Back after a week away all inclusive and the scales showed a 200g increase this morning - but I am very constipated. I think I'll have to hit the dulcolax before bed as the fybogel hasn't helped.

I've just realised I haven't eaten at all today so I need to sort this bowel issue out pdq. I've just not felt hungry but I'm cooking some dinner at the moment.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2024 18:13

@AnnieMcFanny hopefully you will have a loss

I weigh 3lbs more in evening than morning. Guess as have food etx

Wow @Motnight that's great! Almost like three free pairs of boots 😂

@MabelSpan glad you're feeling okay, and great that the neighbours noticed must have felt nice!

@AnnieMcFanny you never know you might suddenly have a loss. I shall keep my fingers crossed for you! And yes my tastes have definitely changed on MJ some things I had all the time (Coke Zero was a biggie!) I haven't had in weeks/months as I can't face them! Meat im much more funny with now, thought of it sometimes makes me feel 🤢

AnnieMcFanny · 17/10/2024 18:24

It’s strange @Blondeshavemorefun. I’m usually a kilo lighter in the morning than I am at night but this week I’m the same weight in the morning as I was at night.

Ive been thinking about people people being sick and bringing up food that ate even two days earlier and I suspect they’re eating to fast and not chewing enough. It’s a fault we have as overweight people and if our digestion is in a delicate state just now it would make sense that it’s not just what we eat that counts it’s also how we eat.

Wingingit11 · 17/10/2024 18:52

Just jabbed in stomach for the first time. Hoping for a good week!

That’s an interesting idea. I tend to finely dice veg that I don’t like and then try and just swallow it without chewing much. It’s a tactic I’ve used to try and coax myself to eat more veg, because I don’t really enjoy much of it to be honest, but maybe my digestive system is finding that a bit challenging.

MargoLivebetter · 17/10/2024 19:48

Arf at dolphin burps!

@AnnieMcFanny I definitely have an altered sense of taste. When I was on holiday a few weeks ago it was really, noticeable and quite difficult to deal with. At home, I'm a bit boring and eat stuff I know won't taste weird.

Given I'm a mid 50s gimmer, I like a supplement too:

Magnesium glycinate
Vit D and K2 (Oct - Mar)
Vit C and zinc
Glucosamine
Red Clover isoflavones
Iron bisglycinate about twice a week.

@MabelSpan glad you survived your mega dose.

My digestive process has slowed. I have acid reflux which I've never had before. I've been a bit IBS for years with poo moving through fast and often. That's gone and sometimes I only poo every second day! Bet you all wanted to know that Grin!

weaseleyes · 17/10/2024 19:53

@MargoLivebetter I only manage every second day too 😀It happens to me every time I diet, mainly because I cut out bread I think. Bread is terrible for my weight but great for my bowels. This time I'm including occasional bits of rye bread which seems to help without sending me into my usual bread spiral.

Jab night for me. I'm going down to 4 after the step up from 3.75 to 4.3 proved too exciting for me last week!

Edited for typing bread when I meant weight - sign of a bread compulsion!

MargoLivebetter · 17/10/2024 20:15

@weaseleyes bread is my nemesis too. My go to food comfort blanket was thick slices of sourdough with loads of butter and jam. I think the combo of bread and fat used to just fire stuff through me and make me bloat like crazy.

Don't even want it now. Butter is one of the things that tastes funny, like off milk and cheesy heads / dirty hair that need a wash.

FlappingMadly · 17/10/2024 20:17

@MabelSpan i don’t think you meant to tag me? I’m very into fibre. All good advice though. I pre cook rice and potatoes.

That is a fab NSV @Motnight 💃💃💃

Yes @AnnieMcFanny i used to regular have poached egg and avocado on toast but even the thought of it is bleugh.

weaseleyes · 17/10/2024 20:20

Mine would be toast and marmite. It's funny, I visualise it and think ooh, that would be nice. Then I imagine actually chewing it and feel a bit bleurgh. Long may it last! Though one day I would like to eat the occasional bit of bread without feeling like it's the last days of ancient Rome.

weaseleyes · 17/10/2024 20:21

That was to @MargoLivebetter but I see @FlappingMadly and I cross-bleurghed!

FlappingMadly · 17/10/2024 20:25

@weaseleyes i used to love toast and marmite but that’s bleugh too.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2024 20:46

Marmite girl here as well. Still have. Love sour dough

What else do people take/do for sulphur burps?

I've taken peppermint capsules which minimised for couple hours.

They are horrid

I drink peppermint tea and also take peppermint capsules for sulphur burps. I have found that something like a yogurt can help sometimes. When they're really bad I also have rennies.

FlappingMadly · 17/10/2024 21:46

I used to make sourdough @Blondeshavemorefun but had to say a sad farewell to it when my daughter was diagnosed celiac. I make GF sourdough but it is so not the same.

NippyCrab · 17/10/2024 21:51

@MabelSpan I didn't know that about carbs, I'll put my bread in the freezer tonight. Can I part cook the pasta because I'm weird about overcooked pasta 😒 then put it in my sauce to heat it up?
Has anyone felt like they are obsessing a bit about being skinny and loving how it feels the more we lose. After being obese for so many years I want to feel small, I want to be the slimmest I've ever been and the healthiest. The more time passes I'm seeing changes like I can automatically cut my toenails without my belly blocking the way like a big cushion. I climbed up and over some rocks today at the beach when the tide came in and i felt it was so much easier because I'm lighter, I felt like a wee ninja 😂. I'm nimble in getting in my van instead of lumbering into the seat. I don't want to lose this good feeling now it's finally happening and I'm doing it, I'm sticking to it.

Same here! I could eat half a loaf of sourdough with butter no problem, but I really don't want bread or anything starchy at all now. I had one slice of baguette last night with some garlic prawns at a restaurant, they gave me two slices and I gave one to DH. I'm not bothered about sugary things either. I had three bites of a chocolate brownie earlier and then was like "meh, not enjoying this any more".

It's hard to know whether the change in taste is because of MJ, or because of the prediabetes scare, as even before starting MJ I had got worried about my state of health and the impact of what how I was eating and had already made changes and lost a bit. I've been following a lower carb Mediterranean diet mostly and just haven't been eating starchy and sweet things, I don't even eat much fruit any more, so I don't know if I've genuinely just lost the taste for them because I no longer eat them or if it's something to do with the jags.

MargoLivebetter · 17/10/2024 22:05

@NippyCrab here's to you feeling like a wee ninja!

@CrazyGoatLady what is it about bread and butter?! Addictive stuff!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2024 22:28

Ninja @NippyCrab 😂😂😂

@MabelSpan thank you for the recommendation of the Renpho scales. Have just bought them!

For those people suffering from stomach aches and pains (me included) I have been drinking a Twining's Digest Tea. It's spearmint, apple and rooibos. Not sure if it actually does anything but it makes me feel as though I am being proactive!

Pinkjenny · 18/10/2024 06:57

I knew it was going to happen at some point and unfortunately I've had my first gain this week.

Only a couple of pound, I haven't done anything differently but I'm absolutely gutted 😞

Is it TOTM or anything? Idk when you last weighed yourself, but if it's not been very long, it could be water retention or possibly even constipation related if you've had that issue. I can fluctuate by 2-3lb day to day depending on what I've eaten (or not), whether I've been to the gym, what I've done in the gym, etc.

Pinkjenny · 18/10/2024 07:08

I've come on another extremely heavy period so it could be that, but I'm reluctant to blame that as I had a three week period a couple of weeks ago but continued to lose. However, my suppression has been virtually non existent this week.

Anyway, I'll jab today and we go again. That's what I love the most about MJ, I'll just do the injection but not press the 'fuck it' button, which is what I would normally do after a gain.

Pinkjenny · 18/10/2024 07:31

I was expecting some words of consolation from dh, but no.

'Well you'll just have to get it off next week, you've worked so hard, you don't want it to go the other way.'

Charming.
