@SammySays well done !! You must feel elated and so you should.. you have put in the hardwork to get that NSV and I'm sure you feel so proud 😘

AdeloreSmore · 30/10/2024 18:07

Flipping awesome losses Team August! I weigh in tomorrow and have no clue how this week will go!
I'm home alone as husband and daughter have gone up north to visit the in laws, normally I'd order a takeaway and enjoy a few days off cooking, but I have no inclination at all, so all a bit weird really!
My new 7 5 came today - was sent a question from the prescriber this time asking 'what date did you last inject?' Bit odd?

NippyCrab · 30/10/2024 18:08

@SammySays aww that's brilliant! And what a feeling it will be! Xx

SammySays · 30/10/2024 18:53

Thank you all for celebrating with me and offering such lovely support when I wobble. Such a wonderful group on here 😍

@morbidcuriosity I have kefir yogurts, love them! I also drink kombucha and have homemade sauerkraut. I am all for encouraging more of those little gut friendly bacteria!😊

can I ask what kombucha you drink? I get multipacks from Amazon the brand is called Remedy, but I do sometimes wonder how authentic they are!

I need to have a go at making sauerkraut!

My gut health is terrible, I don’t like kefir though.

SilverSprings510 · 30/10/2024 19:46

Amazing NSV @SammySays !

weaseleyes · 30/10/2024 19:46

Kombucha is very easy and cheap to make

poppym12 · 30/10/2024 19:54

Interesting times mixing mounjaro with antibiotics and steroids..... I've not eaten much at all whilst ill but the steroids have kicked in today and I'm feeling hunger like I haven't felt in weeks.

I'm still on 5mg and was hoping to stay on it for at least another pen but if the steroid effects don't wear off after the 5 day course, I'll have to rethink dosage.

I haven't overeaten but I could. Easily. I don't like it.

Are you feeling a wee bit better with your meds? X

poppym12 · 30/10/2024 20:10

I am today thank you @NippyCrab. I've actually moved from the bed to the sofa! Made me really breathless and I'm exhausted but it's a good sign that the drugs are working. Hopefully I've avoided a hospital stay.

NippyCrab · 30/10/2024 20:18

@poppym12 just take it easy, no boom n Bust scenarios x

WorriedRelative · 30/10/2024 21:36

So I bought so clear whey and tried it. Peach tea flavour.

I found it a bit sweet and artificial tasting but the worst thing was getting it to dissolve and all the lumpy bits 🤢

How do you make it not lumpy?????

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/10/2024 23:38

Just been sick again

It's official

I can't handle Grapes

Weird or what

I've not eaten for the past 7/10 days since really sick week ago Friday and the Fri before that

I didn't really think it was grapes

But

ate some around 7/8

And whoosh. They have just returned and my dinner

Feeling very sorry for myself

What other foods can't people handle

20bloodypounds · 30/10/2024 23:39

@poppym12 at the moment, you just need to eat and drink whatever is good and nutritious for you. And rest, and sleep. x

ChunkyMunky · 30/10/2024 23:45

Well done everyone, some amazing losses and NSVs.

@Blondeshavemorefun that’s really weird about the grapes, but at least you know now.

I think I’ve over done it this week. Had a crappy week in work last week, off this week with the children so threw myself into fun activities to keep them occupied. We’ve been out every day, and I was marvelling at the improvement in my energy levels, and how I was managing to walk more and stop to rest less. But tonight I’ve hit a wall. I’m exhausted, I’m nauseous, and I’ve had a few brief waves of light-headed-ness. Probably need to eat a bit more but the nausea is making my nervous, think I need some calories but can’t face having anything bulky in my stomach. My throat has been sore for a couple of days so I suspect this is flu or something, just being amplified by the MJ. Hopefully sleep will work its magic, as it has been a good week up until now.

Wingingit11 · 31/10/2024 06:03

@WorriedRelative do you have a shaker? Alternatively could use kitchen whisk!

OP posts:
lookathatbookcase · 31/10/2024 07:57

@WorriedRelative Yes, you have to shake or whisk the bejesus out of it.

Will a water bottle do?

lookathatbookcase · 31/10/2024 08:06

@WorriedRelative A large one, say 500 ml size is what I use. Powder in first, then water leaving enough room at the top to shake; then lid on hard and pretend you're Tom Cruise in 'Cocktail'.

WorriedRelative · 31/10/2024 08:09

JohnCravensNewsround · 30/10/2024 08:53

I've been careful the last couple of days to eat low fat to combat the indigestion. Still got constipation so trying inulin powder for that.
I seem to be losing my hair though. It's visibly thinned in the last 2 weeks. Anyone else?

Yes that's why I bought the protein stuff.

weaseleyes · 31/10/2024 08:14

@Blondeshavemorefun Sorry you’ve been sick again, but at least you’ve confirmed the trigger. And if nothing else it confirms the MJ has been doing something to your digestive system, even if you feel it hasn’t been very noticeable! You will have to pause the grapes till you’re done. Hope you feel recovered soon

lmmj15 · 31/10/2024 08:21

Morning all. I’ve not weighed for the last week or so, I’ve had my period followed by a full blown cold 🤧

Just jumped on now….for the first time in years the scales start with a 13 😱

SW 16st 1lb
CW 13st 13lb

Princessandthepie · 31/10/2024 08:51

@WorriedRelative I've got My Protein one, I find giving it a good shake in a water bottle, then leaving it for a few minutes then shaking again helps dissolve the lumps.

It is off putting but they do dissolve eventually.

@Blondeshavemorefun hope you feel better soon.

@SammySays that must feel great!! I've lost 2 stone, my tummy is visibly flatter, but I've not bought any new clothes. All the jeans I had in the wardrobe now fit more comfortably but I will admit that all my tops look huge on me now. I was a size 20 before and I think I'm a small 18 now but certainly not a 16.

I think I'll save buying new clothes until the spring/summer. We're all covered up for winter anyway.

MargoLivebetter · 31/10/2024 08:52

Weird about the grapes @Blondeshavemorefun but at least you know now.

Whoop @SammySays on your shopping trip. Whoop immj (I can't seem to add your username) I bet that cheered you up after being poorly.

I agree about diets being boring @weaseleyes . This is the longest I've ever stuck at one and it is really dull, BUT doable.

There is an article in The Times today about Nadine Dorries having taken Ozempic but more about the divide in opinions on weight loss injections. However, the misunderstanding about rapid weightloss is there again. That the drugs alone lead to the loss, rather than the fact they allow people to diet.
