@Bexs2247 10 biscuits in one sitting isn’t good for you at all, your blood sugar, and I’m wondering if you allow yourself 3 everyday it might help you with your binging.

Another poster mentioned you might eat them because you have a need and I’m wondering if you have fluctuating blood sugar and you need a hit from the biscuits to perk you up.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/10/2024 23:11

Sorry you said 7/10 a day so that's 49/70 a week

Not trying to shame you or anything but mentioned it

I think we all have to have some 'vice/treat' now as when off mj means we may binge the bad stuff

Hopefully not as we will be in better eating habits

As I've said previously my vice /treat is crisps

I don't have a packet a day but prob 4/5 over the week

Where before would have 1/2 a day every day

Chocolate I can take or leave it tho have been a bit partial to Aldi dinosaurs - which are like Freddo frogs and sometimes have one in the evening

I think if we never treat ourselves it's a losing battle but if we can eat less of what we loved but still enjoy it's a win

@Bexs2247 I am sorry if this sounds harsh.

But I do not understand why you'd be on Mounjaro if you want to continue eating 7-10 biscuits a day!

The entire point is that it gives us breathing room to adjust our eating habits. Something being a habit doesn't mean that you just have to carry on with it being like that. You can break a habit.

Much like blondes I used to eat a 1-2 packets of crisps a day. Since starting my MJ journey I've had 4. This week is the first week since starting MJ that I've had a multipack of crisps in the house and it's much easier to turn them down because I now know I don't need them. Yes they're a nice treat but I can control myself around them.

To be honest you need to cut that habit out, and now, because it's not healthy. Being able to have a treat would be 1 or 2 with a cup of tea. Not 10!

ChunkyMunky · 21/10/2024 07:32

Been away for the weekend so lots to catch up on here, will have a read through this evening, but just want to check in while I remember.

Weigh day for me…

9 weeks on Mounjaro

Start Weight: 17st 6.7lbs
Current Weight: 14st 13.2lbs

Total Loss: 2st 7.5lbs

I’m now one third of the way to my goal weight. Can’t even remember the last time my weight started with a 14, it has been years and years, and I don’t think I r ever lost this much on any other diet before (I usually give up after the first stone).

Onwards and downwards 😊

Wingingit11 · 21/10/2024 07:39

Morning all
well after a week of being a negative Nelly sure nothing was working I’ve actually lost 2lb😅 and depending on how I position scales (!) some readings are 199 lb which feels a bit milestone! So onwards!
decided I am going to up my activity in November to push now we are at the stage of weight loss it inevitably slows /pauses a lot

SilverSprings510 · 21/10/2024 07:56

After my weekend away, scales are showing a 1/2 lb gain, but I think it’s water, as we had a salty tea yesterday. Don’t officially weigh til Weds so will hopefully have resolved by then!

CrazyGoatLady · 21/10/2024 07:57

Congrats on the losses @ChunkyMunky and @Wingingit11

Breaking through plateaus is hard - I'm not losing at the same rate any more and can see one on its way! I probably only have around 5kg left to lose now and this might be the hard slog bit.

Good luck to all the August starters this week!

owlyboo · 21/10/2024 08:18

@ChunkyMunky congrats that a brilliant loss! Hope you had a nice weekend away!

@Bexs2247 don't feel bad about rich teas, life is too short, you're not doing crack (I'm guessing...) if you can begin to cut down, great! If not then at least you're staying in calories 🤷‍♀️

Well done @Wingingit11 !

Fingers crossed @SilverSprings510 im sure that'll be gone by Wednesday!

@CrazyGoatLady jealous of only having 5kg left to lose! I've got 2 stone, 3 pound left. So with losing 2 and a half stone so far at least I'm over half way!!

MargoLivebetter · 21/10/2024 09:15

I feel breathless trying to keep up with you all!!!! Monday weigh in and I'm a pound down, so I'm very happy with that.

@Mum0ntherun I have really struggled with the emotional eating side of things. I have always eaten when stressed, angry, sad or anxious. The repression for me when I first started MJ was so severe that I constantly felt on edge when a negative emotion hit me. I'd be prowling around the kitchen in such a state of agitation as I was desperate to eat but I just couldn't. I find a bit of exercise helps, so sometimes I pretend to go to the loo and I do some squats of jumping on the spot, just to get rid of the agitated feeling. I'm also trying to be "mindful" and just sit with the horrible emotion for a bit and recognise that it is ok to feel angry, sad, stressed and anxious and I don't need to shove it all down with food. I'm still a bit shit at doing that though, so I mostly end up jumping or squatting like a total weirdo!

I've really noticed that my tolerance with DP has diminished. Someone else on the thread talked about their DH being the RIGHT man for them but always RIGHT, and I have that a bit with DP. In the past, I'd just let him bang on 'being right' and sneak in a bit of chocolate and ignore it but now I just find I often want to batter him.

FlappingMadly · 21/10/2024 09:15

Woah! Let’s not censure! We are in a way, each others therapy and if we question someone’s right to have MJ we’re on a very slippery slope! None of us would be on it if we’d make good decisions.

I'm not questioning their right to have it.

I'm wondering why you'd be on it and eat 10 biscuits a day.

No, none of us made good choices before being on MJ. But when you're still on it and making poor choices, you need to evaluate why you're on it and if it's the right treatment for you at this moment in time.

owlyboo · 21/10/2024 09:32

@MargoLivebetter 😂😂 I shouldn't laugh but 'batter him' glad I'm now divorced and blissful without a man's heavy breathing, shoes, mess etc pushing me to the edge! Well done on the weight loss!!

I genuinely believe if you're calories counting I couldn't really care if 300 calories come from some rich teas or some cheese and rice cakes... if the rest of your diet is okay and you're within calories then 🤷‍♀️ and I don't even like rich teas 😂 I'm not a sweet tooth person so to be fair I don't really binge on anything like that but if I had a bit within calories I wouldn't worry to much. As after MJ if you're still cal counting and staying within I don't see why it matters.

Is anyone struggling with clothes at the moment? I appreciate it's a wonderful problem to have but I'm walking around looking like a kid wearing my dad's trousers.

I thought I'd accepted the size I'd been at for quite some time back in Spring and treated myself to a lot of new stuff that I felt flattered me.

Mid august I decided I still hated the way I looked as a bigger size so started Mounjaro. I'm around 12kg down which isn't even half way for me but I've dropped quite a few inches and now I look a bit ridiculous in my lovely new clothes.

How are you all getting around this? I've never been a leggings and stretchy fabric kind of person (sensory issues) and I don't want to splash out on yet more stuff that (hopefully!) won't fit me in another few months time.

Flapping with the greatest respect for you and what you put into helping us I think the censorship is coming from you. You’re the one trying to silence people by inferring that if we can’t for eg tell a person it’s ok to eat 10 biscuits at once we shouldn’t say anything.

10 biscuits is a real hit on a persons blood sugar. It’s also an indication that something needs resolved for the person. Why would we say that’s ok, just keep on having them? The Mounjaro is a tool that helps us tackle sorting ourselves out and really, none of us should be going forward saying well I’m not going to be giving up my 2 full day files a day for eg even when I’m a healthy weight.

Yep!!! All my T-shirts and jumpers are huge on me. Most of them are merch too so not able to buy again so I'm putting up with it 😂🥲

owlyboo · 21/10/2024 10:23

@poppym12 luckily I work from home and mainly am either working, cleaning or walking so I tend to just wear leggings and a baggy T-shirt. I need to get some smaller leggings and will just put up with the baggier baggy t shirts for now!

But I understand that that's not possible with sensory issues... what about selling your 'new' but to big clothes on vinted and buying some more on vinted with the money you make to tide you over?

MargoLivebetter · 21/10/2024 10:41

Without wishing to fan any flames on biscuitgate, the questions I have been asking myself whilst on MJ is "Why am I eating this?" or "Why do I want to eat this?".

For me the eyeopener on my emotional eating has been quite personally shocking. I've been in denial about how significant it was. I'm hoping that MJ is going to give me the opportunity to think about food as a necessary fuel and not something that is a treat, comfort or any other type of "mind" food, rather than body food - if that makes sense. I'm also trying really hard not to beat myself up about anything food related either, as I know in the past I've used going without certain foods as a way to punish myself too.

I appreciate that this isn't the same for everyone and some people it is more about portion control (I have a bit of that too) or the actual foods that they are eating.

So, I suppose @Bexs2247 I'd be gently asking myself why I want the rich tea, which is what you were doing by posting about it on here. Sounds like you have good loss, so the rich tea are not getting in the way of that, which is great but there is obviously something about them that is a hook. I guess it is recognising what that mental hook is and then asking if you feel ok with that or if it might be something you want to consider changing. Just my thoughts and I'm not more knowledgeable than anyone else on here!

@poppym12 would you buy and sell on the Bay of Fleas (ebay)? That's how I've managed my shrinking / growing body over the past 20 years. I know brands I like and what will fit.

Morning All!
Hope you all had a good week. Congrats to all those who have had losses and NSVs, hugs to those who STS or gained. Now the weather is turning August seems like a very long time ago and yet here we all are! Still going, still doing our best, even when the scales work against us.
I think we all deserve a pat on the back and a big well done😊

Weigh day for me. Chuffed to bits that I have made up for my two weeks of only losing a few ounces. This MJ weight loss is pretty much identical to that of the Fast 800 diet, only I get to eat a lot more! Happy days!😄

SW 14th Aug 24 - 20st 3lbs
CW 21st Oct 24 - 18st 4lbs
WL - 4.4lbs
TL 21st Oct 24 - 1st 13lbs

Wk10 (bonus dose and some) 8.58mg 4.4lbs
3.75mg wk4/wk9 0.6lbs, wk3/wk8 0.2lbs
5mg wk2/wk7 2.4lbs, 5mg wk1/wk6 4.2lbs
Wk5 bonus dose 3.25mg - 2.8lbs
Wk4 2.5mg - 2.6lbs, wk3 - 2.4lbs, wk2 - no loss, wk1 7.4lbs

I am due to jab today, however, because the supression has been so strong and I have not cooked myself a single healthy meal or eaten any vegetables over the last week, I am going to delay this injection until I start cooking properly again. I have hit my calorie and protein goals each day but it has been a forced effort and not at all enjoyable.

Onwards we go!😊

To be honest you need to cut that habit out, and now, because it's not healthy. Being able to have a treat would be 1 or 2 with a cup of tea. Not 10!

MJ has allowed me to cut all other bad habits and reduce portion size. I’ve lost nearly 2 stone on it so far. This is the last habit I need to sort. I don’t have 10 every day and don’t have them all in one go, to be honest I don’t want to stop having some biscuits completely.

I just need to reduce this last part of it.
