@MargoLivebetter I agree, the article wasn't great for promoting the medication at all, when she initially started I had messaged her and she said it was the best thing she had done and she had energy and was making better choices, and she would recommend it if I was going to try it. It was Mounjaro though not ozempic. Vanessa Feltz had a better article in today's paper. X

@Blondeshavemorefun that's such a weird one about the grapes, I'm going to look into that. Is it any type of grapes? X

@ChunkyMunky that sounds awful, how do you feel this morning? Hopefully a good sleep and rest and pacing will sort you out. X

@Princessandthepie that's brilliant, it's such a great feeling to feel comfortable in clothes. And to actually get use from clothes that have been sitting unused.

@WorriedRelative you need a shaker, a whisk or whizz everything up in a food processor if you have it. X

@lmmj15 air punch for the 13 on those scales! It's the best feeling wooohooo. X

Well, I feel better than yesterday, I had a better sleep, one of the brats was up for a poo at 5.30am but I made them all go back to bed, bloody Damnations!
My DH said last night, tell me about yout day, I did and he laughed and said no wonder you're crabbit haha. He said I'm too hard on myself with moods etc and just keep going with MJ. I'll see how I get on.
The weather is rubbish today but needs must and I will head out shortly for our walk.
I bravely bought a pair of jeans in a 14, they have elastane so I'm confident I can squeeze the body in, and make them a goal if they are a tad snug 😆 also added in 2 tops. That's my lot for this year now. I'll report back when I collect them.
I'm such a weird shape though, like flat at the back, bum is flat, legs are thin, but my tummy is smaller but still chunky, it's like the weight is left on my torso all the way round and I don't like my shape.

ChunkyMunky · 31/10/2024 09:43

Feeling a bit better thanks @NippyCrab have been slowly picking at some breakfast. I’ve gone really off the rails with food lately, still under calories but not great choices. I think because I’ve lost such interest in food, I’ve been lazy and not motivated to cook properly, which has led to me grabbing quick & convenient carbs. Really must get myself back on track.

Hope you enjoy your walk.

Princessandthepie · 31/10/2024 10:07

I've just made the stupid mistake of getting on the scales ages after I woke up, after coffee etc and the scales say I'm 5lbs up!!

I'm going to ignore this reading as it's surely not right!! Damn myself for being so silly! 🤦‍♀️

mm81736 · 31/10/2024 10:17

Can I ask whether your regime is to only eat when you are hungry, or do you eat a little at all normal meal times?

I've been the same food wise. I've really lost my love of cooking and I think the whole family are suffering because of it.
I used to try new recipes all the time, meal plan etc and now I just can't be bothered.

ChunkyMunky · 31/10/2024 10:28

mm81736 · 31/10/2024 10:17

I generally only eat if I want something so often have less than 3 meals per day. Usually 2 meals, or 1 meal and a couple of snacks.

I’m trying to take breakfast to work with me and pick at that during the morning so that I don’t fall into old biscuit habits though.

MargoLivebetter · 31/10/2024 10:33

@mm81736 I'm never hungry, so I eat at mealtimes. I have 3 meals a day, that are fairly low calorie and high protein. I aim to eat approx 1000 calories a day. To be fair I was rarely hungry before MJ, I just ate for a million and one reasons that had nothing to do with fueling my body.

Are you hungry? I'm wondering what your motive for asking is.

weaseleyes · 31/10/2024 10:45

I just eat three small meals a day unless I feel rough and can't face one. Sometimes my meals are what other people are describing as their snacks. So if I'm not feeling particularly hungry, I'd just have something like an apple and some almonds and count that as a meal, but I don't generally force something down if I'm feeling nauseous (which hasn't been often). I've been trying to cut out all snacks, because that's usually my downfall in real non-MJ life, and I'd like to stick to that as a general principle in whatever my post-MJ life looks like.

I tend to fall in and out of favour with intermittent fasting as a practice, but I do think that our bodes benefit from some extended time without digesting food, otherwise it can be hard to tell if you're ever actually hungry and you can just be in a kind of permanent graze cycle. Given that MJ slows digestion, I think it's good to give the body some decent gaps in which to process stuff.

weaseleyes · 31/10/2024 10:45

And a big congrats to @lmmj15, of course! Excellent result!

eeeeeeeee · 31/10/2024 11:55

Just catching up - there’s been so many amazing losses and NSVs! Well done everyone, I’m so happy for you all. And sorry to hear that some are feeling poorly. Hoping you recover soon.

MabelSpan · 31/10/2024 12:11

@AuntieDote I buy the same brand. I think they are ok (for a mass produced product), at least they are raw and unpasteurised with nothing sinister in the ingredients. I really should investigate making my own.

eeeeeeeee · 31/10/2024 12:16

lookathatbookcase · 30/10/2024 15:26

I would just like to say that, nearly 3 months in, I am SO BORED with all of this - with remembering to inject, with waiting to see if there's a loss this week, with mainlining clear whey, with the dopamine drop, and so on and so on. The novelty has completely worn off.

BUT. It's working, and it's going to keep on working, and as others have said there's a comfort in knowing that if I was feeling similarly FUCK IT about dropping everything for another weight loss plan, I probably would; but I can just chug on with this one.

Also I had a moment of not recognising my own face in the mirror yesterday, in a good way - my features are starting to emerge again, and my cheekbones are back in play :) Onwards!

Oh that’s amazing to hear, it’s interesting how weight gain/loss impacts our faces! It’s so gradual then suddenly it hits you. Glad you’re seeing your cheekbones back!

And completely agree with you about the novelty wearing off! I’m at the point now where I don’t remember which stomach quadrant I injected last week now as there’s been that many injections lol. I noticed MedExpress has started sending slightly different/bigger needles too in their prescriptions which is a tad annoying. But as you say, it’s working and relatively fine to keep going with.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2024 12:21

@immj15 that's great well done

@NippyCrab red grapes usually

So weird as I love grapes 🥲

And a 14. Well done

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2024 12:23

@mm81736 I tend to eat 3 as that's what I will do when off mj

They may be smaller or May
Not

Today I'm hungry but Jab day Tom so assume the dose is fading

I know they say that it's in the body for a while but what. I don't think so for me

20bloodypounds · 31/10/2024 12:26

@Blondeshavemorefun hope you are feeling better this morning, it's weird that grapes do that!

@weaseleyes I had my dd home for a few days, followed by a visit from my sister. I ended up secretly having no breakfast - sort of implying I'd eaten something while they were in the shower. Both of them would be very frowny if they thought I wasn't starting the day with a proper meal! I enjoyed cooking lots of new veggie recipes for dd and just had small portions. I don't think either guest noticed that I wasn't eating snacks or more than 2 of the crisps that were out before dinner.

I agree with the general boredom regarding being on MJ, but when I get bored of any other diet I deal with the boredom by eating and drinking lots of unhealthy things. On MJ I just don't. And if I do eat too much I feel very uncomfortable. There's not a quick way to switch the medication off, so I just keep on going. I think that's the advantage of a once weekly injection.

I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks. I'd bought some linen trousers months ago and was so disgusted by how they looked that I threw them on a chair and just left them there. This morning I uncrumpled them and tried them on. They fit! And if I lose another couple of pounds before my holiday they will be perfect. They do need a bit of an iron though.

lookathatbookcase · 31/10/2024 12:46

@eeeeeeeee aww thank-you - I have similar facial structure (tho not the radiant beauty) of Gillian Anderson so it's nice to see it all emerging again.

@20bloodypounds that's a really good point about not being able to meet the boredom of MJ with eating, because it's bloody working!! back to dealing with my feelings it is (again, a similar sentiment from friends who have gone sober after alcohol who then have to deal with their feelings, without obliterating them with booze)

WorriedRelative · 31/10/2024 14:17

lookathatbookcase · 31/10/2024 08:06

@WorriedRelative A large one, say 500 ml size is what I use. Powder in first, then water leaving enough room at the top to shake; then lid on hard and pretend you're Tom Cruise in 'Cocktail'.

I will try that this afternoon thanks!

I have a smoothie maker thingy but don't really want the extra washing up.

lookathatbookcase · 31/10/2024 14:27

Feeling proper nauseous for the first time in ages today, when all I've had is a small muesli yoghurt pot for breakfast and soup + babybel for lunch. Can anyone remind me of the anti-nausea medications that folks are using?

20bloodypounds · 31/10/2024 15:14

@lookathatbookcase I got travel sickness pills OTC. I think people have recommended Cyclizine.

20bloodypounds · 31/10/2024 15:15

Lovely walk to the supermarket, autumnal sunshine. Carried all my shopping home which is my version of weight training!

Yes I found Cyclizine really good..got it online from Ouschk.

NippyCrab · 31/10/2024 16:49

@20bloodypounds Aww wow that's such a beautiful photo, very autumnal. I love that your trousers now fit, good luck with ironing those crumples 😄

We had a misty smirry walk today, no views but it was fab. Pic attached.

@ChunkyMunky @Princessandthepie I have lost my love of cooking too, i have zero notion of thinking of what to cook. When DH is home he will suggest a few recipes and I will cook but when he's away I just can't be bothered. Food is fuel now.

@lmmj15 I always have breakfast, a coffee first then depending how I'm feeling I could just have a banana and another coffee and maybe a pear before I go a walk, or I'll have a bowl with oats, mixed nuts, seeds, berries and yoghurt. I don't normally deviate from that because I'm very set in my busy brains ways 😆
I don't feel hunger as such, but I know when my body needs food. I'll have ryvita with philli with either a boiled egg or ham and tomato for lunch. Dinner is a problem for me, I never know what to have and normally have salmon or chicken with brown rice and veg. With doing the 3.75 I feel how I was at the start of 2.5. It's so apparent that the 2.5 was wearing off now, I wanted popcorn or more dark chocolate where the last 3 days I've been like an MJ robot! Fuel the tank not the cravings it's saying haha.

On another note, I have these dark chocolate covered almonds and they are lush. Try them everyone, I'll send a pic in a minute.

Walk from today. X
