Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

Your legs are thinner and more toned /shapely

Amazing. Well done

50somethingHRTaddict · 25/11/2024 20:49

@TheShellBeach
There are a vast difference. Congratulations
Do you still have the trousers you wore in first photo, or something else from that time? Try those on and you will see your lose very clearly then.

InspectorGidget · 25/11/2024 22:58

@TheShellBeach you can really see a difference but we often can't see it ourselves.

I also use Renpho scales which measure other things like visceral fat that you can't see and even if the weight / photos don't show much difference, you can see it on those numbers so you'll have all that going on too!

They're Sinophant leggings size XL.
They're much too big now!
I'm in the M size.

And whoever said that my legs are more toned - you're right. When I bought the pale blue leggings I could (almost) pull them up, but my legs looked ghastly underneath them. They don't anymore.

When I was slim (and the last time I was slim was 2006) my legs were lovely!

The one thing that has upset me more than anything else, was my legs getting so fat.

But they're (very gradually) getting back to normal.

I've got to get down to 9st 4lb to reach a healthy BMI. So just under 5 stone left to lose.

Thanks to MJ I know I'll get there. It'll take another six to eight months, I think.

TheShellBeach · 25/11/2024 23:21

Is anyone else waiting until they get to goal, before getting all their rings resized?

DH bought me a gorgeous ring last Christmas, and it's so big now that it doesn't fit any of my fingers.

My wedding and engagement rings are far too big as well, as are all my dress rings.

Can you tell I've got a lot of rings? At least it makes it easy for DH to buy presents for me.

🤣

New research showing positive link between GLP medications and a reduction in kidney disease. Also confirms cardiovascular benefits. All cause mortality was 13% lower in the GLP group compared with placebo.

Weight-loss drugs can improve kidney health, study finds

Jfw82 · 26/11/2024 07:02

@TheShellBeach yes I'm waiting to have my rings sized when I reach goal and have also maintained for a while.

My wedding and engagement rings were spinning on my finger and falling off but as I still want to wear them for now I've just added some of this stuff to adjust them (wrapped together so the rings stay sat together) and it's working really well

Looking fab @TheShellBeach! What an amazing achievement. I also love rings and have noticed some of mine being too big now. It's going to be expensive getting them all resized.

New low for me this morning - 170.8lbs. 5lbs to go to a healthy BMI.

Oh yes, I've got those scales.

They told me I had the body of an 86 year old, the first time I stood on them.

Hmm
LaurieFairyCake · 26/11/2024 20:59

Yes, my ring finger is a size J now Shock

My wedding ring/engagement/eternity - all now on the middle finger

I'm not getting them resized, my eternity can't be resized

So I'm just getting more Grin and will wear them all at once

Paperwhite13 · 27/11/2024 09:36

5 month anniversary on Mounjaro today! I started on the 27th June.

SW: 240.8lbs
CW: 171.6lbs

Total Loss: 69.2lbs (0.8lbs off 5 stone) which doesn't seem real.

I've got 17.6lbs left to go and I can't wait to be maintaining.

I hope everyone else is having a good week!

Pumpkinforever · 27/11/2024 10:22

Well done @Paperwhite13 👏🏻👏🏻. Really hope I can achieve that in 5 or 6 months

I don't know if anyone is interested, but the Guardian Health section are doing a "share your experience" about weight loss injections. You can submit a comment anonymously, or not, if you want. Just thought it might be of interest to everyone here, given that there are so often only sensationalised and negative articles on this topic.

Just submitted my story anonymously. I am so grateful how this has changed my life and health and fed up of the constant negativity in the press. No wonder I have not told anyone about MJ in real life apart from my husband.

QueenOfHiraeth · 27/11/2024 20:12

There has just been another scare story on ITV News, one patient who developed pancreatitis and another who had severe vomiting but had bought hers from an "unregulated" source.

They were stressing 18 deaths but that was with suspected (not proven) links to GLP1s, no record of whether they were from legit sources and that is over 4 years! They did say, in the chat bit but not in the actual report, that when used correctly from a regulated provider and in accordance with guidance the benefits outweigh the risks

Pumpkinforever · 27/11/2024 20:47

@Fromthesidelines interesting read

@QueenOfHiraeth unregulated sources need to be clamped down hard. The idea that hairdressers/beauticians can dish these out as a sideline needs investigating. I don’t want to take more risks than I need so I pay a regulated provider who follows the prescription rules.

QueenOfHiraeth · 27/11/2024 21:45

@Pumpkinforever totally agree. Many of these "unregulated" meds are supplied in insulin syringes.

The original vials from which they are drawn up are often labelled "For Research Purposes Only" or "Not For Human Use" and the contents cannot be guaranteed.
The syringes are unlikely to be sterile as the needle has to be unsheathed to insert into the vial and draw the liquid out then the cover replaced.

That vial has then been pierced by however many syringes, each with the potential to introduce infection.
The individuals doing this are not trained or working to clinical governance/standards.
There is no guarantee they have been stored and transported correctly, refrigerated, etc.
It astounds me that people will take these risks, especially as the medication is injected so bypassing the body's first defences in the GI tract

IrisPallida · 28/11/2024 13:24

I ordered some new Wirarpa knickers from Amazon as my old ones (size 2XL) were hanging around my hips like Tarzan's loin cloths. I ordered Large in both cotton & modal viscose versions and they were too big. Just received the Medium and they are perfect!

I can thoroughly recommend the modal version - they are light, incredibly soft, and v stretchy so they should see me through my last stone & a half to goal weight. Modal is very similar to bamboo fabric, but made from Beech tree pulp rather than bamboo. Black Friday price as well!

Snozzlemaid · 28/11/2024 16:54

I love wirapa knickers too. Strangely despite having lost 4.5 stone I am still wearing the same ones. They're starting to get a little loose but still fine for now.
They must have been very stretched on me before!

paulliee · 28/11/2024 17:06

Hello I was wondering if someone could give me some advice if they have had to stop and restart their journey

I started mounjaro this year but stopped to have fertility treatment. The transfer failed so I'm looking to restart mounjaro as the food noise is suffocating me just now and the weight is pilling back on. My bmi has crept back up and is now 28 what is the chances of the chemist letting me reorder?

Thanks in advance

imnottoofussed · 28/11/2024 17:14

You probably need to just contact your original prescriber to discuss as nobody here will know if they'll let you start again. I suspect a new prescriber will say no but the original one might be happy to do so

Hellijoy · 28/11/2024 18:26

I haven’t posted on here in a couple of threads but wanted to post an update (and celebrate a massive NSV!).

I started MJ in June, weighing 86kg. Today I weigh 65kg and although my BMI still 26 (shorty here!) I bought my first ever pair of SIZE 10 JEANS!!! I’ve never been a size 10 in jeans as an adult, so this has been a wonderful moment.

For those just starting out - trust the process. Some weeks I’ve maintained or only lost 0.1/0.2kg but it adds up over time.

I’m aiming on losing another couple of kg but planning on maintaining my weight around the 65kg mark.
