First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

@RainbowZebraWarrior - really hope this week is better for you. Just to say that I also really upped my electrolytes and magnesium too and that helped so much with anxiety. I spoke to my prescriber and she also said to just have a little bit of sugar (like honey or some orange juice) if you get the shakes/jitters - and it's helped a lot. Everyone is so different on this, it's nice to get ideas from each other on what's working!

I think I’ve decided to delay my week 3 injection today and do it tomorrow.

Today has been the first day all week I’ve actually been able to eat without retching, the nausea has gone and I’m not feeling dizzy.

I think it might be beneficial for me to have a proper days food to fuel up a bit, then start week 3 tomorrow.

Still healthily: today had a banana for breakfast, lunch had 2 ryvita with cottage cheese and cucumber, tea is chicken, roasted veg and cous cous. So not going to feel guilty about eating.
Think I need to listen to my body on this one.

ShineyHappyPeeple · 20/10/2024 15:20

I did the same - was meant to have my third jab last night but decided to delay (mainly as I'm on holiday and I wanted to enjoy the food last night).

I've noticed my appetite has noticeably increased over the last day or so.

HansHolbein · 20/10/2024 10:52

@MissSmith80 Oh dear 😂 When mine was bad I took the tub upstairs and had one leg on the floor and one leg on the bed.. scooped some yogurt out and was enjoying the cooling feeling on my fan… husband walked in, walked straight back out. He was appalled and hasn’t eaten it since.. but it does work!

🤣🤣🤣

Bobbinsbop · 20/10/2024 15:55

Day 2 here less nausea today, which is good.
i was sick last night though I didn't eat much.
Seem to have good appetite suppression at the moment.
Today i've had half a latte and half a sandwich. I know i need to eat something but there is nothing I want. What do you all eat when you know you need to but nothing sounds good?
i need to get a good multivitamin.

I feel absolutely exhausted but I have fibromyalgia so its hard to tell if its the mj causing it.

ItsMintUpNorth · 20/10/2024 16:24

Does anyone get a really heavy feeling in their stomach at times? I've had it a few times after eating and just assumed it was due to digestion slowing but just had it start about half an hour after doing this weeks jab, It's a rather strange feeling!

Yes I wrote about it a few pages ago. It's not like a bloated after eating feeling nor constipation. It's almost like my stomach goes like steel internally. Maybe it's another way to help our bodies stop wanting food. Mines also stronger after the jab.

ItsMintUpNorth · 20/10/2024 16:33

@Mamato4R yes that's a good way to describe it! I just said to DP it's like someone has placed two bricks inside me, not painful but just uncomfortable.

ApolloandDaphne · 20/10/2024 16:36

I've had my pen in the fridge for a week and haven't started yet. I plan to start tonight but i feel a bit anxious about it. I've read the instructions so many times and it seems complicated. Please tell me to woman up and that its easy! Is there anything important i need to know.

HansHolbein · 20/10/2024 16:41

@ApolloandDaphne Right! Come on! You’re coming onboard with us! Have a nice dinner (last supper?), nice bath, and then when it’s quiet watch this video a few times and DO IT!!!!!

Please update us when you’ve done it!

You've come this far.. you've spent the money.. you want to do this..

If you follow the instructions it's very easy to do and does not hurt at all..

Go for it..

Watch a few You Tubes about how to do it and follow each step on the instruction leaflet. It's pretty easy. You could try numbing cream if you're worried about injecting yourself. I've done two jabs so far and used cream to help.

ApolloandDaphne · 20/10/2024 16:55

Thank you for the video and the pep talk. DH is cooking dinner tonight. He never cooks so this is a treat and I'm going to have a wee glass of wine. My last supper as you say. I will update when i have taken the plunge == literally.

ShrinkingMama · 20/10/2024 17:13

I had the worst upset tummy yesterday and was worried about taking the second injection yesterday evening. But I decided to go for it and today I think I'm finally feeling the suppression. I had a late breakfast of eggs and rye bread and haven't been hungry since. It's been so nice not to think of snacks the whole time.

I did start my period today too though and feel a bit weak in general somehow. Nothing unbearable though!

I sat with mine in my hand for ages. The thought of pushing it in was awful! But it really didn't hurt and I barely felt it in the end. I still felt weird the second time but much less so. Good luck, you've got this!

It's so much easier than you think it will be, I promise!

recklessgran · 20/10/2024 17:53

@ApolloandDaphne I felt like you too so decided just to do it and get it over with. I did it sitting at my desk [WFH] mid afternoon. It's not half as difficult to work out as the leaflet seems to imply. Coming from somebody who is SO useless at practical stuff that I don't even know how to put the tele on here! Good luck - you'll be fine. Oh, and it didn't hurt at all - I did it into my big fat tummy. Enjoy your wine and your last supper! .

ClosingTime93 · 20/10/2024 18:34

@ApolloandDaphne I felt similarly and when I finally did it, I had a "omg it's inside of me now and I can't reverse that" moment. But ultimately, you've bought it, it's there now, give it a go. It's not like a tattoo, it doesn't have to be forever if you don't like it.

I've read in a few posts that the initial weight loss is due to water and reduced inflammation. Can someone explain the inflammation part to me? How/why would we have experienced inflammation before? I'm mainly asking because I am always in pain, every joint hurts. And I attributed that to my excess weight plus having to carry heavy children around. But today (day 3), I'm not in pain at all. Especially my joints feel less achy. This might be fully imagined/placebo and I happily take it either way but if there is an actual explanation, that'd be pretty cool.

Evenstar · 20/10/2024 18:41

@ApolloandDaphne I did my first one after reading such a helpful post from another Mumsnetter, it made it seem so simple and it really was. I hope they don’t mind me reposting as unfortunately my screenshot doesn’t have their name. I kept it in front of me whilst I did it step by step.

@ClosingTime93 inflammation can be from all sorts of things like illnesses or injuries or reactions to substances you are allergic to. I have noticed that my ankles are less swollen, an ankle I sprained in the summer is less painful and my aches and pains from my fibromyalgia are much improved.
Mounjaro does act on blood sugar so it logically would improve inflammation from things like pre diabetes or PCOS.

Edited

Inflammation can be caused by a variety of issues such as arthritis, auto immune conditions and stress.

Here's a bit of a better explanation in the screenshot.

I have Inflammation caused by a variety of issues (immune related, arthritis and I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) I have definitely noticed an improvement in pain in just 24 hours. It was one of the deciding factors for me, as I've been on high dose, high strength pain relief and other medication for 4 years.

I have arthritis and a lot of joint pain so I'm hoping it helps with that as well as weight loss.

RunSlowTalkFast · 20/10/2024 20:03

Another delayer here!

Was meant to take my 3rd jab on Thursday but after one week of nothing then one week with a few days of diarrhoea, nausea and headaches I decided to wait until today as I'm wfh the next 3 days!

Also changed from belly to thigh. Anyone found that made any difference?
