First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

Hey all. I'm due to order my second pen soon, and wondering if you can use discount codes for that? My first one was from MedExpress.

NearlyAutumnNow · 15/10/2024 09:35

@Iwouldratherbesinging i felt peckish from day 6 on week 1 then straight away it went after the second injection, I think I might do my third injection a day early but I’m trying to stay on top of it if I can. I have eaten so much less crap than usual, just don’t understand how it’s not coming off! I did forget that I had a bit of a boozy night on Saturday, maybe that’s what’s done it??!

Welcome in! 11.5lb is amazing, hope you’re feeling proud of that! I also have a lot to lose, feels unachievable at the moment so I keep telling myself to just concentrate on smaller goals

Thank you! I’m hoping even if I can just maintain a 1-2lb a week loss then that’s good! But it’s hard when you have that big initial drop and it slows down, definitely all about mindset!

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 15/10/2024 11:16

Weigh in day for me and I’ve lost 3.8lbs. That makes a total of 13.4lbs over three weeks!
So close to losing a stone! I’ve also moved into a lower stone bracket which is nice to see on the scales.

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 15/10/2024 11:20

I have a check-in with my pharmacist tomorrow - it’s a week early because I’m going off on holiday. Will need to decide whether to stay on 2.5 or move up to 5.0.
I’ve been really lucky so far with very little in the way of side effects so moving up a dose does make me nervous.

Is 2.5 still working for you? I see a lot of videos on TikTok from people saying their biggest regret throughout their journey was moving up a dose too quickly.

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 15/10/2024 12:17

@ItsMintUpNorth It is just now - I’m just a bit unsure because my check-in is a week early so things might change. I’m probably over-thinking it!

MissSmith80 · 15/10/2024 12:44

First injection done - all seemed to go as per instructions so fingers crossed.

Have been impressed with Medical Express - swift response, well packaged etc

Here are the all important stats (for me and my accountability as much as anything:

SW: 85kgs
Ultimate GW: 68kgs
Christmas goal: 77kgs

I am very excited to have started - I've been wanting to tackle my weight since I gave birth (5 years ago) and just hope that MJ gives me what I need to get started.

Have a good rest of the day.

ApolloandDaphne · 15/10/2024 12:48

My pen was supposed to be delivered today but it didn't arrive with the post. I hope it will be okay until tomorrow.

KolaKoalaKan · 15/10/2024 13:13

Hey
Just joining in to say 'hello' as a fellow October starter! It's taken me a while to catch up reading the threads. I did my second 2.5 on Sunday.
Week 1 was fine. Lost 5lbs. Few waves of nausea, but good suppression for 4 days. I was then ravenous! Which I think is where I've gone wrong, because I think I ate too much high fat/poor quality food on Friday/Saturday and oh geez, I am not ok now! Yesterday I felt sick all day. Then overnight was hell on the loo and with a bowl. Urgh. This morning I forced myself to nibble slowly on about 6 walnuts and ate a banana in tiny tiny bites over 1.5 hours. I've made sure to sip lots of water. I am now feeling slightly more human!
I've also had a cold from hell so that doesn't help.
I'm going to try just eating very small amounts regularly of high protein and high-nutrition food. It's all reminding me too much of the hyperemisis I had when pregnant! Should this sickness and bad tummy get better over time? I'm so reluctant to do too much Googling as I find it very overwhelming.

MustLoveCats · 15/10/2024 13:13

I have definitely noticed that I do not get hunger pangs when I usually do I.e before lunch but I don't feel fuller any quicker than I usually do.
How is everyone else

NearlyAutumnNow · 15/10/2024 13:30

@Dee03 please do report back if it makes any difference, I’ve done 2 in the tummy and got my next dose due thursday night.

Corliss98 · 15/10/2024 13:31

I did my first dose on Saturday. Great suppression. No cravings or food noise which is amazing. The one thing I do feel is cold.

I’ve used food as a crutch for so so long that when I’m feeling low not reaching for the crisps is a really amazing feeling. I’ve got three kids (16, 15 and 12) and two are autistic and life is pretty tough a lot of the time so food has been a comfort. Which is obviously not healthy and I’m worried about my health so hope this breaks a lifetime of bad habits, emotional and binge eating.

I’ve got a long way to go and am dreading the effects wearing off later this week but so far, I’m feeling positive.

SW: 16st 2
GW: 9st 10

Cheris · 15/10/2024 13:36

Hi, I've just posted my 'Newbie' post, and then spotted this thread!

I want to buy my first pen today - I'm so keen to get started, now I've reading and mulling it over for months.

I need to be as cheapskate as possible - I've seen the list of prices, but want to check that they're all delivering the same product iyswim?

Also, does everyone start on 2.5 and generally lose weight on that dose? I've been overweight for years, and I'm desperate to get back to pre kids weight.

Monstermunch10 · 15/10/2024 13:39

I lost the thread for a few days ,then name changed and had to search for a following thread .
I'm a week in to my first dose on 2.5
I got distracted by the various weight loss injection bashing threads .
Wow ,some people are really not happy about these injections being available

MissSmith80 · 15/10/2024 13:51

@ApolloandDaphne sorry, can't tag replies but mine didn't come with the post - it arrived about an hour later as part of a parcel drop round. So there's still time!

@ItsMintUpNorth love that dress! Lovely to have something to aim for! Also dreaming of a nice Xmas outfit!

ladies it’s week 2 and I’ve put on 1lb this week!!! I’m trying to eat normally but without the rubbish - so bowl of yoghurt / granola / fruit for morning; might have light lunch or protein shake and then something healthy - fish / salad for dinner. I have fallen off the wagon slightly and had a bit of Indian takeaway this week - nowhere near what I would usually eat. I have cut out sweets / chocolate / crisps which I would usually be snacking on in abundance. My appetite suppression and cravings are coming back as I inject on a Thursday night so I find the effect wanes a bit during the week. Why am I not losing more??

Hi I am not an expert but I have struggled with this in general life and since starting. I find it’s easy to think oh why am I not losing more but unless you track every single thing and ensure you are in a deficit you can easily just be eating at maintenance. There is also natural weight variation over the month.

Bakedpumpkin · 15/10/2024 13:54

I should have had my second dose Sunday but I’ve had to get a replacement pen because I broke it. So I am on day 10 on 1 x 2.5 only. Definitely can tell the difference in wanting some chocolate / snacks again, how long does it take to leave one’s system entirely does anyone know?

Cheris · 15/10/2024 13:55

On my other thread, someone just explained to me that my BMI isn't high enough for MJ.I've seen other people with similar stats to me on these threads - are people tweaking the numbers to get it?

The postman brought a big parcel for DH so I doubt there is any more coming. We live rurally and all letters/parcels come by van.

I’m pretty sure most prescribers require photographic evidence of weight, so in theory that shouldn’t be happening. There are always loopholes to everything I guess..

PickleSarnie · 15/10/2024 14:01

@Cheris Some people do lose weight on 2.5mg but it's meant to be a dose to get you used to it and build it up in your system so don't be too disheartened if you don't lose anything. I think I'll have lost this first week (weighing tomorrow) but most of that's been down to willpower.

@Monstermunch10 It's crazy how bothered people are. I do think there's an element of needing fat people around just so they can feel superior somehow. All the "just eat less and move more" is so easy to say for a lot of people who give zero thought to being slim. My husband has had a BMI of 23 since I met him years ago. He doesn't exercise, I do loads. He drinks more than me, eats dinner (which is always pretty healthy) and then has cheese and crackers minutes later - I don't. Eats family sized bags of crisps as snacks - I don't. I do believe that I'm overweight because I eat too much but I do think that hormones and genetics affect what "too much" is because there's no other explanation as to how my husband who eats more and moves less than me is effortlessly slim and I'm 5 stone overweight.

My BMI is about 28 and I look fairly fat 😂so there's that

letshavetea · 15/10/2024 14:04

@Cheris Those people (and I’m one of them) have other weight related conditions. Please don’t say this on here this is meant to be a supportive community and the last thing that’s needed is judgement from fellow thread members.

Edited

Yes ,there's two running at the moment, one of them I got quite upset at ,and had to stop reading it ..made me feel ,even if I manage to loose weight on MJ ,I will still be seen as lesser in some people's eyes , because I won't of done it the proper way ... stupidly I thought people would be nothing but happy for anyone who lost weight, going by some of the messages on that thread ,it seems not .
To be fair ,I've deliberately not told some people in my life I'm on MJ ,as knew they wouldn't approve, and I cannot face a discussion where I have to defend my choices
