First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

I am half a pound off my first stone after 2.5 weeks - it's vexing me!!

I've still not had any notable side effects but I wonder if that's because my diet / water consumption hasn't really changed much in terms of what I consume - just how much and when?

I am peeing way less. I was always someone on the look out for a toilet or running to the loo before I did anything. That's drastically reduced.

The one side effect I have I suppose - diet coke is tasteless. Might as well be drinking sparkling water (although that's for heathens). I love diet coke and have always found I could still enjoy it as part of a moderated diet - but I can't taste it :(

I have been pulling my injections back by a day a week (not recommending it, just being transparent) for suppression reasons so I've taken 3 doses already. I took my last one last Wednesday, and on the Friday I could have easily eaten a whole dominos pizza. By the Saturday, my moderate suppression kicked back in and I was back making good choices.

I'm away for work from Tuesday - Thursday. This will be the killer as work in a very sociable industry. If I do have a drink I'll be sticking to a few vodka soda limes and food wise I'll just be careful with portions.

JulesK17 · 14/10/2024 08:27

Forgot to add: does everyone stick to no drinking 30 mins before and after food? I struggle, I’m always thirsty after eating. Then I have food realising I drank water 10mins ago.

I hadn’t heard this either? I drink before, during and after.

PickleSarnie · 14/10/2024 10:04

I think the logic of not drinking with meals and restricting to half an hour before and after is something to do with not diluting your stomach acid and therefore allowing food to be broken down as efficiently as possible.

Not that I actually do that - I just drink when I'm thirsty or bored!

rockingbird · 14/10/2024 10:05

I've sat in this for a week now not pressing the pay button - anyone else had this issue?? I've put on so much weight since lockdown and the menopause has hit me hard! I'm frigging miserable and I know I'm hiding away because of my weight.. why can't I press the button and pay 🤦‍♀️

MustLoveCats · 14/10/2024 10:09

@rockingbird
I felt the same way but at soon as I pressed the pay button I felt a relief come over me.

I took the first injection Friday and have mostly fine so far

UpUpUpU · 14/10/2024 10:10

Day 5 of second 2.5mg today. I have weighed early as I am working on Wednesday for my usual weigh in. Since my last weigh in on Wednesday I am another 1.1kg down! And some of that is fat and not just water so that is good :) so 12 days in and 2.2kg down. Just done my waist/hip/stomach measurements and all are an inch smaller 😍

SW 73.5kg / 162lb
CW 71.1 kg / 156.7lb
Total lost 2.4kg / 5.3lb (12 days - 2.5mg)
Inches lost (1 all around)

GW 65kg / 140lb ish

letshavetea · 14/10/2024 10:11

I think it’s normal to hesitate a bit. But I’m so glad I took the plunge. It is expensive, but the feeling of regaining control is great.

UpUpUpU · 14/10/2024 10:20

So another big win I have had is my son. This sounds so common sense writing it down but I have been so blinded!

I, so inadvertently my son, eat a lot of chocolate. I would do a detour to the shop on the way home almost everyday to get something nice. This would usually be a large bar of chocolate for me and whatever my son wanted. This would be our pudding. This has completely stopped and we haven't had sweets or chocolate for almost 2 weeks. I realised last night after he had eaten his dinner that he didn't ask for pudding and he hasn't asked for any sweet treats at all the last week! He isnt watching me binge on sugar and so he isnt and doesn't seem in the slightest bit bothered that it is gone.

On Saturday we went for a day out shopping. This would usually involve breakfast out, a stop for coffee and cake and then a late lunch of probably Pizza Express. All we had was a late breakfast. I offered my son lunch and he said he'd have something when he got home, so that easily saved £40ish and who knows how many calories from cake and a pizza!

Additionally, the daily nip to the shop (because of course you dont just buy what you go in for) has saved me at least £50 a week, so has easily paid for the MJ without even having to budget for it!

Those are my wins today, as well as being 2.2kg lighter 😀

BeckyBloom · 14/10/2024 10:40

Hi everyone, when I said yesterday I want feeling much difference, I had explosive diarrhoea during the night and am still feeling it now. However I've lost 6lbs.

YummyCookie · 14/10/2024 11:19

Day 11 for me. Due my 3rd jab tomorrow evening, and the constipation has been replaced this morning by a very dodgy tummy. Nausea has settled down yesterday and today at least.

JulesK17 · 14/10/2024 11:19

I am using Voy, I can’t remember now if they mentioned it on the first presentation thing they did. I think from memory, it stops you from feeling full before you eat? Also delays the food moving out of your stomach quicker, again to keep you feeling fuller? Maximises the effectiveness of the medicine.
If I drank lots before I ate, I wouldn’t eat as much, and I need the nutrition.
I have my 1 on 1 tomorrow night, I will ask them and report back.

YummyCookie · 14/10/2024 11:35

Has anyone ordered their second months order from Med Express yet? I’m wondering if it’s a quicker process than the initial order.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 14/10/2024 11:41

@UpUpUpU those are great wins!

Hi! I'm on Voy too. Was it easy to book the 1to1? When I try and book it, it says no available appointments for 2 months!

Great wins 🙌🏻 and teaching your son positive relationship with food.

Nothing like that for me. If anything, my aches have lessened over the last few days.

However, pepsi max tastes weird today so I'm not impressed 😂

Yes I was the day after o took my first injection last week, I've done jab two this morning so will see if it comes back this week. It was my neck/shoulders/ribs but only last 24 hours.

I got that too, felt like my whole body was bruised!
But it went away after a few days :)

MustLoveCats · 14/10/2024 12:31

Hi,

Just out of curiosity, if someone uses your code for MedExpress, how long does it take to show up on your account?

TheOtherSide21 · 14/10/2024 13:39

YummyCookie · 14/10/2024 11:35

Yes me - I ordered as quickly as I was allowed to make sure it came on time as I was anticipating the same length of time to get assessed / prescribed / dispatched but it was reviewed, prescribed and dispatched the same day!

Currently sitting in my fridge waiting for me to catch up.

BeckyBloom · 14/10/2024 13:51

Will Imodium help the diarrhoea I'm experiencing and is it ok to take it on Mounjaro?

HansHolbein · 14/10/2024 13:57

Asda has approved! Very quick. Put request in last night at 2100 and was approved at lunchtime today. Apparently it will be ready to collect after 1500 tomorrow. I might call before I go and collect to make sure it’s there..

It was really easy. I did it all through the app. I found a programme helps me, I like to see progress on graphs and seeing pictures side by side is a confidence booster.

killamounjaro · 14/10/2024 15:03

RunSlowTalkFast · 14/10/2024 07:48

Also I'm due to take my 3rd dose on Thursday. Do you think it would be OK to delay it until Sunday?

I'm in the office on Thursday and have plans that evening and all weekend that involve long car journeys whereas Sunday evening to Wednesday evening next week I'm working from home and have no other plans so seems safer!

Given that you haven't had much suppression so far anyway, I would delay taking it in case of side effects particularly with the plans you have!
