@owlyboo NSV and H&S win combined 😆

I counted clicks to do 7.5mg out of my 5mg pen and it's worked well. When I went up to 5mg I felt awful, but I've had no side effects from going up to 7.5. The bonus dose from my previous 5mg pen was only about 5.8mg so not a massive stepping stone! I might just go for the 10mg pen next as I don't want to end up in that situation again where the dose stops working.

I'm now 15st 0.75lb (down from 16st 10lb on 1st August) so I'm really hoping to be in the 14s next week!

Princessandthepie · 13/10/2024 09:37

10 weeks in and I've hit the 2 stones loss mark!! Which is great, obviously!

But I feel like it's been a long 10 weeks, I'd love to say that I feel great and energetic but most of the time I feel headachey, tired and generally run down.

I was really hoping to feel better than I do, I've not had alcohol in those 10 weeks either so I thought I'd bouncing off the walls, full of energy but nope, just tired.

Anyone else feeling this tired too?

And it's not as if I'm not sleeping enough, I'm averaging 8 hours a night, last night I slept for nearly 11 and half hours!

SW 15 stones 8lbs - Sat 3rd August

Is anyone else at a stage MJ wise where you kind of take for granted the different approach to food (namely not thinking about eating) and unwisely questioning if you need to spend £ for injections in a new routine after 10 weeks 😅

Not me, yet. I am still surprised that I can go to bed after a day of 1400 calories and not be kept awake with a growling tummy and thoughts of food. The memory is still fresh of how obsessed with food I was before starting MJ and I am not ready to confront that yet! I have around 4 stone still to go, though. And had got in quite a pickle with my eating over the years.
@owlyboo great NSV!

Wingingit11 · 13/10/2024 09:54

@GoodLuckBabe I think I’m just getting a bit complacent though am quite motivated now I feel better in myself. Save for a touch of constipation I don’t feel like I’m on meds now whereas at the start I felt quite hungover all the time, so I guess less conscious of it generally

FlappingMadly · 13/10/2024 09:57

Great loss @Princessandthepie 💃💃💃
Sorry you’re not feeling good though. As your loss is impressive are you eating enough? Exercising?

Motnight · 13/10/2024 09:57

I am about to take my 2nd injection of 7.5. Does anyone else have different periods of hunger throughout the week? On Friday I was very hungry. Assumed that the injection that I had taken 5 days previously was wearing off. Then yesterday felt incredibly full and only had one proper meal.

I'm eating 2 meals a day, around 1100 calories.
So breakfast is usually bran flakes with yoghurt and berries.
Snack of rice crackers, cheese spread, ham and cucumber.
Dinner whatever I've made which is all weighed, calorie counted.

Exercise is not great, I will admit, but lots going on at the moment so I'm busy.

I'm kinda hoping for that to quieten down soon so I'll have more time to myself so I can get back to the gym.

But it's hard to find the motivation to exercise when all I want to do is sleep.

pippapumpkin · 13/10/2024 10:12

I’m about half a pound off a two stone loss and I’ve only just noticed my most worn jeans (size 20) starting to feel loose. Luckily most of my jeans are in size 18 and 16 so should be covered for a while yet, I hovered as a 16-18 for years then gained to a 20 when breastfeeding and the additional bad habits I gained when sleep deprived (helloooo choccy after lunch and tea).

I don’t feel like people are noticing the loss yet other than people who know I’m on MJ.

I’ve put a pound back on, that’s from weighing last Tuesday but I’m going back to Sunday being my day I think, it’s just easier. Think I’ll jab tonight too, and then I’m going to do Friday before we go away for a week on sat - I could take it with me but honestly can’t be faffed, would rather just bring it forward a couple of days.

I’ve been eating between about 800 and 1100 calories a day, but think I went a bit over on Friday - shouldn’t have been enough to give me a gain but who knows what’s going on, I’m not stressing it really as I know the overall trend is down.

Exercise is pathetic really - just the school run twice a day in the week which adds up to about 7k steps. I need to get back into it but I’ve been so fatigued since covid, and still feel like I have the worst cold, so it’s hard to get myself moving.
Im going to need to do it gently.

Was making banana choc chip muffins at 7 this morning with DD, after she had me up at 5.45! I’ve just had one with a cup of tea - they were slightly healthier than average but still pretty sugary and I used my app to work out to about 240 calories. Oh well, not the end of the world - but I’m feeling sugar cravings creeping back in a little bit so maybe I’ll go up to 7.5 for the next pen after all.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2024 10:49

@Wingingit11 no as I'm not sure mj is really working for me yet. I feel 10 May be the magic number

@HamAlive hope you get into the 14s bracket. So close

@Princessandthepie sorry feel poorly. Maybe you need to eat a bit more ?

@GoodLuckBabe you sound similar to me

@pippapumpkin I also have several sizes of jeans so no need to buy till I get to 14. If ever lol

@AuntieDote sorry for gain but 800cals doesn't sound much

Omfg at dd and making muffins at 7. How old is she ?

Morning all. I'm really struggling with bloat, stomach ache and constipation. It's been since Friday night when I stupidly indulged in a packet of Skittles. I've tried drinking lots of fluid and even had a small curry last night, but nothing is working! I already take Symprove every morning so I know my gut health is very good.

What's the best fastest relief please?

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2024 11:09

Lactulose - fab stuff

Take 20/30ml and wait

@Blondeshavemorefun shes 4 and strongly believes sleep is for the weak 😂 I don’t normally start baking at such hours (to be honest I usually let DH deal with the early mornings as he’s far more pleasant than I am before 8am! ) but saw the bananas rotting on the side, and have been promising her for a while that we could bake so thought might as well get it out of the way!

800 calories is pretty low - it’s rarely that low but occasionally if suppression is extra strong it will be. And whilst I’ve been ill it’s been more of a struggle to get anything down - that’s definitely easing now though!

We’re away next week and I imagine calories (and carbs!) will go up a lot. We’re self catering in a caravan, and it tends to be porridge, sandwiches and then make something easy like pasta in the evening. I can’t imagine myself preparing lots of fresh salads and stuff in our poky little caravan kitchen, although in theory it’s perfectly possible!

weaseleyes · 13/10/2024 11:30

I'm having the opposite of a NSV - more a NS failure! I thought I'd inspect how far I have to go until I can fit into the size 12 jacket which is my marker of a reasonable weight (comfortable fit always used to equal I'm fine, could still just get the zip up = a bit porky, but salvageable). Anyway, it was all a lesson in me being so much fatter than I like to think. I could get it on but it was miles from doing up - which I absolutely was expecting, so that wasn't the shock. (Although there was a gap at the front of almost a foot, I think!). It was seeing it was actually a 14, so even the thinner self which I think I 'really' am is fatter than I thought! Not massive, obviously, but it gave me pause for thought.

I think I've had so many diets where I lose a ton of weight and feel and look loads better, that I haven't really faced up to the fact that it's been a couple of decades since I've actually been at a healthy BMI as opposed to being a bit overweight. I'm not too despondent at this. My biggest fear with MJ has been what if I lose weight and put it on again and it's just like every diet I've ever done (but more expensive). I think this will help me reframe it as this time it actually is different because it will enable me to go far enough to reach a healthy BMI and that will give me the incentive to maintain it.

weaseleyes · 13/10/2024 11:32

And the landmark jacket was covered in lint, old cat hair and was a bit motheaten! Not the dream garment of choice. I'm wearing it anyway, when I can!

Thank you. Can I pick it up in Boots?

FlappingMadly · 13/10/2024 11:36

I’ve dropped a kilo! 7kg down, 24 gazillion to go.
I am moving slowly and painfully after yesterday at the gym. And in a fit of enthusiasm and unfounded optimism a couple of weeks ago I signed myself up for boot camp, which fml is this afternoon.

Have you thought about stocking up on ready made poke bowls? The Co Op do really lovely ones as do M&S.

weaseleyes · 13/10/2024 11:48

Good luck @FlappingMadly!

Arraminta · 13/10/2024 12:17

Bah! Just been in Boots and no Lactose! So have stocked up on Syrup of Figs, max strength Senokot and Milk of Magnesia! Surely that will get things moving?

SilverSprings510 · 13/10/2024 12:37

I’ve decided to stay on 5mg for another month and assess after that. I’ve lost 11lbs so far on 5mg and with the cost and the fact I’m likely to be on this for at least a year I don’t want to fly through the doses super quickly. I’m doing my bonus dose this week too.

Princessandthepie · 13/10/2024 13:01

I wouldn't say I'm poorly, just tired and with a constant headache.
The headaches do ease off a bit after eating but I'm not hungry enough to eat more than I already am doing.

Though DH has just reminded me that we haven't had a vitamin supplements for about 3 days so that probably explains the extra tiredness this weekend. I take feroglobin, omega 369 and vitamin D.

Mum0ntherun · 13/10/2024 13:10

Weigh in day - haven’t gained but haven’t lost 😞 5mg doesn’t feel as good for me as 2.5. I lost 18lbs in 5 weeks on 2.5 but only 2Lbs on 5 in two weeks. Still a lose I know but I have about 40lbs more to lose.

I’m eating much less than at 2.5 but also drinking less. Im headachey and tired on 5 which I wasn’t much on 2.5. This week I’ll really push myself to eat consistently and be more active. Need to decide if I stick at 5 for another month drop back to 2.5 as that worked better or up to 7.5 🤯 not easy managing all this is it?

Senna always works on me, but sometimes too well. I think it suggests doing it at night. I might do a half cup of senna tea today. I didn’t realize I was a bit blocked until I tried to go. That would explain a few other things too.

I’m doing better this week at eating lots of lentils and beans so once I start things should keep moving. It’s so easy to be full before I get to my fruit and veg. I’ve always been a huge fruit and veg person so it’s strange to me. But I can’t eat a meal and drink a homemade smoothie and I’m having less meals a day. I think these are the kind of changes I need to lock in while I’m on injections.
