NSV today: I was at toddler class with DD2 and we had to do some hopping (sleeping bunnies). Before I would have just been a bit careful and sort of rocked up and down, but I did a hop today and realised I can jump! So I was bouncing about like a mad thing Grin I hadn't even realised being so heavy was affecting me like that until today.

I love this. Well done. Those little changes are so great to notice and feel good about.

Hop little @doodleschnoodle , hop, hop, hop

I'm at the end of week 9.

This week I've lost 2.6 lbs. I've lost 21.7 lbs since I started mounjaro and 27.7 in total. SO close to 2 stone now which feels amazing.

I've upped my calories a bit for the second half of the week. I'd been doing fast 800 but I feel its time to move up a bit. It doesn't seem to have stalled me as yet.

Interested in the discussion today re moving up to 7.5. I'm on my second 5.0 pen and undecided about what comes next. I also need to decide what my goal is. I'm 5 ft 2 so at most I've got another stone and a half to lose but I'm not sure how sustainable that would be.

MetabolismLost · 08/11/2024 06:22

I’m about to take my 2nd dose of 7.5mg this morning. For the first time since starting the medication I’ve got to day 7 and there has been minimal wearing off of effectiveness.
If I continue to feel like this, then I’ll stick at this dose. Still no side effects.

Finally someone has noticed! My mum said last night that I looked like I had lost a bit of weight, then this morning said actually you have lost A LOT of weight. I’m generally hiding under big jumpers and wide leg trousers at the minute, with a view to stepping out of my chrysalis around March time like a toned, svelte butterfly. That’s the plan anyway 🤣

Hahaha LOVE this! 🦋

Tipster100 · 08/11/2024 06:56

@seconddesk your gentle nudging to not let everything slide for another half term week has meant a loss for me today - thank you. I took control of everything that I could by upping my water and protein and then just letting the parts I couldn't control go and I'm down 4lb which is the most I've lost since the first week.

Like @EJA24 I'm also hoping for the big reveal in spring! I'm actually worried about Christmas parties and anyone noticing. The thought of spending the whole night having people come up to me and chat about my weight fills me with horror. As someone who has gone up and down all my life I find it embarrassing that people notice me getting thinner - and therefore fatter! By March hopefully I'll have lost all I need to and then I can pretend it happened ages ago.

Tipster100 · 08/11/2024 07:22

Sorry @sylv165 is the chrysalis.

MissBPotter · 08/11/2024 08:19

@Tipster100 thats amazing well done I really think protein is so important.

I have lost a couple more centimeters now,
especially around my hips, and have already lost a fair bit around the waist although this has slowed a little bit. I’ve also dived in to selling some of my bigger clothes on Vinted and I wore a dress that hadn’t fit me for ages yesterday.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 08/11/2024 08:19

Another 2lbs down for me. That's 1 stone 6lbs lost in 8 weeks. Delighted.

3.75 isn't making me horrifically nauseous for the first 3 days like 5 did which is a relief.

Selling clothes!! Wow! That must feel amazing. I imagine I'll be tempted to keep mine in case I go up again but maybe selling is a much better idea and incentive for staying slimmer. Taking note..

Haha I will probably regret it but as I’m also moving soon and need to clear out I thought I’d go for it. Unfortunately I got rid of loads of my smaller
clothes a while ago thinking I’d never be an 8/10 again but I’m hoping I will be soon.

20bloodypounds · 08/11/2024 09:50

@Tipster100 It is strange and annoying how people feel that it's OK to comment on our weight. 6 years ago when I was at my lowest for a low time, someone (the wife of a friend) accosted me at a bbq and went on and on and on about how much I'd lost and how much better I looked and how I needed to eat properly and that I mustn't lose any more. All at very high volume.

As a consequence I felt that everyone was looking at me and judging me what whatever I did or didn't eat. Of course that was all in my own head, but ir ruined the occasion for me.

I've got a day out with my dgd tomorrow so I'm delaying my next injection till after that so I can join in with her rather than pushing a bit of lettuce around my plate.

skiptrip · 08/11/2024 09:57

1.5lb of this week (sometimes that .5lb matters!) - very happy with that as it's been a busy week socially so I haven't been making the healthiest choices. I've not loads but not the best stuff and had a few drinks. The sort of week I'd probably have gained if it wasn't for the MJ.

Took my final dose of 5mg last night and no queasiness at all this morning which is a first. I seem to be adjusting so will stick with the plan and go up to 7.5mg next. Here's to shifting a stone and not being technically 'obese' any more, just plain 'overweight'!

drowningbutwaving · 08/11/2024 10:25

Week 10 for me, I'm 1lb off 2 stone loss! Second pen I moved up to 5mg but have dropped back to 2.5mg last week and this week due to side effects. Not that they were terrible but an almost constant nausea and heartburn which I've not had on 2.5mg. Still having suppression on 2.5mg but am able to eat as well so currently feels like the right balance.

85reasons · 08/11/2024 12:17

First 7.5mg dose for me today. Ummed and ahhed about whether to do it, but I wasn't having side effects at 5mg but barely any weight loss over the last month, so thought I'd stick to moving up.

Hildabaggins · 08/11/2024 14:08

1lb on for me this week. I am disappointed but never mind. All I can do is move on and hope things improve.

I’m having second thoughts about continuing with my next pen. I’m due to start 5mg next week but all the recent reports in the news about the side effects has made me panic a bit.

EBoo80 · 08/11/2024 16:11

Do you mean the woman who died @Hildabaggins, or has there been other stuff in the news? There doesn’t seem to be enough information about whether there was any link between the drug and her death for me to worry unduly. She had been on it for two weeks: I think if it has been some huge reaction than that is less likely to occur several months in?

Hildabaggins · 08/11/2024 19:36

@EBoo80 yes that’s what I meant. Yes you are right, there isn’t much information about it. I am the sort of person that worries a lot and I jump to conclusions, I need to stick to the facts.

mimosa1 · 09/11/2024 04:55

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I posted but as one of the very slow losers who feels awful on a higher dose, I thought the below might be interesting for some of us.

Basically, I started on Sep 12 had awful side effects on 2.5mg and dropped down to 1.25mg and have been losing albeit slowly since.

I lost most weight in my first week (3.2 kg feeling like death - 0 stars /do not recommend) and after a second week when I lost 1.1kg still on 2.5mg but had to cancel a critical work meeting as I felt too awful, that's when I dropped down to half a dose.

I've been on 1.25ml since and have lost 1.7kg in the intervening 6 weeks for a total loss of 6kg in just under 2 months. I will say I've found it relatively "easy" in that suppression has been good - am eating normally, just less.

I've just tipped into overweight from obese and have a way to go yet but the scales are moving and wanted to share for those who are losing slowly and/or are very sensitive to side effects.

I've found this thread invaluable and have stocked up on cyclizine and immodium to see how I fare on 1.825mg / 45 clicks this week, although I feel rough, I'll drop down again.

I'm loving the clothes chat, btw. Sounds like an excuse for a charity shop rummage for something in a smaller side to tide one over until one's weight stabilises.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

EBoo80 · 09/11/2024 07:58

So good to hear from you @mimosa1 . Sounds like you’ve found a good balance for you, and good luck with moving up a little this week!

jupiterhigh · 09/11/2024 08:58

Week 9 weight in for me today, I didn't weight (officially) last week because I was on holiday but over the two weeks I have lost another 4 pounds taken my total loss to 1stone, 13 pounds and a half.
It's been interesting to see the weight change this week, I weighed myself on return and I had put on 2 pounds, I thought this was more hangover related and didn't panic, but it was wonderful to see it dropping each day.

I took my 5mg dose one day late too due to being away but I am going to revert by to my normal jab day this week, taking the extra dose from the 5mg pen before starting the 7.5mg next week.
I think I have been lucky side effect wise, I have only really had consispation and even that seems to be settling down now.

SpottyBumPony · 09/11/2024 10:37

NSV I flew to Scotland yesterday (weekend visit for a Birthday Party) first I didn’t need an seatbelt extension on the plane and second I spent all evening dancing to a Scottish band and learning the dances. A proper ceilidh!

Lots of people said I looked fab and it wasn’t exhausting to dance the night away.

HippoPortlyMouse · 09/11/2024 17:45

@mimosa1 that's amazing you're having results on such a small dose (not so amazing you had to find out by starting on 2.5 though)! Glad you're doing better. Losing slowly can be frustrating when you see people posting up their 3+ lbs weekly losses, but everyone's journey is individual (says me who has lost nothing this week). Keep on keeping on!

@Hildabaggins Understandable to worry, I think. I'm not sure if throwing some figures at the issue will help, but there are almost 70,000,000 people in the UK. In any given year, 56 of 100,000 people will get acute pancreatitis (that's about 3,900 per year). Of those, 5% die as a result. (www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng104/chapter/Context)

This lady's tragic death is a single case in which Mounjaro may have played a part. She may well have had pancreatitis triggered or exacerbated by mounjaro or the associated weight loss, but the risks are vanishingly small.

If mounjaro was a common cause of pancreatitis, we would have seen it by now, in the clinical trials and in user data among the thousands of us taking it.

We would all do well to be alert for symptoms, of course. Low risk doesn't mean no risk. Everyone's got to make that call for themselves (with advice from medical professionals where needed), and for the sake of our physical and mental health.

Sorry to hear about your bbq experience although can completely relate. It's so embarrassing being the focus of attention for everyone whilst they stare at your body and critique it all!

In NSV's this week I have had to go up a hole on my watch strap :)
