Hi, I've just been prescribed Mounjaro and it's being dispatched in a few days.

So I was wondering if there were others starting soon who wanted to have a chat.

@Noshowlomo
Can you not top up to 5mg from your new pen?
Just give yourself an extra 1/2 shot from the new 5mg pen would take you to 5 now.

I can do that? I might do it tonight then when I get home. Thanks!

piscofrisco · 15/11/2024 09:22

I'm also weeing a lot but I put it down to the amounts of water I'm drinking.
Still (fingers crossed) few side effects and not that hungry.
I don't seem to have lost 4 stone since Tuesday however which is disappointing Grin

Cantbesure · 15/11/2024 09:27

Eek! Mine arrived yesterday. I'm going to start on Sunday as I'm out on a boozy night tonight with friends. Nervous. Excited. Scared...

IHateMozzies · 15/11/2024 09:38

Feeling really sluggish this morning….very tired and I may be starting with a cold. I hope my energy levels improve soon! 😴😴😴

BleachedJumper · 15/11/2024 09:41

I feel sluggish and like my belly is full of rocks all the time, even if I've been.
Really not liking this side effect at all.

@jay55 I can really relate to this, I do suffer with a bit of constipation when I’m eating healthier. I’m also aware that the drug is slowing down the digestive process to keep us feeling fuller for longer, but I feel so bloated and rotund of stomach!

andfinally10 · 15/11/2024 09:52

Thanks @BleachedJumper. I'm moving back a day, rather than forward.... I'm gonna do it!

I'm pleased with that as a starting loss. Not gonna lie, I was hoping I'd be one of those people who loses a stone in their first week, but this is probably a lot healthier for me!
I know I won't be waiflike by Christmas but one of my first goals is to get back to a weight where absolutely everything doesn't leave me out of puff, for playing with my niblings over the holidays.

Jabtastic · 15/11/2024 11:31

I weighed this morning and in spite of all my whinges I've actually lost 8.5lbs in the last 3.5 weeks. I've even had two weekends away in the middle of it all, have still eaten and drunk whatever I want without calorie counting, haven't exercised - I blame the MJ for this to be fair as I really have been very fatigued.

So in spite of not FEELING the suppression I'm clearly still eating less than before and I haven't been working very hard at it. I definitely need to drink more water that is a real problem for me and it might help the intermittent constipation.

Editing to say - strangely I had a terrible day yesterday eating mountains of bread and bagels but maybe it just got things moving which showed up on the scales! And yes I agree about less wind!

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 15/11/2024 12:06

I'm reassured to hear that it's not just me with the impressive urine output.
It has calmed down a bit today (thankfully, as I'm on duty at work and there are sections of the day when I have to ask someone to come and cover if I need to leave to use the loo).

A colleague offered me a doughnut and I said no, which is unheard of for me.

justanothermanicmonday1 · 15/11/2024 12:43

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind me jumping on?

I'm new :)

I'm on week 2, day 2!

How's everyone getting on?

I'm not noticing any suppression this week.

I'm still sticking to my calories and ensuring I'm drinking water and getting protein etc in!

Anyone else?

Thanks x

MamaorBruh · 15/11/2024 12:45

Im struggling to est much at all - averaging 800 calories but i figured that's fine because a) I'll be drinking a glass or 2 of wine over the weekend to make it up and b) they do the 'fast800' so i'm hoping all OK.
Weigh day on Monday.

Yeah I was thinking the same, can you not just have a top up dose (on a different injection site) to top you up to 5?

Is Mounjaro known to be a diuretic?
I spent yesterday (day 1) peeing for Britain, and am now 1.5kg down (it has been less than 24h so this must be water rather than fat).

I made sure to stay hydrated yesterday and will continue doing so today.

I believe this is part of the glorious process of weight loss! 😃 especially at the start it’s normal to shed retained water (I think there is some fat lost but mostly water to begin with)

rocketgal · 15/11/2024 08:28

@Oceangreyscale this is very similar to me. I'm eating a bit of what I fancy but because I'm eating less overall it seems to be working. In the past I'd try to be healthy but eating endless boiled eggs isn't really satisfying so I'd stick to it for a few days then fall off the wagon. Now I'm thinking is this what slim people feel like? They just eat a bit of what they fancy but don't over eat!

Loving this new way of life right?! No deprivation and guilt! 🥳

W2 d6. Not had a good week. Not lost anything either.

Felt awful Sunday. Had really good suppression Tuesday then on Wednesday Had massive craving for sweets. Tried to reign it in yesterday bit obviously damage was done.

I've had an email about ordering 5mg dose. Not sure. I'll see how I go with injection tomorrow. I'm.worried I'll get worse side effects but obviously not one of the lucky ones to get good suppression on 2.5 mg 😢

Sorry you’ve not had a loss Hundredthmillionthdiet, have you had any loss so far or just not this week? You’re ver half way through the month, keep going and I hope the next dose up hits the sweet suppression spot for you 🌸

RayonSunrise · 15/11/2024 13:42

Interested by all your observations around digestive changes, needing to wee more, etc. I feel pretty "normal" here at W1D4, but there is definitely a Mounjaro effect happening because:

  • I have more than halved my food intake (intentionally, weighing & logging)
  • I have no problem saying no to treats
  • I am not at all tempted to have a glass of wine or two in the evening

...but despite what must be a dramatic plunge in weekly calories I don't feel ravenous.

No dodgy tummy issues so far. I wonder if switching my lunches to being very (skinny) coleslaw-heavy is helping with that? It means I'm getting a lot of raw veg fibre every day to keep things, er, moving.

Still just W1 though!

Hi I just wanted to post this on as just had a glass and found it really nice!
I was previously looking into protein powder drinks (am keen to up my protein game to help sustain muscle during the weight loss process and prevent muscle loss) but wanted something lighter than the usual milky milkshake type ones now that am less hungry.

I found this ‘clear whey’ one which reviewed well and is nice and refreshing, like a glass of squash! They do lots of flavours, I got the strawberry and watermelon one, it’s by ‘BULK’ (slightly unfortunate name for those of us trying to lose weight, lol 😆)

The mix suggested 350ml of water per scoop by I found it a bit to concentrated/ sweet so just added more water like you would with squash. It frothed up quite a bit after mixing but settled well after only a couple of mins.

Added benefit of being low cal too

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 15/11/2024 14:28

Hello @justanothermanicmonday1 - you are a week ahead of me.

StarShapedWindow · 15/11/2024 14:34

@Hundredthmillionthdiet sorry to hear you had no weight loss this week but I just wanted to say (although everyone is different) I just went up to 5mg and didn’t get any side effects other than slight nausea on the first day. I had good suppression on 2.5 for the first few weeks but it got less over the last week. The 5mg is definitely giving much more suppression.

Pumpkinforever · 15/11/2024 14:48

I am going to wait until week 4 before I order my next batch so I can decide whether I stay at 2.5 or move up to 5
