@shift it's my first 7.5 tomorrow too! Looking forward to it :-)

Did my usual bodypump today and then body combat straight after. I am sitting on my sofa under two cats in a daze, god it was tough so much bouncing - my pelvic floor is obviously not what I thought it was.

Ever onwards.

Pashazade · 03/01/2025 10:36

I picked up a stomach bug somehow, well probably food poisoning as everyone else is fine. On the plus side 2lbs down already this week, but it means I'm starving as nothing is staying in the system! Pretty sure it's not a side effect as it started Monday night and I got stomach cramps and I didn't jab until Tuesday evening. But it's weird because the Mounjaro is slowing things down so I eat and then nothing happens for 8 hours! Then I'm up and down in the night. Hoping it goes away soon.

ShiftAMountain · 03/01/2025 14:50

End of week 15 weigh in: -2lbs (over a 2 week period), 39.5lbs total.

That is better than I hoped for over Xmas/NY so I'm made up with that. Back to (the new) normal eating now and jab this evening. Onwards and downwards!

Sorry to hear you are crook, @Pashazade. I wonder myself if stomach bugs are more likely to hang around for longer, due to the reduced digestion on MJ - meaning they get to hang around in your stomach longer? I don't know that for sure, just pondering..

OP posts:
Pashazade · 03/01/2025 16:29

Thanks @ShiftAMountain it does seem to be hanging on, I do ponder to that conclusion too!

Cocoaone · 04/01/2025 09:03

Well done @ShiftAMountain, that's a definite win over the festive period! How is 7.5 treating you?

Hope you're feeling better today @Pashazade

How are you doing after your 7.5 @Snapespeare?

@WeeklyJab - well done on 30lbs! Do you think the new symptoms are related to eating slightly differently over Xmas?

Week 14 update

SW: 196.6lb / 14st 0.6lb / 89.2kg / 32.2 BMI
CW: 166.4lb / 11st 12.4lb / 75.5kg / 27.4 BMI
GW: 147lbs / 10st 7lb / 66kg / 24 BMI

Total loss: 30.2lb / 2st 2.2lb / 13.7kg
Wk 1-4: -12.6lb
Wk 5-8: -8.8lb
Wk 9-12: -7.8lb
Wk 13: +0.8lb (Christmas)
Wk 14: -1.6lb

Last week I said I had lost 0.2lb, but I was suprised at the loss given it was Christmas and lo and behold - the next day I jumped up by a 1lb. As I took my jab that next day, a day late, I've redone my stats to reflect.
I've been on 2.5mg this week and managed to keep a calorie deficit but I've been really hungry all week and found myself mindlessly nibbling on random chocolates left over from Xmas. I've also been really thirsty.

I haven't been out walking as much as usual due to the awful weather, so I've started trying to get more steps in on the walking pad - my yearly average for 2024 was 5700 per day, but ideally I'd like to get that up to 7000 this year (desk job!)

Snapespeare · 04/01/2025 11:26

Hi @coco!

7.5, slightly queasy, have had some blueberries for breakfast, contemplating porridge. Went for a swim and then tried a new class at the gym 'dance mix' standing behind a glorious twenty something, who knew all the moves and snapped energetically into everything while I shuffled around in an uncoordinated lumber worrying about my pelvic floor. :-)

Hope you are all doing well. Anyone else on Dry January? It's a breeze this year as I have no urge for wine.

Pashazade · 04/01/2025 12:55

Thanks @Cocoaone things seem to be back to normal as I'm feeling nauseous after too much scrambled egg for lunch having not eaten breakfast! Plus I slept through thankfully, so stomach is obviously feeling full again.

ShiftAMountain · 04/01/2025 18:54

7.5mg seems like another big step up. I had a 300kcal lunch (no breakfast) and honestly felt like that was 'enough' for me today. I know it isn't so have just made myself eat a chicken salad but I am now so full I feel a bit sick. I am on my period, so that's probably not helping as it's giving me cramps.

I am also been so incredibly cold all day long.

Maybe I should have stayed on 5mg? I'll see how I go this week but might take a smaller dose next week if this doesn't improve.

I did read someone the other day advise not to chase the suppression. i.e. not to take suppression (or lack of it) as the sign to move up a dose, but instead use weight loss as the indicator. When loss stops, then it's time to move up. That resonated with me a bit and maybe I have been moving up too early because 5mg was tricky to start with too.

I wonder if I should make a decison to pause on 7.5mg for as long as the weight keeps going downwards, regardless of appetite suppression.

OP posts:
Bellyblueboy · 04/01/2025 19:39

@ShiftAMountain i have noticed suppression has reduced on 5mg - but had already ordered a 5mg pen so 5 more doses (this is one number four, I use 5 doses on each pen).

but - I want to see if I still lose weight over the next 5 weeks. I am noticing some lose skin and think I have been losing weight too fast. It has slowed down since month one - and I would be happy to lose 1lb a week now. I have 12lbs to go to goal.

ChubbyMcChubfest · 04/01/2025 20:50

I weighed in today and was a little disappointed to have 'only' lost 0.5lb when earlier in the week I had a sneaky peak and I was 2lb lighter than I am today. But I started my period overnight so that may be part of it, and if not, I just have to hope that extra 2lb comes off over the coming week.

SW: 15st 3lb
CW: 13st 6.25lb
Height: 5ft 4"
GW: <10st 7lb

@ShiftAMountain I agree that if you're losing weight and not struggling with food noise, then stick to the lowest dose you can while it's still working for you. You can always adjust your clicks on the 7.5mg pen, so you're taking a reduced dose if you feel it's not suited to you.

boxoftoads · 06/01/2025 22:52

So I might be a not good news post on this thread.

I had a lot of side effects so decided to have two weeks back at 2.5mg after being on 5mg. I’ve gained 5 pounds back over Christmas. However I eat a lot, lot less and hardly touched alcohol as it makes me feel rotten on Mounjaro.

It takes my losses back from 14 pounds at best to 8, since September.

I am back on 5mg since Friday with three weeks more to go. I’d love to move up to 7.5mg but I am very worried about the side effects as 5mg has been pretty awful.

Lots to think about over the next few weeks, especially when it comes to reordering and the cost v weight loss.

I know I am not yet at the therapeutic dose and I’m struggling to get there.

Obeseandashamed · 07/01/2025 00:45

Hello,

I've not been on this thread for a long while as life has been hectic. I started on 23rd Sept and weighed 13st 5lbs and now weigh 11st 13lbs following a small gain of 2lbs over Xmas. We were away for 2 weeks and I forgot to take my pen with me so ended up having to skip 2 doses. I did 'indulge' over Xmas but using my lifestyle changes, I managed to keep to generally healthy habits to minimise the weight gain even though I was eating more and doing a lot less than usual. I really enjoyed being able to not worry about sulphur burps the most as they are the bane of my life! 😂 It's the only thing I really dislike about MJ.

Hope you're all doing well. I've only just read the last page or two of posts and saw some amazing maintenance/losses over Xmas. Really pleased for you all.

5mg is a therapeutic dose, so you’ve been on it for some of the time even if you’re on 2.5 for a bit.

Have you tried tweaking the time of day or whether you have just eaten to see if it makes a difference to your side effects? I’m trying different things and noting side effects in my calendar to see if I can find an optimal way to take the injection.

I hope things ease up for you soon.

boxoftoads · 07/01/2025 09:58

Thank you @WeeklyJab. My worst days are day 2 & 3 so I now take my jab on Fridays as I dont work weekends. Its a very useful suggestion though, properly tracking the side effects day by day might be the answer💐

Ozgirl76 · 07/01/2025 23:27

I wouldn’t worry about whether the dose is therapeutic or not - I’ve been on 2.5 since the start and I’ve lost 11kg, have lost the food noise and have decent suppression too.

Snapespeare · 08/01/2025 07:30

Weigh day!
SW 17.8
Last week 15.5
CW 15.2.3
GW 12.7 ish
BMI 30.4
Loss 33lbs

Admittedly I weighed myself about 7 times to get that - my scales showed 15.7 when I jumped on this morning as they always have a little moment of 'fuck you, fat bitch' before complying with my will.

I like 7.5. Goodbye plateau.

Pashazade · 08/01/2025 07:50

Moved up to 5mg last night, had weird on and off stabby pains in right hand side during night, so peculiar!
SW 15st 12lb
CW 13st 11lb
Put less than half a pound on over Xmas, last two weeks have basically not shifted (all weight lost whilst being ill came right back on!) so hopefully back to steady loss this week.

TricksyLiesmith · 08/01/2025 11:54

Checking in as it has been awhile. Since I started in late September, I'm now down just over two stone! Really happy with this. It's been slow but also I think this means it's more maintainable. I'm still on 5MG no plans to go higher as it's working well. I've been weight training too and increased my muscle mass which is great.
I think my body is now used to the dosage as my side effects have significantly dropped off .

Floofypuppy · 08/01/2025 21:18

2 stone down here. I didn’t lose over Xmas but didn’t gain either - just plateaued for a few weeks which I’m happy with. On to 10mg next week

RandomID · 09/01/2025 03:18

My 12.5 arrived today, though I still have one dose of 10 left. The children have gone back to school/college, so I can go back to my usual routine, which is more calming than the mess that holidays bring. Having a pair of perpetually grazing and never out of the house teenagers under my feet has been enough to drive me to distraction. Back to swimming, napping, hot tea, and the odd trip to the municipal pool.

Letitgoagain · 09/01/2025 07:42

I have not posted for long, but read all the posts. It is amazing to watch everyone losing steadily.
I started on 20th September and am currently on a 10mg pen.
I have gone up in dose with each pen, but I think I will stick with 10mg for my next pen as I find the appetite suppression a bit too strong with sulphur burps now. I don't want to cut the dose as I felt 7.5mg was not very effective, I would be very hungry at that dose!
I have lost over 2 stone now, which I am very, very happy with. Thats two third of my way to goal. I have 1 stone and a bit to lose to reach goal.
The weight loss is now very noticeable with a lot of comments and advice to not lose any further! I just smile and don't offer any reply.
Reading all your posts it looks like most of us have lost around 2 stones irrespective of the dose. How interesting!

I wonder if the fast weight loss happens when you're not that overweight to begin with? I'm assuming here, given what's been posted, but I think most of us have started off in the obese if not morbidly obese category and have a lot more to loose. As you say 2 stone in 3 months is not fast but it seems to have evened out across time, although it's a smaller percentage of our overall weight so is less likely to show such dramatic results either.

Hi Mounjaro-twin! I have lost exact same weight as you having started on the same day!
Rather than looking at it as fast or slow, I am chuffed that it has been consistent weight loss despite a few stalls along the way. Unlike my previous weight loss attempts, I am confident this consistency is what will get me to my goal.
For most of us, we will reach the goal weight sooner or later depending on how much there is to lose.
The challenge will be keeping it off once at goal. There isn't enough information or guidelines about how we go about this...something to start thinking about now.
