interesting to read about being put off alcohol. I’m afraid I’m not! Although I am managing fro have a much limited amount! I mostly order alcohol free gin and tonic. We went out for a meal last night. I could only managed half my steak and ate two chips. My husband made short work of the rest! Unheard of for me!

Question: I do weigh myself every day. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing. But my weight jumps about a bit. A big loss one day and then a small gain, it goes up and down much more than I though it would. Is this happening to you guys as well? Thinking of weighing only once a week? I'm w2d3.

I weigh daily and totally normal for your weight to fluctuate so much, that's the idea behind daily weighing as it means if your weekly weigh day fell on a day where you had gained some weight you might not get as disheartened as you know your weight had been lower during the week. Before I weighed daily if I ever gained on weigh day I'd binge and throw the towel in but likelihood is I might have weighed 2lbs less at some point during the week. There's so many factors that make your weight fluctuate daily which we can't control.

ItsMintUpNorth · 26/10/2024 07:10

Just to add though if you are the kind of person to become obsessive over things then weighing daily isn't always a good idea.

Thank you. I can see the logic there. Plus I guess if the overall trajectory is downwards then that's the right way forward! Thank you x

rockingbird · 26/10/2024 07:52

Finally done it ☺️ day one!

TheBoldHelper · 26/10/2024 08:11

Third jab done and three pounds off last week, feeling so grateful for this medicine. I’ve struggled for quite some time and to be able to now take a drug to take me to a healthy weight is literally a life saver.

recklessgran · 26/10/2024 08:14

Bravo! @rockingbird I'd like to bet you won't regret it.
W2 D2 here and total suppression is real! I didn't really fancy my morning tea and definitely don't want the usual second one. Water bottle it is then.

letshavetea · 26/10/2024 08:15

@recklessgran - thank goodness I haven’t gone off my morning tea! Otherwise I’d have to change my username!

That’s me. Most people recommend a daily weigh in so you get an average loss over a week or longer period and to account for daily fluctuations. But my whole mood and day is determined by my weight so I try and avoid the scales.

rockingbird · 26/10/2024 08:24

Going to get the tape measure out and start by weighing myself and measuring.. I do love a spreadsheet!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 25/10/2024 23:17

I had a single finger of a Cadburys Twirl this evening, first time I’ve had any chocolate since starting. Oh my god, it tasted so artificial and left a horrible taste in my mouth, I don’t know if I should be happy or crying, it was awful… I have a mini curly wurly to try tomorrow, hoping that I don’t have an aversion to that!

Chocolate is still tasting fine here😂
yesterday I had a caramel fredo
day before a 1 finger twirl
day before that a Cadbury ‘little’ bar

I also have curly wurlys here but haven’t fancied one of them this week

recklessgran · 26/10/2024 08:26

@letshavetea ha! ha! -let's hope nothing stops me from dancing on tables then otherwise I'll also be in need of a new username!

Fizzleaway1 · 26/10/2024 08:26

Week 2 weigh in and Iv lost 4lbs! pleased with that.

Iv lost a total of 16lbs in 2 weeks (12lbs in first week)

SW: 16st 10lbs
CW: 15st 8lbs

recklessgran · 26/10/2024 08:29

@Fizzleaway1 Congratulations that is sensational! You must feel on top of the world this morning. Great feeling.

OrlandointheWilderness · 26/10/2024 08:40

Day two for me. It's a strange feeling - managed a cuppa but not craving it like normal! Food yesterday amounted to half a plain ham sandwich for lunch, then family wanted Chinese so I ordered 6 tiny chicken satay skewers of the starters and some plain rice. Managed 3 skewers and 1/3 of the rice!
My car decided to die which was fairly dramatic and not welcome financially at all. Therefore a dram of whisky was drunk, but only a single and only one! And Friday night is normally cider night!

How strange.

Fizzleaway1 · 26/10/2024 08:43

Very pleased. I just need to be realistic that my next weigh in will probably be a pound at most to let my body adjust.

Flumpaphone · 26/10/2024 08:44

Morning all, W2 D1 done my 2nd injection this morning. Lost 4lb in wk 1 which is good.

I haven't managed to do as much exercise as I'd hoped as I went for a run and I think I've strained a muscle. Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up a bit more next week.

No side effects and good suppression. I have had a bit of joint pain though but that could be good old perimenopause!

Definitely eating much less and I'd normally have a few glasses of wine on a Friday evening, I managed to sip my way through 2 all evening. Couldn't manage any more though.

NearlyNewHip · 26/10/2024 09:06

3rd jab last night and second weigh in this morning. Lost 3.5 lbs giving me a total of 8 lbs. So pleased!! Sticking to 1400 calories a day and have felt properly hungry once in the two weeks, Thursday just gone (remembered because it felt so weird after two weeks) had a small bowl of Müsli and the hunger was gone x

TheBoldHelper · 26/10/2024 09:34

NSV. This is an odd one. But maybe some can relate. I have not been able to kneel down for years. I mean I can kneel. But I could not do that thing where you lower your backside and rest it on the back of your ankles, a sort of seated kneel. I could get in the position easily , but my ankles hurt if I did, they didn’t wish to bend back.

I can now. Easily. Whatever swelling or inflammation was in my ankles has gone, and I can do a seated kneel and stay there as long as I please. I was tending the fire last night and realised. No pain, no discomfort, did a seating kneel easily,

HansHolbein · 26/10/2024 10:21

Morning all!

I had two small glasses of Prosecco last night and it definitely tasted a lot different. It took me ages to drink it; usually I would gulp it down! I have a headache this morning so I wonder if it’s related.

@Loujab I may have a sneak peak during the week but I officially weigh once a week. For me, it’s not helpful to weigh every day. I will become obsessed. But you must do what feels right for you.

@rockingbird Yay! Well done! Drink lots today. Definitely get the tape measure out. Some weeks you might not lose lbs but you might lose inches! The good thing about this drug seems to be that even if you don’t lose weight you still have the motivation to carry on. Usually I would think ‘fuck this’ and go back to my usual ways.

@TheBoldHelper Congratulations! That’s fantastic 🥳 This drug is incredible. Life changing. I can’t quite believe it sometimes. I know what you mean about inflammation. My body feels looser? I can’t really explain it. Things feel more fluid.

@Fizzleaway1 Talking of Freddo’s.. have they been on Mounjaro too? They are so fucking flat and skinny these days!!! Amazing loss, well done.

@OrlandointheWilderness It’s so bizarre isn’t it? Everything has been turned off. I’m sorry about your car!

@Flumpaphone Lovely, well done!

@NearlyNewHip Amazing! Must be such a good boost! This drug just makes it so much easier to be sensible.

HansHolbein · 26/10/2024 10:22

Also, what is everyone doing about exercise? What are you plans? Or what are you doing? I hate exercising because I hate being sweaty but I know I need to start something.

I am probably not the typical gym goer but ........ I under stand the need to tone and keep muscle. I thought once I am over the first pen and four weeks of this I will sign up. I am a walker however and can easily do 8k steps a day no probs. I could try to up the steps instead xx

recklessgran · 26/10/2024 10:41

@HansHolbein I also hate exercise and am an avoider. I'm trying the 5 minute walk thing. You go out and just walk in any direction from your house at whatever pace you like - I'm a stroller but that's O.K. After 5 minutes you simply turn round and go home. You do this twice a day for a week. The following week you do 10 minutes and the week after 15. By then it means you're walking for an hour a day. That's good enough for me and miles better than my usual sedentary/car driving lazy self. Maybe that might work for you - I compete with myself and try to get a bit further each day [which obviously requires speeding up!] It's working for me so far but not sure about what will happen after this weekend when the dark descends!

There is an app called Shotsy, I use the free version to see how much MJ I have in my system, it’s really hand to see how it builds up and drops, especially for some of you who are struggling to ‘find’ the suppression.
when you compare the weeks you can see how it builds up.

Such a shame this isn't available on Android. Seems like it would be really handy
