@TheBoldHelper I am on 2.5. This is my first week.

quince2figs · 27/10/2024 07:15

1 week in, and a 2.5kg loss - very pleased, especially given I had a pasta meal out with a glass of wine midweek, and a boozy afternoon out yesterday - both of these very unusual for me!
Suppression reducing slightly over the last 2 days, so looking forward to my 2nd injection this morning

@TheBoldHelper I am on 2.5. This is my first week.

Hmm, is the waking il early hungover normal though if you have a bottle of wine?

MissSmith80 · 27/10/2024 07:30

W2 D5

Early weigh for me because we are going away for a few days and I don't want to take the scales with me (but am taking MJ).

SW: 85kgs
CW: 79.4 kgs
Christmas goal: 77kgs
Goal weight: 66kgs

Loss this week: 1.8 kgs (nearly 4lbs)
Total weight loss: 5.6kgs (12lbs)

Usually if we were going away I'd be planning to blow the diet for 3/4 days so there is something very freeing about knowing that I won't/can't. I'll eat good food with my family but it will be sensible food in small portions

EVK · 26/10/2024 23:10

BTW - has anyone started using the Facebook group ? I don’t j ow how to get on it?

It was set up by @rockfordpeach but I haven’t seen her for a while, there’s a few of us on it

HansHolbein · 27/10/2024 08:19

@ApolloandDaphne Fab well done! How did you find your first week?

@quince2figs Woohoo!

@MissSmith80 Ah that’s great! Hope you have a lovely time away. Agree, it’s so good to know that you can’t blow it… even if you wanted to!!!

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 27/10/2024 08:32

Weighed in today a day early. One week on and still weighing the same as last monday, when I first injected 😬

HansHolbein · 27/10/2024 08:34

@DeltaAlphaDelta79 Annoying!! It’s early days so don’t worry yet. I’ve read that for some people, nothing really changes on 2.5mg. Plus being women are bodies are always faffing about! Make sure you take your measurements every week!

Carlyisla · 27/10/2024 08:44

Week 1 weigh in… 7lb off!
SW 13st 7lb
CW 13st
GW 10st
can’t wait to break into the 12s 😄

KolaKoalaKan · 27/10/2024 08:48

@EVK There are about 20 of us on there. Would be great for more to join. I'm on my phone and can't see who set it up but if you go on the previous thread it's on there. DM them for the details.

I'm so inspired by everyone's losses and also experiences. It's really helpful to feel like we are in it together and connected.

Just done jab 4. No weigh in as I'm away. That's been a little tougher than I thought. I miss delicious food being part of my 'holiday treat' experience. I'm scared to eat too much rich food as yesterday my tummy let me know and we were out and about without loos! I got a bit nervous it was all going to go pear-shaped! It didn't but the fear was real! It feels a bit depriving. The 'meh' about food at home isn't translating to being away where food would normally be part of the experience. I guess it's a mindset change and I'm fighting it! But trying to be kind - this is all a big change and I'm still learning! So tonight we are going for dinner at Pozza Express, so going to have a think in advance what I could order that might work without upsetting my tummy, feeling too much or feeling depriving?! Anyone have any suggestions?

AllstarFacilier · 27/10/2024 09:04

Hi everyone! I’m considering starting this week as I have a week off work. I’ve been putting it off because of holidays/meals out etc but I think I just need to bite the bullet. I’m reading though this thread now, checking if there’s any tips or things I need to consider. I’m overweight, Andy dad was diabetic due to his weight so I think it’s something I need to take seriously.

igivein · 27/10/2024 09:08

Week three weigh in today and another 1.7kg off.

SW: 128.0
CW: 119.3

Total loss: 8.7kg (19lbs)

Bit concerned because I jabbed yesterday, no desire to eat today and feeling a bit full / mild nausea and I’m going to donate blood this afternoon I’ll have to eat something before I go, because I don’t want to pass out when I stand up after!
If I’d have thought about it I’d have put off the jab until this evening.

Doghairismyglitter · 27/10/2024 09:33

Week 4 weigh in. Lost 2lbs. Half of what I’ve lost on previous weeks. Total loss 10 lbs.

Suppression has been gone the last 2 days and I’ve drank and smoked more, which I hadn’t from stomach jabs.

So going back to a stomach jab this morning and hoping I won’t get the awful side effects.

Carlyisla · 27/10/2024 09:35

@AllstarFacilier It’s hard to say as it seems everyone is different. Me personally I literally couldn’t look at food for the first 3 days I would gag 🙈 after that I could eat but felt no hunger and full very quickly. By day 6 I felt hunger again and could eat a good sized meal. However some people seem to not react as strongly as I did and have been able to eat. I think it’s a you don’t know until you try type of thing. Sorry couldn’t be more help.

YummyCookie · 27/10/2024 10:43

We had a rare date day yesterday with cocktails and I feel fine today. I think I had 5 over the course of the afternoon, which is probably a couple less than I normally would. We had food out but I just got 2 starters rather than a main meal and couldn’t eat it all. DH and kids had a Chinese when we got home and I didn’t want any! I have my 5th jab due tomorrow, feeling slightly peckish this morning.

ruethewhirl · 27/10/2024 10:55

Anyone else feel a bit sick and faint after the first jab? I woke a couple of times in the night feeling slightly queasy, and today I feel a bit lightheaded/faint, but could just be I've gone too long without eating. I was fine straight after the jab (taken about 6pm yesterday) and all yesterday evening. Only had a yogurt for breakfast, going to have something else soon and see if that helps.

Doghairismyglitter · 27/10/2024 11:24

2nd pen just arrived, ordered on Friday - very quick!

TheChosenTwo · 27/10/2024 11:35

Can I join please? Did my first 2.5mg Mounjaro injection yesterday afternoon and no side effects so far. Did make myself a lunch today and didn’t fancy much of it but I’ve put it in the fridge to have later.

ThatVividCat · 27/10/2024 11:36

does anyone change their jab site each time? have you found any difference in suppression between sites?
i’m only on week 1 & jabbed in my stomach this time.

MontyJinks · 27/10/2024 12:12

Oh my goodness! Just hopped onto the scales after week 1 and I've lost 9lbs 😲 I realise this is mainly water and from now on it will slow down greatly, and I have another 4 stone to lose, but, blimey, I'll take that as a welcome boost to my morale! Weirdly I seem to have lost some from my feet, they look 'bony' (well, like normal unswollen feet I'm guessing) 😂

MontyJinks · 27/10/2024 12:20

MissSmith80 · 26/10/2024 18:39

What an unusual Saturday for me.

Fruit, yoghurt and granola for breakfast, absolutely no appetite for lunch, no snacks. I made a stew type thing for tea and had about 3 tablespoons with some extra veg.

I am really struggling to get the calories in, feel great though, full of energy, but I am slightly concerned that it can't be healthy to be eating so few cals?

A normal Sat might start with a bacon buttie, coffee and cake out, and a decent tea with plenty of protein and some unhealthy carbs, plus pudding - the difference is stark. I want to be pleased but there's a niggle in my head that I really will need to eat more - but I would be forcing myself.

I don't think I'm the only one thinking this?

Same here. I'm on W2D1. Total suppression all week, I could easily not eat anything at all, but want these jabs to help me establish healthy eating patterns in the future, so I'm having 3 small meals a day (averaging 1200-1300 per day), making protein a priority. Food noise is non-existent, it's just so weird.

MontyJinks · 27/10/2024 12:32

@Carlyisla I started at 13st 7lbs last week, and have 'just' moved into the 12's this morning 🙌 woohoo. You'll be there soon, it's a fab feeling to go down into the next stone bracket, such a psychological boost.

ShineyHappyPeeple · 27/10/2024 13:28

Thanks for the new thread! I've just taken my fourth 2.5mg jab. I put on 0.5kg but was away for a week on an AI holiday so that's not too bad going!

I'm considering ordering the 5mg pen but keeping it in the fridge and taking 2.5mg for the next couple of weeks as I've had good appetite suppression.
