Just checked my BMI- it’s official, I’m no longer obese, I’m overweight!!
BMI started at 34.2 and now my BMI is 29.8.
Another 2st and I’ll be just into the healthy range, but need to lose 3st because I don’t want to be right by the line from healthy to overweight- otherwise one slice of cake 🍰 & I’ll go from healthy to overweight in 5 minutes!!
However, this weight loss journey finally seems possible, and before MJ I really had given up ever thinking I’d be thin again, now it’s beginning to seem that perhaps, just perhaps, it might be possible after all.

Whoop @Glittermoonlight

Well done !!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2024 21:20

Sorry I can't quote a quote @VioletCrawleyForever

I can't work out how you are thinking about 12.5 if started aug and take the bonus dose

As I'm starting ten week after next

So you seem to be a month ahead

I assure you that I started on 3rd August.

Last dose of 7.5mg tomorrow.

Next week I move up to 10mg.

I've been contacted by my supplier today to ask if I want to move to 12.5mg with my next order.

owlyboo · 25/10/2024 21:58

@VioletCrawleyForever hope your journey has gone well! I think I've missed your other posts. How have you got on?

Glittermoonlight · 25/10/2024 21:58

Thank you @Blondeshavemorefun! Not been in the overweight category for about 5 years!!

VioletCrawleyForever · 25/10/2024 22:06

No worries. I've name changed.

I'm just about to pass the 2 stone mark. So pretty happy. 😃

owlyboo · 25/10/2024 22:07

@VioletCrawleyForever well that makes sense! Well done on your amazing loss! Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2024 22:09

Ah gotcha @VioletCrawleyForever Same as me then.

Well I was meant to start 10 after the bonus

But if you read above I syringed .2 to make an extra 2.5 to make 10

And officially start 10 next week

Sorry didn't meant to suggest you were lying

I just couldn't work out how you were on 12.5 now

But you aren't - that will be the next one in 4/5 weeks if include bonus

I find within a week of new dose supplier email to say time to order new higher dose

I tend to wait till between 2/3 week to see how doing

But I have always gone up

So I'm likely to go to 12.5 when I next reorder

Unless of course suppression is good on 10

How have you found suppression - are you like me and not really had or like others on here and feel full /can't eat

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2024 22:10

Whispers - who were you ?

Someone asked a couple of days ago (@poppym12 maybe?) about why we need to drink water - apart from that it is good for us. The biochemical process of lipolysis (breaking down fat) requires water to make it happen - if my ancient chemistry degree memory is correct it takes 3 molecules of water to breakdown one molecule of fat. If we are dehydrated then breakdown of fat is slower.

Also, with regards to losing weight at a steady state, the lipolysis process means that the fat cell gradually takes on water as the fat decreases. Sometimes this can actually lead to a weight increase, until all the fat in the cell is broken down when the water is released (sweat, breathing, pee) and there can be a downwards 'woosh'. I've added a picture that demonstrates...

@MabelSpan thanks for your post about your mental health. I find that my phsyical and mental health can often be linked. I've strugggled this week with slightly upping my MJ dose, feeling unable to eat properly but then in a social situation eating too much for my delicate stomach and feeling awful and unable to sleep. I was staying with friends and not in control of my meals and food. My friends don't know I'm taking MJ (they definitely wouldn't approve) and my lovely pal is also very observant about everyone's food and eating habits. I was pushing the amounts I was trying to eat and ended up just feeling sick and bloated. 3 days of that and my mood was really low. It didn't really settle until the amount of MJ in my body was lower and I was back home and able to eat more consistently.

@NippyCrab you tagged my by mistake in an earlier post but I'm also a lightweight MJ woose, so have been pondering the same dilemma. I've been taking 2.5mg every 5 days, and have ordered a 5mg pen for my next one. But my experience this week means I'm going to continue to take it really slowly.

@MargoLivebetter totally understand the 'imagined self image' versus the reality. A couple of years ago I thought I saw my long deceased Mum in a shop. It was my reflection Blush. I also think I'm still around my mid 30s actually closer to mid 60s

That's perfect, thank you. I thought there must be some scientific reason but could understand why. Now I do Grin.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2024 23:16

@20bloodypounds Makes sense

I do ddink a lot of water

HereIfYouNeedMe · 25/10/2024 23:50

@Blondeshavemorefun thanks for the 48 clicks reply on the other thread 🥰

MissFancyDay · 26/10/2024 00:11

@Blondeshavemorefun you may be right about 10.5 stone being too low for my height. The last time I was that weight I was in my twenties, slim and sporty, with no chest to speak of. Now I'm a barrel with a large bosom (thanks kids) Getting smaller though!

@NippyCrab 5mg has been fine for the last two pens, with fairly strict calorie counting. I am going to order 7.5 next I think, I need more suppression over the Christmas period or I will be scuppered.

Ellepff · 26/10/2024 01:46

How is it page 11 😂 how did I get so far behind. And am in bed realizing I forgot to inject today. But that explains yesterday and today’s odd food choices

Wingingit11 · 26/10/2024 05:51

@Ellepff I know - I can’t keep up 😅
well done @Glittermoonlight for the move ! I’m looking forward to that but it’s going slowly now. I need to shake up exercise (or lack of !)

@Wingingit11 I know this thread is so active, it's also lovely but hard to keep up!

Well done @Glittermoonlight

Thanks for sharing that @20bloodypounds - very interesting!

I've had a NSV at the gym yesterday. Unfortunately I have lost a bit of strength after the weight loss I've had, but I have much more stamina, better mobility and cardio is easier.

Yesterday at boot camp we did a tough workout where we had to get through 3 sets of 4 exercises at 40 reps, then 20 reps, then 10 reps of each, followed by a 500m run. I was one of only two people in the group that finished all the sets and the run. The other guy that finished is 19 and training to pass his army fitness test! I was pretty pleased with that. Also swam 1km in less than 30 mins for the first time ever afterwards. Moving just feels easier now.

morbidcuriosity · 26/10/2024 07:40

I'm an August starter, and I think my weigh in this week is going to be 0 loss or maybe 1lb gain. Any one else had this about week 10.
I've not eaten any more, still very under TDEE . But I think I may have drunk more water this week..
I'm not too sad as I know I haven't eaten rubbish, still no chocolate crisps etc, just don't fancy them.

Anyone else get a stall at 10 weeks?

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 26/10/2024 07:43

Morning all, so many of you are doing amazingly - looking for advice/thoughts please... I'm on my 2nd 5mg pen. Did 1 2.5 pen, had good suppression, head felt clear lost 10lbs but suppression fading quicker each week so went up to 5. Felt good but over the month only lost 5lbs. Unfortunately had ordered a second 5mg and am due my 2nd jab today. I put on 1lb last week and 2lb this. I have no suppression and though I'm not terribly interested in food, I'm eating crap and my head feels chaotic. Wondering if I should do an increased jab from today's pen, what do you think? I'm ordering a 7.5 for my next one but at this rate I'll put a stone back on before I start it 😢

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 26/10/2024 07:44

Ah morbid xpost - I feel your pain (although I am also eating crap).

Wingingit11 · 26/10/2024 07:49

@morbidcuriosity yes completely. Found it a bit depressing but if you read about it stalls when you lose 5-10% of body weight are common as it’s your body trying to stabilise. Twee but you’ve got to trust to process and keep pushing on!

OP posts:
morbidcuriosity · 26/10/2024 07:52

I shall keep pushing on .

Starting 21st August 18.6 last Monday was 15.13.. so all good but had a sneaky jump on scales this morning and it's between 16 and 16.1..
I was so happy to see a 15 now I think I'm gonna have to wait a couple weeks to see a 15 again.
I don't know what % loss that is, but probably around 10% .

morbidcuriosity · 26/10/2024 07:55

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 26/10/2024 07:44

Ah morbid xpost - I feel your pain (although I am also eating crap).

I have my 2nd 5mg in fridge to start Monday, and also a 7.5 as I over ordered.
Thinking maybe doing my dose tomorrow instead and bringing my 5mg to every 6 days..

I'll see how I feel tomorrow.

SilverSprings510 · 26/10/2024 08:10

I can’t keep up with the thread - it was on page 3 when I last checked in! I’ve had a very busy week and really haven’t eaten well - as in, I’ve gone to bed of an evening and had no tea etc. I am on half term now though so hoping to make me and DC some lovely lunches to make up for it!

How's your sleep? If it's been poor, that might explain craving crap. Sleep can have a huge impact on appetite control and I have really noticed it impacts suppression from the jag if I've slept badly.

You may also not be eating enough of the right things. It's not just calories in/calories out, it's also what those calories are made up of. You will feel chaotic and unfocused if you're eating lots of refined carbs and sugar and still undereating in terms of calories. You need high quality protein and nutrients and fibre to feed your body and brain and feel satisfied. Salty, sugary/refined foods will also contribute to water retention and bloating. It can also be helpful to ensure that your fasting window (time when you don't eat) is at least as long as your time when you are eating, e.g. 12 hours of eating in the day, 12 hours of no food during the later evening, night and early morning.

You also won't continue to lose at the same rate as you did at the start. Mine has slowed down after the initial big loss, I had a week of no loss and then roughly 0.5kg a week now but when I started it was more like 1.5kg a week.
