threads - without you I would never have heard of Mounjaro let alone tried it.

I catch up on these threads every few days and everyone's experiences and support are invaluable. But I will try to post more to try to give back some support after all that I have taken from here.

weigh day for me, I’ve lost 1lb but had a bloody hard so I’m happy with that. Brings my total loss down to 6 and a half stone! Phew! Aiming to lose another 7lb before Christmas which isn’t looking likely but I’m ok with that!

I am really struggling with the cold though, is anyone else? I have the heating blasting and I’m living in hoodies and blanket and I still literally have chilblains on my toes! Worth it for the weight loss but not fun!

Snozzlemaid · 29/11/2024 08:26

Yes, it's strange to be so cold now.
My family can't get used to me saying I'm cold all the time.
Dp is disappointed I no longer keep him warm in bed. I've always radiated heat before.

They are able to make a judgement call on it so you never know. I've spoken to MedExpress (my provider), Cloud and another one that escapes my mind this week about being able to restart if I stop and had positive responses from everyone but MedExpress who are double checking.

Pumpkinforever · 29/11/2024 09:06

@JamieFrasersSassenach great to hear

@GlueNoGlue every pound is a step in the right direction

@OrangeWire 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

only been on MJ for four weeks and previously at this stage of a diet I would have given up because of food noise

MiniCooperLover · 29/11/2024 09:10

Very cross with Juniper. Have been with them since the beginning. Agreed next treatment plan last week, they took the money on the 22nd and nothing delivered yet! I've raised it in the chat and they're saying it's because I took 'so long' to respond to their queries. Work has been busy but I did respond. I've gone back and said if that's the case why have you taken payment over a week ago. Waiting to hear off them ....

QueenOfHiraeth · 29/11/2024 09:47

@JamieFrasersSassenach Lovely positive post, thank you.

Hi @MrsPerfect12 It took me ages to find it yesterday too.

PermanentTemporary · 29/11/2024 10:39

That's really interesting @Slimstar13 - and how amazing ppto lose more than 8 stone. I have not done anything about weight training despite thinking I need to every day! I can't really imagine actually being at my goal weight and I think really looking regularly is great advice. Tbh I have a good friend on Wegovy and I would personally say she's gone perhaps a little too far (not that I would ever say it) but she's tapering off now so it will be interesting to see where she settles.

MrsPerfect12 · 29/11/2024 10:46

@Snozzlemaid thank you, I've got it. The instructions need to be clearer as you're not uploading to account at all.

I was a bit worried receiving that as I have just over a stone to go then I am in healthy BMI? Are you similar and that's why they ask?

Fromthesidelines · 29/11/2024 11:00

Interesting perspective @Slimstar13 and food for thought as I'm now only 10lbs away from the top end of a healthy BMI.
I have been wondering when I should move onto maintenance. I'm doing this primarily for health reasons but conscious that I have a flat bum but still flabby arms, a belly and annoying fatty deposits around my naturally thick ankles that absolutely refuse to shift. So trying to work out if losing a bit more will fix these or of my bum will actually become concave! (Before anyone suggests this, I've lost comparatively slowly at an average of just over a lb a week, prioritised protein and been strength training throughout).
I think I might try and maintain for a bit, prioritising exercise, and make a push to see what the top end of a healthy BMI looks like in the New Year.

No, my BMI is still 33 so some way to go for me yet.
I haven't ordered from them for months so I guessed they wanted up to date info from me.

I’m just wanting to post 2 photos of me, if that’s okay, now that I’ve reached my goal weight!

The first one is when I started MJ in May weighing 15’11

The second one is from today weighing 11’9
