I did bonus dose plus a bit extra from my next pen and so I would have been just short of 5mg. This is my step up from 2.5mg.

I was out last night with friends and had a glass of wine I couldn't finish and felt a bit uncomfortable and not really engaging in the chat. I think I will move next weeks dose to a day I have nothing social for 24 hours as I was juts wanting to get home after a couple of hours out.

Little update from me. I'm on day 6 of my first 2.5 mg dose.

It's been mind blowing. I heard the descriptions. But it's so different from what I was expecting. I thought I might feel kind of crap, and therefore not want to eat (I guess cos that's the only thing that would make me not want to eat before.)

But I don't feel crap... I just feel nice and normal but satisfied- and not just with food. I feel lighter, in balance, like I don't have this constant emotional itch/yearning.

The first few days were surreal, zero appetite and I felt I could go on for ever without feeling any hunger. Now I feel a little hunger if I haven't eaten for 10 hrs... but it just feels physical not emotional. And a little food takes it away.

I can't remember ever feeling like this - it kind of even makes me feel like a new me, because cravings have always felt like part of me.

Is this how healthy eaters always feel? They just have a different chemical make up? All this time, I've thought they must be healthier minded, and with better willpower.... if they naturally feel the way I feel now, being slim must be very very easy......?

Yeah i really do think this is an insight into how 'other' people manage with food. I was always a bit mystified when people would leave tons of their food when out at a restaurant or could only have a few crisps... now I get it

HansHolbein · 02/11/2024 20:57

Sorry I have another question… what day is everyone injecting and why did you choose that day? Is it working for you?

I currently do Tuesday but thinking of moving.

recklessgran · 02/11/2024 20:58

@HansHolbein and @financialcareerstuff it's astonishing isn't it? I love your explanations and descriptions - spot on.
I'm looking forward to my holiday now that I've figured out a way that I can actually feel well and able to function whilst [hopefully] enjoying some of the benefits of MJ. Also DH has now calmed down as he was really worried that my not feeling well would impact on my [and no doubt his!] enjoyment of the holiday. I shall stick to a high protein, low carb diet and I'm already a light weight where alcohol is concerned so hopefully I won't gain too much. This is a real "fly and flop" as we have had a terribly worrying year family wise and are frankly wrung out and knackered. I'm taking books and knitting and apart from a daily walk or two and a few lengths of the pool plan to do very little while I can get away with it.

recklessgran · 02/11/2024 21:11

@HansHolbein I initially chose Friday for two reasons, one was in case of side effects because although past retirement age I still work and didn't want to compromise my performance.[I love my job and the financial freedom that comes with having both a pension and a good income.] The other was because we tend to have a lot of treat food then, you know "something nice for the weekend." This has backfired on me this weekend as I'm guest of honour at a function tomorrow so absolutely MUST be on top form - hence my half dose decision.
I think with hindsight perhaps I should have gone for Thursday so when I get back from holiday that will be my new jab day.

Great post, this is exactly how I feel. As you say the difference is mind blowing!

Patch1234 · 02/11/2024 21:26

@financialcareerstuff your post should be pinned to every MJ thread! I'm on day 3 and that nailed it!

Tohaveandtohold · 02/11/2024 21:46

Glad to see how everyone is getting on. The key is to find a balance and see what works for you. I just took my bonus dose tonight by doing the hard twist method and it was quite straight forward based on the way it's been explained. I didn't lose a lot this week compared to the first 2 weeks but I was expecting this anyway and I'm happy about it because I want it to be slow and steady so that I can learn all the good habits along the way. Also, I didn't really have suppression last week compared to week 1 and 2 so I've used my will power a lot and good to see that I'm still losing weight slow and steady. My stats currently are

SW: 87.1kg (192lbs)
Goal: Maybe 60kg (132lbs)
CW: 79.5kg
Week 1: -2.9kg or 6.39lbs
Week 2: -3.1kg or 6.83lbs
Week 3: -1.3kg or 2.87lbs
Week 4: -0.7kg or 1.5lbs
Total weightloss -7.6kg or 16.8lbs

I'm a Tuesday as that was the day it came and I couldn't wait, but I am thinking of trying a day later but I'm only on week 2

TheChosenTwo · 02/11/2024 23:19

@HansHolbein ive done both my injections so far on a Saturday, it came on a Saturday and I was keen to get going!
Was tempted to not do it today as I’m still experiencing full suppression but I’ve just taken it as I did want to stick to the regime properly and not get all ad hoc about it.
I didn’t have side effects other than the suppression for this past week.

Dazzledee · 03/11/2024 05:22

OK, any advice/help to make this stop. Went up to 3.75mg on Friday evening, started Saturday well and by about 3pm I've had nausea, diarrhoea, the worst burps and a constant stomach pain. When I first started on the 2.5mg I had really bad diarrhoea for about 5 days but nothing else, I didn't feel ill. Where as I've not slept all night due to the dull pain and currently in my 2nd bath to help with pain relief! Anyone know what will make this better or have a crystal ball and can tell me when it'll stop! I'm meant to be going away with work on Monday and now worried I'll still be feeling this rough!!

rockingbird · 03/11/2024 05:48

Morning all, that sounds awful @Dazzledee you poor thing! Did you experience side effects like this on the smaller dose? What have you eaten recently that could have triggered this? I've also been having a rough time but only on wk2 day2 and most definitely won't be upping the dose anytime soon 🙈 one thing that has helped me is the electrolytes drink. My body was completely out of wack and I could keep nothing in - drinking one of these helps me to at least function and I've been able to take in little bits of food without it coming back up/out.. that said I've woken up and had to rush straight to the toilet ffs.

Loujab · 03/11/2024 06:19

What electrolytes is everyone using? I need to get some I think.

SunQueen24 · 03/11/2024 07:12

@financialcareerstuff
feeling inbalance is exactly how I would describe it. My anxiety and mood has stabilised. It’s made me feel really well generally - not just about food. But like a nice settled, clear mind.

SunQueen24 · 03/11/2024 07:13

Loujab · 03/11/2024 06:19

I’ve got some high 5 ones - they make such a difference if you feel a bit lousy.

igivein · 03/11/2024 07:29

Morning all
Hope you feel better soon @Dazzledee
Fifth jab yesterday and went up to 3.75, no side effects yet 🤞
Weigh in this morning. I started off weighing in kilos, because I thought it would stop me obsessing over every ounce like I normally do, but I’ve found it just leads me to thinking ‘so how much have I lost in ‘real money’ and going on a website to convert it into something l can understand, so I’m just going back to imperial.

SW: 20st 2lb
CW: 18st 8.5lb

2.5lb loss last week, so slowed down a lot from the heady days of the first three weeks, but I suppose that’s good and hope it will be sustained at this level.
Bearing in mind I’m post menopausal and for the last few years any losses have been counted in ounces rather than pounds, 2.5lbs is almost miraculous!

JulesK17 · 03/11/2024 07:46

Bassetthounddog · 02/11/2024 18:19

I too did the bonus dose a week or so ago, and somehow managed to mess it up a bit! So due to go up to 5mg but thinking had no real doses for a couple of weeks. I have got a 5mg pen but considering buying a 2.5 again (annoying as additional expense) but don’t want to feel rubbish with excess side effects…
intrigued to know about how the 3.75 would work out? X

i did the 3.76mg last night. Feel okay this morning. I always have a weird taste for a few days after injections? Will let you know how I feel this week.

ItsMintUpNorth · 03/11/2024 07:51

Week 4 weigh in and I've lost another 3lbs, determined to get to a stone this week.

SW: 17st 4
CW: 16st 6
GW: 11st 4

2.5mg has continued to work perfectly with great suppression and no side effects so I am going to take the bonus dose today and even if there is still a bit left after that I am not going to change the needle and extract the rest as I am hoping to stay on 2.5mg for as long as possible.

UtterlyQuackers · 03/11/2024 08:23

I have woken up hungry this morning. Hope the feeling passes and I continue eating healthy!

Apparently "no" is not in my vocabulary. Hence why I am fat. Hope the MJ can keep the cravings away today!

surreygirl1987 · 03/11/2024 09:41

Breakthrough moment for me - BMI dropped to beneath 30! I'm determined to never be 'obese' again! More than a stone lost in 3 weeks ... I'll take that. It's definitely working. Just feeling far less hungry.

KolaKoalaKan · 03/11/2024 09:43

This thread moves so fast it makes me dizzy! I can't keep up!

@HansHolbein I inject on a Sunday morning. I work from home so I can generally manage any day 2-3 issues at home and I actually like that by the weekend I feel I can eat more normally with the family or if I go out with friends. I don't blow out (although I did have a mini binge last night) but having a bit less suppression at the weekend is working for me to feel a bit more freedom if that makes sense. If I slow down with weight loss this way I might change to doing the dose before the weekend as I do think willpower on the weekend is harder for me. Just my thoughts! Hope they help you mull over your decision on what day suits you!

@Dazzledee oh my goodness you poor thing! That's horrid. I had a dreadful week 2 with similar plus vomiting. I basically near constantly was sipping on water/electrolytes/weak lime cordial. If I stopped it made it worse. Hot water bottle. I also discovered that not eating was making it worse. So I went for high fibre high protein nutrient dense nibbling on nuts. This started to really help. Then someone on here recommended I have probiotic drinks, so I added in one a day of them. I was fighting myself to drink and eat but I'm sure that's what actually helped. I really hope you feel better very soon.

So jab day for me today! Week 5. Did the bonus dose. Got out 2.96mg which is a nice bridge for me to get up 3.75mg which I plan to do next week as the suppression has worn off quite a bit. In fact I had my first 'binge' last night and somehow ate an entire packet of brandy snap biscuits after failing to fight the compulsion. I was so scared I'd pay for it but somehow haven't felt ill. But lessons to be learned. I had a hard week after feeling like I'd gained weight following a weekend away where I felt I'd missed out on the pleasure of eating, but still the scales have been kind overall and I've lost another couple of pounds (I have now lost 1st 4lb in total).

Overall I think MJ is really helping my mental health. I have ADHD and usually run high with anxiety but everything just feels a bit less frantic, a bit less noisy in my head if that makes sense. It's not just the food noise. It's actually having such an effect that even if I wasn't having the weight loss benefits I think I'd want to be on it for its other effects.

ShineyHappyPeeple · 03/11/2024 09:44

Well done on all the amazing losses! Week 4 for me and I've lost 1.9kg / 4lbs. Thats with zero exercise due to a busy work week and two meals out.

I've got the 5mg pen but think I'm going to try the bonus dose.

Getting back to the workouts is my priority this week.

KolaKoalaKan · 03/11/2024 09:44

@surreygirl1987 that's incredible! What a milestone! That must feel so good.

Would love to hear experiences of going up to 5mg after 4 weeks on 2.5mg? Have just ordered my next pen as last dose of 2.5mg is next week. First 2 weeks I’ve been ok with mild suppression and lost 8lbs. However my appetite suppression this past week on 2.5mg has been up and down (today I could barely eat whereas yesterday I was constantly hungry) but the cravings and food noise is back properly, so I want to try moving ip to 5mg - but concerned about the side effects!

i hear you, following those closely who have moved to 5mg as the rollercoaster of hunger has been real this week on 2.5mg!

Doghairismyglitter · 03/11/2024 09:52

Week 5. Quite gutted as ate really low calories this week and have only lost 1 lb 😔 (it is that time of the month so don’t know if that affects weight)

Just did the bonus dose which I found a faff and had to inject myself 4 times to get it out so expecting a very bruised stomach!

Going up to 5mg next week - my anxiety is back absolutely full force, panic attacks etc, which the pen had seemed to stop before and don’t seem to be losing anywhere near as much weight.
