First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

Does anyone else get a weird taste in their mouth for a day or 2 after injecting?

Injected my 3rd yesterday and it's been the same every week, weird taste and dry mouth for a few days until it starts wearing off again!

DandelionPockets · 17/10/2024 13:11

@PepsiMaxandPringleStacks yep I get this. Just like a constant aftertaste of something I can't quite put my finger on.

Doghairismyglitter · 17/10/2024 13:40

@Flumpaphone i think everyone is different in terms of food. I managed on week 1 to eat healthily and regularly, however now I’m week 2 day 5 and I really have been hugely under (probably unsafe) amount of calories this week. Today I’ve had a protein shake. Even the thought of putting food in my mouth makes me gag. I see people writing they’ve managed soup or oats etc and can’t even imagine being able to eat right now. Suppression has gone too far the other way for me this week!

and yes - hugely increased thirst and drinking loads of water, my skin is clearer from it though which is nice.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 17/10/2024 13:47

Had my second jab yesterday, zero suppression for me, whereas last week I felt it was good, makes me wonder if it was more a placebo effect. I’m patiently waiting for it to get properly into my system, I want the next two weeks to fly by so I can move up a dose! I’m an impatient person 😂

welcome @Flumpaphone! I drink lots of water anyway, but since starting MJ I’m drinking even more, I sit at a desk all day so have a giant water bottle to swig constantly from, so that helps, otherwise I’m too busy sometimes to go and get a glass of water.
my usual Diet Pepsi and sprite now taste overly sweet, I’ve resorted to sugar free Ribena and sparkling water now.

Dee03 · 17/10/2024 14:26

Well after doing the third injection in my thigh to see if it made any difference on Tuesday I woke up in the afternoon (I work nights) with a dodgy tummy that carried on grumbling all evening...then at work when I was serving the fried breakfast on wed morning (I work on the wards nhs) I felt a bit queasy smelling the hot food.... but since then I've been fine...
Still have constant food noise though and I know I don't drink enough Confused

Flumpaphone · 17/10/2024 15:55

Thanks everyone, I'm going to stick around for the hand holding if that's ok.

@Mummy20213x0 yes I have some of that, there is a part of me thinking "how has it come to this? How have you failed so badly in managing your weight that you need a drug?" and I did have a lot of "what have I done?" thoughts after pressing the order button yesterday.

One final question for now. Does anyone have any thoughts on the best time of day to inject? (It may say on the instructions, I haven't got them yet, apologies if it does)

MissSmith80 · 17/10/2024 16:12

Hi all W1 D2 for me.

I slept really badly last night so feeling pretty tired today. Food wise I wouldn't describe it as suppression but I am comfortable eating 3 smallish meals, no snacks and only water/squash - don't fancy my usual fizzy zero drinks. There's no hunger (my stomach would usually be grumbling by now as I've been very sensible for 3 days and upped my exercise) but not full feeling either - I guess 'stable' is the word I'd use. But that's a great place to be.

Still not sure how much of that is MJ and how much is placebo/mindset related because I'm committed to doing this - I'm not paying this amount to not lose some weight. I guess time will tell.

Great to be here. Welcome to the new joiners and looking forward to being on this journey with you all x

I’ve chosen to do it in the evenings. I have a friend who takes it and she does it before bed so she sleeps off any worse side effects (if any). I did mine about 7:30pm, before tea, so I had a good few hours before bed to assess any side effects if they happened - they didn’t really and much the same today. I also picked a day of the week where I know the next day I mainly work from home, I’ve got any regular commitments outside of work over with for the week etc so if I have a day of feeling a bit rubbish the next day I don’t need to worry. You can choose which day and time to inject but you should try to keep it the same every week.

I have beaten myself up about the weight gain before taking the plunge and ordering the injection, but the rational part of my brain also said:

When you try to lose weight on willpower alone, you feel discomfort from hunger that makes you feel uncomfortable, miserable and grumpy.

When you cut your hand open and it needed stitches, the nurse gave you an injection to numb the pain of the stitches that you needed to have to make it more comfortable. You could have refused and taken the pain, but you don’t get a medal for bravery and why feel pain and discomfort when you don’t need to.

When you drive your car, you don’t need to use ‘driver assist technology’ you can drive perfectly well without it, but you leave it switched on to help make your journey easier.

If there is something that could make loosing weight easier and more comfortable why wouldn’t you try it? If you don’t like it you can always stop… but why not give it a go?

YummyCookie · 17/10/2024 17:36

I had the 3rd dose 2 days ago and I’ve been hungry a couple of times today 😫 the first 2 doses really suppressed any appetite so it’s different. It’s made my decision to order the 5mg though easier. Has anyone switched suppliers when moving up to the next dose?

This was my experience. Lasted about 3 days then hunger crept in again. On day 7 today and have normal hunger. Will take my next jab tomorrow

ohforfoxs · 17/10/2024 17:52

Coming to the office week one and it's been a positive experience so far. Took some sennacot for constipation, but have had a much clearer head, feel more energised and definitely happy I took the plunge.

ohforfoxs · 17/10/2024 17:53

Using Nutracheck for calorie counting (1200 a day). Not feeling like it's a punishment, eating better and sleeping well.

Bassetthounddog · 17/10/2024 18:51

Hi. On my first pen 2.5mg
Dose 3 done Tuesday this week, I’m kind of disappointed at my weight check- hardly lost any this week, and worried I may have messed up the injection week. Compared to week 1 , week 2 I had less appetite suppression so ate more normally. Going to keep focused on a healthy diet and exercise this week and see how I go. I had heard it sort of ‘wears off’ and am starting to think about the 5mg plan. Total loss in 15 days is 7.8kg

Sorry @Bassetthounddog is 7.8kgs a typo, as that's more than a stone, in just over 2 weeks?

7.8kg in 2 weeks is a huge loss. I have my 2 week weigh in tomorrow and will likely be on around 4k.

I am the same in that I had really good suppression with the 1st and 2nd jab, but I’m hungry again with the 3rd. I have just ordered the 5mg.

HansHolbein · 17/10/2024 20:00

Thinking ahead to my next order.. should I reorder once I have injected my 3rd dose?

I am going to order as soon as I can after the delays I had getting started. Just not sure whether to change provider. Currently with medexpress

MustLoveCats · 17/10/2024 20:35

@ohforfoxs
Has the sennocot helped with the constipation and is it something you can buy over the counter

Mounjarjar · 17/10/2024 21:29

Day one over and I feel less hungry I think? By good god, I am sooooooo thirsty! Is this usual. Also, struggling to sleep (3 hours last night) hope that wears off!

MustLoveCats · 17/10/2024 21:33

@Mounjarjar
I am also soo thirsty all the time and have been drinking so much more water this week than I ever had.

Mamato4R · 17/10/2024 21:36

Really thirsty here too. Drinking litres and litres. My skin is looking so much healthier already. I wake really dehydrated though.

letshavetea · 17/10/2024 21:36

I’ve been on it for almost three weeks (fourth dose on Sunday). I am always thirsty and drinking water. Have also struggled with sleep since starting. I wasn’t a great sleeper anyway, but it’s worse now. I still think it’s absolutely worth it!

I feel much the same. Had 3rd dose yesterday and nowhere near the suppression or side effects. Before this I was thinking I’d stay on 2.5 for another month but now not so sure. I’ll see how the next few days go. Are you going to try to get the bonus dose?

rockingbird · 17/10/2024 21:38

Mine is arriving tomorrow apparently 🙈 I need to get my head in the game now I've committed to this. I have quite serious anxiety about it all and the possible side effects.
