First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

@Bakedpumpkin yes I think it’s a good idea to track everything, I think I will start doing that!

is anyone else on Voy and will you continue for your second pen? I am not really seeing any benefit of the extras so thinking of switching

@Cheris Those people (and I’m one of them) have other weight related conditions. Please don’t say this on here this is meant to be a supportive community and the last thing that’s needed is judgement from fellow thread members.

OKay, That's literally the very last thing in the world I'd ever do. I was referring to myself after a decade of low self esteem. I won't be back - I feel WAY too uncomfortable to stay here now. I'll delete this from my watched threads and go elsewhere on the internet.

Good luck with your journeys everyone.

On my other thread, someone just explained to me that my BMI isn't high enough for MJ.I've seen other people with similar stats to me on these threads - are people tweaking the numbers to get it?

No they would have started much heavier and in the correct category to be prescribed. Once prescribed you can keep taking ro about 23 bmi. You can’t get it if you’re not in the right category. No reputable supplier will prescribe,

Monstermunch10 · 15/10/2024 14:31

I didn't understand that either
I thought when it said you need a BMI of 30 to get it ...I thought when (IF) I manage to get to a BMI of 30 ,I would have to stop taking it ..so when i looked up the weight a bmi of 30 for me would be ,that was quite high i thought..
But if they let me keep taking it untill a BMI of 24 ,I think that would be better .but that is such a long way of for me anyway 😞

Dee03 · 15/10/2024 14:42

@NearlyAutumnNow Will do.

I'm usually a lurker here, but I honestly didn't think you said anything wrong.

I don't know why you were slapped down for calling yourself fat - I've seen others do it. You didn't mention anyone apart from yourself, so no idea why you got told off.

Sorry you felt uncomfortable staying - good luck with whatever you decide.

I applied yesterday to Medexpress thinking it would take ages and my first pen arrives today! When would be best to start? I was thinking Saturday or Sunday night. I need to complete an essay this week and won't be able to deal with side effects. What side effects did people have after their first dose?

So while a few have said they didn't have any side effects, I really did feel like I'd be run over. I'm due to do my second jab tomorrow and am contemplating delaying until Saturday night or Sunday morning as the end of the week is my busiest time at work and I can't face another like last week. If this is essay is vvv important I would consider delaying...just in case.

Btw have you seen the Bernini Sculpture in your name?? Beautiful 🤩

HansHolbein · 15/10/2024 14:01

I’m pretty sure most prescribers require photographic evidence of weight, so in theory that shouldn’t be happening. There are always loopholes to everything I guess..

I had to provide photos (horrendous) and photo ID as well as my weight, however my starting weight appears low, but as I am only 5ft tall I still had a BMI of over 30… as the minimum healthy weight for me is less than 7 stone, which was possibly my weight before starting secondary school it’s important to remember that BMI and weight is very height dependent, so affects the weight you are able to get a prescription for MJ.

I think you can have it prescribed at a BMI of 27 if you also have an underlying condition.

I also had to give my GP address and contact details as they also inform your GP of your medication prescription.

I don’t think you can easily cheat as when you upload a photo from your phone to the website they can geolocate where and when the photo was taken and check to see if it has been edited.

I have just injected my first 2.5mg. I haven't told my husband yet. It took a few days for him to understand that it wasn't all a con, so I went ahead and ordered. It arrived today while we were away and unfortunately we have had to endure all the media debates on the radio while driving home today. He now thinks it is a lazy way to lose weight!!! Thank you Talk Radio !

JustMoved123 · 15/10/2024 16:55

Hi. Can I join please? I’ve had the medication in the fridge for weeks and been too worried to try it! Anyhow did first injection on Sunday night and so far so good. I have been able to resist food and eat less bit not sure what’s in my head and what’s real!
SW 86kg
GW 65kg
Christmas goal 75kg

coastergirl · 15/10/2024 16:56

Hi, can I join please? I started last Wednesday evening and it was amazing at first. I found it very easy to stick to really healthy foods and small amounts. Yesterday and today though, it's worn off and I'm starving! I've seen about it building up in your system, so I'm hopeful this won't happen in future weeks, but for this week I'm struggling I was also hoping it would stop me drinking (I really struggle with this and drink too much wine), but I haven't seen this effect at all so far. So I have two questions:

  1. Would you still wait until Wednesday evening for the second injection, or consider injecting early?
  1. Am I likely to start seeing effects on my wine consumption if I haven't already?

Any help much appreciated.

letshavetea · 15/10/2024 17:21

It’s up to you, but I really wouldn’t inject early as it’s not recommended. I inject on a Sunday evening and find it’s fully worn off by Thursday (have had 3rd dose). Good suppression for the first few days. I can control by willpower re food, but struggle with that with alcohol! Still, over a week it’s lots better than it was. I’m hoping as blood levels of MJ rise and I increase my dose from 2.5mg I’ll start to see suppression lasting longer.

Gr3atEscape · 15/10/2024 17:22

Doghairismyglitter · 14/10/2024 22:54

kind of the same. First week on 2.5 was a godsend and brilliant, thought it was life changing.

Second week of 2.5 and not enjoying it one bit! Haven’t eaten a thing since Sunday morning due to vomiting and feeling so ill.

However I only lost 4lbs; 9lbs is huge so well done!! (If I don’t lose more this week after literally NOT eating, I’ll be throwing my bloody pen at the wall 🤣)

How are you feeling now? Really feel for you going through that with 2 kids and a new dog to mind!
Have to say, you have me worried. My partner is in for surgery on Thursday and I will be looking after him and our 2 kids (8 months and 3) for a while. I'm fine to ride out a few nasty side effects but nothing too severe!

Ti2024 · 15/10/2024 17:25

How did everyone find their second jab? Got mine coming up in a couple of days and feeling a bit nervous!

ApolloandDaphne · 15/10/2024 17:26

@killamounjaro I have that user name as Bernini is my favourite sculpter and I adore that statue.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 15/10/2024 17:30

@coastergirl i had my first jab last Wednesday as well and really felt hunger yesterday and today, I’m going to trust the process and continue at the same time and day - I inject in the morning, you could try that? I think on day one, knowing I’d had the jab made me feel less hungry, even if it’s a placebo effect. Can’t help with the wine, but I’m drinking a lot less Diet Pepsi 😂

ohdearwhatnow12 · 15/10/2024 17:31

Hi team. I started on 7th October, 2nd week in now and suppression is real. Never hungry and on 2.5mg. Lost 2.9ibs this week, so I'm very happy!

memememe · 15/10/2024 17:36

Hi my first pen has arrived so I'm keen to join you all. I have a question about side effects. How long after the first injection do they generally show themselves, I'm trying to work out the timings of when to take it to allow for feeling rough. Thank you

Usually 2-3 days after your first jab, it takes around 72 hours to really feel the side effects. I didn't get any other than being really tired

HansHolbein · 15/10/2024 18:10

Collected my pen this afternoon… going to make dinner etc and then read all the paperwork. Then I guess I will have to do it 😬

Midlifecrisisxamillion · 15/10/2024 18:14

Week 1 - Day 6
Oh my poor stomach tonight.
I was doing great between days 3-6 and tonight it all went wrong and I couldn't even walk my dog as I couldn't risk being too far away from my house. Luckily pooch already had two walks when I felt good earlier.

killamounjaro · 15/10/2024 18:19

me too..... was blown away when i saw it in real life a few years ago. He really was an incredible artist. I guessed that was what your name might be for 😁

(Have to say that the Cristo Velato in Naples is another fave, by a different sculptor - worth a visit if you havent seen it)

Good luck with your Mounjaro journey!

Tulip8 · 15/10/2024 18:59

I'm feeling despondent. No sides effects and no appetite suppression. Week 1 Day 4.

MustLoveCats · 15/10/2024 19:04

@Tulip8
Hi, I was feeling quite despondent yesterday (day 3) but it has passed now. I feel like I have more energy today
Hope the feeling passes soon

I've been fine on mine, no side effects other than feeling cold more often, and a bit 'detached' generally. Third one tomorrow morning.
