@Cocoaone please don't feel like you're cheating. It's giving you a hand, making it easier to do the right thing and make the right choices. Yes it's an easy option compared to feeling miserable and starving for months on end, but it's also one you can stick to rather than saying fuck it after a couple of bad weeks.
I got so tired of losing the same half stone every time I tried and then the second I took my eye off the ball it went back on.
I could maintain but I couldn't loose beyond a certain point, so the relief of using MJ and being able to stick with it is so important to me. I'm almost at a point where I will be honest if people ask (seeing Uni friends in a few weeks and have a feeling there will be questions) but so few people have commented and I've lost 2 dress sizes and 2.5 stone!!

ShiftAMountain · 26/01/2025 16:14

End of week 18
1.2lbs lost, 45.8lbs total.

@Cocoaone, I think your husband's reaction just shows us then men are also subjected to the same toxic thinking that confuses weight with morality somehow so that they are left feeling 'doing it the hard way' is somehow morally superior. It's sad that we are all so messed up about food and eating like that.

In the end, all that matters is that you are as happy and healthy as possible!

Thanks both. I know you're right, but emotionally it's hard!

@ShiftAMountain - no matter how many times I tell him that weight loss is 80/20 diet/exercise, he's convinced that the only way to lose weight is to spend hours working out.
Well done on your loss - how is 7.5 treating you now?

@Pashazade - I was with some friends last week and no one said anything at first. Then one person said I looked great and they all then chipped in to say they'd noticed I'd lost weight. So 100% people are just too polite to mention it!

ShiftAMountain · 26/01/2025 16:36

7.5mg is still at the top end of effectiveness so I need to plan the first 2-3 days after the shot carefully to avoid too many side effects. But it's manageable now. I have one more dose in the pen and think I'll stay at 7.5mg for at least another pen or two.

I still haven't told anyone at all I am using WLD so it's definitely easier to say 'don't feel bad' than it is to live by that guidance! Grin

Cocoaone · 26/01/2025 16:56

Well 10/10 wouldn't recommend Grin

I think I'd probably feel better about sharing if I was much bigger when I started. Almost like you're more worthy of the help. Although I was 15st /34 BMI this time last year, I think a lot of people would have been shocked had they known my weight. I carry a lot around my bum and thighs and wear a lot of flattering dresses, so the bulk of my weight wasn't as obvious, if that makes sense?

So in some ways, I feel like people would also judge me for using the jabs whilst not being 'big enough'. And most people you never have a deep enough conversation with to say - actually my BMI is x, I've got high cholesterol, I'm a smidge away from prediabetes, I've got bad knees, higher risk of x/y/z etc

So much emotional stuff linked to weight, isn't there?!

Anyway, I saw the other day that a 2l bottle of coke weighs around 2kg. So in total, I've lost 11.5 bottles of coke off my body in a year (not all on WLI, but mostly). That's amazing !

Bellyblueboy · 26/01/2025 17:03

I have been really hungry this weekend - and food noise and cravings are back😩.

i demolished nearly a whole tub of incredibly cream last night. Self control out the window.

i think I will move up to 7.5mg next pen. I really wanted to avoid going higher than 5mg. But this weekend I have been out of control!

JustWalkingTheDogs · 24/01/2025 07:00

Who are you using to buy your pens through?

I’m in Australia so I go through myweightloss clinic and then they just email me a prescription that I get from the local chemist.

Ozgirl76 · 26/01/2025 22:23

So this weekend my husband said “soooo I’ve noticed that you’ve lost quite a lot of weight - but you haven’t mentioned it, so…..”
So I told him about it, said I hadn’t said anything in case it didn’t work again but waxed lyrical about how easy it has been. Anyway, he was thrilled for me. He said in the past my diets have always seemed so punitive and I seem so miserable when I’m on them (I was!) and this time I just haven’t seemed any different.

So that was a nice conversation to finally have.

Ozgirl76 · 26/01/2025 22:25

He was also so lovely and said “you know obviously I love you whether you’re a bit bigger or smaller, it makes no difference but I know you want to do this for you”

Wow! What an achievement @10storeylovesong , you should be really proud. And treat yourself to a new cossie!

@Ozgirl76 - so pleased he reacted so well. It's nice to have their approval, even though you don't need it.

@Bellyblueboy - hormonal maybe?

Ozgirl76 · 27/01/2025 11:04

@10storeylovesong that’s so lovely, what a nice outcome.

Similarly, it was hot here at the weekend and DH said “shall we go to the ocean pool?” and in the past I would have thought “eugh, I hate wearing swimmers”. Anyway, I wore a bikini (yes with a rashie as well!) and swam, then walked along the beach and felt confident and happy! Amazing!

FelicityBeedle · 27/01/2025 13:09

That’s wonderful @Ozgirl75 and @10storeylovesong ! I’m very proud of you lovely internet strangers!
Speaking of partners, mine is planning to order mounjaro on Friday when he gets paid, he’s got about 35kg to lose and I hope it works for him, it would make him very happy

Floofypuppy · 27/01/2025 17:35

I’ve finally started shifting downwards again after a few weeks of plateau.

SW: 16.9
CW: 14.6

Ive gone up to 10mg but am finding myself more hungry which is odd. Just getting used to it I suppose. I even had a trifle at weekend - sweet things have been unheard of for months here.

Floofypuppy · 27/01/2025 17:39

Ooh also, I’ve started being able to walk around fast without sweating and walking up the steps at the station instead of lazily getting the lift. Moving just doesn’t feel as hard anymore!

I have really started to go to the gym a lot more and be more active.

The thought of dinner out or cocktails just doesn’t do it for me at all. My brain just thinks of the struggle afterwards or the bloated feeling.

I love eating out, foodie holidays etc but right now I’d really struggle to eat a lot over a few days.

FelicityBeedle · 29/01/2025 20:27

@boxoftoads
Strangely I don’t fancy things like I used to, but if I sit down to a big meal I can still rather stuff myself. But that’s helping me learn to be mindful I think

Floofypuppy · 30/01/2025 17:50

Did my first 10mg jab last night and I cannot eat today! I’ve had some fruit and the middle of a sandwich! And I don’t feel hungry in the slightest

Weird as last week I used 7.5mg plus topped up with some of the bonus dose to 10mg. I’m sure many of the pens are less effective than others

Cocoaone · 31/01/2025 07:04

I've given up trying to second guess this medication @Floofypuppy! Hope you're able to eat a bit more today.

Has anyone else found that their stretch marks are itchy? I have them on the lower sides of my tummy from pregnancy, and they are soooo itchy! Might be from where the skin is trying to shrink maybe!?

Pashazade · 31/01/2025 08:47

@Cocoaone oh I hadn't connected the dots of it being stretch marks that itch, but yes! Sort of upper stomach area it's most odd.
12 stone is now waving at me, I've seen 13st3 on the scales and that has suddenly made 12 stone seem a realistic possibility!
Haven't lost any cleavage though, with almost 3 stone gone, although I have gone down a back size! Well maybe a bit can fit a GG instead of an H, but not sure I'll loose from them, never have in the past!

lespameo · 31/01/2025 08:53

Also getting itchy on my stomach area, drives me crazy!

ShiftAMountain · 02/02/2025 09:51

End of week 19.

3.1lbs lost, 48.9lbs total.

Not a bad week this week. I am due to take my last dose of my 7.5mg pen this evening and will stay with 7.5mg for my next pen.

In the last week or so, I have also begun to really feel thinner/healthier and it's lovely. Just everything is easier to do. Helped a friend move last weekend and it really showed how much better I could move and keep moving all day.

Have also started to lurk on Vinted for the next size down. I don't want to spend too much on clothes as I don't think I'll be at that size for very long but I also want to be able to feel good while I move through it.
