Hey all. I’m 1stone 11lbs down in 11 weeks. 3 stone 1lb to go. I have suppression but I can still eat meals which is fine with me. My chocolate addiction is under control. I still have chocolate, sometimes every day, but it one of those dairy milk little bars instead of a massive share bar!

biggest problem at the moment is rich tea biscuits. I have between 7 and 10 a day. It’s all within my calorie limited but I feel it’s a bit too much. I have 2 for breakfast as I’m in a rush as I’m in the gym at 6am. 3/4 when I get home from work and maybe a couple later. I’m not hungry when I have them but I just like them and they go with a cuppa! I feel I need to reduce them though and I’m not sure how! It’s the one thing left I feel I need to get control of!

I love a rich tea biscuit but they are lethal aren't they! What about making some flapjacks instead? Or someone had a recipe for cocoa balls with dates, prunes, coconut xx

NippyCrab · 20/10/2024 18:36

Sorry I'm clogging the thread up! @AdeloreSmore those pancakes look 😋 what's your recipe? @CrazyGoatLady they had a good sale on I'm hoping i like them, they are still unopened 🙄

HippoPortlyMouse · 20/10/2024 18:46

@Fuffedoff we are going away next week and I am planning on taking the scales! I know I sound a bit unhinged but I like weighing daily and tracking the ups and downs.

CrazyGoatLady · 20/10/2024 18:49

@Bexs2247 I'm a big fan of these - super easy to make and you can mix in whatever you like, raisins, dates, choc chips etc. Definitely hit the spot when you have a sweet craving!

No Bake Energy Balls

These no bake energy balls require only one bowl, eight ingredients and about 10 minutes of prep time. You’ll love having them as a portable snack option!

Aren’t they just!! I do like flapjacks and I’ve got a recipe for sweet potato brownies which are nice but I’m not one for cooking/baking particularly. Hence why I go for the rich teas!

Thanks. What could I use instead of peanut butter do you think as I’m allergic to nuts?

FlappingMadly · 20/10/2024 18:55

A bust here today. Had celery soup for lunch and not hungry at all. Then daughter requested butter chicken and it all went to pot. I added half and half yogurt and cream but, ahem, had two servings. Whoops.

pretend peanut butter. I can’t recall the name but someone else will probably know.

I think the allergy friendly alternative is called Wowbutter, think it's soy based?

AdeloreSmore · 20/10/2024 19:04

Banana Pancakes -

Mash a banana in a bowl. Add 1 egg and whisk it in with a fork. Add 25g wholemeal flour. Whisk the flour in.

(I also add in a couple tbsp's milled flaxseed, but that's for the extra fibre not the recipe)

I fry it with a dollop of veg oil, but use the cooking juice of your choice! Divide the mix into 3 pancakes and cook a couple mins on each side.

10.5g protein 2.5g fibre
250cal for the 3. (Not including the oil)

Ah, I'm glad it's not just me!

It keeps me on the straight and narrow. It's only taking it down the road with me. It would be different if we were going abroad 😂

Does anyone find the amount of sleep they get, affects their weight?

If I'm running on rubbish amounts, my weight just does not seem to budge

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/10/2024 19:10

@Bexs2247 maybe swap them for a fibre /protein bar so have a few but the breakfast and with a. Cuppa swap

Equally if losing weight which you are - have and enjoy them if that's your treat

@Fuffedoff enjoy Cornwall. Maybe have a break from Scales

@itwasnevermine 1000c seems low to me so add some cheese. That's high cal but also healthy

HippoPortlyMouse · 20/10/2024 19:17

@Fuffedoff yes I too would draw the line at abroad, but when it's a bag in the back of the car, I can hide the scales at the bottom and DH will never know! 😆

itwasnevermine · 20/10/2024 19:43

No appetite this evening at all, but my meal prep for tomorrow is done - protein weetabix for breakfast and chicken stew for lunch

AnnieMcFanny · 20/10/2024 20:50

yes. This is the pretend peanut butter.

20bloodypounds · 20/10/2024 21:23

@Bexs2247 could you be really daring and NOT buy rich tea biscuits? Perhaps Jacobs cream crackers instead, which you'll not enjoy quite as much?

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/10/2024 21:39

Or buy one packet a week

You must be buying 2/3 if having 10 a day

OP posts:
FlappingMadly · 20/10/2024 21:45

@Bexs2247 eating that many could your body be needing something? Maybe try a high fat/protein snack - tuna/egg mayo eg on a rice cake, or cheese on a cracker type thing and see how you go.

I don’t have 10 every day! A packet lasts me about 4 days or so normally

I try and keep my protein at about 80g - 90g a day. I’m not having them cos I’m hungry. It’s a habit thing I think or, it’s the only sweet thing I’m having now that I don’t have anywhere near as much chocolate as pre jab. I’m not having cakes and I don’t really have crisps or that kind of thing. Guess I still just have a sweet tooth!

FlappingMadly · 20/10/2024 21:55

@Bexs2247 then a few dates?

Maybe but I don’t particularly want to cut them out completely. I want to still be able to have them sometimes so I really need to fix the habit I think and get used to being able to just have a couple a day. Just need to work out how. I never go over my calorie allowance with them but I also know they’re not necessarily the best choice all the time
