First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

Another delayer here!

Was meant to take my 3rd jab on Thursday but after one week of nothing then one week with a few days of diarrhoea, nausea and headaches I decided to wait until today as I'm wfh the next 3 days!

Also changed from belly to thigh. Anyone found that made any difference?

I've only done thigh. I have sensory issues about my belly. I get monthly asthma injections in my thigh so I knew I was 'ok' with it as a site. Efficacy wise, I don't think it makes a difference, I think it's just down to personal preference.

ApolloandDaphne · 20/10/2024 20:14

First dose done! It was fine. Starting weight 14st 9lb. No goal weight in mind. I'll see how it goes. Thanks for the support.

Well done! It definitely seems scarier than it actually ends up being.

Maarva · 20/10/2024 20:34

SW: 13st
GW: 9st 7lb
Height 5’3”

It’s week one, day two for me now and it sounds daft but I am not sure if it’s actually suppressing my appetite or not. I am so used to ignoring those signs for so many years, gobbling food when I am not hungry, I think I’ve lost trust in how my body feels. Either that or it hasn’t kicked in?

I lost 3 stone 2 years ago but put 2 stone back on. It’s just creeping up and up.

I haven’t beens snacking, bingeing or mindlessly eating, and sticking to 1,200.

I will be happy to lose slowly so long as the scales are actually going down. It would be such a relief to feel in control after a lifetime of struggle.

EdgyPeachPoet · 20/10/2024 20:56

Lovely to hear everyone’s progress. Good luck to all!
For anyone who has ordered their first pen from Oushk pharmacy, how long did it take to approve? Thanks so much.

can I join? Day 2 for me - not noticing too much yet but only ate half my dinner which is a novel experience for me! I have 2 under 3 so trying Mounjaro to get back to myself as struggling with tiredness and motivation while balancing kids / work - felt like I needed the Mounjaro to get myself started with weight loss

This is reassuring to read. I have two small kids 3 and 5 and am on my own with them. My pen is on its way and I am so worried about being too unwell to manage them so glad to read it’s working out for you.

RhubarbandCustardYummyYummy · 20/10/2024 21:15

@SunQueen24 my side effects so far are minimal which is good. I figured carrying round the extra 10kg is so exhausting and has its own side effects (like not feeling able to take the kids swimming or run around at the trampoline park) so was worth the risk for me! Hope you don’t feel bad on it

Doghairismyglitter · 20/10/2024 21:23

@RunSlowTalkFast I’m also moving from belly to thigh tomorrow so will be interesting to see if it makes any difference symptom wise!

@SunQueen24 I’m a lone parent to 2 little ones, had worse symptoms in week 2 than week 1, but still managed to feed/look after/stick to the usual routine etc with DC. My symptoms were pretty crap but nowhere near like when you get flu or something and it’s like climbing mount Everest to even turn the oven on!

HansHolbein · 20/10/2024 21:23

@SunQueen24 I’m on W1D5 and I haven’t had any terrible side effects at all. Fingers crossed it stays that way! You could always take it in the evening just incase anything happens overnight. You could also take it when you know the next day will be quiet… no nursery or school runs etc. Good luck!

rockingbird · 20/10/2024 21:37

I'm seriously overthinking 🙈 pen arrived Friday and I still haven't done the first dose. The current debate in my head is do I do it before bed or first thing tomorrow.. goodness me, never expected it to be so hard to actually start!!

Have you only got 10kg to lose? I have about 2 stone / 12kg. Part of me thinks I’m mad for even considering it, but I’ve put on a stone in the last 7 months “dieting” and seeing a PT. I’ve realised I’ve gone another dress size up and was literally shopping for more clothes then wondered if MJ was cheaper and more sensible to give me a boost.

I’m still in two minds as to whether to use the pen when it arrives!

Thanks all for the tips.

HansHolbein · 20/10/2024 21:54

@rockingbird I did mine on Tuesday evening just in case shit went down during the night, then I could puke in private or get through minimal side effects whilst asleep. I actually had none so will be doing on a Tuesday morning going forward.

I was incredibly nervous to do it. As the needle is getting closer my head was saying no! No! No! But I did it and it was fine. You can do it!

Mummy20213x0 · 20/10/2024 22:42

W1 D4 and while I haven’t noticeable seen any huge differences, and definitely haven’t had total suppression or anything like that, there are some small things I’ve noticed. I’ve still been getting hungry and eating, sometimes smaller portions but sometimes I have my usual, not finding I’m getting fuller quicker or anything but more that I’m able to stop eating and leave food on my plate when I think I’ve had a reasonable amount, something I never could have done before. Also finding I’m going longer between meals before getting hungry. For example, we went away Friday night and I had a cooked breakfast early yesterday morning at the hotel and I wasn’t hungry until 8pm last night. I did have 2 bites of a caramel shortbread around lunch time - DH had one and it looked soooo good I wanted to try it, but I can’t actually believe I stopped at 2 bites and didn’t finish it and it didn’t bother me! We were at a market and there was a stall full of amazing donuts, muffins, cakes etc and it was such a strange feeling not craving them the moment I saw them and being able to look at them but not buy one.

I have noticed that while I can go longer without feeling hungry, when I do eventually get hungry, I get absolutely ravenous immediately. So, I’m having to remind myself to still eat 3 meals a day even if they’re smaller to avoid that.

Today I’ve noticed my appetite has come back a lot more - which is what made me realise how it had changed since injecting as I hadn’t really noticed the subtle changes until it came back. I craved biscuits all day - not sure if that’s because I’m more than half way through the week and the dose is beginning to wear off, or because it’s that time of the month and I always crave sugar this week! I did give in, but in no way ate the packet as I would have done!

Has anyone else noticed the suppression wearing off around D4? Is that usual? Of course only on D4 of 2.5 so don’t expect the full experience of it until I get to 5mg.

doodlydooo · 21/10/2024 00:04

It's been really inspiring reading about everyone's losses - well done October folks! ☺️

Week 2 Day 2 for me.
I am feeling so utterly grateful for this little injection. For the first time in as long as I remember I haven't been a slave to food. Even a normal shopping trip has been revolutionised where I am no longer wondering about where to get a nice little snack from or not getting irritable because I couldn't leave the house in good time that I would have the excuse of being able to go to a restaurant for lunch.

SW: 16st 8lb
CW: 15st 13.8lb
GW: so far it varies between 8.5st and 10st - either way, I have a lot to lose.

Really pleased with what the first week was like but prepared for it to look less impressive next week.

Water intake: I have found I'm actually so much thirstier that usual. I have been drinking a lot of water otherwise mouth gets very dry.

Calories: I have struggled to get calories in as I feel quite full and have to force myself to eat. No nausea but rather just don't feel like eating at all. Biggest fear is losing muscle and not burning fat because I am not getting calories in.

Worst side effect so far has been frequent low level headache.

Bonus side effects: feel so much more motivated to work out and walk to more places. I have PND and for the first time in a long time I've felt positive. DH and DSis both commented on how happy I look :)

IlovetoKnitandRead · 21/10/2024 01:39

Insomnia for the second night running. I am on W1 D5 now and apart from a cold this week and a few burps on Weds and Thursday I am feeling fab. Joint pain seems to have gone, appetite is suppressed and the Sunday chocolate remains uneaten ( unheard of). My bruise from the injection site is a glorious shade of purple now.
I might tell my husband next week??

ApolloandDaphne · 21/10/2024 03:03

I hadn't anticipated such a big bruise in my thigh. I have started swimming and don't want people to see the bruises so I might use my stomach next time.

recklessgran · 21/10/2024 06:03

W1D4. Morning all. Yesterday was a bit better food wise for me. I had a banana, a bowl of home made watercress soup and a prawn cocktail as my three meals. I'm still not hungry or even thinking about food in the same way. I've already realised that I've long been using food as some kind of emotional prop and I can't tell you how grateful I am not to be puntuating my day with trips to the biscuit tin. I'm writing a little journal every night when I get in to bed about my MJ day and especially about my feelings. I think getting a grip of my emotional well being is going to be key to my long term success with this.
I've also noticed that my swollen feet aren't swollen any more and for the first time in months just look like normal feet. I am aware that I've been peeing a lot more so I'm obviously getting rid of onboard excess fluid.
All of this feels like a miracle. Have a good day all.

I definitely felt the affects wearing off around day 4/5 in the first week, but not in week 2.
I'm currently on day 3 of week 3, so will see what this week brings, but so far so good.

WafflingDreamer · 21/10/2024 07:07

Third injection for me today. I messed up yesterday and had lost my suppression and was hungry so ate not what I would have considered a big dinner pre MJ but way more than I've eaten in the past 2 weeks and ny stomach is so bloated and was so uncomfortable after.

SW 303.4lbs (21st 9.4lbs, 127.6kgs BMI43.5)
CW 298.4 (21st 4.4lbs, 135.1kg, BMI 42.8)
GW ?174lbs (12st 4lb, 78.9kgs, BMI 25.0)
Wk 2 -1.2lbs (total weight loss 5lbs)

Not great especially when I feel like I'm hardly eating anything compared to before but I feel really positive on MJ and it's still 2.5lb a week which if I can keep up throughout my journey will be fab!

hopeishere · 21/10/2024 07:09

Weighted in this morning after W2 and I've lost 2lbs.

Disappointed in this but suppression was definitely less over the weekend so while I was "good" it wasn't enough.

Flumpaphone · 21/10/2024 07:15

W1 D3 everything seems to be going well and no noticeable side effects so far.

I seem to have really good suppression and I'm not bothered about food. I have noticed when I do eat, I'm eating a lot more slowly. For example, I had a couple of crumpets yesterday and normally they would be gone in 3 bites and 2 minutes flat. It took me about 10 minutes to eat one and a half.

I also had some wine last night and it took me all night to drink one and a half glasses which is unheard of for me.

I am drinking more water though, which I se to be able to drink as much as I want.

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 21/10/2024 08:21

W1D1 - jab done! I took some body measurements last night (I regretted not doing this before when I was following SW) and plan on staying off the scales, and away from the tape measure, until next Monday when I take the second jab.

It definitely felt weird in the run up to jabbing myself, but I definitely build it up in my head and it was absolutely fine!

Starting/Current weight 17'10"
GW - somewhere around 13 stone - but if I can get 1.5 stone off by beginning of Jan when I go abroad, I will be thrilled!

Mamato4R · 21/10/2024 08:43

Oh my the constant dreaming. Feel like i spent the night at the cinema watching back to back films!!! This is all so new for me I rarely dreamed prior. Not sure if due to lack of proper REM sleep or didn't remember them

Anyone else?

Doghairismyglitter · 21/10/2024 09:07

Have taken my Week 3 jab this morning before work. Injected my thigh this time to see if symptoms are better.
On the plus side, whilst I’ve only lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks, I’ve finally managed to fit into this beautiful super soft dusky pink leather skirt I bought last year and couldn’t even zip up! Don’t think it’s the weight loss that’s meant I could wear it to be honest as it’s not a small size, but the fact my bloating has gone down SO much.

I hadn't experienced this until the last 3 nights when I've had a really intense dream each night, and they've all been about horrible things so not enjoying it Sad.
