Wow @ShiftAMountain, nearly 50lbs that is brilliant!! Well done.

I am now very close to my goal and it feels great. I only have another 7lbs to lose so I am starting to buy clothes. Size 10!!! I have been a size 8 before but only for about three weeks as it was too hard to maintain. So I will stop at size 10.

my BMI is 25.1.

i am moving up to 7.5mg next pen (it’s in the fridge) because weight loss has more or less stopped and I am starting to feel hungry again. Food noise is creeping back.

My main concern now is maintenance. I want the yo-yoing to stop. I want this to be the last time. But everything I read says as soon as you stop it goes back on. I will stay on as long as I am allowed, but so many stories of people being refused and cut off.

FelicityBeedle · 02/02/2025 12:58

That is bloody marvellous @ShiftAMountain
I finally hit my milestone of being under 100kg, probably for the first time since I was 20, 26 now. I’ve also now lost 6 points on my BMI, half way to just being overweight! Essentially I’m a very happy bunny today!

Floofypuppy · 02/02/2025 13:28

I bought a dress in my normal size. Way too big. Oh the joy

I keep forgetting I have lost weight and go for the larger items in my wardrobe. I have been waiting until I am small enough to fit into some favorite things - but they are too big now!

Had a really good month since Christmas. Started on 7.5mg on the 6th of January and lost half a stone in 4 weeks. That's the most in a 4 week period since I started.

Started on 10mg yesterday and feeling. Bit sicky, but hopefully I'll continue with the 2lb a week. It's been very slow going for me up to now.

ShiftAMountain · 02/02/2025 16:43

It's lovely hearing about everyone's SV but even better to hear about all the NSV - especially the ones that mean people are happier within themselves.

Well done everyone on your continued losses.

I lost 2.5lb this week which I'm very pleased about as I'm a slower closer as sticking to 2.5mg dose still.

What's really weird is that after 3 months on 2.5mg and being absolutely fine, at the end of Dec I started getting diarrhoea and projectile vomiting within a couple of days of injecting, along withburos that aren't sulphur like but they're definitely not normal burps. This lasts for 12-24 hours and then I'm fine until the following week. It's happened 4 weeks out of the last 5 now, and it took me 2-3 weeks to be sure it definitely was not a bug.

I've lost just over 2st now though and have gone from size 20/nearly 22 to a size 16 in most things and people have started asking if I've lost weight. I'm hoping my side effects settle down soon, as it's pretty horrible for that short window when I can't leave the bathroom! It's so odd to get them so many months on, when my dose hasn't changed at all.

CW: 13st 0.75lb
GW: 10st something?

JustWalkingTheDogs · 03/02/2025 15:22

Took my first dose of 10mg on Saturday and I've been sick as a dog ever since, even vomited today.

I've had next to no side effects up to now, also limited suppression which is why I've been losing very slowly, about 1 lb a week. But wow the suppression is something else now, I'm struggling to eat anything. Cold apples from the fridge is about all I can stomach right now Envy hoping it'll ease off during the week:

Cocoaone · 03/02/2025 19:38

Oh @JustWalkingTheDogs - I feel your pain. That's what I've been like on and off (apart from the vomiting) and why I'm still only on 3mg. It's miserable isn't it.

I don't really have any good advice as when it's happened for me I've gone back down and then very slowly increase. But I have always lost well, as the trade off. Maybe look at what you are eating - I find bread and pasta absolutely makes me feel uncomfortably full for at least 2-3 days after.

ShiftAMountain · 04/02/2025 06:07

I know it's early but has anyone seen this:

www.theguardian.com/science/2025/feb/04/uk-online-pharmacies-rules-wegovy-mounjaro-ozempic

That's worrying! Might there now be delays as pharmacies move to this and/or price increases to accommodate the extra work for them?

OP posts:
Cocoaone · 04/02/2025 06:26

I agree, worrying but equally I do think it's needed. There are a lot of idiots out there....

It's hard to see how these measures will be implemented in a timely manner, without added delay and expense. Which could push people to more risky methods of obtaining the drugs.

Bellyblueboy · 04/02/2025 06:32

It worries me because I am now close to maintenance and I don’t want to put the weight back on so wanted to stay on it for as long as possible. my target BMI is 23, and I would want to be prescribed a maintenance does for as long as possible. That might now be more difficult.

I do agree it would be easy to lie to get the drug - but an underweight person would struggle to oretend they are obese because of the need for photos and proper ID. Not sure how people were getting round this?

ShiftAMountain · 04/02/2025 06:36

I can see the video consultation working. That is going to be pretty hard to 'fake' I think. But probably not needed every month for those who have shown themselves to be obese. After all, there's only so quick you can go from BMI 40 to 20 Grin.

ShiftAMountain · 04/02/2025 06:50

Oushk just posted that it's going to lead to price increases to accommodate this. Angry

OP posts:
Cocoaone · 04/02/2025 08:01

I think the biggest change will be that they will have to stop doing discounts and introduction offers.so even without the added cost of the face to face consultations, that will instantly up the price by 10-20%.

They can't really disrupt people's medicine regime, and it will take time to ensure they have enough capacity to do all the checks.

So maybe it will be a slow roll out - giving them 6-12 months to get everything in place and until then, photo checks on every order and sending letters to GPs (as some pharmacies still don't) so GP admin staff can ensure there are no major discrepancies between a patients given weight/height and what's recorded on the GP system?

Pashazade · 04/02/2025 09:35

Someone suggested on another thread that maybe high street pharmacies could do weigh ins and pass on the info, this would definitely work. I'm with Asda as I just wanted a name I knew so I'll be curious to see if this is applied retrospectively given it's been almost six months of use. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ShiftAMountain · 04/02/2025 10:14

Oushk have posted a bit more info on their FB page this morning and perhaps it's not as immediately drastic as we feared. To summarise:

  • they are reviewing what they need to do to meet these requirements, looking at occasional video consults (e.g. every 3 months) as well as greater photo requirements, such as containing name and date and scale values
  • they have not had any official comms from the GPHC (yet)
  • for now they are processing orders as normal and will communicate more if/when they have to change process

Finally in the 14's - my fat has been scared away by the prospect of being video called to get my meds.

@10storeylovesong - I must admit I felt the same as you in 7.5mg and 10mg, I had a plateau and seemed to be stuck around 115kg for quite a while. My appetite didn’t seem particularly suppressed.

I’ve now taken 3 doses of 12.5mg and it seems to be working well again.

I try not to weigh too often as it’s disheartening when the scales don’t shift however I have lost 18kgs since starting in September - that’s an average of 2.2lbs per week which is pretty good!

I’m the same, having very little suppression and starting to pick between meals again. I went completely off chocolate and really enjoyed fruit, protein yoghurts etc but, guess what, that’s all gone out of the window and now biscuits, chocolate and ice cream are finding their way back! I’m so disheartened and know that it’s down to me but I thought taking the medication would at least help support my weight loss efforts.

FelicityBeedle · 07/02/2025 18:01

I’ve went up to 7.5 today, having ordered it when 5mg wasn’t giving the best suppression and I had plateaued, but my last two weeks of five became very effective and I had a good drop. Decided to give 7.5 a go and I’m regretting it a bit, next to no appetite today. I’ve only eaten some crisps, not the healthiest choice but the only thing I fancied.

In other news my DP took his first jab with me last night! I don’t know how he’ll fare tbh, I think he eats a lot from boredom rather than hunger but I’ll be glad to be proved wrong.

Bellyblueboy · 08/02/2025 12:52

My BMI is 24.9🍾🥳🎊🎉

I am 6lbs away from my target weight.

While I am not 100% sure I have set the correct target weight - and I know I am only a smidge underneath 25 - I am not even overweight today!!!!

ShiftAMountain · 08/02/2025 13:02

OMG @Bellyblueboy - that's amazing!! Well done, I'm so chuffed for you.
