@Allmyfavouritepeople that's so frustrating! I've lost 18lbs and nobody but my husband who is lovely and complimentary has said a word! I comfort myself that it is winter and I'm wearing bulky stuff that hide loss. We were debating if it's because I haven't lost much of my face yet. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ShiftAMountain · 14/11/2024 19:24

I definitely have it in mind that I will sneak the weight off over winter - coddled in big, baggy, woolly jumpers. And then emerge in spring, shed off my jumpers and everyone will be "wow!" Grin

@ShiftAMountain I have lost 18lbs and I can definitely see it in my face.

I think people are noticing now - but I have yo-yoed up and down so often they are too polite to comment. ( and to be honest I hate people commenting. In my head they are saying you used to be a lot fatter than you are now!).

I pulled on the wrong trousers this morning. Size 12. And they fit! Tailored trousers - so no give, no issues.

Seven weeks ago I was wearing the same style and brand (Boden) in a size 16!

My motivation has been slipping too. I lost weight very quickly at the beginning (20th Sept) and then it's tapered down to a more sensible amount, some weeks without losing a pound, then catching up a bit. I've gone from weighing daily to weighing weekly, which is probably better anyway! That said - I've realised that this is the point that on any traditional diet/eating plan I'd done in the past, that I'd quit. And I have no desire at all to do that now. It's bizarre how I can have these insights without feeling too attached or emotional about them - I used to feel such shame or guilt around food; now, it's just fuel, and tbh I could take it or leave it most of the time! This peace of mind is priceless, and when I get frustrated about a slow loss week, I remind myself that I am calmer, happier, more optimistic, and so much less self-critical than I've been in years. I'm so grateful for other people giving their accounts which gave me the push I needed to bet on myself, for once!

THAT SAID - I've now officially lost 20lb. It's a joy to get dressed now; I can walk distances now without getting winded; my knees don't hurt and overall I'm taking better care of myself. These are the things that spur me on when the scale reads -1lb instead of the -3 I'd love to see 😂

Carry on ladies, spring awaits, when we will all emerge from our baggy jumper hibernation full of vim and vigour and ready for action!💖

FelicityBeedle · 14/11/2024 21:19

I’ve had a crap week too, not lost anything and eaten crap but I’ve got a terrible cold and the communists are invading. The amount of honey and whisky I’ve had in hot toddies definitely hasn’t helped my calorie intake

JustWalkingTheDogs · 14/11/2024 21:23

I have exciting news, and tbh I'm so chuffed! I've hit my first stone loss! Started at 14.3 and I weighed in today at 13.3 Grin
I honestly thought I'd never lose the weight, but here I am. I'm hoping to see 12 something on the scales before Christmas.

I've been a slow loser, so this has taken me 8 weeks, but it's not felt like a diet or felt like an uphill struggle so I'll just keep on, keeping on. I've decided to stick at 5mg as I've had no side effects, low food noise and good suppression.

this is me at the moment. haha
I am currently working and its mostly outside so have been wrapped up in 2 coats , but people are starting to notice now, so thinking when i get a shift inside and be in a t shirt it will be very noticeable..
kinda not liking the notice though, would rather like you, emerge next year looking fab!

FelicityBeedle · 14/11/2024 22:09

We are all in woollen weight loss chrysalises (chrysaliii?), and Mounjaro does sound like a sort of butterfly

Ozgirl75 · 15/11/2024 04:58

I think people are scared to say that they’ve noticed weight loss! I have a lovely Chinese friend and I hadn’t seen her for a while and she immediately said “wow, I can see you have lost weight!” and when I said I had been dieting my other friend there said “I had noticed too but didn’t want to say anything” and my Chinese friend was like “why would you not comment? It’s a good thing to lose weight!”
😁

Ozgirl75 · 15/11/2024 04:59

I spoke to my woman at the weight loss clinic yesterday and asked her about what happens when I get to my target weight and she said if I want to I can stay on Mounjaro as long as I like. She’s on it and said she basically plans to be on it forever and is very comfortable with that.

Well done @JustWalkingTheDogs. A stone is amazing and definitely not slow - it's nice and sustainable.

@Ozgirl75 - I'm not sure about the culture in Oz, I assume it's similar to the uk. Most people definitely don't like commenting on weight unless you bring it up, but it seems very different amount East Asian and Eastern European cultures from the people I know, at least. They can be quite blunt and don't beat around the bush like we do, especially sound weight.

Whooshes are great @10storeylovesong!
What an amazing total loss.

I noticed today that my lower belly overhang, which I could comfortably put my finger under when standing, is no longer there. I can't put my finger under it anymore. I hope that makes sense Grin I didn't think my belly had changed much, but definitely has. And I noticed that the towel covered me much more after my shower today.

My visceral fat has reduced from 15 to 11 this year, which I'm so happy about. I have lots of risk factors for diabetes and heart disease, so losing that internal fat has got to make me much healthier.

Mine has also receded! My clothes are already looking so much better and I’ve still got 2 stone or so to go.

ShiftAMountain · 15/11/2024 08:27

Some really great NSVs here. Love the belly hang not being so, hangy. And the towel thing - I think we all know that undignified feeling of a gaping towel, just where you need the coverage the most Grin

@10storeylovesong 23lbs so far is really great - goes to show that the weight loss all seems to even out in the end, even if it happens in fits and starts.

End of week 8 weigh in here: 2.3lbs lost, 25.6lb total.

It's about time for me to order my next pen and I'm going to stick on 5mg for one more round, I think. It's still pretty effective so hopefully it will continue to be for the next few weeks. However, that means my next pen after that needs to be delivered at Xmas. To avoid postage issues, I'm going to pre order it for delivery mid Dec (and to take advantage of an Oushk discount that is running out) and have to guess a bit what dose I'll want, so I think I'll plump for 7.5mg for that one. That means I'll start the New Year with a step up, which sounds about right.

Snapespeare · 15/11/2024 09:38

I've reordered and sticking on 5 - supplier swapped to IQ doctor for best price - a bit of a faff getting them to prescribe as I haven't kept boxes with labels, but managed to get last supplier to email over the prescription.

Out to meet a friend last night, drank wine for the first time since I started (excepting a glass at the end of the first week that I couldn't finish.) Had a can of wine in a cafe and then shared a bottle in the pub. It took aaaages to drink it. I used to be able to guzzle a glass in 10 minutes - I was taking ladylike little sips. Felt v tired on train home, but no scary ill effects and no urge for more wine any time soon.

Popped into the office yesterday for the 2nd time since starting and NO-ONE even said 'you look well' (as in 'thinner') but when I got home my son said 'god! You look thin!) (relatively!) I wore the test trousers I couldn't do up when i started - & they are now baggy at waist and hip and have become too long.

Sure. It's not my code, so much as it's a general offer they have on now: £22 off with the code GIVEME22 - but it expires on 17th November. However, you just need to place the order by then, you can set a delivery date for anytime in December.

You may already know this but OUSHK10 is alwasy available and gets 10% off and they often run other/better offers, so now you're on their mailing list, you should get those too. There's also a pretty good facebook page where they post them along with live Q&A sessions.

IQ doctor package arrived just over 24h from getting order agreed..ice pack still frozen, not in a box, in an insulated polylope with thick wool insulation. 4 needles and a few antiseptic wipes. Have kept the box with prescription on it for my next hop.

Floofypuppy · 15/11/2024 13:35

7.5mg is kicking my ass. Went for a meal last night . Was really careful not to eat a lot, barely and carbs etc but when I got home I was so full I wanted to vom. And I don’t feel much better today…..so full up constantly. A bit unpleasant

ShiftAMountain · 15/11/2024 13:44

@Floofypuppy 5mg was like that for me the first week. The next week I split the dose a bit - doing 3.75mg on my normal day then topping it up with 1.25mg a few days later. That made it much easier and after a couple of weeks of that I am back to 5mg in one dose with no issue.

I have now lost 1st 4 and am 10st 13lb which is great!

Clothing is starting to feel like a challenge. I am starting to fit into size 12. I do have some clothes I. The wardrobe that fit, but lots are a bit dated now. I have a job where I need to look smart. I have a few evening events coming up,

By my goal weight I will be a size 10 - maybe 8 (if I get there!). But the transition time is hard.

i know people will suggest buying second hand. I just can’t - it’s just not for me!

are you all finding clothing becoming a challenge?
