Feeling a bit flat this morning, weighed in and only 1lb lost this week according to the scales which makes 5lb in total in two weeks. In my body and clothes it feels like a bit more but I suppose the scales don't lie. I'll try to up the exercise next week.

5lbs in 2 weeks is great. As long as the scales are going down.

Hi all.. thread moving fast! I’ve been away by myself without my husband and children and it’s been so nice!

@rockingbird Fabulous, well done you. The side effects will slow down, I’m sure. Drink, drink, drink!

@TheChosenTwo Good luck with your weigh in! Let us know. I also have PCOS. I have lost 11.2lbs so far and due my fourth injection on Tuesday and really haven’t had any side effects at all. Few burps and a few nights of not sleeping well during the first week, but other than that I’ve been fine.

@Dazzledee Lovely loss, well done. Keep checking in!

@UtterlyQuackers Everything is possible with Mounjaro! Well done!

@Crazydogmumma A loss is a still a loss! You are doing great. Good idea to stay on 2.5 if it’s working for you. Have a great week!

@quince2figs I’m also finding some hunger coming back. Picking up my 5mg on Monday. Glad I ordered it in the end. I’ve had no real side effects with 2.5 so I am nervous about doubling it but I don’t think 2.5 will work for much longer on me.

@Fizzleaway1 Jeez that’s fantastic! You must feel like a changed woman already! Miracle drug.

@Flumpaphone I understand. As women we are also battling with lots of other stuff going on in our bodies. I see the men on Reddit losing a shit ton of weight every week and it’s not fair! 5lbs in two weeks is still a considerable loss. I think the guidance is 1-2lbs a week. Slow and steady is good! Definitely take your measurements, you’ll be surprised.

@Gilly1C Loooool! Will be thinking of you today! I’ve avoided those foods too. I just don’t think about them. I did have a small piece of bread yesterday and it was very… meh. No enjoyment at all. My vice would also be anything sugar related and I’m not bothered. There have been a lot of Halloween related sugar treats in the house this week and I’ve not touched any of them.

@ApolloandDaphne Me too about the alcohol… I don’t drink at home but we’ve had a couple of social things and I’ve had a drink. I definitely can’t drink as much though and I’ve had headaches the next day.

@EVK Lovely loss, well done. It’s very hard for short women to lose weight sometimes so good for you. My poor friend is just under 5ft and if she goes over 1,000cals a day the weight starts creeping on…

All fine here with me. I’m W2D4.. forget I’m even on it sometimes. No side effects and feeling good. Getting a little hungrier so looking forward to my last 2.5.. I was definitely nervous about ordering the 5mg but I work from home and can deal with any side effects comfortably..

A NSV for me yesterday evening, I went to a quiz with some friends and halfway through, the hosts served plates of the most delicious homemade cakes. Normally I would have had 2 but last night I was able to politely decline, not with an air of smug "no thank you I am on a diet" but genuinely just a " no thanks". I had absolutely no interest in those cakes and felt full from my gorgeous bowl of soup earlier. Unheard of!
I have also discovered golden kiwis and they are so tasty on my morning granola.
Tonight is our monthly fish and chips takeaway and I usually have a mini cod and chips with a huge curry sauce. At the moment it feels unappetising😯

TheBoldHelper · 02/11/2024 10:45

I’m starting to see a difference in my clothes and me. When I say I had a signficant belly fat problem, genuinely I looked nine months pregnant. You know that swollen round extended stomach way that sticks out?

it’s shrinking at a rate of knots, now I just look fat all over if that makes sense, y stomach is not significantly out of proportion to the rest of me any more, like it was.

and that’s only 3 full weeks in. My face is also a lot slimmer, so must have been bloated before. And my boobs are shrinking, but the most weight I have lost is off my stomach, which has to be a health win.

annedawso · 02/11/2024 11:05

i know from past experience it is annoying when not much movement on scales. I have been lucky as lost 11lb in 2 weeks. However I have read that no matter how much weight you lose your body can only lose 1.5 to 2lb of actual body fat a week, so I have also lost a lot of water weight and potentially some muscle mass, which I don’t want to do. I have been eating about 80g of protein a day and weight training 4 x per week so will hopefully balance out.

Have been taking chia seeds in milk with my Greek yogurt and spoonful of psyllium husk in a glass of water to avoid constipation and let’s just say it works!!!
Glad to read pysillium husk can be used in soups and curries etc to thicken them up, so will start doing that, will also be a good way of increasing the rest of the families fibre as well.

Carlyisla · 02/11/2024 11:05

W2 weigh in 3lb loss
my suppression hasn’t been great this week and I’ve ate more so I’ll take the 3!
SW 13st 7lb
CW 12st 11
GW 10st

PomPomSugar · 02/11/2024 11:09

I’ve broken a needle. Does anyone have a link where I can buy some more screw on ones that fit the pen? Thank you

That's interesting/encouraging to read. Those are my problem areas too and I'm very much hoping the jabs will help with this.

littleburn · 02/11/2024 11:26

W5 D4 weigh in and first week on 3.75:

Height: 5'2"
SW: 12st 2
CW: 11st 3lb
GW: between 9st 7lb and 10st

Total loss of 13lb (so close to that first stone!). Can't wait to see a 10 on the scales as that'll be the lightest I've been since having DC.

I really struggled with nausea the first couple of days on 3.75, so going to stick with it for my next injection (rather than go up to 5) and see how the week goes.

Hi. Just done my weigh in after week 2, and taken my 3rd jab this morning. 4lbs off this week after last week's 6lbs.

SW 13st
CW 12st 4lbs
GW 10st

I'm only 5"2, but I know if I drop below 10st (a happy dress size 10-12 on me) I look strange. So I'm balancing the two.

Anyone else find they're completely put off carbs on these meds? All I want is meat and veg currently.

ArtfullyCrumpled · 02/11/2024 12:32

Hello
Joining the October starters!

I'm in my 2nd week of MJ.

SW 16st 4lbs
CW 15st 8lbs
BMI 39.8

I've gone off almost everything except I can manage oatcakes. Really puts you off eating! Planning healthy stir fry tonight with lots of veggies and a tiny amount of rice. It's working according to the scales.

Gilly1C · 02/11/2024 13:09

Well, I took my first 5mg jag 5 hours ago, nothing to report so far 😂😂just feels the same as any other jag day, back to full suppression. I shall keep you posted

This thread moves so fast, well done on everyone’s losses! Little NSV for me too today, went in the bath and actually felt comfortable and managed to relax in it 😀

Just received my second pen. I switched supplier to IQDoctor this time after seeing they were cheaper on the comparison website. Quick processing time and delivery.

YummyCookie · 02/11/2024 16:17

Gilly1C · 02/11/2024 08:48

That's me just taken my first 5mg dose a day early. Decided to just go for it and miss the 3.75. Pray for me 😂

I’ve also taken my first 5mg a day early (about 2 hours ago)

I was the same and 2 years of weight training hasn't budged it. I started MJ in early September and haven't lost a massive amount on the scales - just under 1.5 stone but it has all come off my huge belly that I was really struggling to shift.

What actually spurred me into getting my first pen after thinking about it for ages was trying to tie my trainers and struggling because my stomach was in the way - it was reminiscent of being pregnant and I just decided enough was enough. The stomach fat worried me more than just being bigger overall because it's such an indicator of health problems. I strongly suspect I was pre diabetic or not far off.

If I had to stop at this point I'd still be quite happy because the belly was so cumbersome and uncomfortable. Now a lot of that is gone I look proportioned even though I'm still just into the obese category in terms of BMI.

You can, yes. The expiry is what matters.

BeckyBloom · 02/11/2024 17:22

Thank you to the poster who said it was probably a bad needle when my pen wouldn't work last night. Got a delivery from Amazon and it worked just fine. Last week before 5 mg next weekend and am hoping for a lot more suppression on that.

I did 5th bonus last week, no idea how much was in it, but felt a bit off. Should be on 5mg but going to do 3.75 today and see how I get on. I have lost a stone in 5 weeks, can see a difference 😃

RunSlowTalkFast · 02/11/2024 17:35

Gilly1C · 02/11/2024 08:56

Honestly on 2.5 I had 2 weeks where it was 2lb and 1lb loss. Don't be disheartened you are going in the right direction. If you are on 2.5 remember it's a starter dose. My colleague at work lost 2lb in 4 weeks of 2.5mg and today she is on 10mg and 3 stone down. Trust the process

That's very good to hear!!
