Whats on the menu for everyone tonight? I've a wee notion for a fry up but i don't have all the items and I can't be bothered going out. I could have sourdough toast, bacon beans and eggs, I don't like beans next to my eggs without a few things in between like sausages or a tattie scone.

MargoLivebetter · 18/10/2024 16:37

DD can't have beans touch her eggs either @NippyCrab. We call what you're having ' Brinner'!

It's going to be chicken breast filets that are currently marinading in a soy sauce type of thing ( sauce is from a packet), loads of veg and rice. Making crumble for DP but I know I'll be too full to have any!

I made a crustless quiche at lunchtime so that's me sorted. The rest of the family can sort themselves out 😆

I think I'm starting to reach that point where the levels of MJ in my system are staying pretty stable at a level where they suppress me week round. It's taken me all day to eat a protein bar!

Glittermoonlight · 18/10/2024 17:01

So many new posts to read! It’s hard to keep up!
I cannot believe I’ve now completed 8 weeks on MJ. Today was my first 7.5mg jab taken earlier, so far just feeling really sleepy this afternoon, no other side effects.
I've lost another pound in the last week bringing my total to 21lbs which seems hard to believe.
The main difference is my BP has dropped significantly. It never has made too much difference when I’ve lost weight before. Even on 3 different medications it can still get very high normally. It’s amazing to get lower readings.

Manypaws · 18/10/2024 17:06

Having Campbell cream of chicken soup tonight, I took a real notion for it

SilverSprings510 · 18/10/2024 17:41

I’m in the airport currently drinking a glass of wine. Just away to see a friend for the weekend - will be back on Sunday afternoon. Haven’t eaten much since jab this week but a takeaway is on the cards tonight when I get in so it’ll all balance out eventually.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/10/2024 17:42

So the dulcolax I took on Wednesday night after being bunged up for 4 days.....never again.

I thought taking one had helped as yesterday I went a couple of times. However, this afternoon, I can't keep off the loo.

I'm wondering if this is actually the one off dulcolax or maybe I picked up a bug on the plane?

I don't really want to resort to imodium as I'll be bunged up again but I can't sleep on the toilet tonight! Any tips please?

lookathatbookcase · 18/10/2024 17:46

@NippyCrab Had a late lunch / early dinner of sweet n sour chicken, egg fried rice, and fried kale; then chocolate protein pudding with tinned mandarins & oatly cream.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/10/2024 17:57

I struggle with the protein puddings. I find them too thick and creamy

So prefer normal yog /pudding

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/10/2024 17:58

@SilverSprings510 have fun with friend

@poppym12 erm. No advise. Sorry. Never been bunged apart for. When gave birth

Lactulose is good but if too runny tmi then maybe Imodium is your best bet

itwasnevermine · 18/10/2024 18:38

I've never experienced suppression like today so soon after the jab. It's like straight away it's gone, nothing sounds good at all

NippyCrab · 18/10/2024 18:47

I ended up having 2 slice of sourdough with pastrami and beans. I need to get back into cooking again, with DH away all the time I can't be arsed for myself. I love baking too but it's too risky with the sugar, I'm scared one morsel will make me fall off the wagon.
What about a half immodium @poppym12
@SilverSprings510 a takeaway sounds fab what do you normally have?
@Blondeshavemorefun I'm the same i prefer a protein mousse, the puddings are gloop, i don't like anything like that at all, like creme brulee.
@lookathatbookcase I love a wee stir fry, with noodles or rice but prefer noodles 🍜
I've not had a campbells soup in years, my Mum used to make a chicken dish with the condensed mushroom one @Manypaws

@AdeloreSmore what's in your quiche?
@MargoLivebetter what type of crumble is it? I love any crumble, warm with cold custard or cream. I prefer my beans in a wee separate dish just in case 😂

MargoLivebetter · 18/10/2024 18:52

@NippyCrab I've made apple and plumb crumble - DP's favourite. My own recipe fruit filling but always Delia's recipe for the crumble topping.

owlyboo · 18/10/2024 18:53

@weaseleyes daily mail 'fat jab drugs make Devon lady at risk of quick sand on walks' 😂😂

AdeloreSmore · 18/10/2024 19:02

@owlyboo 🤣 @ninjacrab Smoked mackerel, peas and spinach. I'm really bad with greens so have to sneak them in things like quiche!

Wingingit11 · 18/10/2024 19:16

I jabbed yday and nothing, in fact have had pizza 😅it’s like it’s stopped all of a sudden

Manypaws · 18/10/2024 19:20

Oh dear god 🤣

NippyCrab · 18/10/2024 19:39

@AdeloreSmore I'm changing my name to nippy ninja crab 🦀 haha and that does sound lush, I wouldn't have thought about doing it with mackerel 😋🐟

Omg @owlyboo howling 🤣🤣

II@MargoLivebetter use Delia too, it's the perfect weather for comfort and crumble. X

FlappingMadly · 18/10/2024 19:45

DH’s bday so lasagna and salad followed by Persimmon sliced thinly with mandarin gelato, yogurt, walnuts & honey.

poppym12 · 18/10/2024 19:49

I've only got the imodium melts so just taken one of those. The dulcolax are going in the bin.

ChunkyMunky · 18/10/2024 20:17

@owlyboo 🤣

Well done on the losses everyone! @Blondeshavemorefun your overall progress is great, I know you’ve had some tough weeks of plateau but it’s all paying off now.

@poppym12 it’s so annoying isn’t it. I went the opposite way a few weeks ago, had the runs for a few days and then it was replaced by constipation, so frustrating. Keep your fluids up and rest if you can.

Got told yesterday “ohh you’ve lost loads of weight, I can see it in your face”, and although I was smiling and saying thanks I was just thinking, it’s not my face I was worried about, it’s the rest of me! Still, I think I am shrinking a bit. Currently wearing jeans that were too tight 6 weeks ago, and are now comfy on the tummy, and actually quite saggy around the thighs.

I’m really relieved that my legs are coming back actually. I always hated my big thighs, but used to be happy enough with things from the knees down, but in the spring I tried on some shorts and dresses and was horrified at how fat my knees had gone. I spent the summer in long dresses and skirts to hide them. They look fairly normal again now, and have even been allowed out in tights over the last couple of weeks. Greatly looking forward to having a better figure next summer.

Haven’t eaten yet as Fridays are a crazy busy evening for me. I have got a fish pie in the freezer, so might have that. Not really feeling particularly hungry but have only grazed on light bits today so probably should.

It’s funny, on the days that I don’t have side effects I worry that I’ve got no suppression, but if I think back to the quantity that I used to eat, then I must have some really as I’m eating so much less now. I just need my brain to accept that suppression doesn’t have to equal nausea, it can just be a calm feeling of not wanting anything unnecessary.

owlyboo · 18/10/2024 20:19

@Blondeshavemorefun as you hated that you posted yours so much I thought I would join you in solidarity... my jawline and collarbone are definitely starting to pop! Went to mums earlier and she said how much weight I'd lost of my face!

@owlyboo that’s a chic collarbone - you look tiny?!
