First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

So I bit the bullet and ordered Monday.. using someone's code on the thread. This morning I've had an email to say they are experiencing delays ordering due to an increased demand. 😫 taken my money but that's about it.!

Hi, I had this for my first order. Once the photos were approved it came on next day delivery! Think I waited for 6 days from ordering which included the weekend, so not too bad. I’ve recently ordered my 5mg and that was dispatched same day and arrived next day

ApolloandDaphne · 16/10/2024 11:59

I applied to Medexpress on Monday and was accepted quickly. My first pen has just arrived so fairly quick I think.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 16/10/2024 12:00

@HansHolbein thanks, actually I feel great! Feel quite positive about everything 😀
@Witchlite its a funny old world, your stats that you are so embarrassed about are my goals! Good luck on your journey.

Amazing to hear you aren't having side effects. I'm sorry but I don't have an answer to your HRT question, but wanted to ask if you would you mind sharing what you eat on an average day? Just curious because I am on day 4 of week 1 and I feel terrified of eating anything that might not be healthy in case I get a bad side effect. For example, I really wanted a little madeleine today but I resisted because I didn't want to be sick or get an upset stomach.

Hi @doodlydooo sure - I have wondered if the lack of side effects is down to what I eat or the supplements I take or if I'm just very lucky? Anyway, to take yesterday as an example I ate:

Breakfast: Small bowl of Alpen sugar-free muesli with some Greek yoghurt and half a small tin of sliced peaches.

Lunch: 2 x Ryvitas with a tin of sardines

Dinner: Bowl of soup with 3 x oat biscuits. The soup is delicious if I do say so myself! I fill a baking sheet with chopped carrot, celery, leek and an apple. Drizzle olive oil over then roast for 20-25 mins. Mash it up then add to a saucespan of stock, with lots of ginger and garlic. Sprinkle on some grated cheese. It's v filling and warming.

The day before I had lentil pasta with red pesto, spinach and leek. Stirred in a big dollop of cottage cheese. The lentil pasta is much higher in protein than normal pasta.

I find it hard to eat enough protein so some days I swap out breakfast for a Purition shake. Only recently discovered these (a rec from someone here) and they're one of the very few that don't contain sugar or sweeteners.

About a year ago I gave up sugar. I was totally addicted and the amount I could eat was off the scale. So I think, going into taking MJ, that has been an advantage as I haven't eaten anything like cake or chocolate or ice-cream etc which may well have given me a bad reaction. The only thing I've eaten where I felt a tiny bit ill after was a cheese straw from the bakery. It was quite greasy and I had a bit of indigestion after. But only really briefly.

Last night I went out for a curry - had poppadoms, tandoori salmon and tarka daal. Not a huge portion. Feel fine today.

I haven't had anything fried, battered or overly processed - not because I'm a saint but I worry that's what would set the side effects off. So I'm just avoiding at the moment.

I take a probiotic and a psyllium husk capsule daily, as well as a multivitamin and omega 3. Plus collagen powder in my coffee. I'm planning on staying on the 2.5mg while it's working, but if the weight loss drops below 1.5-2lbs per week I'll go up.

I'm crap at drinking water - I just forget. Need to work on that.

What sort of stuff are you eating?

I didnt think of this!! Mentioned that I have terrible bloating, to the point of feeling really uncomfortable as if it's maybe trapped wind.... I started MJ while using my Utrogestan, took the last 2 last night. I weigh daily and still lost a bit each morning (first week). But my bloat belly could really be anything....New foods, MJ, Utrogestan (although have been on HRT for 3 months, haven't had this before) or maybe I'm too full and have just forgotten what it feels like after years of Slimming World......😂

Will be interesting to compare what you lose while on it vs not on it. I reckon my loss will be a lot less next week...

Witchlite · 16/10/2024 12:13

Thanks (and sorry if I’ve upset you) @Iwouldratherbesinging - my family are all tall and slim - and eat what they wish. I’m very short and resemble a weeble. Do you remember the weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down advert in the 1980s? I think it’s the comparison rather than anything else.

In a weight loss thread I’m one of a crowd and don’t stand out. In my family and friends I do. Nobody is mean, but it is a thing and not a good one.

I haven’t told anyone (other than GP) that I’m taking Mounjaro - it’s in the fridge in a tomato paste box - I stole that idea from an earlier thread…

Aww, not upset at all 😁it’s funny how our goals are all so different, I think I was at the weight you are now when I first fell pregnant 36 years ago, it feels unachievable at the moment. Yup, I remember the weebles!
My Hubby knows but no one else - I’m also in a family of slim people, not tall though!

If you used Medical Express, I got that too - but it was all processed within 2 hours and arrived the next day (yesterday).

3rd injection today. Weigh in 🙌🏻

MissSmith80 · 16/10/2024 12:38

W1 D1 for me too.

Slightly fuzzy head this morning and feeling a little tired but we have bugs in our home so I was woken a few times by child/husband.

No real hunger either but evening times are when I eat most of may daily calories so we will see what happens later.

Have done a YouTube exercise video too to try and kickstart things - it reminded me that I really do enjoy exercise so I've just got to build it into my routine.

I'm finding the consistent weight loss reports on here really inspiring so thank you everyone for sharing.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 16/10/2024 12:40

That’s amazing @PepsiMaxandPringleStacks well done you!

hopeishere · 16/10/2024 13:33

Well done @PepsiMaxandPringleStacks I really hope I go under the 14 stone soon!

Mamato4R · 16/10/2024 13:54

I also had a little wait with Medexpress. They initially wanted more photos as they wasn't sure about my bmi 🫣 but I sent them new ones straight away.
I ordered the Friday and it came the following Wednesday. Really hoping there isn't a massive delay. I'm on week 2 now. Suppression is brilliant. I have pcos and have had 4 gd babies. Hba1c was 42 recently so needed to make the change.

I can't believe I can go shopping or in cafes etc and just have no interest other than to get what I went for the family dinner etc.

HansHolbein · 16/10/2024 13:55

@Mamato4R I also have PCOS so this is really encouraging. Have you noticed any reduction in your symptoms yet?

Mamato4R · 16/10/2024 14:01

I've noticed a reduction in everything to be honest. From feeling really calm and chill all the time even at times that are really busy like dinner times (I have 4 kids and their gfs/friends around basically every night too)
Not wanting any alcohol or bad food. Actually dreaming again so im not sure if that means I'm having proper REM sleep. No hot sweats at night.

Im not constipated as going every day but my tummy feels sort of hard and heavy that's probably the worst thing I have at the moment.

Im drinking so much fluids though and taking vitamins.

I genuinely can't rate it more at the moment.

rockingbird · 16/10/2024 14:11

Had another email 😵‍💫 referred to prescriber .. wasn't expecting the stalling.

RunSlowTalkFast · 16/10/2024 11:20

Week 1 - no suppression, no bad side effects.

Week 2 (day 6 now) - no suppression but diarrhoea, headaches and nausea!!

What fun! Meant to be taking my 3rd jab tomorrow but I'm a bit scared!

Oh no you poor thing, I’ve just taken my 3rd jab and I’ve had been scared too if I felt like you. Not sure I’d continue to be honest! Hoping it gets better for you.

food Noise is coming back a bit today. I don’t work Wednesday and Iv been doing housework and painted a bedroom to keep me busy! Buttttt…. I have looked in the fridge and cupboard a few times for no reason.
Still on plan! But I will 100% be injecting a whole day earlier tomorrow instead of Friday

OP posts:
HansHolbein · 16/10/2024 14:43

@Fizzleaway Thinking of you! I’ve also kept busy today just because I didn’t know how I was going to feel. What is your plan for the rest of the day? I wouldn’t have the patience to paint a bedroom.. especially around the frames!

I was wondering how you're getting on.... sounds rubbish for you I'm so sorry Sad

I have read (probably on here or one of the FB groups) that the 2.5 doses are just getting your body used to the drug, and any suppression is a bonus, hopefully that's the case with you and stepping up to 5 will see positive results. Who did you order through? Have you consulted with them at all to see what they day?

Must just feel so shit to see others getting results and appetite suppression immediately. I feel that way about the side effects, I've never felt so awful since I had Covid the first time! Yet most people seem to have nothing more than a thirst and feel a bit cold!

Solidarity and hope you take your 3rd jab, I really considered not taking my second this morning but but the bullet and did it...

Fizzleaway · 16/10/2024 14:53

@HansHolbein it’s my sons room and the box room so it hasn’t taken long to paint. 2 coats done but it was only to freshen it up.

I wanted to take the dog on a long walk today but the weather has been awful here.

No idea how I will keep busy for the rest of the day, kids will be home soon and they will occupy me a bit.

Im a bored too, it’s lovely having every Wednesday off but sometimes I’m a bit bored when everyone else is working or busy!

Week 2, Day 4 - insomnia has hit. Couldn’t sleep till 3.20am last night then was awake at 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep. I feel like death today. And still have ZERO appetite, to the point where I gagged and retched on a protein shake.

I'm going to delay it until Sunday. Partly because I'm pretty much out of the house from 8am to 8pm tomorrow and have some longish journeys at the weekend.

But also, going forward it makes more sense to do jabs on Sundays as I don't usually do much sunday afternoon/evening and I wfh mon-wed so it would give me time to recover! Also going to be very careful what I eat from Sat!

Can't believe I was still hungry in between bouts of diarrhoea and nausea, such a pig 😄🤦🏻‍♀️

Mummy20213x0 · 16/10/2024 15:14

I’m due to start mine tonight after it’s sat in the fridge since last Monday! I was so nervous about starting it I put it off last week, and then I caught a cough/cold so thought it better to wait in case I got side effects on top. Wednesdays are the best day for me to take it each week so the plan is to take it tonight once I get home from my gym class, but I am so worried about side effects. Don’t mind any mild ones but I’m already on a sickness absence trigger at work so really can’t be too unwell to work on it! I’m really looking forward to the food noise calming down. I eat relatively healthily for my main meals during the week - although I do eat big portions - things like fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, soup or wrap for lunch and chicken/salmon and veg for tea. I also do bootcamp twice a week, Pilates once a week and run at least once (try to do twice but not always able to fit it in). But goodness can I scoff a biscuit and it feels like I am constantly thinking about food and my next snack and the cravings are so hard to resist! And on weekends my healthy eating goes out the window. I need the cravings and food noise to calm down so I can focus on a healthy lifestyle. I’ve committed to 6 months max of mounjaro, can’t afford any more than that unfortunately. I’m hoping this teaches me healthy habits and the initial weight loss will give me the push and motivation to continue without MJ.
