Hi, I've just been prescribed Mounjaro and it's being dispatched in a few days.

So I was wondering if there were others starting soon who wanted to have a chat.

W2D1 today and weigh day.

This morning I am 4.6lb down 19st 11 my new weight.

Second jab much easier. Tip not to inject straight from the fridge! My first one hurt.

I was too keen to just do it last week 😂

No side effects to write home about. Hungry today, hopefully it kicks back in tomorrow.

namechangedyetagain · 14/11/2024 20:16

Been feeling ropey today with a dodgy tummy feeling. Not sure if it was the eggs I had for dinner last night. I don't think eating a whole carton of soup followed by a ptotein mousse at lunch helped (though it was delicious). Had Greek yoghurt with granola and seeds for dinner tonight as still feeling full. Also had a glass of strawberry milk tonight. Worried that I'm eating way too much in a day.

Have you input the content into a macro counter like MFP? That might help you see the content of your calories consumed. It’s not a huge amount of food, but probably lower in protein, higher than you might think carb wise.

I’ve had a couple of chicken thighs roasted with harissa vegetables followed by 3 medjool dates. Back coffee, water and lemon/ginger tea. It’s my birthday tomorrow so I’m surprised I’m not tucking into the wine for pre-birthday celebrations but I genuinely don’t miss it. Tomorrow I will indulge.

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 14/11/2024 21:53

Second jab done last night, was glad to have it in the hope that suppression would re surface today and glad to report it did!

Not hungry but felt best to have something before heading out so had a small bowl of bran in one of the kids bowls with half banana and was definitely enough.
Interesting (not so interesting) fact if anyone else has bran to boost their fibre
All Bran vs bran flakes per 100g:
All bran is much higher in fibre, a little higher in protein and lower carbs BUT is higher in fat, sugar and calories than bran flakes.

My family were having a pizza night so I wanted to join in although wasn’t hungry, managed 3/4 slice and a few chips and was totally stuffed! Tried to soak up some of the grease with kitchen roll too, as didn’t want to bring on nausea from it being oily, which worked ok but really didn’t want much of it. Still full now 3 hours later and even skipping my evening cuppa which is unheard of

Toddler group tomorrow so again planning to get a small brekkie in beforehand so cals don’t go too low

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 14/11/2024 21:53

Happy birthday for tomorrow Mounjaropen! 🥳

Noshowlomo · 14/11/2024 22:01

Absolutely gutted that I took my golden dose today instead of going up to my new 5 pen, and I’m starving! And I’ve got a week of this before I can take my 5 now.

NSV here: I have totally stopped farting since I started on MJ and as I eat a lot of pulses it is usually a bit of an issue.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 14/11/2024 22:26

I’ve just downloaded Shotsy to track my progress - anyone else using it? Saw it on another thread here.

@ShaunaSadeki, that’s an excellent NSV! Grin

Day 1 drawing to a close - have had a slightly odd taste in my mouth but nothing drastic. Ate a normal-sized portion of pasta bake for dinner. I am slightly disbelieving that I could get halfway through a plate of food and just stop, but really hoping that happens at some point. Food plan for now is to stick to 2 meals a day and try to keep them healthy - the pasta bake had onion, tomatoes, garlic, mange tout, sugar snaps, grated carrot, capers and olives in it, plus tuna for protein. Kids hated it, naturally. Hmm I don’t want to stop eating carbs, though - I usually do and then when I come off the wagon I eat alllll the carbs. I need to work out how to incorporate bread/pasta etc into healthy eating. That said, I actually looked at the calories in a slice of bread today and decided to have oatcakes with my soup instead.

Week 3, Day 3. I inject on a Monday evening, usually I’ve really struggled to eat on the Weds and Thursdays in the previous weeks but I’m feeling more hunger this week. I was debating whether I needed to move up to 5mg and now I think I really do.

HammerbarnSausage · 14/11/2024 23:51

End week 2. Lost another 1.7kgs, still no booze.
I can't believe I've lost weight this week, I don't really have much suppression, am not counting cals or tracking. I ate an entire dominoes pizza on Monday for a bday pizza party, and felt fine, but amazingly I've still lost weight. This drug is miraculous.
No side effects, and starting to feel great, have much more pep in my step this week. Im sleeping better and find it easier to get up in the morning. Of course this could all be from detoxing off booze too, but either way it's a huge win for me. Bring on week 3.

Notadream · 15/11/2024 00:45

Took my 3rd Jab tonight instead of tomorrow morning to see if I can sleep through the sicky feelings I usually get. Felt more queasy this week as it went along but nothing dreadfull and feeling quite full a lot of the time still. A cheeky weigh in this morning showed another 2.5lb loss which i'm stoked with. I'm going to stay on a 2.5 pen for next month I think. I do find that I can push through (almost try to sabotage myself) and eat past any side effects in the last two days of the week and have realised that my lifelong food issues are absolutely very psychological and that no amount of MJ is going to fix it. I deffo can't stay on this for life as I simply can't afford it. Thank you to each of you that post here, it is such a help.

WeakAsIAm · 15/11/2024 05:55

@Noshowlomo
Can you not top up to 5mg from your new pen?
Just give yourself an extra 1/2 shot from the new 5mg pen would take you to 5 now.

Is Mounjaro known to be a diuretic?
I spent yesterday (day 1) peeing for Britain, and am now 1.5kg down (it has been less than 24h so this must be water rather than fat).

I made sure to stay hydrated yesterday and will continue doing so today.

Oceangreyscale · 15/11/2024 07:17

5'3
SW: 13st 3lb
CW 12st 11lb

Day 6 of week one and I've lost 6lb! An overstatement really as I had my period when I started but that's still probably about 3-4 lb and I haven't seen this number on the scales for a long time.

And weirdly I've still eaten birthday cake, almond croissant, pasta, restaurant mashed potato, chocolate.

I have been having smaller portions, not eating mindlessly and not really snacking. Amazing the difference.

I'm not sure it is but apparently it makes you more thirsty so maybe you're just drinking more?

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 15/11/2024 07:38

W2 d6. Not had a good week. Not lost anything either.

Felt awful Sunday. Had really good suppression Tuesday then on Wednesday Had massive craving for sweets. Tried to reign it in yesterday bit obviously damage was done.

I've had an email about ordering 5mg dose. Not sure. I'll see how I go with injection tomorrow. I'm.worried I'll get worse side effects but obviously not one of the lucky ones to get good suppression on 2.5 mg 😢

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 15/11/2024 07:40

Also not managed to go to the loo 'properly ' since' starting, despite drinking plenty water. Took a couple senna last night to try move things along a bit.

I’m on w1 d4 and also peeing for Britain! Woke up twice during the night to pee too 😬

I have also noticed this!! Weird (but not unwelcome!)

End of week 1 tomorrow and I’m away from
home tonight so weighed this morning instead of tomorrow morning. 2kg down. Happy with that - and I do feel generally ‘better’. Slightly more hungry yesterday - second jab tomorrow!

rocketgal · 15/11/2024 08:28

@Oceangreyscale this is very similar to me. I'm eating a bit of what I fancy but because I'm eating less overall it seems to be working. In the past I'd try to be healthy but eating endless boiled eggs isn't really satisfying so I'd stick to it for a few days then fall off the wagon. Now I'm thinking is this what slim people feel like? They just eat a bit of what they fancy but don't over eat!

andfinally10 · 15/11/2024 09:03

A bit of advice... I had felt really rubbish after my first in injection this time last week. Sort of ruined the weekend.y symptoms became milder and more manageable after about day 5. So my question - is it ok to push my injection day back 1 day per week for a couple of weeks so my new day becomes Sunday instead of Friday?
Instead of doing it today, I'll do it tmr morning and then next Saturday will push back to Sunday. Can anyone see any issues with this?
I just felt so crap and I do want to conftinue (because it works!) but I had really strong symptoms and would rather they came on a different day!

BleachedJumper · 15/11/2024 09:06

Yes @andfinally10 I think you can change your day. I’ve read that as long as you leave 72hours after jabbing it’s okay to do so. I’m planning to bring mine a day forward from Tuesday to Monday next week due to a changing work pattern.

Hope the senna works for you.

I feel sluggish and like my belly is full of rocks all the time, even if I've been.
Really not liking this side effect at all.
