I've got in a real pattern of eating 3 small meals and a couple of snacks if needed.

on MJ that sounds loads to me! I manage breakfast and one other small meal usually. Sometimes a Babybel or something for lunch!

I’ve gone up to 7.5ml today. No weight loss last week, in fact the scales say I’ve put on 2lb but I am ignoring their foolishness

It's deliberately why I've stayed at a low dose so I can learn how to eat without overeating and then I'm more hopeful I'll keep it off after the jabs. I'm not planning on staying on them long term so I need to reset my habits and so far so good!

I really do sympathise with you, I’m having zero effect on the 5mg dose now but keeping my fingers crossed that I see a change when I start the higher dose this week. Are you going up to the 7.5mg dose soon? Maybe you’ll also see a positive effect. In terms of the constipation, it’s horrible isn’t it and one of the things I’m worried about when going up to the next dose. I’m just trying to eat an apple, some grapes, drink enough (although that’s easier said than done) and have fruit and fibre etc for breakfast. But these steps still didn’t stop me feeling really ill with constipation last week too. I’m dreading that happening again!
Im also worrying about what will:happen once I stop the MJ at some point as I cannot afford to keep buying the injections longer term. But then I also worry about the cost to my health longer term if I stay morbidly obese. It’s all too much it feels.
I am sorry to maybe sound really negative but I just wanted to let you know that I completely get your perspective and thinking. Let’s hope we see significant change for the better in terms of weight loss and allow ourselves to develop behaviours that are more healthy. (But I know this is a hard thing to actually achieve).

I’ve just taken the 7.5mg dose this morning so I’m going to try my hardest to increase my fibre intake but I am concerned that I will still be constipated. It is a real dilemma as I want the positive effects of the higher dose as the food noise has been impossible to control but without the awful bowel consequences!!

KitsyWitsy · 12/11/2024 09:01

Into the 14s this morning! So happy!

@10storeylovesong - this may sound bonkers. But try sitting in a squat position for 5-10 minutes. Especially in the morning after having the coffee.

This is my go-to solution of it's been multiple days without going and I'm just not getting the 'urge'. 9 times out of 10 it works for me

Jabberwokie · 12/11/2024 12:50

For those suffering with constipation, I took just one tablet called Dulcolax, which sorted the problem out the next day!

And @Mydoghealsmyheart - see post above!

@Floofypuppy - that's not ideal! Going up doses fills me with dread as you just never know when the side effects are going to hit. Hope the meds work quickly to help you feel better

Cocoaone · 12/11/2024 13:09

You can rest your bum on a low stool or cushion. Its more the shape your body in that position, with your knees above your hips that helps I think. Sometimes a little bounce helps too.

Imagine you are trying to birth a baby Grin

Pashazade · 12/11/2024 13:45

The squat position is why I still have our kids small step stool in the bathroom, it's perfect for elevating your knees a bit. It's a position you're designed for, for this particular job, when it comes down to it.

Yes, don’t feel sick now but don’t want to eat. It’ll be gone by tomorrow. It’s worth a day of struggle!

Witchyandtwitchy · 12/11/2024 18:02

Anyone else getting a metallic taste in mouth?
I think I’m thirsty but drinking plenty and water tastes metallic.

Cocoaone · 13/11/2024 06:59

No metallic taste for me. Although my pesto pasta yesterday tasted really floral and grim, DH said his was fine.

I finally had my whoosh - and what a whoosh! After 10 days pretty much staying the same, I've lost 3lbs in 3 days this week so far! No change in diet or exercise but I have been peeing constantly the past couple of days, so can only assume I hold on to lots of water weight around ovulation. I'll see if it happens next month too. Or - going up to 3.75 this week has kicked my body into burning fat more efficiently again, but I doubt it's had such an effect. And I hope not, otherwise it looks like I'd never be able to come off the meds. We'll see. I'm finding it all fascinating!

Bellyblueboy · 13/11/2024 07:56

@Cocoaone I find this fascinating too! This is the third weight loss attempt I have tracked by daily weighing and I keep looking at the graphs.

Mounajaron is definitely steeper - I am losing an average of 2.6lbs a week when I used to lose just under 1lb a week. I love looking at the graphs! I have bored everyone in here with mine far too many times! But here’s the latest

Mounjaro - Late September Starters, Round 2
Pashazade · 13/11/2024 11:52

@Bellyblueboy which app is that? I’m sure you’ve probably said! Can you add retrospective stats?

Cocoaone · 13/11/2024 12:43

Similar chart for me.

I started 2024 at 15 stone and it took me 2 months to lose a stone, and then a further 2 months to lose half a stone. And then I fell off the calorie counting wagon and put on 5lbs over the summer.

This time I've lost 18lb in 6.5 weeks and don't feel like I'm constantly hungry and deprived.

Yes you can retrospectively add the data @Pashazade It's the shotsy app, only available on Apple though I think, not android

Mounjaro - Late September Starters, Round 2
Pashazade · 13/11/2024 19:10

Thanks @Cocoaone, app installed with pleasing graph line established! 🤣

Bellyblueboy · 13/11/2024 20:11

@Pashazade it experienced a worrying level of joy when I discovered I could change the colors for the Mounjaro doses😂.

I am on that app every day. I love seeing f the estimates of the dose left in my system every day (I realize in reality it vary from person to person)

peonym · 14/11/2024 12:42

Hi all

I didn't lose anything this week and can feel some motivation slipping. One more 5mg dose and then I may move to 7.5mg. Really trying very hard to stay on top of the food noise which is creeping back. What has definitely helped is ensuring I exercise 3-4 times a week.

Loss on MJ to date: 1 stone 1lb

CW. 11.0 (really wanted to see the 10 this week but not yet)
GW 9.6
Realised I'm at the half way mark! Bit disappointed as been to a big team meeting today and not one person noticed I've lost 20lbs! I'm not doing it for external validation but I don't see these people that often so was hoping for a 'you look well' comment at least.
