Another quite cool thing I’ve found is that yesterday I was quite hungry and ate more than normal. Bigger brekky as I was hungry, bigger lunch as I was out, plus two Bendicks chocolates as they are so so delicious! Anyway, then today I was back to my normal brekky, a couple of small sandwiches for lunch and I have salmon for dinner and I’m not even that hungry for it yet. I had a fear that the suppression was running out but it seems not.

Theredjellybean · 23/12/2024 22:36

@Ozgirl76 ..that's happened to me at times.
Wake up really hungry which is so unusual for me, then eat well all day then next back to complete suppression, can not eat at all for the day
I'm heading towards two weeks since last dose, which was 2.5 mg and for last two days I've definitely eaten bigger portions, still not needing breakfast or lunch but ate Christmas dinner tonight and had a reasonable portion, had Christmas pudding and two crackers with cheese ...but oh the taste for alcohol is back!!!!!
Last four days , all four daughters and their partners are here and we have been on champagne, cocktails, wine....and I've sucked it up !
Definitely not eating as much as I previously have ..but drinking again.
I have felt pretty sick in the early hours.
I am looking forward to end of the week and jabbing again, solely to stop drinking!

Pashazade · 24/12/2024 10:25

End of my 13th week and just hit the 2 stone mark! Will be pausing for 24 hours so I can actually enjoy Xmas dinner, rather than feeling faintly ill at the sight of it!
SW 15st 12lbs
CW 13st 12lbs
GW, still not sure somewhere in the mid 11's I think.

Bellyblueboy · 24/12/2024 10:33

Congratulations @Pashazade .

goal weight is a hard one isn’t it? I have lost two stone as well and my face looks really different.

I set my goal weight at 9st 4 because that’s a bmi of 24 for me. It will be on the high side of healthy. And I keep wondering if I should go lower but I think I would really struggle to maintain a lower weight.

Pashazade · 24/12/2024 13:01

@Bellyblueboy I'm not sure if I've said previously on here but I got to 10st12lb before and that was a BMI of 25. That was also 20 years ago! I don't have any intention of aiming that low this time, it was enough of a struggle pre motherhood and peri. If I make it into the elevens and I can maintain around 11st7lbs I will be happy. Yes I will still be technically overweight but I will feel fine.

Snapespeare · 25/12/2024 09:06

Popping in to wish you all a merry xmas - weighed myself this morning, 1lb off since last weigh in about ten days ago - currently 15.6. dreams of hitting the 14s for the new year are just that - dreams! :-) looking forward to the golden last 5 and then onto 7.5. I've changed injection day to Friday night (against the advice of my Voy coach (who I have decided is primarily there to sell me drugs...) step count is up - aiming to start body combat in the new year.

A merry day to you all!

ShiftAMountain · 25/12/2024 13:17

Thanks @Snapespeare - Merry Christmas to you (and everyone here) too!

So far all is going OK here and weight seems to be holding steady.

Merry Christmas! How did everyone get on yesterday?

I had 4 quality street and a normal ish sized roast - turkey, 2 small roast potatoes, sprouts, runner beans, half a stuffing ball and a pig in blanket, with gravy. Managed half an individual sized Christmas pud with a dash of cream, which I was excited to have.
I was peckish at 6ish so ate half a cinnamon bun that was left over from breakfast. That was a mistake - made me feel really sick after. I definitely cannot eat bread now!

Very headache-y today which I assume is from the 2 Proseccos and small glass of wine

Another family roast today, but no booze and I'll be staying away from the buns!

Floofypuppy · 26/12/2024 11:10

Well I postponed injection and ate a little more yesterday - and have just been rewarded with an incredibly upset stomach!

Ozgirl76 · 26/12/2024 18:51

Bleugh, I wasn’t too bad yesterday, but today we were out and had fish and chips for lunch. I left half of it but it was so greasy I felt queasy afterwards. Then I tried some cheese and crackers for dinner and had a couple of after eights and now I feel awful. So sick and full even though I didn’t actually eat that much.
Can’t wait to go back to normal!

I’ve had bad constipation with the Mounjaro doses from 5mg upwards but I’m due to move up to 10mg soon. Does anyone know if the higher dose will cause even worse symptoms?

Cocoaone · 28/12/2024 07:23

Week 13 update

SW: 196.6lb / 14st 0.6lb / 89.2kg / 32.2 BMI
CW: 167lb / 11st 13lb / 75.8kg / 27.5 BMI
GW: 147lbs / 10st 7lb / 66kg / 24 BMI

Total loss: 29.6lb / 2st 1.6lb / 13.3kg
Wk 1-4: -12.6lb
Wk 5-8: -8.8lb
Wk 9-12: -7.8lb
Wk 13: -0.2lb

I was at 1lb loss when I weighed yesterday, but I ate very carby so the scales are reflecting that.
I have enjoyed eating more over this week without over indulging, but the food suppression was very low so I'm looking forward to upping the dose tonight and not being tempted by the remaining chocolate and biscuits.
I've managed to average around 1400-1500 calories per day which is astonishing compared to all previous Christmas weeks!

@Mydoghealsmyheart - I don't know, it seems to be different from everyone. It would make sense to me that a higher dose would slow the gastric emptying more - which is why the higher the dose, the more likely sulphur burps are - so in turn the constipation could get worse as it all slows down. But doesn't necessarily mean that will happen. Has your weight loss slowed or has food noise come back? Do you need to move up to 10mg?

@10storeylovesong Happy birthday! Sounds like you've had a lovely, normal time celebrating.

ShiftAMountain · 28/12/2024 09:56

Good to hear how everyone has been getting on over Xmas.

I ate a bit more than I thought I would/planned to and am about 0.8lbs up today but that could be some water weight also. I enjoyed myself and because I'd been tame when buying xmas food it's almost all gone now.

I took my final 5mg jab last night using a syringe, so it ended up being about 6mg and this has really kicked the suppression back into gear which is good as it allows me a few days of better eating before NYE and NYD when I'll probably relax a little bit again before going to 7.5mg on 3rd Jan.

OP posts:
Mydoghealsmyheart · 28/12/2024 10:34

Cocoaone I’m not sure if the suppression is still as strong or whether the temptation of ever present Christmas food is the problem! I think it’s a bit of both. I’m going to stay on 7.5mg for the next month rather than go up to the higher dose and try to really focus on things I should be doing more of like increase protein intake and drink a lot more water.

Mydoghealsmyheart · 28/12/2024 10:35

Is anyone, with a lot of weight to lose like me, noticing loose skin is noticeable?

KitsyWitsy · 28/12/2024 10:50

I’ve lost nearly 2.5 stone and have been taking pics every 4 weeks. Can honestly say, I looked better naked when I was still fat. I look quite saggy and deflated now in my opinion. It does suck but I need to do this for health not appearance.

Also, went to Drs yesterday and had the first normal BP reading for 5 years. I am hoping with more exercise and weight loss, I can look at reducing my meds.

I am 2 pounds away from being in the ‘overweight’ category and less than 30 bmi.

I asked the nurse to ask the Doctor if I could get Mounjaro on NHS (I am diabetic). Waiting to hear.

Cocoaone · 28/12/2024 13:05

I'm not sure if it's loose skin, it doesn't look it, but I do feel very soft and jiggly - especially my bum and thighs. Hence a commitment from Jan to start doing more weights and squats etc, in an effort to firm up a bit.

My aunt has lost about 5 stone on weight watchers, and she has quite a bit of loose skin which gets her down. She's in her early 60s, which I don't think has helped with elasticity, but she has lost slowly over the past couple of years, so it's not a result of quick loss for her. She was a size 22-24 before I think, and has just reached a size 16.

I keep reminding her of the health benefits though. It's about health rather than how you look. I tested my blood sugar Boxing Day - before MJ it was always high 5s to low 6s. On Boxing Day it was 4.5. I'm really hopeful I can keep diabetes away now (I have lots of risk factors)

Darkbutstarrynight · 28/12/2024 13:53

Have just weighed again on normal day, and am exactly the same! A loss would have been nice but actually really happy with that. 2 full meals out, Christmas lunch and all the other bits around and still had things I enjoy, just not as much of them I think. Think will keep on 7.5 as nearer 3 stone loss than 2.5 and generally works well, just need to gey back to drinking more water

Marble02031 · 28/12/2024 17:36

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. I decided to only take Christmas Eve and Christmas day without calorie counting. Christmas Eve I drank for the first time in a year and I ate loads of junk. By Christmas night I had had enough of all the cheese and chocolate. So I decided to get back to it on Boxing Day. I went to take my golden 5mg dose yesterday and the pen broke I didn't have any insulin needles so I bit the bullet and took my first ever 7.5mg. No side effects as of yet.

I also lost 2lb this week. So my total loss in 15 weeks is 35lb which I am happy with. I am almost in the 13 stone bracket and my size 16 clothes hang off me. Luckily before covid I was a size 14 so I have plenty of clothes I can now wear again! I feel so good, and 2 days of overindulging has shown me I never want to go back to my old ways.

Bellyblueboy · 28/12/2024 17:46

Oh dear!!! I didn’t think I ate much more than usual!

Mounjaro - Late September Starters, Round 2
Theredjellybean · 28/12/2024 20:39

@Bellyblueboy ...I had 2 weeks off jabs, first week no difference, didn't have any appetite or taste for alcohol... second week...hit the cocktails and champagne and ate more but not huge amounts. Barely ate a chocolate etc.
Then yesterday went mad on first binge since starting...felt disgusting and disgusted with myself and I've gained 4 lbs...
Tbf...the 4 lbs has only taken me to just at what was goal weight...but I feel dreadful guilty again, bloaty and horrible.
Hate this feeling...so jabbed this morning...made no difference...eaten dinner and some chocolate and contemplating toast
..but at least tonight no alcohol... definitely don't fancy it
Hoping tmr morning sees some feeling of control back

Ozgirl76 · 28/12/2024 21:04

I felt like suppression was wearing off for me and then I realised that I’m two days late with my jab! Being in a different country and off the normal calendar has really thrown me. Im jabbing tonight.
I still feel full after meals but I looked at a box of M&S biscuits today and next thing I know I’ve eaten three. Mindlessly. Just like old times.
This is actually really good and reinforces that I will be on the MJ for the foreseeable future!

Woke up after my dose last night and the food noise has already retreated again, thank god. Fruit for breakfast and I feel….calm again.
