Miss Mounjaro UK has the most up to date price comparison charts: https://www.missmounjarouk.com/

I will be back in the morning to add all of the information I had spent an hour on earlier on the original thread 23 that sort of went bust but I've just not found time this evening.

I'll cover UTIs again, as well as add the images from Miss Mounjaro, and the list of possible side effects.

Not quite the start to thread 23 that I had planned for, but I do think it's very important that everyone who had successful losses in thread 22 gets a huge congratulations and well done.

Happy thread 23 everybody!

Well done everyone, I hit the 4 stone off earlier this week. Still got maybe 4 to go. Aiming to lose 100lb initially and see how I look at that point.

MelainesLaugh · 22/11/2024 16:04

3lb gone this week. I’m not quite in the 13 stone bracket, I teetered in briefly the other day but I’m firmly stuck at 14 stone at the moment.

I did go out for lunch with a friend last week, to our favourite restaurant. It was so nice to actually enjoy it rather than see how much I could actually eat.

Worst thing for me at the moment is I don’t feel like I’ve lost 2 stone and 4lb. I just can’t see it. Yes my boobs are smaller but I can’t yet fit into any of my “slim” clothes.

I suppose I am still technically obese (I’m 5” 7”)

MelainesLaugh · 22/11/2024 16:06

Does anyone find they can no longer eat after a certain time? 3 times a week I finish work late, around 7pm sometimes later, and I used to be able to eat dinner no problem at that time. I can no longer do that. I just can’t manage food then

Congratulations @GlueNoGlue

I'm a way off thinking about titrating down. 3 gone, 3 to go!

I plan to do that though until I've maintained for a while and come off slowly as I don't ever want to be back here again.

I keep looking for any maintainers threads to follow but haven't seen any yet!!

There are a couple. I'll see if I can link one.

pinktransit · 22/11/2024 16:37

Somewhat miffed to find that the 15% discount code sent directly to me by Medexpress can't be used on Mounjaro.

I wish they would make it clear in marketing emails, as I was looking forward to a slightly cheaper month. Sigh.....

Bastards.
I use Medino now. I've got a few 10% codes and they're for anything, including MJ.

My 15mg pens are costing me £162.

Wow, that's a good price! With a price match from Medexpress, I'm paying £145 for 10mg. I'd probably change if I weren't pretty much at my goal weight and planning on titrating down after Christmas.

I'm with med express. They will price match as long as no discounts in the price

I got £40 off a 10 pen today as sent a pic of this saying this is the lowest price

And they emailed back within the hour to say yes and put £40 in my basket

So £149 instead of £189

I got sent a text with a 20% off and that includes Mounjaro. Apparently it’s one to use if you haven’t ordered in 50 days. I haven’t used Medexpress for a while because IQ Doctor have been so much cheaper, but I’ll probably use them for my next pen now

Time4changeagain · 22/11/2024 17:47

@MelainesLaugh They sent me a 25% off email for Mounjaro too. I checked and found it would still be cheaper for me to keep using IQ Doctor with the 23% code that’s on monj.

QueenOfHiraeth · 22/11/2024 17:53

Just worth reminding everybody ordering about now that your next pen will be due right about Christmas. I ordered two this month so I don't have the stress of thinking about it when I (and the post/couriers!) am busy

SnacklessWonder · 22/11/2024 18:11

I don't know whether to get another pen or not. Here's the dilemma.

I have a new 5mg pen in the fridge, but on Sunday I am going to move down to 2.5mg as I intend to come off now. My plan is to do 5 weeks at 2.5mg (as then my pen will be 'bad').

But that will mean my last dose of 2.5mg will be on Sunday 22nd December...which will see me through Christmas week.

My dilemma is, to I order another 2.5mg pen to get me through the full period and into January and then stop then?

Or could I risk taking a 6th dose from the 5mg pen even though it would be over the 30 days (would be 36 days-ish).

Time4changeagain · 22/11/2024 18:14

Yeah good idea @QueenOfHiraeth might get an extra pen next month just incase there are delays in January. New year was always a time for me to start trying to lose weight
@SnacklessWonder id personally do the 6th dose instead of buying a new pen

SnacklessWonder · 22/11/2024 18:18

That's what I am tempted to do @Time4changeagain how bad can it get - there has to be a margin of safety 😑 That would then take me through to the first week of January and then I'd be MJ free from that point, which feels a bit better than trying to stop before or during Christmas.

Time4changeagain · 22/11/2024 18:57

@SnacklessWonder
I know a lot of people are totally against using after the 30 days & whilst I’d never directly advise anyone to do so. I think the same as you and I personally would risk going over instead of buying a new pen. Ive got about another stone to go, hopefully I’ll be off MJ by the end of January

ChimneyRock · 22/11/2024 19:04

Posted this on another MJ thread but there may be more people on here who could advise.
I tried to get the bonus dose out of my first 2.5mg pen this morning. Cocked it up and I'm now unsure if it worked or not. I think probably not, as there is liquid left in the pen. I can't twist the end either way (despite forcing it) and neither will the plunger depress.
The next pen (5mg) has arrived. Should I just take dose one from that and hope I'm not overdosing? Or leave it a few days? Suppression still in evidence for 2.5mg.

SilenceInside · 22/11/2024 19:19

@ChimneyRock looking at the amount of liquid in the pen I'd say that you didn't inject very much if any at all. But that's just a guesstimate, based on what my pens look like after 4 doses.

I think that if I were in your position I would just inject the 5mg dose and write off the attempted injection as basically a negligible amount, or nothing at all. But it is up to you to decide what you're happy with.

diian · 22/11/2024 19:21

Advice needed!

I injected last week, but in my haste left the needle on the pen and just put the lid back on and put it away in the drawer.

This week, when my injection was due, I took the lid off to see last week's needle still on the end of the pen. I removed it, put it in the sharps bin, put another needle on and injected. This was 4 days ago and I have been fine. Was this ok to do?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2024 19:32

I can't put the lid back on if had a needle?

You must have jammed it hard or not noticed it wasn't closed properly

The lid is there for a reason - infection. And keeping all clean

If you do use make sure you wipe well with the wipes they enclose

HippoPortlyMouse · 22/11/2024 19:49

@diian It probably wasn't the ideal thing to do, but it's done now, and provided you don't react badly, treat it as a lesson learned - always make sure that needle goes in the sharps bin in future! Leaving a needle on the pen increases the risk of contamination but it doesn't mean it will happen so hopefully, you'll be just fine.

In a similar vein, the longer the pen goes over the 30 days the higher the contamination risk as it's been exposed to the outside world. It doesn't mean it turns toxic on day 31 - there's an increasing risk as time goes on. I'm not going to advise anyone to go against manufacturers advice - but @SnacklessWonder in your shoes I probably would chance it at a few days over!

SnacklessWonder · 22/11/2024 20:08

Thanks @HippoPortlyMouse I am generally not very risk averse, and it's only 5 days so I think I will just do the 6th dose and be done. Seems silly buying another pen at £150 for the sake of 5 days!

Get some insulin syringes and you can extract the bonus dose, plus a bit extra.
I generally find there's 0.8ml of MJ left once the four doses have been used.

I might be wrong but I think when you have used 4 doses the plunger is level with the last line on the barrel so, if the plunger is beyond that line you may be able to estimate what you have had. As others have said the excess amount is usually just a bit more than 0.6ml (I thought about 0.7 if you have primed every time but it may be a bit more)

ChimneyRock · 22/11/2024 22:40

Thanks for the info. I could probably ask my diabetic nephew for an insulin syringe except I don't want to say that I'm on MJ.
I think I'm going to just crack on with the first 5mg dose tomorrow morning.
