First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

Can I join please? I took dose 2 of 2.5mg this morning and I feel so rubbish on it. Like above, everything aches and the fatigue is unreal! On the plus side, after this mornings weigh in, I'm down 9lbs after week 1. I know the loss will slow down.

I'm type 1 diabetic and also have PCOS so my insulin resistance is insane. The GP prescribed it to me to help manage my sugars, control pcos and to help me lose weight. I've had 2 DD's and a period on Anti-D's in the last few years, my weight has gone totally out of control since.

So...

SW - 16st 6lb
CW - 15st 11lb
TW - 11st

I have a long weigh (😅) to go so am hoping the side effects get easier. However, my sugars have been 100% in range since I took the first dose, so that is a massive win for me.

kind of the same. First week on 2.5 was a godsend and brilliant, thought it was life changing.

Second week of 2.5 and not enjoying it one bit! Haven’t eaten a thing since Sunday morning due to vomiting and feeling so ill.

However I only lost 4lbs; 9lbs is huge so well done!! (If I don’t lose more this week after literally NOT eating, I’ll be throwing my bloody pen at the wall 🤣)

Today is day 3 for me. I've not had much of an appetite today compared to yesterday where I was definitely hungry and could have eaten badly really if I let myself.

Today, I am not hungry but need to eat in order to get my calories in. Is anyone eating whilst they don't actually feel hungry? I'm not sure if I should do that. I have a cold annoyingly so it's messed with my appetite more really.

Personally no I’m not, I’m trying to eat when I feel hungry. So if I skip a meal, no biggie for me.

However some are still eating their 3 meals.

Anyone have any smaller goals they are trying to get to for Xmas?

My work Xmas do is 2 months away exactly and I don’t want to feel huge!

I'm eating 2 or 3 meals a day, I'm trying to make them healthy choices. I have such good suppression that I could go a very long time without eating which in my opinion is not good for my blood sugars or my health.

I've barley had an appetite so having to eat whilst I'm not hungry, but aiming for minimum 800 calories rather than say 3 meals as I am finding it easier to snack through the day on protein rich things then have a normal meal at night.

I applied yesterday to Medexpress thinking it would take ages and my first pen arrives today! When would be best to start? I was thinking Saturday or Sunday night. I need to complete an essay this week and won't be able to deal with side effects. What side effects did people have after their first dose?

I've seen a lovely dress I would like for my Xmas do / a few other Christmas nights out but it only goes up to a size 18, I'm currently a size 22 but would probably fit in a 20 in a skater style dress which it is, so I am going to give it a few more weeks and if I'm still losing steadily I think I will order it with the aim of it fitting. Would love to be 15st by Xmas too (2 stone off) but feels ambitious saying things like that when I'm only 9 days in!

hopeishere · 15/10/2024 07:20

Day 1 of week 2 and awake during the night with terrible nausea. Now have a headache as well. Will hopefully feel better soon.

Be ambitious! We all got this! Do you have a picture of the dress?

I would also love 2 stone off by Xmas!

I was actually looking at dresses last night but for a years time! 😂 I manage my own branch at work and part of that is throwing a annual conference, it always has a fancy dinner on the evening and this year (first year Iv done it) I just felt and looked like crap! I’m unlikely to see most of the people in person again from now to then and I’d love to ‘wow’ people next year😂 yes it’s sad I know but a general browse of dresses is good motivation for me 😂

I awake with a headache the other day. Took some paracetamol and it was gone in half hour and so far hasn’t returned! Luckily.

@ApolloandDaphne I didn’t have any side effects really, nothing that I could 100% is the pen. I had a headache one day and slight nausea in the car on the weekend but apart from that, nothing.

The dress Smile.

Totally not sad thinking about outfits for next year already, it's exciting feeling like we might finally do this. I have two weddings of which my aim is to fit in a very old Ted baker dress for one of them which I think is about a size 14, and you've just reminded me of a big conference I have each May and like you only see a lot of people annually so now I'm thinking about what I could be wearing to that!

I LOVE that dress! Defo go for it and if you feel comfortable upload a picture of you wearing it. I have loads of old Lipsy dresses that I can’t find into at the moment.

I also have a wedding in August to attend but it’s family so il see everyone loads before then, no wow factor. I already bought 2 dresses for it😂 in the sale for cheap.

I want to buy a nice suit style blazer for my actual conference from Zara for the day as this year I wore just a. Plain black tent dress as I felt huge.

@ItsMintUpNorth love that dress! Lovely to have something to aim for! Also dreaming of a nice Xmas outfit!

ladies it’s week 2 and I’ve put on 1lb this week!!! I’m trying to eat normally but without the rubbish - so bowl of yoghurt / granola / fruit for morning; might have light lunch or protein shake and then something healthy - fish / salad for dinner. I have fallen off the wagon slightly and had a bit of Indian takeaway this week - nowhere near what I would usually eat. I have cut out sweets / chocolate / crisps which I would usually be snacking on in abundance. My appetite suppression and cravings are coming back as I inject on a Thursday night so I find the effect wanes a bit during the week. Why am I not losing more??

ApolloandDaphne · 15/10/2024 07:42

I sold much of my wardrobe on Vinted in the summer so I will need to buy more clothes if (when) I lose weight. Can't wait!

I didn’t really have any side effects, a niggling headache and felt cold for a couple of days. Side effects seem to be so varying. I have mild constipation but that’s normal for me and I take fibogel regularly. I ummed and ahhed about the right day to take it, had a word with myself and just went for it. Good luck!

Hi, can I join? 🥰 started at the end of September, on my 3rd injection and lost 11.5lb so far. Starting at 17st4lb so alot to lose. Hoping to lose at least 3 stone on Mounjaro

doodlydooo · 15/10/2024 07:55

@Fizzleaway that's a fab idea to think about a smaller goal! And very motivating too! I have a wedding next summer which really pushed me to get started with this but perhaps I need to have a think about a mini goal for NYE too!
@ItsMintUpNorth that's a gorgeous dress!

I am a size 18/20 and 16.5 st. am so excited to wear my (very) old clothes again as I feel like I've been rotating the same 5 tent like outfits for about 4 years. I don't let myself buy anything for "this body" as I felt like it was accepting this is the size I'll be forever.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 15/10/2024 07:58

@ItsMintUpNorth thats a beautiful dress! It’s good to have ambition and goals to aim for.
@NearlyAutumnNow dont beat yourself up, it’s only your second week, it could just be normal fluctuations. I know what you mean though, I’m due to inject for week 2 tomorrow and I’m hungry already and I know today will be a struggle. Hang on in there!

ItsMintUpNorth · 15/10/2024 07:58

On the subject of clothes I cleared out my wardrobe and have EIGHT pairs of jeans that don't fit me that I've hung onto 'for when I lose weight', so I at least know I won't need to buy any jeans through the process as I have some in every bloody size Grin. Then on Sunday night the only pair of jeans that fit me finally wore through between the legs so I am now Jean-less until I fit into some of my smaller ones, one pair are a size 20 so hopefully won't be too far off.

Welcome in! 11.5lb is amazing, hope you’re feeling proud of that! I also have a lot to lose, feels unachievable at the moment so I keep telling myself to just concentrate on smaller goals

This is exactly how I feel too. I'm with Voy and in the intro call where they advised to eat small portions throughout the day rather than any one big meal and nothing else but I've not done that very well yet.

Dee03 · 15/10/2024 08:59

3rd injection day today - injected into my thigh just to see if it changes anything.
2lb loss this week so that's 11 lb in 2 weeks...
I've had no suppression this week, still had the food noise constantly but I've been very good. No other side effects at all. I think I'm going to up it to the 5 when I order next week.

hopeishere · 15/10/2024 09:03

@doodlydooo did you find the welcome call useful?

I think I am conditioned to eating at set times so am eating even if I don't feel hungry.

Sounds like a plan although 800 calories everyday is incredibly low!! I’m not at all hungry either which is after all what we’re taking this for 😂(day, 3 2nd week) It’s especially true in the mornings so I made myself eat a small bowl of kefir and fruit with some seeds. I used to fast but something is telling me that I should eat more regularly to help stabilise blood sugar levels. I’m definitely able to eat a little more in the evening but still no real appetite which is helping me to seriously reduce my portions and set some new habits in place. Also,
totally no snacking which is great.
I know MJ is supposed to be a long term thing but I’m hoping to lose the weight, set new healthier habits and then come off it as soon as I can!! I’m already reading about how to avoid rebound’ weight once MJ’s help is gone and preparing myself for a period of adjustment where I will have to find positive ways of dealing with the return of ‘food noise’ and hunger (which to be honest I don’t mind feeling - it’s the response I need to change!!) Anyway - hope everyone’s doing alright - sleep still an issue for me but I’m getting to bed much earlier to try and mitigate all the waking up!
