At the moment I'm driven largely by price. When I get nearer a healthy BMI I'll certainly be looking at maintenance. I've lost and regained too many times to think I'll find it easy to maintain because I've somehow magically been 'taught' something I didn't know before. I think my knowledge has been pretty good, it's been my consistent application of it that sucked, which is why I've found MJ so useful. I'd really like to think I could perhaps take it at intervals if I find bad habits creeping back, without having to pile on loads before I qualify. I'll certainly look at Oushk at that point, though I imagine more providers will be offering similar plans by then. I'm not even at my halfway point yet, and that was with a goal weight which would just squeak me under a 25 BMI. If I could, I'd ideally like to get to about 23 to give me a buffer zone.

That's fair enough! I think Oushk seem really decently priced and tend to have a lot of deals going on

weaseleyes · 23/10/2024 10:23

They may suck me in before then if the deals are good! I've switched three times so far and every time I do I have to wrestle my feelings of a/ laziness in the face of a bit more admin/photo stuff b/ guilt that I am somehow letting the provider down (like they care about anything other than a repeat sale! Honestly, women's over-responsibility is a curse.)

itwasnevermine · 23/10/2024 13:28

No lunchtime walk for me today because I, ahem, had to use the lavatory 🤣 that's really my only downside to these at the moment

weaseleyes · 23/10/2024 13:34

Depressing to see yet another poorly-informed fat people-loathing thread on weight loss jabs. Good to see sterling work from some posters here (like you @itwasnevermine!) putting more reasoned points. I know I should avoid looking at them, but I can seldom avoid a quick skim. Ah well, keeps me focused on my laziness, greediness, dishonesty and stupidity, just in case I was in any danger of being actually pretty well-educated in this field or successfully trying to tackle a long-standing issue.

I will always fight them because they have no idea what it's like.

@itwasnevermine well said... ! You have my vote - nobody will ever realise what it's like unless you are in this position before we started out; trying your best to lose but don't see a drop regardless; I am so appreciative of everybody who is defending these injections to the jab shamers; please be in our shoes to realise our daily struggles, mentally and physically, yes - the injections are maybe life changing and an amazing tool - but we all need to put in our own hard work along the way too and that needs to be recognised throughout our journeys xx

weaseleyes · 23/10/2024 14:52

Thank you for your service, @itwasnevermine!

One of the reasons it's so challenging to read is that - probably like for a lot of us - my inability to tackle weight/eating has been so tied up with self-blame and self-loathing for me. It's really, really hard trying to tackle this, alongside the whole web of complex and unhelpful thoughts/behaviours which most of the time I know perfectly well aren't healthy. It's not like giving yourself excuses, it's trying to replace coping mechanisms that have served a valuable function, even if they've been damaging at the same time. You work so hard to try to train yourself out of this mindset and then you see posts like the ones on that thread and you think oh, actually there's loads of people who think I'm loathsome after all.

I shall try to show them more empathy than they show us. Life is full of people who need to shore themselves up by demonising others.

itwasnevermine · 23/10/2024 15:03

You're all very welcome, I'll take payment in compliments at my next progress pics 🫡🤣

Yes @weaseleyes that's exactly it. My weight has been so closely linked to my own self hatred that I get so defensive.

Welcome @Changinghabits1973

It's that time of the month again when I am getting reminders from Zavamed to reorder, and I just don't know whether to stick with the 5mg or switch up to 7.5mg.

On one hand I am happy on 5mg, I am losing about 2lbs per week but only because I am calorie counting 1200 cals a day. I don't cheat and I only get mildly hungry. Also I've got about another four and a half stone to go.

On the other hand, if I order another 5mg then that's six weeks in which the effect might wear off. I'm also a bit worried about the approach of Christmas which is a really dangerous time for me and contains ALL my favourite food and drink (cough Baileys) and I would really like to be more suppressed at Christmas.

I am sure that I write this post every month

Also I will need to change prescriber soon, well, in the next two months or so, as Zava don't support prescribing at healthy bmi, and I want the option to get off it at my own pace. I'm so tempted by Oushk as they look brilliant., but I am feeling reticent as they are new and fairly small. So many decisions!

Congrats on all the loose clothing, I am desperate for a new bra, it is moving about all over the place.

I’ve had two pens from Oushk and they’re fab xxx

Ellepff · 25/10/2024 01:06

@weaseleyes on the Maintenance Phase podcast they always talk about how fat people know MORE about diet and nutrition and weight loss than skinny people. And I agree! I know what to do, and on injections I can do it. I do worry about maintenance. I wish there was an option (when I get there) to try to maintain without injections but to have the option to go back on a few times a year if I need to. I’ve heard some private doctors in the states do that but I also hear they give celebs unlimited ketamine.

CrazyGoatLady · 25/10/2024 12:46

Happy Friday August starters!

Weird week this week. I had a lot of nausea at the start of the week so didn't eat much on Mon/Tues, then yesterday was suddenly really hungry and went over calories for the first time since starting. Probably playing catch up I guess, and I slept really badly Weds night so being tired probably impacted my appetite.

Have had the dreaded constipation this week too, which hasn't really been a thing since I started. I haven't weighed this week because that's probably going up affect it and I don't want to get down about one week with no loss.

Hope everyone is doing ok moving into the weekend 😊

I think some maintenance options like that are beginning to appear now, that's certainly what I'd hope for. I'd like to think I can maintain, but I don't see why a bit of intermittent usage to help stay there wold be morally shameful! I mean, ideally I'd never have been overweight my entire life, but as I have been I have to live with the legacy of it as best I can.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 25/10/2024 15:05

Hello 😊 been prescribed 7.5mg pen 😬
How many clicks to take 6mg? Want to gradually increase it this time xx

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2024 15:09

48 clicks

Hi everyone, I've not posted since the first thread but I'm still following and plodding along nicely with my weight loss.
Other than some rather awful constipation I've been doing ok until I've come on my period this month. They're always moderately heavy and I take an odd painkiller but this month is the worry I've ever known. So very painful and painkillers barely touch it. I know others have had periods that wouldn't usually have them, or they've been heavier, but has anyone had the increase in cramps?

@Torvi pop over to thread 7, there were a few who did have period issues xx

Morning All. Haven't been around much recently but sad to report that, despite eating very carefully and cleanly, I haven't lost on over 2 weeks. Infact I've gained a pound! I think my decision to do a 2nd month on 5mg wasn't the best one. I've still had decent suppression but feel like 5mg has done all it can for now.

I'm due to reorder so will go up to 7.5mg. Anyone else found that increasing to 7.5mg kick started weight loss again?

Arraminta · 01/11/2024 10:28

Oops. Will repost on new thread!

Hello @Changinghabits1973 sounds like you are doing really well - just shy of 3 stone loss, that is loads. Thank you for the Oushk recommendation too.

Thank you @Timetochange24 I will have to pay full price because there isn't a chance that I will be signing up the a FB page!!!! 😂 I'm sure Oushk will be less than Voy though and being able to specify a delivery date would take away a whole load of delivery anxiety.

Oushk usually send you some sort of promo code for a discount most months xxx

Yip……very chatty!! I only flit in and out every week and the threads moved on 50 pages 😂😂😂

I think loads of us using Oushk now. I’ve had my last three pens from them and can’t fault them. I’ve never paid full price as they always email a discount code and even when Royal Mail lost my delivery, I spoke to Oushk and they sent out a replacement that day which arrived next day xxx

FlappingMadly · 28/11/2024 23:06

I'm an eejit and completely forgot after my bonanza last month that Voy and Numan are subscription and they've both sent me 10mg pens. I went up to 7 last week and am very happy with it. Am suppressed even today before tomorrow's jab. If I do 7 with a 10mg I'll go beyond a month. What do you think? Okay to do it?
