Hi everyone, just checking in and catching up.

I visited Birmingham this week for work, where I was mugged! I have been so distracted trying to sort that out, that I forgot to take my weekly MJ jab. Apparently Birmingham has a major issue with phone thieves at the moment.

I’m back home now and trying to get back into the swing of things. I reckon if this happened to me pre-MJ I’d probably resort to comfort eating. Makes me glad I’m taking MJ as it almost acts as a safety blanket!

Other than that, I bought a bunch of supplements like collagen, flax seed oil, magnesium, vitamin B & D to aid my weight loss. 7.5mg has been fairly easy going, I think I’m getting into the swing of things with portion sizes.

I’m sorry that happened to you. Hope you’re ok and not too traumatised by it all. Take care 💐

@MargoLivebetter I was exactly the same. Crazy how much headspace food used to take up. It really makes me wonder why there are so many of us like this - I wonder if the romans and cavemen thought about food .::: suspect UPFs has a lot to do with it. My protein was woeful before I started this too

Me too. It amazes me how I can now enjoy a couple of squares of chocolate and then just be able to...stop. Before I couldn't be satisfied unless I finished the whole bar and then scoffed a second one

I honestly believe that many foods now are chemically engineered to actually be addictive.

Gosh, how scary. You must have felt really shaken up. London is having an increase in phone thefts too at the moment. They have their faces covered, & zoom up on a scooter, grab the phone out of peoples hands & zoom off. Just terrifying. Sending hugs 🤗.

weaseleyes · 13/10/2024 20:45

So sorry to hear that @eeeeeeeee, how rotten for you. Take care of yourself, as it's often after you've done the pragmatic sorting out bit that you start to feel a bit shaky.

weaseleyes · 13/10/2024 20:47

@Mum0ntherun I'd stay where you are before trying to do fine dosage adjustments at this point. It's not unusual to lose a lot initially and then slow down a bit. 2lb would be completely reasonable, so that's just one week you've stayed the same. It's disappointing, but I don't think it signals anything wrong necessarily.

poppym12 · 13/10/2024 20:48

Yes, there's a big red patch too @Glittermoonlight. I've experienced a bit of redness a few days after other jabs but never this itchy. I always bring piriton on holiday with me but it doesn't seem to be helping much.

I hope this isn't the start of some reaction because I really don't want to stop mounjaro.

MargoLivebetter · 13/10/2024 20:51

@eeeeeeeee that sounds awful. So sorry to hear that happened to you. Hug.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2024 20:57

@eeeeeeeee sorry that happened to you. It’s definitely on the rise, our house was burgled last week and car stolen. The whole insurance/police rigamarole takes up a lot of headspace so hugs for you!

MargoLivebetter · 13/10/2024 21:05

@SilverSprings510 , so sorry to hear that about your burglary too. What a nightmare.

eeeeeeeee · 13/10/2024 21:11

Thank you all so much!! 💚 @Mum0ntherun @Glittermoonlight @weaseleyes @MargoLivebetter @Blondeshavemorefun

It was scary, but the police have been great. I didn’t realise how common this is. Someone on Reddit was robbed in same place yesterday. We think it was the same people. Horrible world at times!

Thank you. I’m so sorry about what happened to you. That’s horrendous and a violation of your safe place. I hope you are okay and you get a good outcome from insurance/police. Feel free to message me if you ever need to rant!

Oh my gosh @SilverSprings510 and @eeeeeeeee I am so sorrry! Horrible thing to happen.

Oh @eeeeeeeee and @SilverSprings510 how awful! Hope you're both okay.

@poppym12 hope the itching stops soon and it's not a reaction 🤞

Glittermoonlight · 13/10/2024 22:27

@poppym12 hope it’s not an allergic reaction, might be worth contacting the prescriber if it doesn’t clear up or gets worse & see what they suggest.
@SilverSprings510 So sorry that you were burgled, what a truly horrible thing to go through. Did they take much?

SilverSprings510 · 13/10/2024 22:38

Unfortunately, they got away with quite a lot. Police seem to think it was a planned job. However, we’re safe and that’s the main thing - stuff can be replaced!

HamAlive · 13/10/2024 22:42

@eeeeeeeee bloody hell, I hope you're OK.

And you too @SilverSprings510

Scary.

itwasnevermine · 14/10/2024 07:38

Bloody hell @eeeeeeeee @SilverSprings510 I hope you're both okay!!!

I'm fighting the urge to weigh myself this week. I'm due on my period so I know I'll have gained and I can't really weigh myself truthfully for a good ten days or so.

Yesterday I felt normal and thought the 6.25mg wasn't working for me. This morning I feel so horrendously sick and the thought of any food at all makes me want to gag. Funny old thing this jab

poppym12 · 14/10/2024 08:42

When do you decide to move up a dose?

I took my bonus 5mg yesterday and although suppression is ok (I'm eating much smaller meals), I'm not losing much weight. Around 3kg in total whilst on 5mg I think.

Tempted to stay at 5mg because I feel ok on it (apart from the itching at the injection site from yesterday) and I have lost inches. But am I supposed to be losing more weight? I'm usually in 1200 calories per day, counting everything but I'm on holiday this week so having to guess weights etc.

Is that 3kg in 4 weeks? I'd say that's a good weight loss.

I think moving up is a really personal choice, people seem to feel one way or another about it on here, some really want to stick at lose doses for as long as possible whereas others are planning to stick to the recommended stages.

I'm in the view of the latter, as long as I don't get bad side effects I will be moving up every pen.

It seems amount of weight to lose also plays into it as if people have more weight to still lose they seem to stick to the lowers and they'll be on it for longer...

Sorry not much help!

Arraminta · 14/10/2024 08:54

@eeeeeeeee @SilverSprings510 Just read these and sending lots of love. What despicable things to happen to you both.

It's a conundrum. I had good suppression and hardly any side effects on 5mg so decided to do a 2nd month on it. But my weight loss is very slow, barely 1lb per week. But I only have about another 14lbs to lose so perhaps that's normal?

My weight loss does seem to slow at the end of each pen, but the purpose of the medication isn't that it'll make fat melt off you. I also think it evens out because I do tend to have much larger losses in the first two weeks of the pen
