First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

Another poster mentioned this too and I also did/do the same!

Nearly every single night I’d walk up to the shop and get myself something ‘nice’ normally a big chocolate bar and a bag of crisp and share them with my husband.
kids also got a bag of sweets each. I haven’t been up once this week! My husband had a couple of times but I haven’t participated.

Morning everyone. This is my third day of using Mounjaro and I am loving it. First day I had a banging headache all day, yesterday I felt slightly nauseous but I’ve woken up today and nothing. My appetite is completely suppressed, to be honest, since the day I took it I’m struggling to consume 1000 calories, I’m having to force myself to eat, the feeling of not constantly thinking about when my next meal is or what I can put in my mouth is amazing, I feel like a new person, I could actually cry, xx hope everyone else is feeling good x

It's weird isn't it, my sister is the complete opposite me, she eats to survive and although she enjoys the taste of food, she isn't consumed by it - she will come in from work and look in the fridge to see what she can eat whereas I am constantly thinking ahead to what my next meal/snack is going to be.

We've often joked about how we cannot understand each others thought processes. I sort of can now - I am still doing my meal plans because it's the only way the family will get fed but I really don't care what I am going to eat. Strange, but a lovely, freeing, feeling.

Well the deed is done.

The injection was fine I read the instructions through about six times to get it right and then just quietly did it this morning on my own. I think I'd blown it up in my head to be a much bigger deal.

I waited until this morning as I couldn't resist a last plate full pie and chips on a Friday night Grin

Irrational me also thought of something goes wrong I'd rather be in a &e on a Saturday morning than a Friday night! Grin. Silly I know but that's the way my mind has been churning on this.

So now we wait

Well done. I've also just done mine this morning. It arrived at 10am and I dithered about thinking "shall I have something nice tonight then do the pen before bed?" In the end I just want the constant flipping questioning gone of my brain, so it's done.

@Fizzleaway we also walk up to the shop every night. Supposedly for exercise. It's only me and DD here so I'm going to suggest we just go for a walk around the village instead.

I have 4 weeks worth of food deliveries booked, so I've just been through them all and 'adjusted' deleted all the crap my baskets. They have all fallen in price by about £20 each.

IlovetoKnitandRead · 19/10/2024 12:38

I have just picked up a lovely veg box from a local farm and am excited about having a healthy diet and lifestyle. I am on day 5 and honestly have never felt this happy and positive on a diet before. I have made a coleslaw to go with my crustless quiche for lunch and I had no interest in picking at the food while I was preparing it. I am a secret snacker normally, I eat the cheese while slicing it, grab some nuts as I walk past the cupboard for example. At the moment those tendencies have gone and I have no interest in snacking. I have 7 stone to lose and already have hypertension and sleep apnoea so I feel it has got serious now and needs a serious reset!

Some really good losses so far, well done everyone.

I took my third 2.5mg dose last night. Weighed in this morning - 3lbs lost last week, and 7.8 in total so far, so 15 st 9 lbs now. Can't argue with that, though it's only put me back to exactly where I was before I went on holiday in September 😂

I am not eating enough, nor am I getting enough protein. I should be getting around 100g per day going by the 1g per kg of weight formula, but that's so hard to achieve when your overall intake of food is so low. Is everyone hitting around 1200-1500 calories ish? This is what I want to be eating as I once did the Fast800 and lost SO much hair after about three months. Really want to avoid that this time. But just added up my calories for today and it only comes to about 750. I just don't want anything else to eat. But think I'll have to start topping up. Maybe some high cal things like nuts, or apple slices with nut butter, or more olive oil on my salad? Christ. Cannot BELIEVE I am trying to find ways to get my calories up. A whole new world. Just insane really.

That sounds like a good idea. I think I’m averaging around 1000-1200 but I’m not strictly counting - it’s hard when you make you own food to really know how many calories are in it ! I lost loads of hair with fasting too (menopause didn’t help either ) so like you I’m terrified of that happening. Nuts and apple with peanut butter sound like great healthy, high protein snacks. I didn’t know about the kg to grams of protein equation so I will check that out. I ate a tiny portion of scrambled eggs and smacked salmon on wholemeal slice of toast for brunch but I wouldn’t know how many calories that is? I did my 3rd injection today and have lost another 3lbs this week - I feel this is a great loss and not too extreme so maybe my calorie deficit is about right?

Well done to everyone- the starters and those who are well on the way. Thanks for the chats and support. Was too scared to drink last night so had one gin early and nominated myself as the driver home !! Now I’ve heard some if your experiences I’ll feel less worried about having a couple 👍

HansHolbein · 18/10/2024 10:43

@PatchworkSilver Well done and welcome! I also have 7st to lose. Feels impossible of course, but we’ll get there. Make sure you drinks tons today!

Thanks... trying to drink lots of water, appetite for everything completely disappeared within about 12 hours....good luck with your 7 stone too!

memememe · 19/10/2024 13:38

I'm on week 1, day 4 and nothing really feels any different, I still have the food noise and it's taking a lot of Will power to be good, I suppose I feel fuller sooner but that's about it apart from the thirst.

Has anyone taken their doses less than 7 days apart? I'm thinking of doing it every 5 days so I can get to 5mg sooner...

Bobbinsbop · 19/10/2024 13:51

Hi can i join you all?
i took my first dose this morning. I am feeling a bit sick but that's probably to do with what i ate last night!

I have felt quite anxious about starting and side effects and also about maintaining when i get to goal weight. I feel silly for worry about maintaining right now but i struggle with anxiety. I am having therapy as well so I'm hoping that by time I get to goal I will have processed the reasons I emotionally eat and that will help.

Bee16 · 19/10/2024 13:52

Just completed my first week on mj and I've lost 4.5 pounds. Not as much as some but i'm still happy! Going to wait until this evening before having second dose.

Corliss98 · 19/10/2024 14:10

I’m W2D1. Some hunger suppression still which is good. Less noise around food but not as much as I had in week 1 but I’m in a bit of an unsettled mood so I wonder if that’s something to do with it. It’s amazing to think some people feel like this all the time and that food doesn’t really register with most people.

Snap!!! Also first week under my belt and lost 4.5, really pleased as I didn't feel hungry, hangry or deprived all week. Took my second 2.5 dose late last night.

Gr3atEscape · 19/10/2024 15:43

Week 2 day 2 over here and no suppression, if anything feeling pretty peckish. Trying to just lean on willpower and hopefully it will kick in during the week

ByGoldPoster · 19/10/2024 15:57

,

Week 2 day 1. Took my Jab first thing and for the first time since the first jab I felt peckish and food noise back. The jab has now kicked in and I feel fatigued and a bit queasy, to be honest. Fully suppressed. In fact my husband is sitting opposite eating crisps and the smell is what’s making me feel queasy .

Tohaveandtohold · 19/10/2024 15:57

Well done to everyone for starting and for all your losses so far.
I Just completed my second week of MJ. Weigh day today and I’m just happy with how it's been going. Suppression is good but I can still eat so I’m eating sensibly I'm also exercising well and not begrudgingly doing it because I know I will see results, not like before so all I have is positives so far.

SW: 87.1kg (192lbs)
CW: 81.5kg (180lbs)
GW: 60kg (132lbs)
Loss in 2 weeks is 5.6kg ( 12.3lbs)

Maybe it's all in my head but I feel lighter already 😂. I’ll be taking my 3rd dose tonight.

MustLoveCats · 19/10/2024 16:29

@Tohaveandtohold
That's a fantastic loss in 2 weeks!

MustLoveCats · 19/10/2024 16:31

Has anyone stayed on the 2.5 dose after the first 4 weeks instead of moving up and how did they get on with it?

IlovetoKnitandRead · 19/10/2024 17:08

Does anyone have a recomendation for a good clear protein powder please? Some of them are full of artificial colours and flavours and it is a bit of a minefield. Fast800 seems the most 'natural'.

I’ve just ordered another batch of 2.5 as I felt I’m having a healthy weight loss and don’t want any more side effects. If I can make it work with 2.5 - I’ll just stick with that as hopefully less intrusive for my body .

I’ve got the Fast800 red berry (not sure which berries) and it’s quite pleasant. Not up to Bottlegreen Summer berries, but fine. It has a slight taste of alkaselzer?? to it, but I will be buying more.

I'm planning to order the 5mg in my next run but only use half if I'm still getting suppression on 2.5mg then up to 3.75mg and see how it goes and so on. Eek out as much as I can on smaller doses as long as they are getting results.

recklessgran · 19/10/2024 19:12

Evening all. Week 1 Day 2 for me. I did the first jab yesterday afternoon and had complete supression within a couple of hours. It is really weird and I'm honestly shocked. I'm not hungry and have zero interest in food, not in thinking about it, not in planning it and certainly not in eating it.
Today I met DD3 for lunch and we went to Carluccio's at her request. We ordered a lasagne each and a side salad and fries to share. We would normally have no trouble making a good account of ourselves with that but I could only manage half of the lasagne, 3 skinny fries and about a quarter of the salad and I was stuffed! DD didn't say anything but I could tell she was a bit puzzled but for now only DH knows so I intend to keep it that way for the time being until I see if this is going to work out for me.
God knows what I'm going to do on Tuesday when we're meeting DD4 for a pub lunch. She's a doctor so I hope she won't cotton on as I'm pretty sure she won't approve. Bless her she's an advocate of healthy eating and lots of exercise as her solution to weight gain!
So, I reckon my calories so far today amount to roughly 600 at the most.
The only side effect I seem to have so far is insomnia. I was wide awake from 2-4am despite taking Nytol at 11.00pm I am already a long term insomniac and was hoping this wouldn't make me worse. Will see what happens tonight.

Doghairismyglitter · 19/10/2024 19:18

ADVICE PLEASE! Week 1 was kind to me both side effects and suppression wise.

Week 2 has been pretty bloody awful with side effects and suppression has gone too far, I.e barely eating at all.
it’s Week 2 Day 6 and my appetite is still non existent, feel so sick, dizzy and fatigued.

Injection day tomorrow for Week 3 - should I / can I delay it till I’m feeling better? I really don’t want the suppression to get worse than it is right now!

Pennyplant19 · 19/10/2024 19:18

Joining as just taken my first dose!
Have been overweight all of my life so really hoping this switches the 'food noise' off 🙂

Fizzleaway · 19/10/2024 19:32

If I stayed on 2.5 then I would still go up to the 5mg but just take half doses to make it last longer. I’d just keep it in the fridge and make sure the expiry date is still good I think

@Doghairismyglitter I found the second week hard with a lot of nausea, tired and cold!! Hoping week three is better!

@Gr3atEscape that's what I am planning to do as well!
