Haha thanks @HansHolbein ! I am very excited at the prospect of not being so fat!!

TheChosenTwo · 30/10/2024 17:30

What’s everyone eating for dinner tonight? I need to cook something (okay, shop first!) and I’m struggling to think. It’s because I’m not hungry I reckon, I just can’t be arsed!
I think I might have boiled eggs and soldiers…

HappyPoster · 30/10/2024 17:37

@utterlyquackers woohooo! I'll be joining you very shortly. I decided tonight was the night.

Just nipping out for some electrolytes to add to my water and some probiotics as have read they help with some of the GI issues.

🤗 excited to get started x

HansHolbein · 30/10/2024 17:47

@UtterlyQuackers Lol! Great way to put it! Me too.. 6.5st to go 😬 but I will get there! I’m stubborn!

@TheChosenTwo I don’t want it but prawn salad. I don’t know what I want these days tbh. I say to myself that I will make something and then 3hrs go by and I still haven’t done it!

@HappyPoster Fab, good luck. Let us know when you’ve done it!

Fizzleaway1 · 30/10/2024 17:49

Welcome to all the newbies!

recklessgran · 30/10/2024 17:53

Oooh how exciting - newbies, good luck!
Chicken, mushroom and pepper orzo here. Bit carby but I'm hungry at last and have been VERY good so far. Almost 2 weeks in and absolutely NO snacks or junk whatsover consumed here. Miracles happening in the reckless house!

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 30/10/2024 17:55

NSV - I am finding my cooking has improved because I can wait longer for food. Instead of just cramming any old thing in my mouth, I'm thinking about tastes and textures and enjoying creating small plates of delicious things.

Third injection done! Hoping for another good loss this week. [must, must, MUST drink more water!!!]

As @SunQueen24 says, it’s so much easier if you have a big bottle, especially if it has a long bendy straw! I drink so much more than I ever used to with a bottle on my desk, plus the constant trips to the loo helps me get my steps in!

@HansHolbein I drink between 2.5 to 3 litres a day and still suffer with constipation 😏

Hi all, can I ask a personal question?
Has Mounjaro affected your periods at all or have they continued to be regular.

So I had one my first week on MJ. Came on time etc but first day was a lot heavier than usual (and mine are heavy anyway). I woke up and had to change the bed sheets as had gone through a super strong pad 😭. Then they went back to normal after that first day but ended after 3-4 days when usually mine last 6-7 days. I wonder if it was because of the jab or if it was a one off. Will find out this month!

HansHolbein · 30/10/2024 17:58

@Iwouldratherbesinging Oh you poor thing! It is the worst! I think a wise soul on here said to try chia seeds..?

TheChosenTwo · 30/10/2024 18:14

@HansHolbein dh is out, the dc want pizza and I don’t fancy it even though I need the calories today. I really don’t know what I want 😭 prawn salad sounds very good for you.
but I agree with @TheAmazingShrinkingWoman - I’m not ravenously hungry so I’ve got time to actually properly think about what would be nutritious, full of protein and just generally nourishing instead of raiding the cupboard for crisps and then not bothering with a proper meal but probably consuming 800 calories without even thinking about it and still imagining that I hadn’t had a meal.

Currently ‘experimenting’ with flax and pumpkin seeds, chia seeds will be next on the list!

ItsMintUpNorth · 30/10/2024 18:31

Welcome to everyone who has joined us in the last few days, fingers cross for a symptom free journey!

Soup and a protein roll here tonight, needed something quick so instead of my usual curry ready meal I'd pick up I got a lovely roast chicken soup.

HansHolbein · 30/10/2024 18:39

@Iwouldratherbesinging I always shit myself with flax seeds.. good luck!!

UtterlyQuackers · 30/10/2024 18:44

Good call on electrolytes. Totally forgot to get some earlier! Will prime some for tomorrow.

So far so good 🤞

HansHolbein · 30/10/2024 18:53

Forgot to update about dosage.. ordered my second pen this afternoon from Asda. I decided to go with 5mg in the end. Still the same price as 2.5mg. £179 I think? Approved within the hour and can pick up tomorrow. I was tempted to shop around and get it cheaper but I can afford it and I can’t be arsed.

Thinking along to maintenance.. I might switch to Ousk (sp?) when I’m at BMI 30. Has anyone else thought about maintenance yet? I think as time goes on, more prescribers will offer it so it might be easier. I do like being able to collect.

Loujab · 30/10/2024 19:02

Iloveewanthesheep · 30/10/2024 08:24

@Loujab did you do this just before you ordered your next pen then? I'm about to order my 2nd pen. I got discount on my first through blue light. Thanks

I ordered first as they asked for an order number. Right after I ordered I then messaged them with the order number and screen shot. They replied within an hour to say they have credited my account for my next order.

letshavetea · 30/10/2024 19:05

@HansHolbein - I can afford it too (very fortunate), but I’m with Oushk now which prices a 2.5 mg pen at £139 and 5mg at £149. I wouldn’t be able to tolerate a £40 difference!!! In addition their Halloween discount is 16%. Maybe worth considering sooner rather than later. I’m pleased with them - very helpful and responsive.

HansHolbein · 30/10/2024 19:09

@letshavetea Oooo interesting. Can I collect or is it delivery only? I live in the arse end of nowhere and delivery companies RM/Evri/DPD can be dreadful. That’s why I like collecting..

letshavetea · 30/10/2024 19:13

I live in a village it’s quite rural. You can choose your delivery day. It’ll be either Royal Mail or DPD. I’ve done both. In my area RM was better. Apparently it varies depending on where you live. What I like about them is how helpful and responsive they are on the phone.

Fizzleaway1 · 30/10/2024 19:17

Jabbed a day early a few hours ago today.
suppression has worn off a bit today and I’m picking at bits. Still under my calories but I won’t be if I don’t stop soon!

HansHolbein · 30/10/2024 19:25

@letshavetea That makes me feel a lot better, thank you. Especially the phone support. When I’m ready to do 7.5mg I will seriously consider them.

@Fizzleaway1 I don’t blame you! I had that yesterday. That’s why I decided in the end to do 5mg. Yesterday was a struggle… and I jabbed in the morning!!

How did today go?

I feel like I need to go to bed! 😂

I've heard really good things about Oushk, im a looong way from maintenance but as it stands I plan to use them in the run up to that point.

rockingbird · 30/10/2024 19:51

Day 5 of week 1 and I'm struggling to eat anything still.. I've just been to M&S to find some nice healthy food and was just walking round aimlessly 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've settled on a chicken Caesar salad. I managed to have a banana for breakfast and black coffee, plenty of water all day and a small snack pack of protein chicken bites but they were tasteless!! The food suppression is real. Anyone else struggling to actually eat?
