@owlyboo suppression been OK, side effects negligible, think I'll move up as was same on 5 til last dose and then it just wasn't lol.

lookathatbookcase · 17/10/2024 14:39

@Fuffedoff That's big! I've had similar, and it's so interesting to have the decoupling between 'my ingrained impulses want this' and 'my body wants this'.

@Blondeshavemorefun Not grapes, but I have not been able to deal with sweetcorn since starting MJ - too much cellulose, or I'm just not chewing it enough.

JohnCravensNewsround · 17/10/2024 15:20

@Blondeshavemorefun I am hoping that I don't regret sticking at 7.5 for another month, but I will keep my bonus dose from this month so I figure I can up it a little if I need.
Working towards visible collar bones now

itwasnevermine · 17/10/2024 15:49

@Blondeshavemorefun that sounds kind of concerning to me, like food isn't being digested at all? I know mounjaro slows down your digestion but I didn't think it would be to that extent?

MabelSpan · 17/10/2024 16:00

@MissFancyDay I am doing ok, thanks for checking!

I had to take anti sickness on Mon, Tues and Weds, apart from that no nasty side effects just my usual burping and hiccuping. I feel very lucky not to have been hit harder after my stupidity!
I have also had major supression, too much in fact. I havent wanted to eat at all. Luckily I stocked up on all things ginger and minty so I have hit my calorie goal eah day, just rather unhealthily, consisting of mostly nairns ginger biscuits, crystalized ginger and sucky mint sweets!

I am now trying to convince myself to make a mushroom omlette but think I will end up having some greek yogurt instead... not sure. Suppression this strong is not something I really want so will be glad when I drop back down to 4 or 5mg on Monday.

How are you and everyone else doing?

I havent caught up on the pages and pages since Monday! I think our little group of August starters are the chattiest on MN!😊

owlyboo · 17/10/2024 16:02

@Princessandthepie what a great achievement! Well done.

FlappingMadly · 17/10/2024 16:29

OMG you chatty bunch. Blink and it’s moved on a few pages! 🤣

@Fuffedoff yes old habits do die hard. It’s almost kind of muscle memory. But yay for your iron will power 💪💪

@lookathatbookcase sweetcorn for me too. I assumed it’s the sugar.

Maybe grapes are the same with sugar. Strange.

@Princessandthepie that is absolutely amazing!💃💃💃

@MabelSpan Wowsers that sounds like strong suppression! Maybe hard boil a few eggs so you have sth ready to eat?

FlappingMadly · 17/10/2024 16:32

Grapes are insoluble fibre so maybe on top of food is a no no. Maybe have first thing or include more fibre in your meal?

Motnight · 17/10/2024 16:34

Gosh this is a hard thread to keep up with, but so useful!

Had a non scale victory earlier today. About to buy some Duo boots (quite expensive) and spotted that I had some already, 3 pairs, still in boxes unworn. I've bought them over the last couple of years and they have been too small around the calves. Well, all 3 pairs fit! In fact one pair slightly too large though fine to wear. So that's me sorted this winter for boots!

Plus (not sure I might have posted this already) - I tried on a lovely raincoat that I bought 4 years ago and was too small (spot the trend...) and that also fits.

Just need to buy some proper working scales now so I actually know how much weight I am losing.

On my second week of 7.5 and have had a low level stomach ache for a lot of it. It's not too bad but isn't particularly pleasant.

MissFancyDay · 17/10/2024 16:43

@MabelSpan Good, glad it wasn't too uncomfortable!!

I'm fine. I'm on my second 5mg and glad that I stayed on it as suppression seems to be increasing over the weeks. i have been struggling to eat my 1200 cals this week and have been craving comfort carbs rather than salads etc.

I could have a cheese sandwich at lunchtime and quite happily not bother for the rest of the day. But I am trying to keep up the regime of supplements and protein.

I have to say I like being like this. It's not that I don't enjoy food, it's that it's not top priority any more. I'll decide whether I stay on 5mg in a couple of weeks.

MabelSpan · 17/10/2024 16:50

@FlappingMadly Yes, its stupidly strong, not good. I am currently trying to eat a bowl of fage with pumpkin seeds and honey, its a slow and not overly pleasant process! Cant face eggs or anything else for that matter.

@Motnight What a fab result to find your pairs of boots now fit and your raincoat, that must feel so good! You mentioning stomach ache has reminded my that with my silly high dose this week I had some stomach pain too. Not enough for painkillers but unpleasant nonetheless. I recommend the Renpho scales as recommended on here before, they are really good.

I have just had a little nsv too, I saw some of my neighbours for the first time since Spring and they commented on how I have lost a lot of weight, I have lost 2 stone since I last saw them so a bit more than starting mj. Nice to know its starting to show as I cant see it at all yet!😊I just thanked them and said I have been dieting for months!

SilverSprings510 · 17/10/2024 16:53

@Blondeshavemorefun it was my bonus dose of 5mg so slightly over that. I am staying on 5mg for another month 😊

MabelSpan · 17/10/2024 17:01

@FlappingMadly Its great that your getting such good results on 5mg, I hope to stay on that or thereabouts for as long as possible.
If you do decide to have some carbs, try to either cook and chill them in the case of pasta, rice, potatoes etc or freeze then toast, in the case of bread, doing so increases the amount of resistant starch and makes them much better for you.

I also love the not thinking about or being so interested in food anymore.

I have always been an all or nothing with food, either all good homecooked and very healthy or the complete opposite, whole cakes, tubs of ice cream, pizza, crisp sandwhiches, no middle ground.
The cravings and food noise have vanished for me completely. If this continues I cant see why I wouldnt continue like this for as long as it takes to reach my ultimate goal and beyond. Fingers crossed😊

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2024 17:04

Well done @Princessandthepie

@lookathatbookcase - where I love sweetcorn or corn on the cob and have few times a week But now I'm wary of grapes

Can't see how they would make me sick but weird

Maybe a fibre thing @FlappingMadly

I hadn't eaten too much as some thought maybe porridge and grapes /cuppa soup / lunch too much last Fri

@JohnCravensNewsround - collarbones seem to come and go depending how much I slouch

I will be going to 10 when I get new pen

Have think 2 doses left of 7.5 and bonus so that's 3w left on it

Will def me time to move up by then to 10 !!!

@itwasnevermine guess any food isn't digested in 60/90m ? Not sure really

When I was sick over Chinese they was lumps of chicken - I'm also wary of takeaways now ha ha

@MabelSpan sorry I meant to ask how you were after your double dose incident

Glad haven't been too bad but obv taking anti sickness meant you were poorly bless you

Yes we want suppression but to actually be able to eat and and enjoy !!!

@Motnight that's 3 NSV. Well done !!! But lol at buying 3 pairs and none fitted

Whispers

Why didn't you send them back /refund

@MissFancyDay what supplements do you take

Infant what do you all take ? On the what have I eaten many say about whey and supplements -

I've started doing electrodes only as someone said but I don't take anything else

Should I ?

MabelSpan · 17/10/2024 17:16

@Blondeshavemorefun No problem, I am always amazed that you manage to reply and chat with so many people on here! I cant keep up!
So, I get nausea but no actual sickness, whereas you literally bring stuff back up seemingly random stuff too. Isnt it weird how we all respond so differently to mj! Prior to my silly dose I could eat pretty much anything without any side effects. Now I just cant eat!😃

Supplements...
Vitamin D 25mg daily except in Summer
Womens health multi vit/minerals daily
Magnesium L-threonate and complex of biglycinate, citrate and malate, alternate days
Biotin 10,000mg 3x week
Lions mane and a mushroom complex, alternate days
Collagen complex I, II, III, V, X, daily
Lycopene, daily.
Inulin powder, most days.

Fuffedoff · 17/10/2024 17:19

What else do people take/do for sulphur burps?

I've taken peppermint capsules which minimised for couple hours.

They are horrid

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2024 17:25

Luckily never had dolphin burps

@MabelSpan wtf is lions mane and mushroom supplement

Mushrooms make me heave. Slime. The one thing I really can't bare !

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2024 17:26

Whoops hit post

That's a lot of supplements

OP posts:
MissFancyDay · 17/10/2024 17:28

@Blondeshavemorefun I take

Bovine collagen in my coffee
Electrolyte fizzy tablet
Boots multivitamins

If I take any more I find my bowels go a bit funny. I probably don't need the multi vits as most things are in the electrolyte drink.

MabelSpan · 17/10/2024 17:30

Ooops! I forgot, omega 3!

MabelSpan · 17/10/2024 17:34

@Blondeshavemorefun - dolphin burps😂
The mushrooms are powder or pill form, they are classed as "functional" mushrooms, supposed to have many health benefits...I cant say I have noticed any as yet!😊

Sorry @Fuffedoff I have never had them, thankfully.

weaseleyes · 17/10/2024 17:35

Glad you're ok @MabelSpan!

FlappingMadly · 17/10/2024 17:37

ChunkyMunky · 17/10/2024 17:45

Loving the dolphin burps @Blondeshavemorefun much more fun that the sulphur ones 🤣.

In terms of sickness and slowed digestion; I’ve noticed that on the occasions I’ve thrown up it’s been food that I ate 24 or even 48 hours earlier, so things definitely seem to be sitting in the stomach for a long time.

I’m in a bit of a funny patch at the moment. I don’t feel like I’ve got suppression, the sweet treats and snacks are calling to me in a way that they didn’t in the first month. I am still eating much much less, but I think that’s half willpower, and half fear of side effects. I’m not always making the best choices for nutritional meals because I’ve developed quite an ambivalent / can’t be arsed attitude to food. Need to give my head a wobble and get back on track.

I think I’m going to order another 5mg next. I was toying with the idea of a 2.5mg, but it seems daft to pay the same price for half the medication. At least if I go for the 5mg pen I can do gradual increases if needed, or maybe do something like 2.5mg every 6 days instead of every 7. It’s all a bit trial and error, and I don’t feel like I’ve found the balance point yet.

Excellent news of everyone getting into boots and coats. I’m delighted to be back in my old boots, but am still clinging on to my fat coat, because it’s so cosy. It does feel too big now, but I’m not replacing it just yet.

AnnieMcFanny · 17/10/2024 18:00

Hi guys, how are you?

I came I to say that I’m pretty sure I won’t have a weight loss this week as my scales haven’t moved since I last weighed on Sunday and by now I’d usually know I was going to lose. I’m also the same weight in the morning as I am the evening before when I’d normally be a kilo lighter in the morning.

I’ve no idea why this is happening but the info about the set point posted by Wingit a few pages ago is very interesting. And I have noticed that my protein I take this week is only half of what it normally is so I’ll be adding chicken to my lentil and vegetable soup going forward.

Has anyone developed what can only be described as more taste in certain foods? I had 10gms of cheddar on a chicken sandwich the other day and it tasted way stronger than it normally would. Then the next day I had fillet steak for dinner and only managed two slices as it really did taste as if I had the farmyard in my mouth. I don’t know if I can eat it again.
