So I normally take my injections on a Saturday night but I couldn’t get my pen in time, so took it on Monday this week. But it was interesting because although my suppression was a little lower on Sunday and Monday, it was fine and I stuck to eating smaller portions, no snacks etc.

So I’m thinking of adding an extra day every week. I have to pay about $100 a week (about £50) so if I can stretch it out, I think I will try adding on an extra couple of days, so I take it every 9-10 days. Can anyone think of a reason NOT to do this?

Oh congratulations @FelicityBeedle - how joyful for you!

Congratulations @FelicityBeedle! How exciting 🥳

FelicityBeedle · 28/10/2024 20:27

Thank you all! I’m over the moon, it won’t be any time soon as we’re in the process of buying our first house together so money isn’t exactly abundant!

@Ozgirl75
I think the only thing to be aware of is that the providers may notice how long it’s taking you to use each one, you may have to continue to order at 4 week intervals and get a stockpile. Same problem as with the bonus dose really

Theredjellybean · 28/10/2024 20:45

@FelicityBeedle .. lovely news... congratulations.
What is the ring like ????

Bellyblueboy · 28/10/2024 20:46

Does med express notice if you order every five weeks instead of four? I had hoped lots of people were doing the five weeks and med express wouldn’t be too bothered?

Ozgirl75 · 28/10/2024 21:22

I’m not in the U.K. and my contact at the “my weight loss” clinic seems fairly relaxed - she just sends me the prescription and I then fill it at the chemist.
But if I have to stockpile a bit, that’s ok.

I’ve not had any issues doing it that way. They seem to start sending reminders when I’m in week 2 of the current pen. I just leave it until I’m approaching the bonus dose to order. I doubt they are tracking it to that degree. And they won’t know when you started as you have up to 30 days to start a pen isn’t it?

Congratulations @FelicityBeedle !! Does this count as a NSV?! 😂

Interestingly I’m on week 5 of 2.5 and feel similar - my appetite isn’t particularly suppressed but I have no desire for snacks at all, and my portion sizes are small. I might go up to 5 next time but I’m losing at a slow 1kg per week which actually feels fine.

I agree - it’s actually really lovely. I went out for lunch today and just ate what I wanted, enjoyed it, didn’t want any dessert. Then for dinner I was less hungry so had a half size portion and that’s done. It feels like I’m eating like slim people eat - just what I like, when I’m hungry and that’s it.

Hi all, it's interesting to see what everyone's experience is of the 5mg. I'm on day 3 of my 5mg pen and am feeling fine so far, no side effects to speak of.

When I collected my new pen from the clinic they took my blood pressure again - it was significantly lower this time. They also confirmed I have lost 4kg (about 9lbs) since starting the injections. A non-scale victory was getting out of the bath last night! It's usually a struggle but I found it much easier than usual.

The suppression is definitely there, I had a small salad at lunch and felt full after just a few mouthfuls and couldn't finish it. I might try a protein shake instead tomorrow and see how I get on with that. I need to start planning my meals better but just don't know what to eat as I don't fancy anything!

Quick pic for @Theredjellybean
I didn’t want a diamond and I didn’t want new, still amazed that he got it so right with no input from my friends!

That's a beautiful ring @felicity - congratulations! :-)

Felt very queasy yesterday on day 2 of 5mg, a bit better today, forcing myself to eat. Had a flatbread roll up high protein chicken thing for breakfast and about 3 inches of french stick with butter for v late lunch. Going to choke back a protein shake and an apple before bodypump, then off to see a comedian at 8. Feel a bit tired, but going to weather the 5mg instead of dialling down.
Reweighed myself this morning as stayed the same for usual weigh in - down 1lb.

ShiftAMountain · 29/10/2024 16:23

😍at @FelicityBeedle 's engagement ring. It's really beautiful!

@FelicityBeedle ..that's literally my dream ring.

Cocoaone · 29/10/2024 18:00

Beautiful ring @FelicityBeedle !

peonym · 29/10/2024 20:29

Stunning @FelicityBeedle !!!

In a new NSV I had a takeaway sitting in my deliveroo basket and ditched it in favour of a baked potato and beans.

Took my 2nd 5mg injection yesterday (a day early) and no side effects. Weighing in tomorrow and hoping for a 3lb loss this week to take me over the stone mark.

AussieMum135 · 29/10/2024 20:54

@felicitybeedle gorgeous ring!

Ooh @peonym I could just fancy a jacket and beans rn, defo going on the meal plan.

Today is the first time I’m on night shift over a weigh day so I think I’m going to go to sleep now and weigh before I go back to work tonight, because that’s kind of my morning. Probably doesn’t matter than much anyway!

peonym · 30/10/2024 09:24

Morning all!

Weigh in day for me. Happy with progress to date, although now that I'm losing weight I want to ensure I'm building up the foundations of exercise and healthy choices for when I (eventually) come off this thing.

End of week 5 weigh in:

SW (lost pre MJ): 18,7
MJ SW: 16,10
CW: 15,9
GW: 10,7

Would love to get into 14 something before Christmas. And then we're hoping sliding down in the NY...

ShiftAMountain · 30/10/2024 09:58

Morning

I'm afraid I have the dreaded constipation here - ever since my 5mg jab. Trying Movicol and then maybe a senna tonight to see if that helps Sad

Think I may have to try a lower dosage on Friday - or maybe splitting the 5mg into 2 doses a few days apart.
