First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

I had to provide photos (horrendous) and photo ID as well as my weight, however my starting weight appears low, but as I am only 5ft tall I still had a BMI of over 30… as the minimum healthy weight for me is less than 7 stone, which was possibly my weight before starting secondary school it’s important to remember that BMI and weight is very height dependent, so affects the weight you are able to get a prescription for MJ.

I think you can have it prescribed at a BMI of 27 if you also have an underlying condition.

I also had to give my GP address and contact details as they also inform your GP of your medication prescription.

I don’t think you can easily cheat as when you upload a photo from your phone to the website they can geolocate where and when the photo was taken and check to see if it has been edited.

That is really scary I don’t believe I knowingly gave permission for that - what software do they use ?

SilenceInside · 15/10/2024 19:27

@Bakedpumpkin it's not software. Most smartphones with cameras will include geographical metadata with any photographs by default, unless you turn that off. For example, on an iPhone, if you press the info icon under any photo in your camera roll you can see the additional meta data that's stored in the image file. So location, the device you took the image with, date, time, etc. None of that is new, it's been part of image formats for a long time now.

You can delete the metadata from any individual photo before sharing it.

When you upload photos from your phone it automatically sends the geolocation tag, date and time data that is embedded into the photo.

I understand that this is one of the many ways that insurance companies are able to detect fraud, and in my day job knowing the time and location of films / photos is helpful when assessing or modelling a problem.

If you have an iPhone and double tap a photo you can see the data attached to the photo.

As the company I used also requires GP details, and photo ID and a delivery address it can all be cross referenced (I used my driving licence). I figured this is how they ensure that the information submitted is honest and accurate.

You can turn this off if you want, see the link below:

How did everyone find their second jab? Got mine coming up in a couple of days and feeling a bit nervous!

Second jab yesterday morning and I've bruised this time but wondering if that's because I just went straight for it and shoved it in whereas last week I was going slow thinking it was going to hurt!

Side effects wise better than jab 1 as I've had nothing so far, thought I had the start of constipation last night but sorted itself out this morning.

Bee16 · 15/10/2024 20:00

I had my first jab on Saturday and so far so good. Zero side effects apart from tiredness, but I've come down with a terrible cold so not sure what's to blame. I've been having 100-1200 calories a day. It's so nice not feeling hungry and thinking about food all the time. Really hoping this will reset my relationship with food and get me used to normal portions.

Nattyl78 · 15/10/2024 20:03

Hi All, had my first dose on Saturday evening and so far no food suppression at all. I have been cold every day since taking and have been very tired and had really bad brain fog today! Also feeling a bit irritable, probably because of the tiredness. Anyone else had the brain fog? Xx

Homeiswherethedogis · 15/10/2024 20:09

Day 3 for me, feeling slightly less willpower and have eaten more. No side effects really but do understand the comments of being detached/despondent.

I took mine yesterday and have felt very sick and cold last night and today. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Doghairismyglitter · 15/10/2024 20:16

@ItsMintUpNorth going back a couple of pages but loving the Lipsy dress! It’s been years since I’ve shown my knees 😂 Typically last month I donated 4 bin bags of clothes that don’t fit me anymore (after keeping for years…)

@Gr3atEscape & @Ti2024 I’m now on day 3 of week 2 & finally this evening managed to eat something (first thing since Sunday morning) It’s honestly really scared me about my third jab to be honest and I don’t think it’s been healthy for me this week, with vomiting up nothing and having the shakes.

@EVK I am exactly the same as you, both on jab day and week and also that I am already looking at ways to come off MJ. Granted this week it’s made me so ill it’s put me off, but I also miss actually having a bit of an appetite and not enjoying forcing myself to eat. I don’t think long term the lack of calories and food would probably be good for my health or blood sugars.
I am trying to ingrain and learn new habits now to continue forward without MJ

I had my second jab on Saturday and I’ve felt really cold, more than usual but that’s all the side effects which I’m happy with so long as I don’t experience anything horrendous.

Everything has so many calories in! I am waiting my second dose to come and have tracked today and with making an effort I am 450cals over 😫

What have you eaten? Perhaps people on here can suggest swaps for certain items that might save you some calories.

Fizzleaway · 15/10/2024 20:50

Food today…

cereal bar for breakfast
2 egg, ham & cheese bagel thin at lunch
1 finger twirl
few cups of tea
1 bite of chicken and 1 new potato when I was dishing the kids dinner up.

Not hungry so probably won’t have anything else.

I might make overnight oats for tomorrow.

I cracked and had 3 biscuits and some flapjack 😱 other than that I had porridge soup and beef curry.

My best friend is a PT and swears that it’s easier to maintain than loose. Hopefully MJ can help me get to that point.

letshavetea · 15/10/2024 20:57

You could replace the cereal bar as you said with overnight oats with fresh or frozen fruit
how about the protein items at lunch with a mixed salad and no bread
a piece of fruit or a boiled egg and tomatoes or hummus and carrot sticks for a snack
grilled chicken with lots of fresh veggies for dinner

That can't have been more than about 800 calories though so how are you 450 over?

HansHolbein · 15/10/2024 21:08

Ok, it’s in!

I was so nervous. My hand was sweating! Didn’t feel a thing though and it was very easy to do.

I thought it would be better to do it before bed rather than in the morning and risk feeling like shit.

Hi, new to the thread. I’m on my second week of MJ, 2 days into second jab and I’m so pleased with how I’ve been feeling as had dreadful experience on saxenda earlier this year. Saxenda gave me fatigue, nausea, constipation and fainted a couple of times going to the loo at nighttime. MJ has been great, feel I have good appetite suppression and so far none of the side effects, other than a dry mouth. I also feel quite chilled out, which is nice as I’m generally a bit of an anxious person. Lost 6lbs so far, so hoping to continue the progress. The only thing is my scales had said my muscle mass had slightly dropped, I’ve been going to the gym twice a week so I think I need to up the protein, which might be tricky as I don’t really feel like eating much at all. Does anyone taken protein powders / shakes? Can they recommend any?

NearlyNewHip · 15/10/2024 21:32

Hi All,
First jab on Friday night and very mild headache and low level nausea but yesterday and today the bloating, wind and trapped wind are awful.....feel like I'd deflate if you pricked me. Not sure if it's MJ or change in diet. Have upped protein and fibre and drinking loads. Have been sipping peppermint tea, had some Rennie Deflatine. May have to fast tomorrow to see if I can get rid as it feels so uncomfortable.

Doghairismyglitter · 15/10/2024 21:41

Thank you @HansHolbein and good luck on your journey. My week one was pretty fab so hopefully will be the same for you!
@Ohdear7 the lack of anxiety is by far my biggest positive of the injections so far, I’ve had counselling, CBT and tried other things after a very traumatic event and nothing has worked, since taking MJ I feel calm, so much less stressed and don’t have the pounding heart, sweaty palms, panic attacks and have had NO nightmares. It’s felt like a mental health holiday after years of it ruling my life.

HansHolbein · 15/10/2024 21:49

@Doghairismyglitter Thank you for the positive words! Interesting that you say that about anxiety.

I am riddled with it. I totally understand how much those symptoms impact your life and I am so happy for you that things are improving. A mental health holiday; I like the sound of that!

Cosyslippers2019 · 15/10/2024 22:43

Jab #2 for me tonight, tbh I have not noticed any difference in appetite yet but reading some great results from the early October starters is helping me stay positive.
