Hi @ShiftAMountain sorry to hear re the constipation - have you tried psyllium husk? That always works well for me - you can get it in capsule form, or I have the powder which I add to a protein shake or yoghurt each day and it keeps things moving!

lespameo · 30/10/2024 12:58

@ShiftAMountain me too! Took 5mg on Sunday night and haven't 'been' since.
Will look into this psyllium husk as mentioned by others! Other than that, I've been fine on 5mg and was expecting hellish side effects

ShiftAMountain · 30/10/2024 14:10

I've been taking psyllium husk regularly for the last 2 weeks or so

I'm sure it's just a temporary 'blip'. Without oversharing, things are moving a little bit - just not enough considering how much is going in the other end

On the other hand, my weight hasn't changed in the last 3 days so when it finally happens, I feel a little whoosh of weight loss must be in order!

5 weeks since jab number 1 and a little celebration for me this morning - BMI is below 30! And body fat is no longer excessive.

At the start of this year my BMI was 34.8, teetering on the edge of obesity class 2, so I'm over the moon to be overweight now.

My scales also tell me muscle mass (taken with a pinch of salt as they weren't expensive scales) but according to them I've lost 3lb of muscle out of 15lbs, so 20%, which is the normal amount during weight loss. Hopefully all the protein I've been having has helped there if it's correct.

Thanks all for your tips - you may be relieved (but not as much as me) to hear that Elvis has left the building.

I think I'm going to try splitting next week's dose into 2 x 2.5mg a few days apart, to see if I can avoid the overfull feeling I had earlier in the week and the provlems I've had in the last few days.

So today I was up crazy early (thanks to before school activities) and then went to the gym and had some errands and got home at 12, really hungry. And I thought “there is no way that my normal small bowl of yogurt with fruit and seeds is going to be enough” and then I ate it and was totally full as normal. I’m constantly amazed and impressed at how well this works.

Bellyblueboy · 31/10/2024 09:48

Five weeks done - it has gone amazingly fast! On usual diets I would have probably lost about half a stone by now - it’s 15lbs on Mounjaro which is brilliant.

think I will go up to 3.75mg today not 5mg. Just to manage risk of side effects.

so glad I took the plunge and did this. I know it will slow down but I really hope I will be 10st 7 by Christmas. That’s would be a size 12 for me (just about!).

Guess who forgot to take their injection last night! I’ve been busy and I think in my head I didn’t twig ‘oh it’s Wednesday so tonight I do my injection’! Off to do it now.

So the start of week 6 and the total overall loss is 1st 6lbs. Lost 6lbs this week. But there was a period affecting that so might seem like more?

Quite happy with that. Not tried on old tighter clothes yet but can feel my jeans are looser in the thigh and waist. Will do measurements later.

Non scale win - I’ve had awful plantar fasciitis in both feet for nearly two years. I can now get out of bed without hobbling for the first 10 minutes. It’s just.. Gone! Might be a combo of weight loss and more walking but who knows.

SW 19st 4lbs
CW 17st 11lbs 8oz
GW 15st 4lbs

I am contemplating changing that goal weight to 16st but will see how I feel when I get there. bMI says I should be 12st 6lbs at my highest. That’s not happening.

TheCatterall · 31/10/2024 13:32

@Bellyblueboy congratulations and I hope the 3.75 behaves for you. I contemplated it but just decided to go for it in the end with the 5mg and been ok so far.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 31/10/2024 15:51

End of week 6 check in.
It's been a WEEK.
Stayed the same this week but I skipped a jab due to house moving and then being unwell. Finally fell victim to the vomitting people have reported after eating fatty food. Bit surprised as it was 8 days after my last jab but it's put me off even thinking about a Chinese for a good while.

Will be taking another 3.75 later today. I'm pleased that once my appetite came back after being ill I've managed to keep to my new food habits so that's something positive for when I come off the jabs.

Bellyblueboy · 31/10/2024 16:24

I got a little extra out of my bonus shot and had an upset stomach this week. First side effect ever. Although could have just been a bug! Off the Paris next week so thought I’d be cautious.

on the plus side I am wearing a pair of jeans that haven’t fit in five years🥳. I am rediscovering clothes in my wardrobe rather than buying new ones

Pashazade · 31/10/2024 16:33

NSV sort of, had to retire a dress this morning! Hoping I can adjust it, because I hadn't worn it yet this winter (and I love it!) but it was definitely too big, used to be snug across the hips and there was proper space in it!

Snoozysu · 31/10/2024 19:39

I have a strange non scale win, 2 small warts on the side of my finger which I’ve had 10 years plus , have completely gone. Anyone else?

Cocoaone · 31/10/2024 19:55

@ShiftAMountain - glad you've had some relief! I have a sluggish system so going once or twice a week is the norm for me. So far MJ hasn't made it any slower

Well done @Bellyblueboy, are you going up for a reason? I'm similar to you in terms of avg weight loss and I'm planing on staying on 2.5 for the foreseeable. I have to force myself to get to 1100/1200 calories per day still so can't fathom any higher suppression! Fab news on the jeans. I don't think I even own a pair anymore

@TheCatterall excellent news on the plantar fasciitis, it's amazing what shifting some weight can do! And bloody hell at the 6lb in a week!

@Allmyfavouritepeople - you've definitely had a week! I love Chinese food, it makes me slightly sad that I can't have a huge blow out meal now. My waistline appreciates it though.....

What a win @Pashazade. We'll all be poor soon from having to buy new clothes Grin

Bellyblueboy · 31/10/2024 21:57

I am going up because I started to feel hungry again. Will power had to come back into play and I am weak!

I think I will stick at 3.75mg for a while. The pens cost the same so I just bought the 5mg knowing a didn’t have to go full whack. I am hoping I don’t ever have to go higher than 5mg.

ShiftAMountain · 01/11/2024 09:12

End of week 6 weigh in: 4lbs lost, just under 21lbs overall.

For all my moaning about suppression and toilet trouble, the 5mg seems to have delivered on the goods Smile

What is curious to me is that the weeks I have high weight loss, I tend to have low measurement loss. And the weeks I have low weight loss tend to be better in terms of measurement loss.

Can I ask which type of syringe people are using and from where for the bonus dose?I’ve tried several local pharmacies without luck.

I bought a box of 100 ultra fine syringes from Amazon for about £20 - way more than I'll ever need! The needle is quite long and more scratchy than the current needles so i looked again.

I have ordered and received today some diabetes syringe needles from EasyMeds Pharmacy (100 for about £8) which are just like the ones that come with your pen. Search Omnican Fine Pen needles for the ones I bought.

However, I went up to 5mg with MedExpress and received my pen yesterday, only to discover they've sent me 5 needles anyway. Typical! I only got 4 with the 2.5mg pen from them.

Fabulous weight loss. Well done! I'm on about half that, and trying not to be put out that I'm not achieving bigger numbers.

I'm dreading tomorrow's weigh in as I seem to be fluctuating upwards. It might be delayed holiday weight from last week or might just be a blip. My food choices & quantities this week has been pretty good but who knows.
